CITY CLUB ON BUNKER HILL

My husband and I chose the City Club for our ceremony and reception venue because we didn't want to assume the risk associated with outdoor weddings. At the same time, we wanted to avoid the standard hotel/banquet hall reception in a room with no windows. The City Club's spectacular panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles and beyond gave us that special something that we were looking for.

Ernest was our coordinator at the City Club and we couldn't have asked for someone better to work with! He was enthusiastic, communicative, detail-oriented, and did everything within his power to make our wedding day exactly how we envisioned at a cost that was within our budget.

Service was also exceptional at the City Club. Wait staff was very friendly and professional. We got several compliments on the hors devours and dinner menu (prime rib and chicken breast) from our guests.

The only complaint is that parking is $8 per car even WITH validation. Before the wedding, this made visiting the City Club somewhat expensive (ie: for meetings, tastings, ceremony rehearsal, etc). On the day of the wedding (a Saturday), we also hosted this parking for $8 per car for the whole day of parking.

I would recommend City Club on Bunker Hill to anyone looking for a classic, romantic, city location for their venue! The Event Coordinator, Ernest, was very easy to work with and handled all my frantic, random questions with ease. We felt the menu had a wide selection for a range of budgets - and even the lowest priced package had great options. Our experience with the tasting was awesome - they really knew how to make us feel special AND the food was amazing! Huge portions with great flavors and details!

Oh, how I loved the City Club on Bunker Hill! After looking at seemingly every wedding venue in the Southern California area, we were getting frustrated. They were all either too expensive, didn't have our date, never returned our calls/e-mails, made appointments and didn't show up- you name it, we dealt with it. Finally, I decided we should get married and have our reception where we met- on the campus of USC with a reception downtown.

I found the City Club, and thought it was a unique venue. Something different. Kim Kelley, our event coordinator there, returned every e-mail I sent, every call I made, and at our first meeting, was so helpful and professional that I knew I'd found my place.

The City Club is located at the top of the Wells Fargo building, and has a view to die for. The decor is modern, tasteful, and gorgeous. It has floor to ceiling windows that offer views of some of LA's most famous landmarks- Dodger Stadium, the Hollywood sign, the Griffith observatory- it's breathtaking. You feel like you are in a swanky club when you enter....well, I guess you are, really! At our menu tasting, the staff made us feel like royalty, serving us a delicious meal in a private dining room. And the food- the food is amazing. My husband said it was the best prime rib he's ever had, and our guests raved about everything from the cheese display to the miniature beef wellington we chose as one of our hors d'ouevres. Chef Derek is amazing.

I could go on and on about Kim and the staff. They are so attentive, and treated our guests so nicely. We ran late to the reception, and Kim was waiting for us at the door and swooped us right in and up to the club, and our grand entrance was flawless.

The City Club is perfect for any bride who loves Los Angeles, and wants something different, fun, unique and affordable for their reception. Honestly, the City Club beat out every other venue we looked at (Redondo Beach Library, Palos Verdes Country Club, La Venta Inn, Verandas) as far as quantity and most importantly, quality for our dollar. You can't go wrong with the City Club. It's a gorgeous venue that will leave your guests impressed! I honestly cannot think of one negative experience we had.

Thank you, to all of the staff, and especially Kim Kelley, who created a reception that was beyond our wildest expectations. We'll never forget it!

This is a fantastic location! It is private, gorgeous views, outstanding staff, and very reasonablely-priced. Since they only book one private event on the weekend, your wedding is the only thing happening. This means you have 100% of the staff's attention and services. Also, they don't nickel and dime you for everything. For example, we paid hor d'eauves per person...not per piece.

They have 2 pricing sheet...member and non-member. The non-member prices are pretty reasonable too. Maria was our coordinator and she was great.

Only reason why I did not give them 5 stars was the way they charged us on the alcohol. Our contract, specifically stated per drink and they charged us per bottle. They never were able to explain how they determine how they calcalated how tab to our satisfaction.
