My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding officiant, she was patient, and met with us a couple of times to make sure everything went down smoothly on the big day, not to mention she kept in touch through email! On the day before the wedding we were forced to change our venue and the time of the ceremony but Carrie was flexible and understanding so she came through! I had my wedding on the 9th of October. It was a perfect weekend for a wedding as well. I didn't have alot of people, just my parents and a family friend. It was so sweet and nice. "Our wedding officiant, Cari, was FABULOUS!!! Not only was she professional, and helpful, she made us feel like we had such a personal relationship from the first moment we met with her! We felt like we knew her since the beginning and it was more like a close friend getting us married than someone we just met a week ago. She was available to us by email, phone and in person. Took us on a tour of her adorable wedding ceremony site. She adapted to our non traditional wedding and when we asked to change everything one day before she was all smiles and supported every decision providing us options. She gave us a complete experience! Before knowing about CJP we wanted to go to City hall and after calling to make an appt and them yelling at me for calling too late, they close at 4 and I called at 3:30 told me to call back tomorrow in an annoyed voice. I cried because I could just picture them yelling at us because our kiss lasted one second instead of a millisecond. Then we found Chicago Justice of the Peace and we found out we had options and we didn't have to spend a lot! Cari went to our location and performed the ceremony of our dreams! For our ten years vows renewal am calling her! Please schd a meeting with her before feeling the despair of having a City hall wedding or even going to Las Vegas! My (now) husband and I were in a hugely stressful bind when my great uncle, a retired judge, had to cancel as officiant for our wedding less than a week before the big day. I wrote a flurry of emails to officiants and chose Carrie based on her good reviews and the commitment to openness she expressed on her website (and proximity to our ceremony site- north side Chicago!). We are so glad she was free to help us out! Less than 24 hours before the ceremony we officially hired her, but throughout the week before she was incredibly responsive and willing to work with the personal secular ceremony my husband and I had worked on for a month (and the incredibly tight time schedule & other pre-wedding stresses we were dealing with that week). My husband especially appreciated the fact that Carrie kept him in the loop for the entire process - she always emailed us or called us both and made sure we were both treated equally, treatment he didn't get from a lot of our other bride-centric vendors. We were so grateful to Carrie for her flexibility, professionalism, and kindness. Thank you for helping us have a memorable, beautiful day!

Our wedding day was everything we had wanted it to be - simply, fun, intimate, and most of all stress free...oh, and on a budget. I am so glad we found the Chicago JOP. Cari was great and made everything so easy. We were able to customize our ceremony exactly how we wanted it and how long we wanted it to be. Not to mention "where" we wanted it to take place.

We chose to have ours onsite in their wedding room. It is on the smaller side, but we did just fine fitting 20 people and I had a couple of my friends go in to decorate the room prior. It was also nice that our guests were able to hear the dialogue and didn't feel pressured to stay quiet. Lots of fun!

The Pub next door, Jet's Public House allows children until 8PM and has cheap all you can drink specials for the adults in your party if you let them know ahead of time.The staff and patrons were very friendly and really enjoyed hosting a just married couple. A wedding at Carrie's and a reception at Jet's is the perfect combination. It had all the excitement and romance of a spur of the moment elopement, but we were able to include our parents and children. It was perfect. We gave only a 3.5 for responsiveness because it took longer than we were expecting before we received a draft of our ceremony, and this made us worry a little bit. But when we did receive it, it was everything we hoped for. Carrie very clearly loves what she does. We are very glad we found her and would recommend her to anyone. We could have spent 100 times more and had a wedding that was 1000 times less memorable and less romantic than this.
