Char's Wedding Shoppe

I went to 5 different stores, tried on about 50 dresses, no luck... then I went to Char's assuming not having good dresses because they display prom dresses in the window. But they had the one! And the lady brought me only 3 dresses and that was it. Like she knew what I wanted! Everyone there is very friendly, made sure I'm happy with it. Alteration was perfect too.

I ordered my bridesmaid's dresses from Char's in St. John Indiana. My maid of honor was measured and 5 and half months later when the dresses arrived, her dress was 3 inches too small in her boobs and they told her that her boobs grew 3 inches after she has been dieting for months, which is ridiculous. They claim they don't make mistakes but after being measured my maid of honor had came home and tried on an old brides maids dress she had and it fit, and then after this "growth" came home 5 months later and tried on the same dress and it still fit... but they don't make mistakes! .... Then the owner Char says "Can I be frank, lay off the mcdonald's and fast food and it will work"! Who says that to someone! We were very offended and if my wedding wasn't so close, I would have never done business with them. I would never recommend them to anyone. If Char is too old to know what's inappropriate then she's too old to be running a store.

I looked at two bridal salons. The first one I went to was awful. Then, I came to Char's, and I didn't need to look any further.Char was amazing! I told her the things I was looking for in a dress and she came back with dresses that were exactly what I was looking for. They were beautiful, high quality, and gorgeous. It didn't take me long to find the perfect dress. When I put it on, I knew. Then, she had me try on a few different styles of veils - all of which were amazing. They were extremely friendly, professional, and genuienely excited to be part of my big day. They kept my dress until the day before the wedding - that was so nice of them to do that. I didn't have to worry about my dress - I knew it was in a safe place. Anytime I went for a fitting, they were always prepared. They had my dress waiting in a fitting room when I got there. I also bought my earrings from them - which Char's daughter (who is the seamstress) helped me pick out. I was sooo pleased with my experience there! I felt like a princess on my wedding, and I know a lot of that had to do with Char's!Thank you!!

Super nice, very good eye for fashion, knows how to make the bride feel very special. They do work with the shoe dying companies so you don't have to!

excellent service, beautiful selection of dresses, SUPER flexible with out of town flower girl, a bit pricey, but worth it.

They did not seem to have a huge selection of bridal gowns, but luckily, I found mine there. It's a small shop.

I had a dress already, but went to Char's for alterations. I hated the original design of my dress, it was off the shoulder and poofy! Char herself, had altered it and made it into spaghetti straps....she did an amazing job....also in a very short time! Also got my bridesmades dresses there. My husband and I decided to get married in April, and got married in July, so we had to do things in a hurry, so we picked out prom dresses for my girls, and she had 5 of them and in all the right sizes! It was perfect!!!
