We loved having Lauren as the Event Planner, she is sweet, flexible and very helpful. All the staff had a great attitude and were really hospitable.
Everyone went above and beyond! We were more than happy with the outcome of our wedding reception!
Our wedding experience with Lauren Heinz at the Sand Key Marriott, Clearwater Beach, FL could not have been more delightful. Lauren was very knowledgeable with the surrounding vendors (flowers, cake, etc.) and her recommendations were nothing but perfect. This helped tremendously with our destination wedding. Any questions we had were promptly answered and she was very accomodating with our requests.
Our reception was located on their Cedarwood Terrace and the set-up was exactly what we had envisioned. It looked like a set-up from a magazine and our guests were in awe. (They are all still talking about it :) Lauren made sure everything was perfect and checked in on us throughout the night (which was very comforting in our eyes)
Our overall experience with the Marriott was wonderful and stress free! The staff made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality.
I highly recommend Lauren to every bride out there as well as the Sand Key Marriott! Great people and great hotel.
This was the best decision we made. Our wedding reception was the best EVER! Lauren was there for us when ever we needed her. She really went over the top to make sure our day was special. Our guest are still calling and emailing to let us know our wedding was the best one they have ever been to.
The food was great and the service was outstanding.
The Marriott on Sand Key is a wonderful place to have your wedding reception. I searched all throughout Clearwater Beach area for a vendor that provided a top notch venue, menu and open bar, without breaking the bank. Many places do not have a wedding coordinator, which is a huge advantage since you are not dealing with the catering director or someone else that is extremely busy doing other things. Also, you get a lot of bang for your buck at the Marriott. At an average cost of $70/person we were able to get cocktail hour appetizers, open bar for four hours, sit down dinner, cake cutting & serving and the great service of the wedding coordinator.
Everything on the day of the wedding went extremely smooth. It is fantastic having a coordinator there. I forgot to add one last minute person to a table and within a few minutes Lauren had a chair and place setting added for him. It was amazing. The wait staff was absolutely delightful as well.
We were most impressed with the quality of the dinner we received. We chose the steak and chicken (roast sirloin and bruschetta chicken). The steak was so tender we did not even need more than a butter knife to cook it!
I have recommended this venue to other people I know and hope you consider it for your future wedding :)
The Marriott (Lauren) was wonderful to work with. She did everything she could to accomodate us. We were supposed to have the reception outside and due to the weather being too cold, she was able to switch things all around and get us a room inside. The reception was fabulous!!
I had a beautiful ceremony at the Marriott. I had to plan all of this from out of state, so they were quick to respond to questions and answer emails. The ceremony was outside on the veranda deck. I was worried about the other guests in the hotel and at the pool being loud, but the Marriott did a fantastic job at keeping everyone respectful and quiet. I would come back there in a heartbeat.
I absolutely loved working with them!!! I went from having a small family reception to a great wedding party thanks to them... prices are so reasonable and the environment is so romantic and perfect for pictures.. the food awesome.. the events coordinator Courtney is awesome!! she understands everything you want and she is willing to work with you in every little detail!! I will always be thankful for all her help on my Big Day!! I looked for venues for almost a year until I finally found this one!! My wedding was perfect I wish I could put pictures here :)
We had our wedding reception at the Marriott on Sand Key. We did not visit before the weekend of our wedding, so we were unsure of how smoothly it would go and how nice the place would be. We were amazed by the location. The hotel was gorgeous and the room we had was perfect for us with a beautiful view. The staff was excellent-beyond excellent even. They exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. They truly helped make our special day memorable and amazing for all who attended.
We had our reception at the Marriott and it was absolutely fabulous. From the beginning the wedding coordinator, Desiree, worked with us to plan every detail. We used a lot of the vendors on their preferred vendor list and was not dissappointed in any one. The day of the wedding was perfect. I had hair and make-up done at the Spa on site, was let into our room early. we come back for pictures, had a cocktail reception outside and the most amazing reception inside. The staff was so great. They were all so kind and courteous and went out of their way to do things for us. They were all so friendly. The views are beautiful, the food was excellent, and we had a great room to spend our first night together. We will visit the Marriott again because of the excellent service and beautiful hotel with great pool and activities.
Desiree is excellent! She helped make our day truly special. The Marriott is a lovely venue. Everyone was friendly and treated us like we were very special. I enjoyed the entire process.

The Marriott was a wonderful place to have our cocktail and wedding reception. Our guest also stayed here. The customer service of all hotel staff was excellent. Desire was fantastic from start to finish. We are more than satisfied with this vendor and highly recommend them. Thank you to all the staff for making our Wedding Day unforgetable.
We were not very pleased with the hotel. Things started off bad with the room blocks. We had signed the contract and were told the room block was ready and people could start booking. A couple weeks later when our guests started to try to make reservations they weren't able too because the hotel said they had no block set aside for us. We tried to contact them numerous times to get an answer and no one could help us. Eventually, they went through someone's desk and found our paperwork and got things straightened out. I don't think the rooms were worth the money we spent though and my husband and I found cockroaches in our room on the wedding night.
We also rented a room to have our reception and were not pleased with that. The table decor they provided was nice but the service was terrible. There were some misunderstandings and they had refused to give us forks. And they wouldn't give us more clean plates for the cake. We finally got some forks out of them but they were very rude. Our contract also said that there would be pitchers of water and ice tea on every table and that did not happen. There was a glass of water but it was warm and they never came to refill them and there was never any ice tea.
They had also called us cheap. We were not very pleased with them.
The venue is beautiful....on the water over looking the Gulf. Aside from it's beauty, Ms. Desiree Jacobs, wedding coordinator from hotel, was magnificent. She went above and beyond to make our day extra, extra special. The level of expertise, professionalism, and enthusiasm was evident in everything she did. She worked closely with MMD Events (our decorators) to make the venue become the dream, fall on the beach wedding, we wanted. Desiree responded diligently to questions or concerns. She helped our dream come true. We had guests from TX, MA, CT, NJ, NY, Santo Domingo and FL and we were all amaze by the comfort, beauty, and service of the hotel. Suites are very comfortable and the view is breathtaking at any time of the day! It rained the day of the wedding and the hotel staff worked rapidly on getting the back up indoor set up...at the end, the sun came out and the wedding took place outside on the deck over looking the Gulf! It's breathtaking!!! It was beautiful. The food was fabulous and the Mojitos---like we never had before. Thank you Desiree Jacobs and the Marriott Suites for such a beautiful event!
