Chocolate Maven

Now I see why Chocolate Maven has such a fantastic reputation! Our wedding cake was beyond delicious and we ate leftovers for several days!
I was a little nervous because we decided to go with a sheet wedding cake instead of a tiered one, but they did an absolutely gorgeous job and eased any of my worries! Everyone loved it!!

I didn't have a traditional cake, but went the cake buffet route instead. I ordered 6 or 7 cakes and a pie. They were all ready for pick up at the time specified. Their cakes are DELICIOUS. Our main cake was the Mayan Chile Chocolate cake - chocolate cake with a subtle chile chocolate cream frosting. This is the most unique cake I've ever had. It even comes decorated with little chile pepper ristras made of icing. Ordering is easy since they are one of very few bakeries in Santa Fe with their menu online. Our guests really loved the selection they had with the cake buffet, too. We even had a wheat free chocolate torte for the guests with wheat & gluten allergies.

We met with the owner, who is in charge of wedding cakes, and put together a cupcake tower. We went in not really knowing what we wanted besides cupcakes and a cheesecake top layer, but he helped us pick out some amazing flavors (lemon cupcakes with sugar-coated cherries on top), and when we saw the whole thing put together, my husband and I almost wet ourselves, it was so beautiful! The cheesecake topper was amazing, I could've eaten the whole thing (except somebody beat us to it, but that's another story), and everybody kept talking about how wonderful the cupcakes were! We can't wait to go back on our anniversary and get more!
