Cook's Gathering

Tim Mcgrath is the owner and chef of this catering company. Tim regularly caters dinner parties for Brent's parents and their circle of friends, so he was very eager to do our wedding, which he's recently expanded his business to include. Tim doesn't provide rentals, so I had to secure those, but he was happy to work with our rentals folks to secure quantities, types of items needed, etc. He doesn't do tastings, but we've been to dinner parties he's catered and it's always delicious. Tim's food is absolutely delicious! He catered our bridal shower (we had a tea party) and our day-after brunch, in addition to our wedding of course. Everything was fresh and amazing and yummy! And he's just a really nice person to work with. I highly recommend him! TIP: Make sure you set as realistic expectations as possible about guest counts. We ended up with around 115 guests, instead of 150 like we had originally expected. This threw off the catering needs quite a bit, but we got everything straightened out with no problem.

My wedding was last night and I couldn't wait to write a review for Tim and the amazing staff at Cook's Gathering! First of all, Tim is amazing and so on top of everything. He made sure I had everything I needed as far as rentals and any extra supplies. I had a friend with a nut allergy and he checked and double checked to make sure everything was safe for him to eat so we didn't have to worry. Secondly, his entire staff was OUTSTANDING!!! My friends and family were raving about how nice and helpful and quick they were. I did not have a coordinator and did everything myself and Tim was so helpful!! They went out of their way to make our wedding wonderful. AND the food was absolutely delicious...I've gotten so many compliments on how everything tasted...even from the food snobs. Tim also did the food for our Friday night dinner and it was out of this world! He and his staff were such an asset to our wedding.

There was one misunderstanding in the end about there being a five hour time limit, which I never would have agreed upon and is not in any of the e-mails where Tim gave me a quote. My reception was from 8-12 and cocktails were from 6:45-8. A five hour limit would not have been possible with set up and everything. There was one staff member who pulled me out of my reception to talk about going over the five hours (which I had no idea about). Tim was concerned about being able to pay his staff so we agreed to split the difference. Now several days after the wedding I found my initial quote and it said nothing about a five hour time limit...I just didn't want to be away from my party for too long so I agreed to pay. I still highly, highly, highly recommend Tim and his company...just be sure to agree on work times and if there is confusion wait until after the reception. But use him, he's fantastic...just one mishap that I didn't want to leave out.
