Craig Photography

If you don't read my entire review, please at least read this: I am eternally grateful to have had the opportunity for John and Elizabeth Craig to photograph our wedding day. The Craigs are every bride's dream vendor; they deliver a fantastic product for a reasonable price, all while being completely professional, super responsive, flexible, fun, and all-around amazing people!

First, the photos! I am IN LOVE with our wedding photos! I look at them every day and wonder how the Craigs were able to get such amazing photographs out of the two most un-photogenic people ever! I normally dread having my picture taken, but they made everyone feel so comfortable and we all had a blast! Not only did the pictures turn out great, but we received the digital images only a few weeks after the wedding (weeks!! most photographers take MONTHS!), plus two beautiful slide shows that they put together that still bring tears to my eyes every time I watch them! The Craigs worked really hard to get us the photos that we so desperately wanted to see as quickly as possible.

One of the greatest things about the Craigs is that they will happily do everything in their power to make your wedding day easier and better! They helped us choose locations for our wedding party photos (neither myself nor my husband know downtown Pittsburgh too well), helped us put together a timeline of pre-wedding events (we had no clue how long wedding party photos should take), agreed to split up so that John could photograph the men getting ready and Elizabeth could photograph the women getting ready 10 miles away, suggested that we take a walk and some photographs at nearby Station Square when we realized we were WAY ahead of schedule (not part of our timeline, but so glad we did!), ran out into traffic with rest of the wedding party to get photos on the Smithfield bridge, ... the list goes on and on. Elizabeth literally fed me my lunch while I was getting my hair done and my hands were busy with last-minute wedding crafts, no joke! Bottom line -- they really care about making sure your wedding day as perfect as it possibly can be. What more could you ask for?

As helpful as the Craigs were up until our ceremony started, that's where it ended. Once they went into stealthy photographer/ninja mode, they basically became invisible for the remainder of the night... but I know they were there because there are photos to prove it! I still don't understand how they managed to capture every moment at both the ceremony and reception without getting in anyone's way, but they did!

All in all, the #1 best decision that I made through this whole crazy wedding experience was marrying my husband. The #2 best was hiring the Craigs to photograph our wedding day. And now that the wedding is over, I am most certainly planning to asking the Craigs to photograph every other significant event that happens in our lives... starting with booking a boudoir session with Elizabeth's once I get brave enough! ;)

John and Elizabeth were fabulous. My photographer was something that was my top priority. I didn't even think about my dress until I knew who our photographer was going to be. My husband and I looked at around 30 different photographers from all over the state of PA. We looked at Craig Photography because we liked their style. They did a cousin of mine's wedding and their pictures were amazing. They were out of our budget range at first, but we decided to book them because we knew we would get quality pictures, and that was more important to us than almost anything. We were so satisfied with the pictures that John and Elizabeth took. They did an engagement session with us and were wonderful. Not only are they phenomenal photographers, but they are great people as well. They are real, genuine, artistic, and creative people who see beauty everywhere. We got so many amazing pictures, and their service was fabulous. I would recommend Craig photography to anyone, and would use them again (and again!)

Elizabeth and John were FABULOUS to work with! Their work is absolutely phenomenal, my pictures from wedding are flawless and i swear there is not one and i mean not one bad picture. I found them on the knot.com and saw they won awards for best photography. I called them immediately and set up an appointment. I was sold the moment i met Elizabeth. She is the sweetest most down to earth and professional person. She had a spectacular layout of previous wedding photography albums to browse through..... i didn't call anyone else nor do anymore research. I never once had to search for her and john they were always on top of everything. And they got every single moment possible captured on their cameras. So if you are in search for a photographer i highly recommend them!!!!! I couldnt be any happier!! love you guys!!!! Patrice:)

Elizabeth & John were amazing. They captured our wedding day perfectly! They arrived on time and where they were scheduled to be. Our wedding day photos arrived two weeks after our wedding. We couldn't have been more pleased with Elizabeth and John. Thank you, Team Craig!!!! :)

Elizabeth and John were absolutely fantastic!!! They photographed my rehearsal dinner and my wedding and I could not have been more pleased with their service and the quality of their pictures. They are gorgeous and I find myself looking at them everyday. They captured so many special momements but you couldn't even tell they were there. They made our day so special and I would recommend them to anyone. Please call them for your wedding!!!

Elizabeth and John were fantastic on so many levels. Elizabeth was the first photographer we met with. I was drawn to their photos from the website..Who wouldn't be?? Immediately after meeting her my then fiance said "You want to hire them don't you, because I do". We knew after only spending a few minutes that she was the person we wanted to take our photos! She was amazing so we assumed her husband would be equally as amazing, which proved to be true! We met John during out engagement session in the strip and it was fabulous! I loved every single picture and they captured the love and intentsity between us that I wanted to save in a picture. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but their photos are worth so much more. When it came time for our wedding they proved me wrong, I didn't think I could become more impressed then I already was with them, but I certainly was blown away. I had my wedding photos less than two days after the big day, and for a bride that was the best gift I could ask for. I looked through more than 900 photos immediately. I fell in love with photo after photo. My husband does not smile using his teeth ever, and they captured him in the pure real big teeth happy smile that I try so hard to capture on camera. You can see the love between us, the excitement in our guests eyes, and the joy and sense of pride illuminating from our parents. Elizabeth and John captured every moment from our wedding day perfectly, our wedding story is told from our photos and if you weren't there you can sense the emotions of the day just from our photos. Elizabeth was so great that even when the wedding gift I got for my husband was stolen (yes during our wedding) she helped me figure it out and replaced it. I can say so much more about the quality of their photos, their responsiveness, and their professionalism. They made me comfortable and our guests. If you are having a wedding and they are not your photographer, you may want to reconsider :) Good luck wedding planning and if you're smart you'll choose Craig-Photography!

Elizabeth and John are AMAZING!!!! They did an engagement session as well as our wedding photographs and were nothing but the absolute best on both occasions. Not only do they take amazing pictures, but they make you feel incredibly comfortable in all the mayhem that a wedding day can bring. They blend seamlessly into the background, but are still able to capture so many wonderful memories (not to mention they photographed our outdoor ceremony on one of the hottest days of the year with no complaints:)). We also received our photos shortly after we returned from our honeymoon - very impressed! Thank you Elizabeth and John!!!

There is no way for me to express in words just how wonderful Elizabeth and John are, both as photographers and as people. To make a long story short, I found out, the morning of my wedding, that my original photographer was not going to show; basically took the money and ran. With a quick phone call from my DJ to Elizabeth and John, they were packed up and on their way to my wedding venue. My husband and I are extremely fortunate and blessed that such an amazing pair like Elizabeth and John happened to be free that day. It was a real blessing in disguise that my original photographer didn't show. I would consider Craig Photography the premier photographers in the Pittsburgh area. They were SUPER nice and very professional. All of the guests were commenting on how great they were. I will recommend them to anyone that I know who's getting married.

After meeting with 3 different photographers and not being completely satisfied, we discovered Craig Photography--and we are SO glad that we did!! Elizabeth and John are amazing photographers and people! They photographed a family portrait session for us and our entire wedding day. Elizabeth and John are both flexible, fun, easy going, creative, and professional people--and they completely compliment each other, which enabled them to capture every moment of our wedding day. We enjoyed working and talking with Elizabeth and John leading up to and on our wedding day, and our pictures turned out awesome! We love Craig Photography! Elizabeth was the first photographer we met with, and the last. We were drawn to Craig Photography from the amazing photos on their website, but we chose them because Elizabeth has such an amazing personality (we didn’t meet Jon initially, but he’s great too!) and we knew she was the right person to photograph our wedding. A few months before our wedding we did an engagement session with Elizabeth. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get to know Elizabeth a bit before the big day. Elizabeth also helped us create an awesome album from the engagement photos that served as a guest book for the wedding. Throughout the process, she was great about answering the phone and returning calls and emails. On our actual wedding day, Elizabeth and Jon were great. They were relaxed, non-intrusive and did such a great job handling all of the requisite family photos. And of course, we LOVE our photos – and so do all of our guests! We would highly recommend Craig Photography to any bride and groom.

Craig photography was great for our wedding! Planning from out of town was hard, and Elizabeth made it easy for us. We met with her once and the decision on who to go to was simple - they not only provided us BEAUTIFUL photos, but helped to change our plans the day before making it less stressful for me. I was concerned with traffic and the weather, and was not familiar with any places nearby to take our photos. Elizabeth made a few suggestions, and we ended up going there. The pictures turned out great, I would recommend them to anyone!

We worked with John and ELizabeth about a month ago for our wedding. They were great and my new wife and I are very pleased with the outcome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is in need of talented professional photography.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Craig Photography! I knew from the beginning of my wedding planning that who we chose as our photographer was going to be one of the most important decisions we made. From the moment I met Elizabeth I just felt so at ease, as she is not only extremely professional, but she makes you feel like your best friend too. Leading up to our wedding, she was always very responsive when I had questions and emails for her (and I had a lot!), even helping me with other random wedding questions not pertaining to photography and giving great suggestions for a few other vendors, etc. On the day of the wedding, her wonderful personality helped everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. Being a photographer who got their start wedding planning, weddings are my life. When it was time for my OWN wedding I knew that my number one priority was stellar photographs. John and Elizabeth instantly came to mind. There is something so incredible about a husband-wife team, not to mention THIS team in particular really stole my heart with their shooting style and personalities. Our wedding photos will be a constant reminder of our truly special and emotional day and I couldnt have asked for any better than what Craig Photography provided to us. We had both Elizabeth and John for our wedding in November 2010 and they were absolutely amazing. They were extremely nice and very professional. It was great to have two professional photographers for such a reasonable price (not one photographer and one assistant like many others offer). For our portraits of us and the bridal party, while everyone was looking at Elizabeth for pictures, John was in the background taking shots from other angles. He also took some candid photos while we weren't paying attention to him that turned out really well. At the reception it was great to have both of them floating around to capture pictures of everyone and to have pictures from two different angles. Some of my friends who had different photographers for their wedding complained that the photographer took so many pictures but only gave them a fraction of what they took. With Elizabeth and John, I didn't feel like anything was missing. If we wanted a specific picture they made sure they got it. They had great ideas for the best places to take pictures that I would have never thought of. We got so many pictures back and they were all amazing. We received so many compliments on them. They even impressed my mother-in-law, which is nearly impossible. They were so down to earth and I was so comfortable around them and in front of the camera. It was great that they were husband and wife, I think it made our day that much more special. It was so cute to see them holding hands while they were walking to different locations. I only wish I got a picture of it. My husband and I were moving overseas less than 2 weeks after our wedding and Elizabeth and John worked all through the week of thanksgiving to get our pictures back to us before we left. I have absolutely no regrets about hiring them and would definitely recommend them. You really won't find another two photographers this good for such a good price.

John and Elizabeth are amazing photographers...they were so wonderful to work with! Not only are our pictures FABULOUS...we received everything from them within 9 days from our wedding! I still have friends who got married in July who haven't laid eyes on their wedding pictures. Everything they promised...they did. They captured our personalities and the feelings and emotions of our wedding day PERFECTLY. I HIGHLY recommend using Craig Photography for your wedding or special event. You will not be disappointed.

Elizabeth and John were great about adjusting their package to meet our needs. Our wedding events took place over two days, and they met with us before to go over all the details and to discuss what kinds of shots we wanted. They were fun to be around and made us feel relaxed and comfortable on our big day. Their turnaround time for putting pictures online for ordering and then sending us our dvd and pictures was great, and they posted previews online by the time we were on our honeymoon! Loved working with them and definitely recommend them to brides---we got a great combination of close, intimate shots and wider, scenic shots to capture our day!

Elizabeth and John were not only wonderful to work with, but they also provided us with the most amazing photos!!!! They captured the feelings, emotions and moments of the entire day in a way that can best be summed up by the frequent comment of “I really feel like we were there” that many of our friends (who weren’t there) made after seeing the slideshow of all the photos. I live in California so finding vendors in Pittsburgh was somewhat of a challenge. Thank God for Google. :) I won't admit the crazy amount of photographer websites I looked at in my search, but this to me was one of the most important vendors (as they were going to be documenting our memories for us). I was looking, for a lack of better words, for a photographer that did not have that “so posed” look in their photos. The photos in their blog stood out from most of the others as you could actually see the fun and excitement of the couple and their guests in their photos. They were so artistic and creative, but NOT “too artsy” that you miss the mark and don’t really capture the couple and their day. Needless to say, I felt the same about our photos. I love our photos!!! When I look at them I go right back to our wedding day like I’m reliving it. Their service was also amazing in that prior to our wedding they made the arrangements, payments and pre-meeting logistical stuff so easy. Elizabeth even came to our hotel for the pre-meet a couple months prior as Dave and I were in town for only a couple days to do all the final arrangements and pre-meets with our vendors. Her flexibility made it so much easier on us. Following the ceremony they had a few photos and a little video posted within a couple days. They also had all of our photos posted on Pictage that first week (so no waiting at allll). Within two weeks we had our photos on disc and they even included another disc with a video slideshow which was awesome. (&& a few prints were an added bonus). We had a West coast reception a couple weeks after our East coast ceremony and b/c of their quickness, we were able to display a slideshow of all the photos for our guests, which people loved!!! In fact, they loved it so much that we had to pull them away at times to get back to the dance floor. :) Thank you Elizabeth and John!!!! You two rocked!!!!!

Elizabeth and John did an amazing job on our wedding day. I could not have asked for better pictures. They both made the whole wedding party and families feel comfortable. The Craig's never missed one important moment of our special day. The photos are amazing. Everyone says how in love we looked and I think that is because Elizabeth and John were able to make us feel so natural like they were not even there. Pictures come back quicker than I ever imagined. Elizabeth and John are incredibily talented and fun to work with. We had alot of specific requests for shots and they captured every one. If you are looking for the best- you have found it with John and Elizabeth! We got the most expensive package which came with engagement session and printing rights, full day of wedding day coverage and printing rights for all of those as well, 2 parent albums, an album for ourselves, and a few free pictures. The really nice thing about these two is that you can get your pictures printed anywhere, and they will still look professional because they have already been professionally edited by Elizabeth. These two are really good at getting people to open up tot he camera, my husband and I are both really shy, but you wouldn't be able to tell in the pictures! The quality is amazing, and we have received so many compliments. They are very receptive and will follow your lead if there are certain pictures that you want to be taken. All you have to do is ask. We very much enjoyed working with John and Elizabeth,and we ended up with a ton of pictures. If you are looking for the types of pictures that every girl dreams about, go with these two, hands down!

I cannot come up with enough praise of positive words to describe our entire experience of working with John & Elizabeth Craig for our wedding photography. They were amazing and the end result photos still bring both a smile and tear to my eye everytime I look at them. Elizabeth was always so responsive to all my questions thoughout the planning process and I knew I was in the perfect hands the moment we met. Both her and John have such a fun and relaxing vibe to them that they totally put you at ease and you feel like you have been freinds with them forever by the end of the wedding expereince. They make you feel so comfortable, and most importantly...THE PHOTOS are amazing! Elizabeth worked with me on coming up with my wedding day time line and suggestions of places to take photos. My huband & I had a "first look" prior to the ceremony and it was truly my favorite part of the day. So intimate and only shared by me & him ( and our photogs of couse!) They captured the entire emotion of the moment beyond our expecations. Our photos not only represent our personalities, but the emotions and feelings of the entire day. Their eye for the details and the important moments both big and small are breath taking. We still get complimants from our friends and family! I highly recommend Craig photography to capture the most important day of your life!!

Craig Photography was great, a little pricey but worth it. It was great having 2 photographers that both take wonderful photos. They were very nice and professional at our wedding. We always recommend them to anyone we hear having a wedding.

I couldn't be happier with our choice of Craig Photography. Elizabeth was the warmest, kindest vendor and was always super responsive to my questions. She worked with us to make sure that we got what we needed and made it fun at the same time. The best part is, the photos are absolutely gorgeous. I was so thrilled when we saw them - Elizabeth and our "guest" photographer really made the picture taking process so fun and easy, but the end result shows how talented they are. I wouldn't change a thing - in fact, I wish I could do it again!

Elizabeth and John are absolutely amazing photographers! On our wedding day, Elizabeth helped all 6 guys pin the roses on their tuxes (not even in the job description of a photographer). She saw a need and just filled it! They are very flexible and go with the flow of the day. It rained the entire day our wedding (imagine that in Pittsburgh). We ended up getting all indoor photos. This greatly showed their experience as we have phenomenal pictures. I wouldn't trade our pictures for sunny day pictures! They went around Oxford Centre and just became really creative in their picture taking. It was really neat to experience as I'm sure they had to think a little harder than usual about how to get amazing pictures. I am positive that not just any photographer could have captured our day the way that they did! I would recommend them to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would 100% recommend Craig photography with no reservations at all. My husband and I both tend to be a little camera shy, but Elizabeth and John put us at ease immediately. We had a great time during the photo shoot on our wedding day. Elizabeth gave us good direction throughout without being intrusive at all. She was super efficient at organizing our family photos, and even voluntarily acted as a wedding coordinator when our outdoor ceremony had to be moved under cover. The best part: our photos are AMAZING! Our friends and family keep saying that they look like they belong in a magazine or as the photo that comes in the frame. I knew from the beginning of my planning that photography was really important to me and finding someone I trust was key - but if I had to do it again, I would definitely use Craig photography.

John and Elizabeth are amazing photographers. They did such a wonderful job with our wedding. Everyone who sees our photos raves about them. From the time that they arrived in the morning, they put us at ease. During the ceremony and the reception, they were so inconspicuous, you couldn't even tell that they were there. During our photo session in between the church and the hall, they made great suggestions and kept everything moving. I couldn't have asked for better people to take the pictures that will last us a lifetime.

Fives across the board. They were so fantastic and professional to work with. They knew what shots would look great and because of that there are soo many pictures to choose from! I would HIGHLY recommend them to everyone, and I have! Everyone in my bridal party, who were also married previously, said how great Craig's photography is and how they were so much better than their own photography! Def. go with them!

All I have to say is WOW!!! Elizabeth and John were AWESOME!!! The pictures turned out amazing!!! I am so happy with them!! They were very professional and friendly, easy to get along with. They were easy going and kept the pictures coming!!! The shots they got are priceless!!! I HIGHLY recommend their services!! We are very pleased and will recommend them to ANYONE!! We love their video of our pictures that they put together!! They are just so wonderful!!!

Elizabeth and John are amazing, talented, and highly recommended photographers. They took our engagement photos and are also photographing our wedding next year. They are very professional, but also make you feel very comfortable to be photographed. I have always felt that I'm not very photogenic, but Elizabeth and John brought out the beauty/hansdsome in us and our photos are ones that we will love for a lifetime.

Elizabeth and John were great to work with, and are just fun and personable in general. I'm a bit of a camera nut, and they were very patient talking through the questions I had about their gear before we even hired them, and, by our wedding day, they were shooting on upgraded equipment with all the features I wanted. There was also the perfect amount of up front coordination-- enough to be confident they were on top of things, but not so much that it was a distraction from all the other planning. The same was true on our wedding day-- they were there to get all the important shots, but didn't get in the way of the actual festivities (to the point that even when a snafu with our seating plan didn't show them at a table, they never bothered anyone but just took care of getting food for themselves and we didn't even realize it until later). Having two shooters also insured we got all of the important shots. The pictures themselves came out nicely with a good variety of formal and candid shots. We were also happy that our package came with a disc of the high-res JPEG shots AND the actual RAW shots straight off the camera, which gives us maximum flexibility for the future.

I was so pleased with my recent photo session with Craig Photography! I was able to schedule a convenient date and the cost was excellent. I worked with Elizabeth only for this photo shoot and she was fabulous!! She is very professional, has a great eye for color and lighting, and was so much FUN to work with!! The pictures were so beautiful--she did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend Craig Photography for all of your photography needs.

We were on a tight budget but wanted to have wedding portraits that we loved. Everyone that has seen our photos has said that they look straight out of a bridal magazine. John and Elizabeth were great!

John and Elizabeth were amazing! They were really able to capture the style of pictures that I was looking for. I posted the pictures on Facebook (since John and Elizabeth give you a CD of all the pictures and the rights to use them however you want) and I can't tell how how many people have commented on how beautiful the pictures are.

What I love most about John and Elizabeth is how well they work together. Their work is seemless because they have this amazing ability to just feed off of each other. We couldn't have picked a better pair to photograph our wedding!

John and Elizabeth were great. Organized, on time, professional but very relaxed and friendly, responsive, super fast turn around time and, most importantly, great photos. As soon as we booked them, I knew the photography was one thing we weren't going to have to worry about that day.

Elizabeth and John were wonderful to work with. Our pictures are unique and beautiful. They captured everything we wanted. They also captured many things that we were not able to see when we were running around throughout the day. I would recommend them to everyone!

I just have to compliment Craig Photography on how great the photographs were for my wedding. They were so flexible because they took pictures in different places and were willing to travel while we were getting ready. They also allowed however much time we needed to get all of the pictures we wanted. I loved that there were two of them to take more candid shots and that I was able to keep the rights to the pictures. They were friendly and were willing to do whatever we wanted. I believe I have the best pictures from my wedding and I couldn’t be happier.

While many of our vendors were excellent, Craig Photography was the best of all. The pictures were absolutely amazing and gorgeous. The photographers were professional but relaxed, bringing the most out of their subjects. Because the photos are one of the most tangible and palpable products of the wedding, we feel so lucky that ours came out so wonderfully. We give them the highest possible recommendation.

We had our wedding photographed by Craigs photography. We LOVED everything that they did. They are so professional and take beautiful pictures. Wedding Ninjas! Elizabeth and John got so many beautiful shots of me, my husband and our families without us really even noticing they were there! They were never obtrusive, and really listened when we requested many candid shots of our family and friends rather than too many stiff, posed portraits that don't portray the excitement and joy of the day. Living in Las Vegas, but having the wedding in Pittsburgh meant very little contact between me and Elizabeth or John. Fortunately, they were both so accommodating with emails and phone calls that I never felt worried or apprehensive about not having met them in person before the big day! Elizabeth made me feel immediately at ease, even during the first few photographs of me and my bridesmaids getting ready. My husband and I both felt so comfortable with them, and it shows in our beautiful photographs. Plus, the turnaround time on our pictures was super fast - we were able to enjoy our photographs only a few days after the wedding!

Elizabeth and John Craig were wonderful to work with. They were great the days before the wedding, answering emails promptly. They were very flexible, creative, and fun. Since the wedding they have been as prompt as prior to, and the turn around time on getting the pictures has been amazing. I've heard horror stories of other photographers, but if you want professionals who are fun and responsive, go with Elizabeth and John. The pictures they took are vibrant and absolutely beautiful, we've been getting rave reviews.

John and Elizabeth were amazing to work with. They met us at 1pm in the afternoon and stayed with us until 11pm. They took amazing shots. They were also willing to go where ever we suggested to take pictures. Our family loved them and did not feel like they were overwhelming or in the way at all. They also work well together. They both see different shots to take. I would highly recommend them to anyone that wants beautiful pictures at a low cost and low hassle.

Elizabeth and John were wonderful to work with! I was doing most of my planning long distance, but they were always easy to get in touch with! I liked the fact that both of them shoot at the wedding and that we were able to have them for as long as we needed! We got a ton of great shots-- traditional and "fun" and they made the perfect album. I have heard horror stories from brides who said their photographer was always in their way-- but I didn't even notice the two of them at the wedding! I was so surprised looking at the proofs because I didn't even realize they got some of those shots! They are a great couple, easy to work with, reliable and I would definitely recommend them to friends and family and use them myself again in the future!

Craig photography provided us with some beautiful pictures of ours big day. They were very proffessional and it was great to have two photographers. Liz was able to take pictures of me and my girls getting ready while John was getting pics of the guys. Personally I thought I wanted a lot of candid pictures, but I ended up loveing the set up, fun pics, so much more.
