Concorde Banquets

The Concorde was a fabulous venue for us and the owners/ managers, Peter and John, really were helpful whenever we needed them and went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and everything ran smoothly. We initially selected the Concorde because we'd been there for weddings before and it is a beautiful venue with great food- which can be challenging for any venue that is serving a large number of people. We ended up having a salmon/ filet mignon dinner plate combo and both were prepared wonderfully. Many guests complimented the food. We had selected the room with the largest dance floor with one additional room partition. It could have fit 300 and we were aiming for a minimum of 285 based on our contract, which we had signed about a year and a half before the wedding. When we only had about 250 guests, John worked to add some extras to our package to narrow the price difference between the contract we had signed and the number of guests we ended up with. The service was also very good during the wedding. The server who waited on my husband and I was very attentive and noticed when we returned to our seats to eat after visiting with guests and made sure that our cups were filled and plates were as well. Also, the manager that night (I can't remember her name) periodically checked with us to make sure that everything was running to our satisfaction. We concluded our wedding at the time of our contract (midnight), but we didn't feel rushed in terms of gathering the leftover desserts and centerpieces. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and helpful. Our guests loved the larger dance floor and extra space.One extra: my fiance and I were preparing a special wedding dance. John and Peter were completely open to us popping in a few times before our wedding, during the day when events weren't going on, to do a few practice runs on the dance floor, which was very nice and helpful. All in all, we were extremely pleased with how everything went. We couldn't ask for anything more.

We had fewer guests attend than we promised, but John was very accommodating - we still had to pay for the number of guests we promised them, but we got to take the food home instead of just having the $$ go to waste! Pictures outside turned out beautiful and the families took turns taking pictures on the staircase - beautiful location all around. People were raving about the food, too!

My partner and I had our wedding at Concorde just last night....it was the BEST NIGHT OF OUR LIVES!! John and Peter were fantastic! The bartender was quick and never light on the liquor! The bakery Concorde Banquets uses accomodate our very customized cake for an incredibly minimal charge! We couldn't be happier and would recommend Concorde Banquets to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion that looks like it cost a fortune but was exceptionally affordable. Thank you John & Peter & staff!!

Where do I begin??? For the Pros.... John was awesome. He was very professional polite and helpful. The food was awesome, Filet was cooked perfect, chicken Florentine was excellent. It is a pretty venue.For the Cons.... Peter.. was extremly unpleasant. The first encounter I had with him to pay our final payment the week before the wedding he was okay, but was very impatient when It came to answering my questions. Which Is not very helpful when your already nervous about planning a wedding. Apparently Peter assigned us a lady who was incharge of making sure our food was ok, she was the "food coordinator" but was introduced to us as a "wedding coordinator". This lady came to me at the end of the night and told me I was incharge of "breaking down " our centerpieces on all 13 tables, and emptying the 3 cylandar vases that were filled with water and pack them in their boxes. After I told her I did not pay to pack my stuff up at the end of the night she got extremely nasty and of course went to get Peter. When Peter came to "handle the situation" he was very condescending and asked me if the vases were mine...obviously they were. He said if they were mine I was to pack them up ...but could store there until the morning. I basically told him I did not pay to clean up. He told me they "don't do" any of the breaking down at the end of the night......pretty much after I refused to clean up they finally did it after I spent 20 minutes arguing my point. Very rude. He also shut the lights in the building off as my family members and husband were leaving carrying flowers, and gifts out which inturn made my husband drop what he was carrying. My suggestion to everyone looking at this venue is to KEEP LOOKING.

Concorde Banquets made planning our wedding reception very easy. They were able to work with all of our special requests and everything turned out beautifully. We were extremely pleased with everything they did. The food was excellent and the service was very classy.

This is the second wedding our family has had at Concorde. I must say that John made our daughters wedding very magical. The hall was beautiful. The appetizers were wonderful. The steak was cooked to perfection. The cherry Jubille was a great touch along with the cake and dessert table. The service was unbelievable and everything went very smooth.A bib thanks to all of you for a great job done!

My husband and I just got married at the Concorde in Oct 2009. We had several venues to choose from but in the end chose the Concorde. Where do I begin....with the good or bad?? Cons: Let's start with the bad since we left our reception upset and angry at the main gentleman, Peter. One thing you have to watch with Peter is the money! When you ask how much something is, you dont get a correct answer. We first had asked how much the table swag would cost. Then we went in again and it was higher. Then we asked how much the backdrop and lighting was since my inlaws were paying. He told them the amount but failed to mention they charge 25% service fee on that. In fact, they charge 25% fee on everything! (7% taxes and 18% service) The last thing that did it for us was the night of our reception. The Concorde owed us $538 for an overpayment. They said they would pay it the night of reception. Now I know why. They don't like to give credits! They find a way to keep your money. My husband asked to extend the reception by 30 minutes. Peter said it was $100. So we extended it. At the end of the night, he wouldnt give our credit back and said, "no, it was $638 for the extra 30 minutes". Peter never told us that and it was very random that the 30 minutes was the exact cost of our credit plus $100. VERY DECEITFUL!!!!!!! We argued with him and he did nothing. My father in law had to call the owner the next day. They only ended up giving 50% of it back! NOT GOOD BUSINESS! The pros: The venue was very nice, food was great, and overall was a good experience until they lied to us and ruined our night!

We had booked our wedding at Concorde a year and a half in advance in March of 2009. We put down more than 10% for what was suppose to be an amazing day. Unfortunately, my father got ill and we had to cancel the wedding three months later in June 2009 which was still over a year in advance. I had explained to Concorde that we had to do this so that we could move our date up and get married without all the thrills that we had previously wanted - but my father would be there. Concorde was able to book another event in leu of ours and still would not reimburse ANY of our money despite saying that they would be able to give us back half if they were able to book another event. I have tried numerous times to get ahold of John, the manager, and I can never reach him. I am very dishearted by this experience because this is a local banquet that I would have liked to of done work with in the future, but they do not have professionalism nor quality of service. I am saddend to write this review.

The Concorde was great and we were all very satisfied. They are a great value as the service and food are excellent and they are very reasonably priced. Several of the guests commented on the service and the food.

My friends, and even the DJ recommended the Concorde to me. I'm glad they did! John at the Concorde was so helpful and patient. When we needed to change our plans, he was always happy to accommodate me. We got the white backdrop behind the head table, and the chair covers. My room was so beautiful! The food was delicious. My guests who were supposed to get special meals got exactly what I planned for them. I got lots of compliments from my family about how good the food was. Thank you John!

The food was wonderful, the room was beautiful, I couldn't had asked for more. I booked the Concorde last year in August and they told me that they were going to remodel the place, but I couldn't believe how gorgeous it is now. Nice job John!

This was the second reception location we hired.We explained to them that we would lose our deposit with the Marriott Lincolnshire if we signed with them and they gave us a $1,000 service for free.We were interested in the location because FI’s best man got married there and the food and service was great.Leading up to the wedding they were very cold and short. They treat you like they do this all of the time and your wedding doesn’t really matter. I don’t know if this is because I was only bringing in 150 people and not 400, but that should not matter.All of a sudden, the week before the wedding they became nice and acted more like they cared.On the day of the wedding the food was fabulous, the cake looked great and everything went off without a hitch.Their service is personalized and efficient at the same time (hard to find). I love the way they utilize the dance floor to serve people. The food is always fresh and hot. We had a fruit cocktail for our appetizer. It was fresh melons, berries and grapes. It was obviously freshly made because the fruit pieces DID NOT taste like each other. The server noticed that my mom was not eating her salad, so she came by to ask if there was another dressing she could get for her/if something was wrong. They also always served my mother first at her table, and she really appreciated that.I know that their exceptional service and food is the standard as this was my second wedding at this location in 13 months. They had the same quality and service at my wedding that they had at my FI's best man's wedding. Everyone was really impressed with the place and that made us happy. People are still raving about the food. At the end of the night they gave us three trays of left overs.We didn’t pay too much attention and just took it home.The next day we went to eat it and noticed it wasn’t our food.There was another 300-400 person wedding going on in the ballroom and they ordered cheaper food than us, so we were a bit disappointed.At the same time, it was funny to see that we had better food.

Extremely great service at very affordable price! The food was excellent and received rave reviews from our guests. The decor inside the hall is beautiful!

Concorde was great! The food was amazing, great service, and the evening was flawless. I highly recommend it as a reception venue.

Overall, I had a great day. The food was delicious and the room looked terrific. Some of the staff were rude to my husband, mother, and myself. I did not appreciate the way they made any of us feel. We don't need to feel dumb for following their contract or asking questions! The day of there were some hiccups, but overall it was a great night.

Overall, John and all the employees of Concorde Banquets did a wonderful job. They were very flexible and understanding. Menu prices can get a little steep but the food is always delicious.

The food is woinderful at the Concorde. At the end of the night they have my family three trays full of leftover food. The reception hall and outside is beautfiul with lake, waterfall, and gazebo. We got some amazing pictures! My only complaint is that the tables were not set up the correct way. I recommend that if you have a certain way of wanting things, bs sure to write everything down to a t.

They were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend them!

I was extremely pleased with all aspects of the Concorde. They have a great variety of meal plans in all price ranges. Also, the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The grounds are beautiful, and the food was great considering the mass prepration. The cake that comes with the package is amazing. Each room is given it's own bridal room with a lock on it, which was very important to me. I would definitely recommend the Concorde to anyone in need of a reception hall.

Absolutely wonderful! Incredibly helpful and professional. Very willing to work with you and your needs and ideas. Excellent quality of the rooms, food, service, and so on. The outside landscaping is perfect for beautiful pictures. The price listed below is the total price we paid for the room, cake, and a 5 course dinner for about 200 guests.

Service and food was wonderful and the prices and food were wonderful. All except a couple people on the staff were great. The few staff members that were not wonderful made me feel dumb and stupid for asking for a simple change of the course serving. Other than that the actual day itself was great.

I had an awesome experience with this vendor. Bonnie was great. This is the only vendor I did not have problems with

My reception was fantastic. The outside is absolutely beautiful to take pictures with. My table decorations were displayed exactly how I had wanted them. The food was exceptional; I couldn't have asked for anything better. Concorde Banquets was the best place for a reception!

Great food people still talk about it, bueatiful place especially in the Atrium room where we had it. Just make sure you really make sure they leave room for your photographer if they are doing a back drop for pictures. Everything else was perfect.

Excellent service, and the food was fantastic. They even threw in a lot of extras since our wedding was off-season in March (free appetizers, $5 off posted price per person for dinner, etc). Highly recommended!

Were very attentive to my needs and wants. I would highly reccomend them.
