Cheryl J. Weddings and Events

Cheryl was a joy to work with; polished and professional. I really do not know what I would have done without her! Cheryl helped to bring the vision of my wedding into a reality. By allowing me the ability to not sweat the small stuff, I had the time and sanity to handle the big picture. If you are debating whether a wedding planner is right for you, Cheryl is the perfect choice, she offers flexible services that vary in prices and the amount of assistance needed.

This review has been long overdue since it's been about 10 months since my husband and I got married in NYC last year. However, I still wanted to write about how wonderful Cheryl has been throughout the planning process, time leading to the wedding and the actual day of. From the moment that I met Cheryl, I knew that she was the right person for the job. She was really easy to get along with and friendly but at the same time very organized and professional. She was very approachable and easy to get a hold of. At the time of the wedding, my husband and I both had crazy working hours. As a result, we personally were not as available. However, Cheryl was very patient with us and was firm when we needed to make final decisions towards the final days leading to the wedding.

I was also comforted by Cheryl's ability to deal with very stressful situations. For example, I had major issues with one of my vendors one week before the wedding. It was extremely stressful but Cheryl stepped in and advocated on my behalf. She also immediately began to offer solutions to remedy the situation by helping me find alternative vendors and coming up with contingency plans.

All in all, the wedding was a great success and I don't think I would've been able to get through the wedding without Cheryl. Not only were my husband and I impressed by her, but several of my guests at the wedding also noted how organized and well prepared she was. I highly recommend Cheryl for anyone's wedding planning needs! :)

Where do I start? Cheryl was the best thing that happen to us! She was a life saver, she made our wedding experience so much fun and smooth. She was straight-forward and she helped us make decisions by making everything very simple and gave us a ton of information about all the places to have our wedding. She also helped us with budgeting. Where and how we can cut down costs. I didn’t have to lift a finger because Cheryl was there for everything for my wedding. I would recommend her to everyone and I think all brides need a wedding planner so you can have a BLAST in your wedding, without worrying about a thing!!! SHE ROCKS!!!!!

I was working with a shoestring budget and I was trying to accomplish a chic destination wedding. - Cheryl was creative and hands-on to creating my dream wedding. I live in Chicago and she was able to accomplish planning every detail from New York. She's really easy to communicate with and her suggestions were gold to me.

Cheryl is a wonderful wedding planner and I have recommended her to a few friends looking for help to plan their wedding. She is friendly, knowledgeable, experienced and very reassuring. Working with Cheryl to plan our wedding was like working with a dear friend, who wanted nothing more than for us to have the wedding of our dreams - within our budget!
Her vendor recommendations were spot on - she truly has an extensive and high-quality network, with enough variety to suit different tastes and budgets.

As soon as I met Cheryl, I felt immediately at ease and in good hands. She is kind and vivacious, the ultimate professional who is somehow your best friend at the same time. I trusted her from the beginning. She truly listens so that your event is perfectly tailored around what you want, and gives you honest advice so you don't waste precious time during the planning process.

Cheryl knows when to be firm, and I've seen her deal with vendors - she fights for you while maintaining a great relationship with all the caterers, florists, churches, etc. Of all the things we spent on for our wedding, Cheryl was the BEST INVESTMENT by far. She was able to negotiate great deals for us (e.g. she got the caterer to throw in a hamachi appetizer which was a supplemental; she also got our band to throw in an additional musician). She saved us money, which in NYC is not an easy thing to accomplish!!

On the day of the wedding, she plans down to the minute and sometimes even down to the second. I didn't fret at all because I knew she was managing the event flawlessly. I have been recommending her to all my friends. You will gush about her as well once you hire her, I'm sure of that!

I cannot believe how lucky we were to find and work with Cheryl when planning our wedding. She was extremely knowledgeable and was so easy to confide in and connect with... She immediately knew our vision and was able to capture it in every detail. She has tremendous relationships with vendors, is focused on the task at hand and was ALWAYS available - she made us feel like we were her ONLY client (which was so NOT the case)! Our wedding was the most magical night and it was all due to Cheryl and her team. And she stayed on budget through out the entire process which was extremely important to us. We were planning a fairly elaborate wedding and needed help on organizing and coordination. We met Cheryl and were convinced she was capable of helping us based on what she told us. However, when we started work on the planning, we found that she either didn't have the contacts to put us in touch with the vendors we wanted, or the ability to negotiate with them to our satisfaction. In the end we ended up finding our own vendors for everything, and the one thing that she did help us with (one of the function venues), we ended up having to negotiate with them ourselves, as Cheryl was happy with the base rate that they had given.

Eventually, we ended up terminating the contract and getting another wedding planned/coordinator. Our experience with her has been that she would be good for someone looking for a cookie-cutter wedding, without many complexities, but is really unable to deal with the demands of a 5 day, multi-city (read Indian), complex wedding.

Given the issues we had, I would highly recommend anyone looking for help with wedding planning to get a well reviewed wedding planner, as they really make the difference between sanity and insanity in the months leading up to the wedding.
