City of Commerce Flowers

I cannot recommend City of Commerce Flowers enough. I worked with Duke and he was so receptive and thoughtful throughout the entire process. I came in with very few inspiration pictures because I was unable to find pictures of exactly what I wanted, but Duke took the bits and pieces from all of the pictures I bought and put them together to make the most beautiful centerpiece mock-up at our next meeting. He totally rolled it when I completely changed the centerpieces from tall to short and when I called at the last minute to add individual flowers to be placed at each place setting.

On the day of I was so impressed with the flowers - they were gorgeous and there was so many of them. My bouquet was beautiful and smelled amazing and included flowers that I never mentioned to him, but just looked perfect when they were all together. We received so many compliments on our flowers and I just kept finding new arrangements at our venue throughout the evening and thought they were all so beautiful.

They were also like super earlier in delivering our flowers, and when I asked Duke about it he said that he always sends his guys a couple of hours early because "they can either sit her waiting to deliver to you, or they can sit at your venue." I so appreciated this with how crazy LA traffic was and it just made me feel like my wedding was a top priority to them.

City of Commerce Flowers was also so reasonably priced - I thought I was going go into shock when I saw our quote it was so much lower than what I thought it would be. I got quotes for the same number and size of arrangements for almost double the price other places!

We just met with Eddie yesterday, for our consultation. I liked him immediately - he is genuinely friendly, and clearly loves his work. He was organized and patient, and spent well over an hour with us, just chatting about our wedding. I'm sure he's done it hundreds of times but he never seemed bored or impatient. It was fun to tell him all about my "vision" and he seemed to understand everything right away. He also drew pictures of my ideas which was really cool to watch, and that just enforced to me that he really understood what I wanted.

The quote we received was extremely reasonable - less than I thought - and he never made us feel bad about having to stick to a budget. He even gave us tips on how we could save money. Such a nice guy - after meeting him, I can't imagine going elsewhere. AND (since yesterday was the final game between Lakers/Celtics), he even turned on the game for FI to watch on a mini TV he had set up next to our table! FI absolutely LOVED that! hehe.

I'll update after our follow-up meeting (where he shows us a mockup of our centerpiece and a BM bouquet), but I'm 99% sure we'll book them.

UPDATE (7/14/08) - We just booked Eddie today. I was a little disappointed that he forgot to make our mockup of the bridesmaid bouquet, but the pomander ball he made for our centerpieces was really cute. I think he could tell I was a little sad, so he tried really hard to make me feel better and promised to make a mockup closer to our wedding date, when ranunculus comes into season. I'm still confident that Eddie will do a great job on our wedding day. I'll update again after the wedding!

Update (7/4/09) - Our flowers on our wedding day were beautiful! At our final meeting before the wedding, Eddie was really helpful with figuring out the final touches for our arrangements and extra decorations. When I saw everything on our wedding day, it all looked really nice and he'd followed our requests exactly. Our personal flowers especially were beautiful - I LOVED my bouquet, it looked amazing.

The only thing I was not 100% happy with were the hardiness of the pomanders - they looked lovely during our ceremony, but I noticed during the reception, it looked like some of the flowers had fallen out of a couple of them them and they looked a little bare. Other than that, though, everything turned out beautifully. They are also so reasonably priced!

While researching florists I had visited Duke at Commerce Flowers for a consultation.

Commerce Flowers was recommended to us by my brother and sister in law so I was looking forward to the meeting. We worked with Duke, who is very sweet and friendly and told lots of funny stories.

The things I liked about commerce flowers was that Duke was very imaginative when it came to floral arrangements as in round globular arrangements rather than a square vase arrangements; using strings of pears and crystals rather than just one or the other and so forth.

Duke told us many stories of how he worked with celebrity weddings and parties (particularly Selma Hayek) you can really tell he enoys what he does.

The thing I didn't like about Commerce Flowers was that when Duke was in his creative mode during our conversation he didn't really take into account our input of what we wanted nor did he ask us specifically what we wanted. He would just sketch out what came to his mind and show us what he thought would be pretty and when I would start to make a comment or opinion he would say "don't worry it will be beautiful!" and move on with his next sketch.

When to came to writing up our quote he just scanned what he had written out into a PDF and emailed it to me. This was kind of hard to read but I guess it got the job done.

The pricing was a bit high for what we were looking to pay so we ended up not going with Commerce Flowers. Though we did enjoy our conversation with Duke and I am sure their work is beautiful we ended up going with another florist that provided the same quality work with a much lower price tag.

OMG... Commerce Flowers are great!! I just booked them this past Sunday. I am getting married April 17, 2010 and had been looking for a florist that would meet my budget. As soon as we walked in to see our final sample we were amazed on how big and beautiful our arrangements were. Duke is wonderful helpful and very very patient!!!!! Trust me it doesn't get better than this!!! I wasted alot of time with other florist that wanted to charge me alot!!!

Eddie and the City of Commerce Flowers team were easily one of my favorite vendors to work with. Eddie made my vision for the wedding come alive and better than I could possibly imagine. Flowers were the one area I was willing to splurge on. Luckily it turned out to be very reasonably priced. Believe me, I looked around at at least 5 different florists. They all wanted to charge me over $2500 for my smallish wedding. Besides the unbeatible prices, Eddie provided wonderful customer service. They were the only florist that allowed me to look at the mockup of a centerpiece and bm bouquet without booking! I was also able to take home the bouquet for free (I love all things free :) They just made everything incredibly convenient for us on our wedding day. First by sending out two separate delivery trucks, one for our personal flowers to be delivered to our hotel rooms and the second to the ceremony and reception. Later they picked up all the rental items immediately after the wedding for free. The flowers were abundant and they even threw in extras including an arrangement for our sweetheart table. They really are the best in the SoCal Floral industry!

I found Commerce Flowers on PW, and we are happy we went with them. We were about 3 months from the wedding and didn't have a florist yet. The whole wedding was a bit of a rush job, and my husband and I were 500 mi away from the wedding sites, but Eddie saw our need and worked his magic.

We had only gone to one other florist and they were only giving us generic quotes with fixed prices - quite a contrary thing. I wasn't comfortable with that. I'm very visual and needed to see mock ups to sign a contract and part of what attracted me to Commerce was that they provide mock-ups free of charge.

Also we wanted to keep things local, sustainable and MINIMAL with flowers. The minimal thing was partially for cost but more because as much as I love fresh flowers, I find them horrible wasteful. People were saying to get potted plants so that the flowers wouldn't be cut, but I didn't like the way that looked. So there we were..needing flowers but not really wanting them.

Eddie heard me out and found a way to make it work. He gave us what we needed and way under budget.

I loved the personal pieces. My bouquet was perfect and the BM ones too,though they were a bit small.

I'll admit on the day of I was a bit underwhelmed with the reception centerpieces. For some, I had given him a picture of what we wanted and what turned out wasn't quite what I expected. For the others we had to do a last minute adjustment because the parents didn't like the minimalistic quality of the mock up Eddie had done. I LOVED the original but was sick of dealing with one of the parents, so we asked Eddie to help and told him what the parents wanted. He did exactly what we asked..it just wasn't my taste. But overall given the time, the budget and the circumstances, Commerce flowers did a great job.

The Commerce flowers crew were also great. They got their job done in a timely matter and stayed to make sure things were okay with everything they set up.

i am very picky when it comes to flowers. however, i didn't want to spend a fortune on something that would not last nor would my budget allow for me to use my dream floral design studios. i had a very tight budget for the scale of our wedding and the amount of flowers i wanted. eddie was the only florist i found who could do everything i wanted, and then some, within my budget. while i had a very clear, specific direction prepared prior to meeting with any florists, i also wanted creative input and suggestions. eddie was able to fill in the gaps for me and round out my vision. he also duly noted and respected nitpicky details i wanted changed at our mockup meeting (which occurs before signing a contract or handing over a deposit at commerce flowers). despite being a rather large shop that does many weddings a weekend, they do take care of you through their personable and attentive customer service.

although i was a bit disappointed that the corsages and bouts were not what we had originally planned, eddie did warn me from our initial consultation that the exact flowers i wanted were difficult for him to source at that time of year. he called me as soon as he knew about the lack of availability and suggested what sounded like a great substitute at the time. when the personal flowers were delivered to my hotel room (ahead of schedule, i should note), i realized i had misunderstood the types of substitute flowers we had discussed on the phone. one quick phone call and barely over an hour later, we had new flowers in the correct color. he also let us keep the "wrong" colored flowers, so our extended family and musicians got flowers, too!

My sister and I say the reviews on project wedding and immediately made an appointment. Our first and last appointment was made with Duke. We went in and told him our budget, which we were a little nervous to say. He worked with us and gave us a layout of everything, right there and then he did a trial of the centerpiece and he sold me, there was no turning back. Not only that he was so comfortable and thoughtful of what I had envision for that day. He was amazing! I showed him a picture of the bouquet I wanted, and asked if he thought he could do something like it, but that it would stay within the budget. He told me "Whatever you want, it is your special day." What more can I can say?

So i showed up 2 days before the wedding to pay and i say this lady working on a amazing bouquet and asked if that was mine and she said yes. It was beautiful, words can not explain it, she even added these white feather which totally screamed me! I loved it, everyone complimented me on it!Then I called to ask if there was any possible way that they could put the flower on my cake and he said of course. But i was having a problem trying to get my cake there earlier. So i just ask duke if he could bring the flower and my aunt would put them on.

The day of the wedding came and he waited for the cake to arrive and he personally put the flowers on the cake. It came so out lovley.

I couldn't have asked for anything more. There work was truly beautiful. It was perfect, they worked hard at it. Not only that it was pleasure meet such kind hearted people and that love what they do!

WOW!!!! I still can’t believe how beautiful our flowers were. I wanted to make sure that I was able to find a vendor that could produce something unique and beautiful. Eddie was able to do that for me. You get plenty of flowers for your money and everyone is super nice. Eddie went above and beyond. Commerce Flowers really outdid themselves. They delivered our personal flowers earlier that morning to my hotel room. I was a little disappointed when they arrived because the BM flowers were not exactly the way I wanted them, but after looking at them a bit, they were still beautiful. Eddie was amazing. He went out of his way to find the perfect shade of orange roses for me during our planning process. Throughout the night, I constantly got tremendous compliments on how beautiful the flowers were. When I first arrived at the museum, I was blown away at how beautiful they were. The manzanita branches were breathtaking, the low centerpieces were bigger and better than my mock ups, and the pomander balls were full with flowers. What’s great about Commerce is that they will do prototype centerpieces for you before you even book with them. They want to make sure that you will be happy with what you’re paying for. Most places will only do this for you after you pay your deposit with them. No wonder they don't need advertising. They get their business through word of mouth.

I highly recommend City of Commerce Flowers! They are great to work with, have affordable prices, have attention to detail and deliver high end products! I can't recommend the enough!

I worked with Duke for my wedding. I chose this florist since my husband grew up in the City of Commerce, and they received great reviews on PW. I was a little worried throughout the planning process because the "contract" was literally Duke's handwritten notes on a torn piece of paper, instead of a spreadsheet on the computer. When he gave me the final estimate, the math did not add up. After an hour of trying to decipher what was written on the piece of paper, I called Duke to straighten out the estimate. Duke was very easy to work with and adjusted the price immediately.

The flowers were absolutely amazing the day of the wedding! I loved every bouquet and every arrangement! Duke got my color combo perfectly (yellow, red and orange). The only thing I would do differently would be to give Duke a swatch of fabric of the bridesmaids dresses. Instead of a "buttercup yellow" ribbon like he promised, he tied the bouquets and flower girl basket with a "lemon yellow." I probably could of made a nice flower girl basket myself, but then again I can't complain b/c he threw that in for free.

Duke's prices were unbeatable. (He probably cuts costs by not typing up the contract!) The flowers were amazing! Everything was set up by the time I arrived at the venue. I would highly recommend City of Commerce Flowers, as long as you know to expect a handwritten quote and are able to go through the quote with a fine tooth comb since I did find several mistakes throughout the planning process. I would use City of Commerce Flowers again in the future.

I am so excited to have Eddie at Commerce Flowers doing the flowers for my spring wedding! Eddie is fantastic, very friendly and attentive. He listened to all my crazy spring themed ideas, and gave me beautiful centerpiece mock ups! Truly beautiful flowers, and on a budget! Eddie has managed to stay within my small budget, despite my huge bridal party. Eddie and Commerce Flowers have been a delight!

Eddie delivers!! His prices are reasonable and his quality is superb. People are still talking about my bouquet!!

I heard about Commerce flowers through a friend and you know when you get referred, they are going to be great...and they definitely met our expectations!!

I called them about five months before my wedding to schedule a meeting. My mom and I (my husband didn't care too much about flowers, lol) ended up meeting with one of the owners, Duke. He was great and very funny, too!! I told Duke exactly what I wanted; type of flowers, colors and where I wanted the flowers. I had been to a couple florists before and for what I wanted, these places were too expensive! I knew I wanted roses and hydrangeas, which are usually very expensive flowers. Duke offered a price that we couldn't pass up!

This is a family owned florist that specializes in weddings and they do 8-10 a weekend! I was a little concerned that because they had so many they may forget something, but nope, they definitely went above and beyond to deliver the most beautiful arranagements for my ceremony and reception! The moment I was walking down the aisle and saw all of the beautiful flowers in the church I was so happy! :)

I would ask for Duke, even though he gets really busy and writes everything down on printer paper with a pen with hard to read writing, he is awesome and I promise won't disappoint.

If you're on a budget, and want beautiful flowers and friendly service, definitely go with City of Commerce Flowers. :)

I worked with Eddie from start to finish and he was just wonderful. First of all, their prices were great! I quoted other places and they were unbeatable! I had emailed the photo to Eddie and they copied it exactly the way I wanted it. He always returned my calls, answered my questions, faxed me info, etc… very great. I was so happy when I saw it.

Eddie was, by far, one of our favorite vendors to work with! He even gave me a nice talk to help put our wedding day in perspective and calm my nerves days before the wedding. He is detail-oriented and knows what he's doing. City of Commerce did a mock-up of our BM bouquet and centerpiece even before taking our deposit. Eddie also did a mock-up of our church pew decoration after I expressed some concerns about the size of it. If you pay with cash, you can negotiate the price of your floral arrangements as we did.

Eddie from City Of Commerce flowers did such and amazing job! The prices are so reasonable and were more then half of what I was being quoted from other florists! I would STRONGLY STRONGLY reccomend them.

People at the venue said they were the most beautiful flowers they have ever seen!!! Everything was set up exactly how I wanted and more. They even had flowers in the bathrooms!

Eddie had so many great ideas and fit right into our budget! It was more then I ever expected!

At Commerce Flowers, even though your on a budget they have great prices on wonderful flowers! Just remember to pick flowers that are in season, otherwise you’ll pay more. Luckily I already had photos of the bouquets and centerpieces I wanted (Thank you The Knot) and they were going to be in season so this task wasn’t too difficult.

On the day of the wedding the flowers looked AWESOME! From my bouquet to the Bridal Party’s bouquets and boutonnières and the décor for the reception. I only wished I had a vase of water with me all day to keep my bouquet fresh.

Eddie is a wonderful vendor! Before you even book with him, he makes a sample centerpiece and bridesmaids' bouquet that you get to take home for free! No other florist we interviewed offered this. He really listens to what you want for your wedding, but also adds suggestions without being pushy. A bonus: he's VERY reasonably priced. We booked with him and are excited to see our flowers on our wedding day this summer!

Update: Eddie is AMAZING! I am so glad we hired him. The flowers at my wedding were even better than I envisioned. I got so many compliments on my flowers. They really made my wedding!

Initially, my mother referred me to a friend of hers for our flowers for the wedding. That whole experience left quite a bad taste in our mouths. We were pretty discouraged about the whole decor of the wedding after talking to this florist. However, when we met with Duke at Commerce Flowers, all of our worries vanished. He worked with our budget and he pretty much got us everything we wanted. He and his family have been in the flower business for generations so he knows flowers. We gave him general ideas of what we wanted at our wedding and he delivered above and beyond what we could even imagine. I'd recommend Commerce Flowers to everyone. They're very talented and the price is quite reasonable.

Eddie did an AMAZING job with my flowers. I went in knowing absolutely nothing about flowers and had no specific requests beyond the color scheme (that, and I knew I liked stephanotis). I think that helped me keep the prices low, because he didn't have to run around looking for expensive out-of-season blooms and pretty much had free reign to do anything that looked nice and was in the right color family. I gave him a budget of $2000 for everything, he wrote up a quote on the spot that came to around $1800, and in the end he came in well under budget at around $1600. Eddie also does a trial centerpiece before you book him, and when we went in to see it, it almost brought me to tears!

On the day of my wedding, all of the flowers were perfect. My bouquet was stunning, the bridesmaids' bouquets held up all night even with the hydrangea in them (a big concern of mine, but he assured me they would stay fresh and beautiful, and they did), the centerpieces were vibrant and full without any filler that I noticed, and the gazebo decor was absolutely gorgeous. His guys even set up my pomanders and taped/pinned the aisle runner in place for no extra charge, and I'm sure that was quite a task! I provided the urns for the centerpieces since I wanted people to be able to take them home after the wedding, and we didn't have a single one left behind (my grandmother even stuffed the two altar arrangements into her backseat and took those home!). I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Eddie's work, and I would highly recommend him to anyone for their wedding.

City of Commerce Flowers was my favorite wedding vendor (along with my photographer). I worked with Eddie to plan the details of my wedding and he is so good at what he does. He has a lot of experience with weddings so he is very helpful when it comes to planning the perfect flowers, offering suggestions, etc. He is also very patient (our meetings would run for hours) and just an all around nice guy. He made mockups of both my centerpiece and bridesmaid bouquet before my wedding which was incredibly helpful. They did this at no charge! I was even more impressed with Commerce Flowers and with Eddie on my actual wedding day (when it really matters) because the flowers, decorations and bouquets were more gorgeous than I expected. They seriously blew me away on the day of and I received many compliments on how beautiful the flowers looked. I researched many different florists in the area, and I'm so glad I booked Commerce Flowers. They do superior work at very reasonable prices. It's no wonder they are the top rated wedding florist on Project Wedding - they are experts! I highly recommend Commerce Flowers!

The flowers were absolutely amazing!! Very unique and beautiful and totally captured my personality. Lindy was bit difficult to get ahold of though throughout the process, so I was often nervous that things would not be done properly. On the wedding day though everything was perfect!

Our flowers for our wedding were beautiful!! Eddie did an excellent job and couldn't be more helpful. We had a mock up of the centerpiece and we did not like some of the flowers, so the following day he had a new centerpiece delivererd to my mom's job so we can see if this is what we envisioned. I could not believe that they delivered the centerpiece, great service!!! On the day of the wedding, the centerpieces, corsages, boutineeres and the boquets were all beautiful! People kept talking after the wedding about how beautiful the flowers were. I highly recommend commerce flowers!!!

Let me say, that my flowers were just beautiful! I HIGHLY recommend them! They are also affordable! We looked at other florists and City of Commerce quoted us much less than others. Not only is it less expensive, the customer service and attention to detail is great. Eddie is so nice, and he is always aiming to please. On the day of my wedding, he personally delivered my bouquet to me and everything looked awesome! All flowers were just as they should've been! They overexceeded my expectations! DEFINITELY would recommend them!

Great price and beautiful flowers. They are really good at working with your ideas. (I bought 3 bouquets, 3 boutoniers, bridal bouquet, groom boutonier, 3 in-law corsages and 1 in-law boutonier.)

City of Commerce Flowers is awesome! They are incredibly affordable for the beautiful work that they do. And just as important, their customer service is amazing. Eddie is super-nice and really helpful in helping to design the right look for centerpieces and bouquets.

He is also great at helping you stay within your budget. After he drew up an estimate for my wedding, we realized that we were over my budget. Rather than scrap any part of the plan, he just modified various items to make them slightly cheaper and ended up being well-within my budget with arrangements that I found to be incredible. Paying with cash/check also saved us some.

His delivery people were all really nice, prompt and professional. All the personal flowers (bouquets and boutonnières) were promptly delivered hours before the ceremony for pre-ceremony photos and to make sure we had enough time in case we needed more or anything needed to be altered.

Overall, the arrangements and personal flowers were more amazing than I thought possible given the budgetary constraints we had and their professionalism exceeded all my expectations. Highly, highly recommend them!!

Eddie is magnificient. The first time that I met him, all I had to tell him was the color of my wedding and what I was looking for in the flowers. After that, he just asked me basic questions and recommended to me what flowers to have and what colors to use in the floral arrangement to make the colors pop. We set up a second appointment for me to look at the centerpiece and the bridesmaid bouquet. It looked beautiful. I literally was floored.

Their prices are really good. You get a lot for your money and they are very accomodating to your needs.

I cannot say enough about Eddie!!!! He was magnificient. He was able to get me peony for my bouquet which was shipped from Holland for my wedding on Jan. 24, 2009. They were sooo beautiful.

When I walked into my reception hall, my mouth literally dropped. All of his centerpieces were full and amazing. All of my guests could not believe how extravagant the centerpieces were and they thought I paid an arm and a leg, but in reality, for what I got, the price was very affordable. His flowers completely changed the atmosphere of my reception. They were absolutely beautiful.

If you are looking for someone who can transform your reception into your dream wedding at an affordable price, use City of Commerce Flowers and ask for Eddie.

Don't use this florist. After reading all the reviews, I was expecting a professional group to work with. Unfortunately what I got was poor communication, mediocore flowers and lots of attitude. You can find better work and professionalism. Don't waste your time and effort or money on this vendor, especially Eddie. Good luck getting a hold of him and having him remember your conversation.

I highly advise visiting City of Commerce flowers! They have the best prices available in Los Angeles and a fantastic ability to design whatever you can imagine and more! They are a fabulous group to do business with! My bride has been raving about how helpful Duke was!
