The Chef and I Catering was SO easy to work with. Denny was incredibly kind and so in tune with our family's needs as far as budget and menu. He worked with us on making sure that we had the perfect meal and event at the budget we needed it to be. He was honest, easy going and fun to work with. This is the kind of person you want to work with for your wedding. He also helped in making the setup and day seamless at the venue, and was there every step of the way. His chef and team are AWESOME, and really put in the extra effort to make sure that everyone was happy and taken care of. Our wedding turned out beautifully and we couldn't have done it without the help of Denny and The Chef and I. The food was of course delicious, but as a side note, the angel hair pasta nests were a HUGE hit at the wedding... highly recommended!!!

Denny and his staff were absolutely wonderful to work with. They were very attentive, responsive, flexible, friendly, accommodating and honest. All of our guests raved about the food - and we loved it as well (I wish we were able to take some of the leftovers back with us before we left for our honeymoon!). Financially, you get a lot of bang for your buck - both in quantity and quality of the food.
I would highly recommend the Chef & I Catering to anyone I know that is getting married in the Pittsburgh area. This vendor is extremely experienced and I had no worries or second thoughts in working with them, which made that aspect of the wedding planning virtually stress-free!

We had a selection of caterers to choose from at Solders and Sailors Memorial Hall and we went with Denny at the Chef and I Catering...we are happy that we did! He was great.
We had a private tasting of different menu options and were able to sit down with Denny to make all of the selections for our reception. We went with a buffet meal but they also offer sit down service as well as station receptions. Denny and the chef were able to accommodate our special requests (I LOVE sweet potatoes) and the dietary needs of some of our guests. They also take care of place settings and linens which was great. They were wonderful to work with in the planning process.
On the day of, they were fantastic. They were attentive and kept everything moving and on time. I can't even tell you how many guests complimented the food and were so happy with everything...not your standard wedding buffet food!
If you are looking for a wonderful, affordable caterer in Pittsburgh, go with Denny and the Chef and I Catering...you won't be disappointed.

Chef Rey Fernandez has a diverse culinary background including 7 years with Carnival Cruise Lines and can prepare almost anything you would want for your event. Owner Denny Trozzo and banquet managers Vikki Hileman and Nikki Villalpando will make sure that all planning and logistical needs are met and that everything runs smoothly at the reception.
We are located near Freeport PA - but are completely portable and can come to your home, banquet hall, or outdoor location. Our regular venues include Soldiers and Sailors Museum (Oakland), Laube Hall (Freeport), Armstrong Farms (Saxonburg), The Mansion (Butler), Springdale Veterans Association and Parkview Social Hall (Shaler). Prepriced menu packages are available for each of these locations. We offer free taste testings once you have a firm date and venue.
