I loved that she would study the different tones and color variations of the skin and used a blend of makeup to camouflage discoloration and enhance beauty. What's awesome is that the end result looks like natural skin and not "cakey" in the slightest. At the end of the night, it still looked fresh!

Loved working with Jo El. She came to my apartment a few months before the wedding to do a trial run. She took detailed notes and pictures so she could recreate the look on my wedding day. On the day of I wanted to make a few changes and she was great about it. My makeup was stunning.

Jo El did an amazing job on my makeup. When the trial didn't go as planned (I changed my mind constantly), she worked with me to make sure it was right. When I was worried about time the day of the wedding, she found a way to curb that stress by bringing an assistant. Her work was fantastic; better than expected, and she had a glowing personality that added to the excitement of the day. I would recommend her to anyone.

Jo El is fabulous!!! She is sweet and extremely talented! She made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! She is low key and was able to accentuate my natural features instead of trying to over power my face with loads and loads of make-up. I was not able to give her any direction in terms of what I wanted or expected...but yet she was able to give me all I ever would have wanted and so much more than I could have expected. And amazingly, I still looked great at 5am when the party finally ended!

This was the first time I had ever let anyone else other than myself do my makeup, so I was really nervous at first. But as soon as I met JoEl I knew I was in good hands. Her lovely personality put me at ease during the makeup application. I have red hair and freckles and I actually love them. So she made sure that the makeup accented the types of outfits I was wearing for my shoot as well as my red hair. I was also glad that she put just enough make up on to even out my skin tone but let my freckles show. I was very, very pleased with how my makeup looked! :)

Jo El and her assistant did the makeup for my wedding on 08/14/10. They handled me, 5 bridesmaids, and my mom and got us all done on time. Jo El uses top-of-the-line products, and she is very meticulous when it comes to using clean and sanitized brushes, etc. She tailored my makeup to fit my look and had no problem making adjustments according to my preferences. When the bride walks down the aisle, the first thing everyone looks at
is her radiant face. I consider it a great honor when I am chosen to
be the bride's makeup artist. There is something so magical about
being in the same room as the bride as she prepares for the most
important day of her life. She is surrounded by her closest friends
and the atmosphere is so serene and intimate. It is a tremendous
privilege to be invited in to such a personal setting and it's an
honor I don't take lightly. In exchange for this trust I try to exceed
all of her expectations by arriving early, being prepared for
anything, and contributing to the peaceful atmosphere as well as
making her as radiant and glowing as possible!
Bridal makeup application Includes consultation, trial application,
and day of wedding makeup.- $120
Engagement Photos/Bridal Package Special For only $25 more you will
receive an extra makeup session to be used for either engagement
photographs or bridal portraits. This also includes a trial bridal
makeup application, and day of the wedding makeup. - $145
Bridesmaids Matching foundation including full coverage and sculpting
of the features, blush, expertly applied eye makeup, mascara, and lip

What is your process for an initial bridal consultation?
I recommend brides start collecting magazine photos or other images of the makeup style they are looking for as well as photos of your wedding gown and accessories. When we meet for the consultation these pictures are invaluable and will give me a more accurate idea of the look you wish to create. We'll discuss the style; natural, dramatic, or somewhere in the middle before I apply the makeup for your trial makeup session. Allow at least two hours for the trial application. I will keep working until we get the perfect look that will make you feel glowing, confident, and beautiful for your wedding day.
Notes will be taken as well as documented photos so I'll be able to accurately re-create the same bridal makeup on your big day. I require payment in full after the consultation which will also reserve your spot.
On location - Where do you apply the makeup?
I can apply makeup anywhere there is a table (and that term is used loosely), a chair, and adequate lighting. I can apply the makeup at your house, a hotel, or the church.
Do you charge an additional fee to come on location?
Travel cost is included within 60 miles of Jacksonville. I charge a modest travel fee for mileage above that or for remote locations that require more than a 60 minute drive.
What time should we start the makeup the day of the wedding?
If your photo shoot or wedding starts at 4:00, I would recommend doing makeup no later than 2:30. That way we will have a full hour for the application of makeup, plus give you an additional half an hour to take care of any last-minute odds and ends that always seem to come up right before the ceremony begins!
What kind of Makeup do you use?
I use high-quality Joe Blasco and MAC makeup products that are specifically designed for print or film giving the model a flawless finish.
What about retouching?
After I finish with the makeup I always leave a "touchup kit" that includes a sponge, a full size powder puff, lipstick brush, and a palette with a sampling of the foundation and the lipstick.
