Reviews for Coyote Hills Golf Course

When Peter and I were looking for a reception site, we honestly didn’t know what we wanted; however, when I saw the place and met the catering department… I knew this was the place I wanted my reception. The price was very reasonable and the food was pretty good! We had a few minor problems the day of the wedding. The sorbet we requested for our menu was pineapple and instead they replaced it with mango. The mango was definitely delicious, but a few people within my bridal party (and myself included) are allergic to it. Another slight hiccup we had was that we wanted one section of the room to not be served any alcohol (religious request by my parents). However, apparently several staffers came and offered wine and champagne to the guests on that side. Oh well.

People are still talking about my wedding! The girls are soooo nice there! My whole family was so pleased! I have no complaints at all. The food, the service, the whole atmosphere...and they did their best to help me out with pricing when I need it. I just felt taken care of at all times.

We had our ceremony there on March 16, 2008 and we couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out. The catering department is very helpful, the ceremony site and grounds are beautiful, the price was reasonable and the reception room was wonderful. We would highly recommend Coyote Hills to anyone.

We had our wedding reception there on April 15th, and have nothing but good things to say. In fact, we do not have one single complaint. The coordinators were easy to work with, and made the room look exactly how we had envisioned. The staff was incredibly courteous. And almost of all our guests told us the prime rib was spectacular (and coming from family filled with restaurant owners, that is saying a lot.) We are so glad we chose Coyote Hills, and would recommend it to anyone thinking about having their reception there.

The Ladies of Coyote Hills were wonderful, they answered all the questions I had and even helped with some that I didn't think about. Everything went smoothly on my big day! They set up my Candy Buffet, Memory Table, Place card Trees....everything was taken care of, I could not have asked for better service and I didn't even need a DOC! The food was fantastic, we had Chicken w/ caper cream sauce and fish which I think was Maui Maui. The cake was ordered through Rockwell's and that was fantastic (another review). It was just a great day!

The setting at Coyote Hills could not have been more perfect for my special day. The waterfall glistens behind you as you say your vows to your beloved. The beautiful flowers and vines growing on the wooden trusses is magic. Through all of my searching nothing compared to this picturesque venue. My wedding pictures could not have turned out more exquisite. They are filled with a vibrancy and color. The lighting, the water, the bridges and spectacular trees surrounding the area make your pictures glow with warmth and beauty. The entire staff at coyote hills joined in to make my day memorable and stress free. They made my family feel like their family, comfortable and taken care of. I could not have dreamed up a more perfect day for me and my new husband if it had not been for the help of this tremendously stunning venue at Coyote Hills Golf Course.

My husband and I got married 10/29/2010 and I must say arguably Coyote Hills was the perfect place to get married. Our Friday evening wedding was just a dream come true. For starters we must give a huge thanks to Stephanie Mervine (Catering Sales Director) and Dan Murray (Food and Beverage Manager). They were so helpful through out the whole process. Utter professionals at their jobs. I can honestly say with them in control it went on without a hitch (not even a hiccup of bump in the road). All because of those two people. The ceremony site was so tranquil with the waterfall in the background at sunset, and the reception area was great with a beautiful patio overlooking the golf course. Additionally my husband and I have been to many weddings lately and the one thing that always gets us is that the food is not up to”par”. After the wedding all our guest could not stop commenting on how great the food was. Yes, I know everybody is going to tell you that your wedding was the best, but honestly we could tell it was true because our guests we so enthusiastic about it the food.So in closing please consider Coyote Hills because you will have the best when working with Stephanie and Dan. It costs a lot of money to put on a wedding now a days, and that’s hard to come by in these economic times. Coyote Hills was worth every penny and then sum. Thank you Coyote Hills for everythingDestinee & Jack

Thank you Coyote Hills for a dream wedding. My daughter and her fiancé wanted their wedding and reception outdoors. We looked at nine venues in North Orange County, and fell in love with the beautiful setting at Coyote Hills Golf Club in Fullerton, CA. The traditional strategy at Coyote Hills is to have the ceremony outside under the wisteria-covered arbor, surrounded by beautiful gardens, with the “alter” area opened to a beautiful double waterfall. The reception is then moved to the banquet facility, which overlooks the lush grounds.Kassy wanted to combine the ceremony and reception in one spot; under the arbor. She wanted the site to be fully set up for the reception, with the guests seated at the tables for the ceremony, and then flow right into the reception. Although they had never done an event with that strategy, the catering sales team worked with us to make it happen. Stephanie and Brooke recorded every detail according to my daughter’s wishes. Three weeks before the wedding, we met with Dan Murray, Food & Beverage Director at Coyote Hills. We wanted to see the arbor site at night to have a clear understanding of the lighting. Dan was in the middle of two events that Saturday night, and stood patiently with us under the arbor and answered every question we had. Dan made it clear that he would do everything to make the wedding special . . . AND HE DID!We arrived at Coyote Hills at 10:30 am on Friday 9/17/10, to unload all the boxes of decorating items. We found Dan physically working with the crew setting up tables and chairs. The first thing Dan did was ask how we were doing and if we needed anything. Dan has a very helpful attitude. After seeing the tables under the arbor, we realized that the larger tables would be better; Dan explained that the linens would also fit better. He had the tables changed. Great idea. Our 100 guests were comfortable and there was plenty of room to move around and mingle. When we returned at 2:00 to start decorating, Dan was right there asking if we would like anything to drink. The tables were all set and everything was taking shape. My daughter designed her own table centerpieces and did not need the “house” centerpieces. Dan had lined the aisle that approaches the arbor with the “house” hurricane candles, and added a special touch of including 3 additional votive candles in between each hurricane lamp. It was beautiful after the sun went down. The catering team coordinated with our wedding cake vendor (Kassy's girl friend). We supplied our own cake knife and toasting glasses; which Dan made sure were properly placed for our event, and he made sure that were returned to us at the end of the reception. We changed cake table styles at the last minute with complete cooperation. Then, with our friends setting up the decorations and candy table, my daughter and I retired to the bride’s dressing room with complete confidence in how Dan was coordinating the event. The bride and groom dressing rooms are clean and spacious. The catering team served sparkling cider in the dressing rooms, assisted with the ceremony entrances, served appetizers, wine, dinner (the chef made 3 special non-dairy meals for our guests), and cut the cake with transparency and efficiency. Our guests were well attended by the crew, and Dan catered to the needs of the bridal party. Every family member was pleased by the service provided by Dan. His calm presence was everywhere; making sure we had everything we wanted. My son and his wife, who had been married out of state two years ago, said they would have loved to have Dan manage their wedding! Coyote Hills definitely provided much more than an event site. At the end of the reception, the crew helped us box and load the decorations and gifts into our cars. Our guests are raving about the site and service. We truly experienced the best! Thank you Coyote Hills, Stephanie, Brooke, and especially, Dan Murray for the most fantastic wedding experience imaginable!

What a magical day for my family and friends to share in our wonderful celebration. We chose Coyote Hills Country Club for the view and the value. We had our ceremony their site and it was beautiful. The waterfall backdrop and flowers and all around scenery made our day special. We had our reception inside their clubhouse. Our guest went to the restaurant for cocktails and appetizers while we had our wedding photos taken. The staff was so accomodating and made sure we were well taking care of. We had a couple different sales associates planning our day, and they were all so helpful. This made our day so enjoyable and after a year and a half of planning, it was nice to be able to relax and have fun and celebrate. We selected friends to be our photographer and videographer. We did use the Country Clubs referals of the cake and DJ. We were happy with everybody. The service was very attentive. We would like to thank Dan the Matre d' and his crew for making my mom and family enjoy our special day. I am still receiving comments and calls of how beautiful our day was. I would reccomend Coyote County Club to anyone. In fact my cousin is already looking at having her wedding there as well. Thank you Stephanie and Amanda for letting us have the wedding we dreamed about, you all made it a reality.

We booked Coyote Hills 1 year before event. The coord. changed to Stephanie, and overall she honored what we were promised. The site is breathtaking for the ceremony, the waterfall was spectacular. The Diningroom held 240 with a dance floor a little tight. Dan- the diningroom manager was unbelieveable. He was the most calm, hard working person. He went above and beyond for us, for pre-set up to midnight take down. He had boxed up all toppers, gobblets, top of cake, jewels from the cake, and made sure I had all of them before he left. The passed appetizers were unbelieveable, we had 5 different, but the only neg. comment is they ran out... Sarah the BarTender was absolutely wonderful, kind and could handle any situation that came up with some of the guests. Overall, I would recommend Coyote Hills Golf Course!

First, I would like to say that this location is breath taking! From the moment I stepped on the grounds, I knew this was the place my fiance and I would begin our lives together.Brent, the GM and Stephanie, catering and sales manager are the absolute best! They went above and beyond for me. They made sure my wedding day was perfect!!! Stephanie made sure my rehearsal and my wedding day went off without a hitch. Everyone is still talking about how amazingly beautiful my wedding was and how smoothly it all went. They are also raving about the potato skins and a few of my guest have went back there just for that. Thank you Coyote Hills for making my wedding...the wedding of the year!!! Love, Rocky and Sabrina.

The night could not have been any smoother. Coyote Hills Country Club was on top of everything. It was my dream wedding come true. Two top things about the Coyote HIlls Country Club are. 1. Beautiful marriage site outside including waterfall for backdrop. 2. When we took pictures, we were aloud to move around on the golf course with our party and families to capture different shots. Would recommend them over and over!

I love coyote hills!! It is a beautiful place to have the ceremony and reception. The wedding coordinators are very knowledgeable and they take care of all of the set up! They supported us through the entire process. With the package we went with our cake and limo were included. I would suggest that you should at least consider this venue.

We just had our wedding in the beginning of Oct (friday) and I have to tell you Coyote Hills Golf Course has a great team right now. Every idea that we had was executed and even exceeded our expectations. We decided to have a gourmet burger buffet and it was absolutely amazing! The Head Chef planned it very well. Even the kids meals were great. We had around 250 guests and I have to say it was a little tight and there were a few mishaps with seating in the beginning but Dan(f&b director) was helpful took charge immediately to fix the situation. My parents were very appreciative. Brooke and Steph help us with the details and we could not believe how well it turned out. They were on point in answering any questions or concerns for us and even aloud us come in to set up at a reasonable time. The reception was beautiful and lit up with candles and the lake outside, and we were just so happy that night! Although I was unable to use the ceremony site, I highly reccommend this venue for a reception! So helpful and accommodating and they will work with you! Many Thanks...Denise and Tim

The ceremony site was gorgeous and provided a perfect backdrop for our pictures. There were a few bumps in the road at first when we began our planning, but everything turned out beautifully and we couldn't have been happier with our wedding. Our wedding started at 4 and we were actually ahead of schedule! I love that I got to walk through the reception area to get to the ceremony site. I didn't get to see it all set up earlier than that, and I am glad I got to see it when there wasn't anybody in there. The cocktail hour was perfect. We had an open bar for that hour and tray passed appetizers and they were delicious! There was never a need, because there were always servers walking around with fresh trays of food. We were very impressed with the service during dinner. We had a seated dinner and with almost 200 guests we were very pleased to see that everyone was served in a timely manner and the food was very good and cooked perfectly! We had chicken, and I do have to say that I was scared that it was going to be dry and not very good (I think that is a common fear among brides when you are feeding that many people!). The chicken was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatos were fluffy and moist and the vegetables were cooked with the right amount of crispness! Dan the food and beverage director is amazing and is certainly an asset to the team at Coyote Hills. He was there all throughout the night tending to our every need. He went above and beyond to ensure our night was perfect and we are eternally grateful!

Coyote Hills was very flexible with my wedding arrangements and made sure they always responded to me. The location was so nice and peaceful and the service was great.

Coyote Hills might have the most beautiful ceremony site in the world. See the photo we posted. It's incredible. The service was great too. They actually had a complementary golf cart shuttle service from the clubhouse to the ceremony site for those who didn't feel like walking the 75 or so yards. The reception ballroom is nice too, and the bar/grill is perfect for a fun cocktail hour. The catering department does a good job setting things up, but over the course of our reservation and planning process, we worked with three different coordinators, and many of the things that we were told would happen, didn't happen...The seating chart we were given was inaccurate and the groom's parents ended up sitting numerous tables away, the host bar was not handled as contracted, there was supposed to be a second bar which never was set up, the chair sashes were tied incorrectly, and they lost our cake monogram. We knew going in that no weddings are without problems, and in the grand scheme of things, these were relatively minor, but they were a result of the constant changing of the guard in the catering department. That said, the food was great - portions HUGE. We had the top sirloin and chicken piccata. They were both very good. The two of us had chicken cordon bleu. However, our understanding is that the best dish in the room was the vegetarian lasagna that the chef had for our no-meat guests.Dan, the food and beverage director, was excellent - very helpful and conscientious. The room is classy and beautiful. Our 250 guests fit comfortably, yet we didn't feel like we were in a warehouse. The bottom line is, the reception came off very well and we all had a good time, but even if we hadn't, the ceremony site still made the choice the right one.

Overall, Coyote Hills did a great job with my wedding. The beginning was a little rocky, but they've changed management since then. Brooke was wonderful to work with! I wasn't sure how involved Coyote Hills would be at my rehearsal, but Brooke helped to coordinate the whole thing. On top of that, she was also there on the day of my wedding (so nice to work with the same person). She set up all the correct chairs/tables and did everything I requested. I only had my ceremony there and my one complaint was my aisle runner looked a little dirty. Not sure if they didn't change it from the ceremony before or if it wasn't dirty and maybe just see through, but it didn't have that crisp white look. Besides that, I'm very happy with the service I received. Brooke is wonderful and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous!!

The people there are very nice and have good service.

Coyote Hills was the absolute best place to have my wedding! Everyone...family, friends still talk about how beautiful & perfect it was! The ceremony site is gorgeous, the waterfall creates a lovely background. Our reception was set up perfectly. The food was so good...it was too bad I was so busy talking and dancing that I barely had time to eat it! The staff was nice.
The reason I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars is because I was not happy with the coordinator on my day. I had met with Kathleen and another lady (can't remember her name) numerous times and liked them both. I was told I didn't really need a rehearsal before (so we didn't have one) and that I wouldn't really need a Day of Coordinator because they would have it pretty much covered.
Well, on the day of the wedding we showed up already running late and found that we had another woman coordinating that night. I had never met her, and to be completely honest, she was pretty much no help at all. I was stressed out about the order of the ceremony, and I communicated it to her. She said she would have it under control, but in the end it was still a little messy. Also, since we were running late I had to take some pictures with the bridesmaids outside as guests were showing up, and the guests were just standing outside staring at us. This made me a little upset because I didn't want anyone to see me in my dress until I walked down the aisle, but when we tried to find her to ask the guests to go inside, she was no where to be found. I barely saw her for the entire night, I'm so glad I had a great DJ who ran things smoothly!
Even with those things, my wedding was beautiful and my husband and I had a great day. My advice for you if you are going to book them as your venue is to have a Day of Coordinator just in case, and definitely do a rehearsal there.

It is a beautiful place to get married, however the service was not what we expected.

I guess the service was great before our wedding date because they used to have another catering manager. The day we came to book for our wedding, they changed catering manager who is rude and unwilling to explain or help us at all . It seemed that she just wanted to kick us out as soon as she could. And on our wedding day, she came late 45 minutes and the tables were not set up like the way we discussed before. Service was ok. We got some feedbacks from our guests that their unfinished food were taken away without asking while they went to get drinks ( Some said that they had only one or two bites ). Nice place for shooting wedding photos. If you really want to have your wedding there, make sure to have Dorla ( Not sure if her name is spelled correct !) because she is super nice. We were unlucky to have her though.
Vendor response to review
At Coyote Hills Golf Course we strive for customer satisfaction. This review is not indicitive of our standards or the way we take care of our guests. In researching the details of this event we did discover some discrepencies in this review and did feel that is was neccessary for us to respond. The Catering Sales Manager that initially booked this event in November of 2008 was not new to the Coyote Hills staff and had been working in our catering office for 2 years. When reading this review I was puzzled by how our Catering Sales Manager was described as "rude" and "unwilling to explain or help us at all". If that were the case, why would they have booked their wedding here? When Mr. White (The Groom) booked his wedding with Coyote Hills he had asked for a discounted rate in exchange for advertisement on his website. We lowered his Ceremony Site fee (more than half of what it normally is) and the food and beverage minimum was lowered, too. We were also able to do this because his expected guest count was 50ppl and he only needed one of our Banquet Rooms. He also agreed to have an early morning ceremony which allowed us to be more flexible with the pricing. We did our very best to accomodate he and his fiancee, but as time went on there were more discounts and freebies that Mr. White and his fiancee wanted. At some point, we had to tell him no. We did however, move their reception to our larger Banquet Room and did not charge them for it. Lastly, our Catering Sales Department is not supposed to be "setting up" or working the events. We have a food and beverage team that takes care of the execution of each event. Lastly, since this wedding took place 4 months ago and we were not aware that the White's were disappointed with their wedding reception until we read this review, we were unable to research the claim of their plates being cleared from the table before their food was eaten.

Coyote Hills was a beautiful place to get married at. The outside ceremony site was gorgeous and made for amazing pictures. The room set up looked great and captured what I invisioned. That said, there were many areas that were not up to our standards. Our wedding was to start at 5:30pm and guests were not allowed to sit until approx. 5:25. Many guests in the bar area were not told to be sat, so immediate friends/family ended up sitting in the back. Of the 3 passed around appetizers that were supposed to be served, only 1 was passed. The ice sculpture had our initials in the wrong order, our guests barely got one glass of wine as opposed to the promised 3 glasses per guest. It took 45 minutes from salad plate delievery for our guests to be served their entree. No one was around to help us when it came time to cut our cake. Guests had to search for a knife and cake plate and our photographers had to pour our champagne. When inquiring about this, it took over 1 1/2 months to get some money back that we were promised when fault was found on their side.

The Good:The ceremony site was absolutely gorgeous. It was worth every dime. Our on-site wedding coordinators were very flexible in terms of payment and accomodating to our specific requests. The Bad:EVERYTHING ELSE. I cannot begin to stress how terrible the food tasted. Chefs should know better than to serve bad food. Our prime rib came out worse than dried beef jerky, our halibut tasted like overcooked fish sticks. What really annoyed us was the fact that one of our guests informed us that she had only received half portion of the halibut. And this person happened to be my aunt. However, to be fair, our guests loved their passe appetizers during cocktail hour. The food and beverage coordinators were very unprofessional and irresponsible. We had specifically requested that a plate of appetizers be brought and left in the bridal suite, but that was quickly forgotten. They conveniently neglected to put up signs indicating the hours of our hosted call bar or even bothered notifying our guests, but instead charged our guests for drinks. We even carefully reminded them of the timing, and they still greedily took our guests' money. Had we not made a conscious effort to ask our DJ to announce the hours of free drinks, I'm sure none of our guests would've gone to the bar.Our wedding cake was never served to every guest (NOT EVEN THE BRIDE AND GROOM GOT THEIR CAKES), and to make matters worse, we never received the customary top tier of our cake to take home. We were never approached by our food and beverage coordinator regarding their service or the details. The reception, food wise, was an utter disaster. Fortunately, their service was commendable. All of our guests were served their meals quickly and quitely. Thank goodness. All in all, Coyote Hills GC is an excellent venue for ceremony, but I would highly recommend going elsewhere for reception. If you must, I recommend that you do make sure every single detail of your reception planning is carefully and meticulously accounted for.

There were so many problems with the Coordinator that I would not recommend using this venue to anyone. The food was cold, the shades did not work so we could not see the slideshow, they did not direct the guests were to go, our appetizers were being served to golfers, the bar was open and it was supposed to be closed and use the space for our guests and appetizers. When this was brought to the coordinators attention nothing was done about it. It goes on an on.
For any Bride and Groom reading this endorsement: I am Rev. Michael and I Officiate at all locations in Orange County. And one of my top five favorite locations to Officiate at is the Coyotes Hills Golf Course. Their staff are, without a doubt, the best, the most flexible, the most organized and the nicest coordinators to work with. I receive so many rave reviews from my couples not only regarding the way they handle the Ceremony but the reception as well. I would be remiss in not telling you to at least call Coyote Hills and investigate their venue.
