When I did the tasting originally I thought the cake was great and was exactly what I was looking for. On the day of the wedding, although the cake looked nice, it had BARELY any strawberries (it was a fresh strawberry and cream cake) and was very dry. I had complaints and was embarrased. I contactd them and was blown off the first time until I had pictures, then I was sent a 10% refund. My biggest peeve is that I cant redo it and felt I deserved more than 10% on over $1000 cake that was not what was shown at the tasting.

We really wanted something uniqur for our party and found Kathryn through a friend. The artistic ability of what she does is simply amazing. The only other place you will see work similar to hers would be on a t.v. show...She is talented, funny and beautiful to work with. Her cakes are quite delicious as well. Thanks Kathryn for designing exactly what we were looking for, and more!

OMG....the cake was for a birthday, however I am now getting married and will Not have to look for my cake designer, this is it The Consummat Cake is AWSOME.

Not only did the "cake" look like a work of art, but it tasted fantastic too, not dry like a lot of others out there!

Don't take it from me.. order your own and find out! I was blown away...

Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?

Our cakes are custom designed so with that in mind our prices reflect the labor involved in creating and baking your cake. Most our wedding cakes start at $3.25 a serving on up.

Does the price include the top tier of the cake?

Yes

Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?

Our cakes are custom designed, however if you have found something you would like us to replicate we would be happy to accomodate you

What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?

Here at the Consummate Cake we use the finest ingrediant we can find for example California Meyer lemons for our lemon curd filling and Valrhona chocolate.

On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?

Three to four days.

How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?

Depending on the cakes , we may concentrate solely on one specific event, or have multiple events scheduled for any given weekend.

Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?

Absolutely, Kathryn has a horticulture and European floral design background and loves to work with florist and see what they are coming up with in the floral design world.

What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?

We do have cake stands available.

Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?

Yes, because we know how busy our clients are we always offer delivery service with every cake. Delivery costs start at $10.00.
