Chuck Lawson - Wedding & Event Music

Chuck provided a marvelous wedding atmosphere and then provided the most fun wedding reception I have been to! No one was ready for him to go home!

Chuck absolutely made our wedding. He started our ceremony by playing the steel drums and blew into a conch shell as I arrived. From the moment everyone arrived at the beach house for the reception we were on our feet dancing. Chuck has a gift for feeling the crowd and playing the songs that we requested while avoiding those awkward times when everyone leaves the dance floor for a mood killing slow song. The 50 guests that came in from Chicago fell in love with Chuck and were chanting his name by the end of the night "Chuck, Chuck, Chuck", he even finished the night with a steel drum encore! Our guests told us it was the best wedding they had ever been to and we have Chuck to thank for that. We couldn't be happier, hire Chuck for your wedding!

Chuck did a fantastic job at my ceremony and reception. I loved the blowing of the shell to signal that I was walking down the aisle. I also loved the music that was played throughout the wedding reception. We had a blast dancing as did our guests. Chuck is also very responsive and is open to any requests that you have as well.

Chuck couldn't have been more perfect for our wedding! He is one talented guy and super nice. He blew the conch shell when I (the bride) was about to walk down the aisle and blew everybody's mind! Who else can say they had that at their wedding? :) He can do it all...DJ, MC, sing, play every instrument..he's your go-to guy! Not only is he an amazing artist, he is also very down to earth and extremely nice! He was probably the only vendor I had that was easy to contact and was very responsive and professional. I wish all my vendors would have been as professional and trustworthy as Chuck. BOOK HIM!

Chuck is not only a great musician, he is just a great guy in general. He does a fabulous job of getting an idea of what you want, and then what your guests want. I wanted one thing, so Chuck started out with the vibe i picked in the beginning of the night...but he knew I wanted folks to dance, so he changed the vibe for the last hour of our reception. It was perfect though. The ceremony was beautiful, I cannot rave enough about what a wonderful job he did. chuck truly cares about every aspect...and he won't let you down. I am so happy we had Chuck and wouldn't change a thing about any of it!

This was my son's wedding and reception and Chuck was absolutely phenomenal! He not only "asked" what we wanted, he provided it without question or complication.....even specialty songs! He was also EXTREMELY talented in both his musical abilities and his singing abilities. My daughter will be getting married soon and we are trying to arrange for Chuck to provide his services at her special day also. If you want talent, personality, and genuine quality, all at a reasonable price, ask for Chuck. You will not be disappointed!

PERFECT!!!! Yes perfect. If I didn't have to write 30 words I wouldn't because perfect sums it up. You will not find better. My whole wedding party loved him. They still talk about how amazing he was. I paired him with Marie T. Di Giovine as the officent and they worked so well together. If you want a stress free amazing time then I suggest you hire these two and kick off your shoes and dance!

Chuck Lawson provided steel drum music and blew the conch shell 3 times before the wedding signifying (The Father, Son, & Holy Ghost) and 1 long time when the minister pronounced Mr. and Mrs. ??? for our daughter's wedding in Orange Beach, AL. He also provided music and entertainment at the reception which was held at Shipps Harbour Grill. He made it a night to remember for all. We can't wait to hear him perform somewhere close by so that we can go listen to him again. He really made the reception!!

Chuck was great both at the ceremony and the reception. His steel drums were the perfect background for our beach wedding. Afterward at the reception he ran the show like a true professional. He played to the crowd and a fun time was had by all. Chuck is strongly recommended.

I can't say enough about Chuck! He pretty much saved our wedding. In 36 hours we got 22.5 inches of rain for our Destin beach wedding along with 60 MPH wind. 2 hours from the start of the wedding we changed location to my aunt's house in Niceville about 30 minutes away. Without hesitation Chuck picked up and moved to the new location.

We were blown out of the water by how talented Chuck is. The steel drums were beautiful, his voice right on, and he played all his own instruments in his recordings. He had my 84 year old grandfather tapping his foot and my 7 year old flower girl "crazy" dancing. He even impressed my toughest critic, my dad. My dad was so impressed by Chuck's musical talents and range of genre.

Most importantly Chuck was such a pleasure to have. He is VERY professional, nice, and warm hearted. Thank you for everything Chuck!

Wow!! Chuck went over and beyond our expectations to provide music for our ceremony and reception. Everyone loved his performance and he definitely makes beautiful music. The steel drums complimented our beach wedding perfectly. He played all of the songs we requested plus his choice of songs and guitar playing skills kept everyone entertained for hours. He bent over backwards to make our special day worry free. Chuck always answered my calls and emails promptly and efficiently. I would definitely use him again for other events in the future and recommend him to others!

Chuck Lawson provided the ceremony music and performed at the wedding reception of our daughter. From the first time I spoke with Chuck on the phone, I knew he was the person to truly entertain us for Lindsay and Michael's wedding. He is very warm, professional and has a fabulous personality that is pleasing to everyone. He truly entertained all of us with the blowing of the conch shell, the lovely steel drums and at the reception did a fabulous job singing, playing guitar and a mix of dj music. Absolutely the best! I cannot say enough wonderful things about what Chuck Lawson brought to our wedding experience. On a day filled with much anxiety, (our weather was not cooperating with our original beach wedding plans), Chuck was the ultimate professional, bringing his good nature and invaluable experience to the table as we restructured our wedding day setup to accommodate the hastily devised “Plan B.” Providing what he promised and more, Chuck set the perfect musical tone for our daughter’s beautiful wedding, and fabulously fun reception. It takes an incredible amount of talent to do what he does and make it look so effortless, and I will be forever grateful that Chuck Lawson was able to play such an important part of our daughter’s special day. Chuck Lawson provided a fairytale wedding for my niece, Amy and her new husband, Chris.
From the initial contact, Chuck provided valuable information and guided me through the protocol of a contemporary, backyard celebration. He acted as a wedding coordinator and kept the party moving and dancing.Chuck sang and played a wide variety of music that appealed to all ages. Without Chuck, it would have been just a wedding. Chuck was amazing! I am from Houston, Texas, and got married in Destin last week. My friends and family loved that my ceremony began and ended with Chuck blowing a conch shell, it was so unique. The steel drums sounded beautiful and provided the perfect music for our outdoor sunset ceremony. The music during the reception was awesome, and everyone there had the time of our lives dancing (and sore feet the next day). 5 stars all the way for Chuck!!!

My wife, family, and I are very happy with Chuck's performance this last weekend. From the little touches he put on all the classic songs to make them more personal to us and our family, to the professionalism he displayed in being on time and hassle free(wedding, reception, breaks for dinner and desert, good mix of songs), Chuck truely loves entertaining at a high level.

I hate to be the person to write a bad review, but I feel like I owe it to other brides. Chuck Lawson is a very nice person, but from a business contract perspective, he disappointed us. The wedding ceremony music, by Chuck, was good. My wedding was on the beach and he played the steel drums during the ceremony, which was great for a beach wedding. However, the reception music, the most important in my mind, was just not up to par. He forgot the type of music we agreed upon him playing (80's and Motown) classic wedding music. Also, he never played anything from my "must play song list" (a cd he had me make for him). These were things he and I discussed when going into contract together, types of music we wanted and/or did not want. Chuck just failed to follow through. I would recommend anyone considering Chuck Lawson to meet him first and listen to him play for a crowd, it seems he just will not stray from the sound he wants. I wish I had done a little more research in this area.

We hired Chuck Lawson for our rehearsal dinner. He was excellent! He is very entertaining, enthusiastic and our guests had a great time while listening to him. It was my birthday and he even played happy birthday! Very, very fun and talented guy!

You must have Chuck at your wedding! EVERYONE at my wedding was so impressed, he is way better than a boring old DJ. He is unique & professional! I used him at my ceremony & reception on August 4th. I wanted my wedding to be special & something everyone would remember & Chuck had a big part making it so cool. He is a great entertainer with an awesome voice. Chuck is an amazing and engaging musician! He played the steel drums at our beach wedding and also played and sang at our reception. He made it so easy for me as a bride. Chuck did a great job, he played somewhere over the rainbow on the beach and it was awesome. He was also a great DJ/Live musician for the reception. He was fun and personable and a pleasure to work with.

Chuck Lawson did a fantastic job on our wedding July 20th, 2010! He even learned and sang music we gave him to play for the ceremony. He was wonderful and we would definitely reccommend him to others.

I can't believe there aren't more reviews posted for Chuck yet. He is so popular and well worth every penny, I was expecting to see so many reviews. But then again, our wedding was July 2010 and look how long it took to finally get around the review.

Anyway, well, where should I start? The first conversation I had with Chuck while shopping for a DJ/musician for our beach wedding lasted over an hour! He was just so engaging, attentive, and it was clear from the get go that he was a professional with extensive experience. He was just really pleasant to work with from the beginning to the end...and WAS SUPERB on our wedding day. He was the MC, the DJ, and the band and I can't tell you how much we enjoyed having him there....he really knew how to put the ambiance of a fun beach paradise, and as he promised, all our worries were gone when we decided to hire him. He was so interactive and fun during the reception, our guest just loved him! He is quite talented and now that we're looking at our wedding videos more often, I'm realizing even more about how blessed we were to have him!
