Cinevent Productions

I booked Cinevent to film my wedding in july and could not be happier. Not to sound cheesy but the video really captures the day as I remember it perfectly. I have watched it countless times and I still see little details that I missed. If your considering hiring a videographer for your wedding i would highly recomend Cinevent productions.

I truly love working with Jay from Cinevent. I booked them last year for my wedding this coming November and let me tell you, they do such an awesome job. I have had so many questions and he replies quickly. They are very affordable compared to other cinematographers and I can not wait for my wedding but most of all, I can not wait for the magic Cinevent will film for me. They have so many ideas and work with you in every way. I highly recommend Cinevent Productions, imagine that, I have not yet had my wedding video and here I am recommending them!! I can't even begin to explain how happy I was with Cinevent Productions at my wedding! They did such an amazing job! They were so professional and helpful! After the wedding, my husband and I were talking about how we didnt even realize they were there filming half the time. They stayed out of the way, which was exactly what we wanted! They were basically like flies on the wall. Our video is absolutely stunning too. We feel like we're watching a movie, but it's actually our wedding :) I think we've watched it like 100 times already. I've already recommended Cinevent to ALL of my friends who are getting married and would 100% recommend them for your wedding. You won't be disappointed!!

I highly recommend Cinevent Productions. Jay is awesome to work with and they are very creative. I met with them once and already feel confident my video, or should I say wedding Movie will be so beautiful!!! My wedding will be in November and I booked them last year, as soon as I saw their work and met with Cinevent, I stopped looking. I searched for over a year and their prices by far are the cheapest for what you are getting, honestly, very good prices! Jay and crew are so creative, never did I think I would be so excited about my video. Cinematography is something new for me, I had never seen it and now I know the difference between videography and cinematography. Videography is your normal video, now Cinematography is a film/movie like video. Soooo beautiful!! Weddings last one day but your video will last a lifetime. I can not wait to show it off to as many people as I can, especially with Cinevent I know for a fact it will be amazing!!! I will post a link to my video, but not until 8 months from now...LOL. Sorry but I can't wait! Jay is very reliable and gets back to you very quickly, even if you ask 1000 questions at a time!

I cannot thank Daniel and Jay enough for their terrific work and complete professionalism.

Our wedding day went by in a blur, but thanks to Jay and Daniel, we are able to relive by watching our gorgeous wedding video!

I want to give them 10 stars!!!! Daniel and jay and the crew of Cinevent were amazing!!! We are still amazed at their professionalism and the videos they produce!!! We had decided to do their episodic slideshow. When they came to interview us, we felt so comfortable with them and they made is camera-shy ppl feel at ease. On the weddin day, they were punctual, professional (abided by our church's strict rules), and super non-intrusive. I don't think our guests even knew they were around! The slideshow turned out amazing!! But our same day edit turned out to be a HUGE HUGE hit!!! up to this day, we are getting complements from so many ppl, even strangers who have seen it on Facebook. We can't be more happy with the team and videos!!!!! One of the top vendors we had for our wedding. Worth every penny!!! Thank you so much cinevent!!

My wedding was only four weeks ago, so we have not yet received our video. I'll try to add to this review once I have the final product.

From what I've seen on their website, I'm really looking forward to a beautiful wedding video.

I had to give them a 3/5 for responsiveness, because just a week before the wedding (while other vendors are contacting me and making everything set) I didn't hear a peep from Cinevent. I tried calling and emailing, and finally got a response when I found one of the guys on facebook. He apologized and explained that something was wrong with their voicemail system and web server so they never got my messages. Still, it had been several months since I paid them in full ahead of time, and now that the wedding was about to happen, they weren't taking the initiative to finalize things with me? Strange!

I wish they'd taken more initiative in finalizing things with me, but on the day they worked very hard and I'm really looking forward to seeing the final product!

Heh. I do not recommend Cinevent Productions. The end product was good, but the process I went through to actually get my product (that I paid $4,000 for in Oct. 2010) was ridiculous. Here we go:

Our contract stated that we would receive our DVDs 10-12 weeks after our wedding, which was 5/28/11. I think I contacted them for the first time in September when we hadn't heard anything all summer. After several "it'll be in the mail tomorrow" emails from Cinevent, we finally received a "rough cut" of our DVD in mid-November. Mind you, they didn't tell us they were sending us an incomplete DVD, so I kinda freaked out when I saw that it did not include the contracted bonus features, just a 40-minute vignette of the day. (Bonus features meaning, full ceremony, reception toasts, etc). Also, the DVD came in a simple paper sleeve with my last name scribbled in Sharpie on the DVD. Anyway, after I inquired as to the additional footage and menu, Jay explained it was a rough cut to make sure we liked it before they completed our project. Fair enough. Would be nice to communicate that ahead of time though.

We finally got the completed DVD in February, but some tweaks needed to be made, and we didn't get the FINAL dvds (including bluray) until March. (Oh, the finalized DVDs still came in paper sleeves, with our names printed on the DVDs. I realize an actual case was not specified in the contract, but for the price/common decency/professionalism, I figured it was a given). I'd recommend against ordering the blu-ray- apparently technology/cost limit them to only putting the 40-minute vignette on the bluray, and no menu either. Jay said they told us this when we signed the contract, but I don't remember that (especially as it was a year and a half ago that I signed on with them). I asked for $100 back, as I think that's how much the blu-ray cost. Jay said he'd send me a check- that was March 20. Still haven't gotten it.

You may be reading this and thinking I'm a jerk for being tough on Cinevent. Let me say, though, that not only was our final product delivered 10 months (instead of 3 months) after our wedding- the whole time I noticed them posting wedding videos on their facebook... Weddings that took place long after our wedding. So, they had time to edit other peoples' videos (you know, they gotta show off they shot a wedding in Italy), but not enough time to complete our project. Especially in the beginning of this process, communication was not their strong point. I actually worried that they had lost our footage and were stalling.

If you don't mind waiting for a very long time for something you paid thousands of dollars for a long time ago, then you may want to consider Cinevent. Their work is actually good! I work in film, so I may be a little critical. But I'm glad to have something to show our kids one day.

Originally, my husband and I didn\'t even want videography at our wedding. I have seen WAY too many cheesy wedding videos and didn\'t want that for us. After much discussion we decided we would have to have it. I asked our photographer if she had anyone she could recommend and she came back with one name: Cinevent Productions. After reviewing some of their samples we were convinced! We met with Jay and we were able to get secure an excellent deal by paying in advance. On the day of our wedding I barely even noticed they were there! Our package included day of editing to be played back at the reception. This is the only video we have seen so far and it is BEAUTIFUL! I love the back and forth shots of my husband and I getting ready, the moments of our first look, and of course the clips of our ceremony. Our guests were blown away as well! We have gotten so many complements on this video...people I show it to get weepy watching it! I can\'t wait to see what else the guys at Cinevent have in store for us. I am so excited to see the rest of our video!!!!\r\n\r\nEdit-\r\nI have brought down our overall rating for this vendor. Our contract stated we would have our video back in 10 weeks...it took 8+ months to get a rough cut (not even fully finished product).

DO NOT HIRE THEM!! Let me say that I was thoroughly impressed by the videos I saw online and so I decided to go with Cinevent Productions. At first, they were very responsive with answering my questions up until I paid them in full. I communicated via email with Jay Diaz, who assured me that someone will contact me the week before my wedding to get the details about what I wanted to shoot, time, place, etc. I did extra work by emailing them my itinerary for the day, my contact list of other vendors/contacts of bridesmaids to ensure that everything was in order. Unfortunately, no one contacted me as promised, but I figured, they're professionals..uh, no. The day of my wedding, I had to postpone it for a good 40 minutes because the videographer was "lost", even though I had mailed them my itinerary with addresses and phone numbers (to call in case you get lost!). I had to stall the wedding to call and email them, to find out that the guy was lost and will be on his way shortly... I had to just start my tea ceremony (traditional asian wedding portion) without the videographer, so he missed half of that [Strike #1]. The thing that annoys me is that they messed up and got lost, why didn't they call to let me know?? Why did I have to call them in the midst of everything I had to do?? And I had to call multiple times, with multiple voicemails left to finally get a call back. Now come to the reception at the restaurant, when I was walking around the tables to greet my family and make speeches, I wanted to make sure it was caught on video.... where did I find my videographer? Oh, he was making himself comfortable at one the tables and eating my food [Strike #2]. Now after the wedding, the whole 10-12 weeks is nonsense. I had to email them in Dec and Jan 2011, they said there's a high volume but I will be put on "high priority" since they messed up. Months pass, no response until I emailed them again in Oct 2011, finally they said it's ready, send us songs. I emailed them in March 2012, asking them how many songs, no response. Emailed three times weeks later, April 2012, no response. Called them as well, finally someone answered, but did not have any answers. [Strike #3] It's been 1 year, 5 months later.... I'm feelilng like I'm never getting a video at this point. I'm hoping they didn't loose the footage or something. Now Jay did try to remediate the situation (for the guy missing half my tea ceremony) with "extra" montage or highlights video... But hey, how about I just get something, anything!! To sum it up: horrible communication, lacked professionalism (be on time for a wedding, read the itinerary so you know where to be), did not deliver...literally.
When/if I finally get my video and am pleased with the results, I can update. As for now, this is my opinion of them.

I love working with the Cinevent Production team, they are truly awesome. They are def on my preferred vendor list.

You will NOT find a more talented cinematographer for your wedding day. Jay and his team are amazing at what they do, and your wedding video will be a work of art. Always fun and professional, if you want the best, Cinevent is it.
