Comfort Suites Leesburg

I worked with Charity Martin for our room block. We had a very good room rate and Charity was always very pleasant to speak with. She always answered my questions and seemed like she really cared about the event and acted like it wasn't just a room block but a real event.

The weekend of the wedding the hotel had signs in the elevator for our wedding room block free shuttle that they were offering to our guests to ride to the reception site. They also had a welcome sign in the front of the hotel with our wedding names.

We did have several issues with people not getting their welcome bags when they checked in. I was told I could drop off the bags and a note would be left at the front desk as well as in everyone's guest profile so when they checked in, they would be handed a gift bag.

I dropped off the gift bags a day before the first guest was to check in and the very next day my first guest did not receive their guest bag. When I told them to go to the desk and ask for it the clerk told her that the bags were 'not ready' which is stupid because I am the one that created them all and gave them a day early.

Needless to say after my maid of honor, myself and several other people told the front desk they need to be handing them out, they still seemed to mess it up every time. I asked every guest as they checked in if they got it and some would say yes, some would say no. When I went down to the desk to complain, the clerk told me he didn't know what I was talking about and he didn't think there was any left. Which I know wasn't so because I made extra bags for each reservation. When I told him that he all of a sudden 'found' the bags.

I made a complaint to Charity (our group contact) and she was very nice about trying to solve the issue although it didn't seem to work but I do appreciate her efforts.

I also heard from some guests that the shuttle that left the hotel to the reception site did leave quickly and some people missed it. I also requested the shuttle arrive to pick guests up around 11:10pm so people would have time to see the bride & groom exit from the reception although the shuttle arrived early and was forcing people to get on or it was going to leave so there were several people who had to leave and miss our exit which was upsetting.

Overall the hotel was a good room rate except it would have been nice for guests to be able to make reservations online under the room block with th special rate. The hotel rooms I'd say were average but the price was right and the location was great.

This hotel came recommended from our caterer because it offers free shuttles to and from Whitehall for your wedding. It is located very close to the Leesburg outlets on Route 7. Rooms vary from singles, doubles, to suites. A complimentary continental breakfast is also offered in the morning. I was very pleased with the service from this hotel. After a last minute mix-up and I had to give my bridal suite away to some out-of-town guests the front desk was able to give my guests another room that they had held in reserve for incidents just like this and I was able to have my suite back. I was very happy! The hotel is very clean and I recommend for those getting married in the Leesburg area.

The people at Comfort Suites go out of their way to make sure every request of a guest for a Birkby House wedding is fulfilled. Always having a shuttle ready means a great deal to TBH. Thanks.
