Cherry Hill Park and Farmhouse
Cherry Hill Farmhouse is a beautiful site for a reception and the people who work at the farmhouse itself are wonderful, especially Diane Morse who handles the special events. I had many happy memories of playing at the playground there when I was a child and, on the day of the wedding, everything was great. The house is so nice, and any children at the wedding can run right next door to the playground while the adults are dancing. The only problem is that, in order to set up a tent outside we had to get the approval of four departments of the Falls Church City government. This process took, quite literally, six months. I had to call the poor clerk at the government office every week in order to make sure things were trucking along and it we wouldn't have gotten the permit at all had my mother not called and had a nervous breakdown on the phone, saying things like, "What would you do if you were in my position? I just want a nice reception for my only daughter" etc. Pretty silly. But, anyway, Cherry Hill Farmhouse turned out wonderfully, we just had to strongarm the local government. If you have a small wedding (under 50, I think) and you aren't planning to set up a tent, then you wouldn't have any of the problems we had--you would just be working with Diane and you wouldn't have to fool with Falls Church City at alll. But, if it's much bigger, I would suggest looking elsewhere just to avoid the headache.
My husband and I loved our wedding site. I grew up with in walking distance of the park and my grandparents and parents still live near the park. It was the perfect venue for both our wedding and reception.
The staff provided us with the Farmhouse for myself and my bridesmaids to get dressed in and the barn so we could have all the electrical outlets we needed for the reception. The staff was very friendly and catered to our every need.
