Jason's cinematic style is one that stands out against the competition. The overall feel and emotion that comes out of every video he shoots is just incredible. Other videographers seem to "follow the photographer" and take more "still shots", rather than use the video camera to its fullest potential with sweeping shots and subtle movements that add so much more. Jason just gets it.
When you combine Jason's video quality with his responsiveness, easy-going style, and ability to put your mind at ease during the day of the wedding, Crescent Bay Films is the best choice you can make!

Jason and his crew from Crescent Bay Films can be summed up in one word... AMAZING. I had the honor of working with these talented cinematographers for my wedding in Disneyland on January 19, 2012. I am not located within the Southern California area and had to do a lot of my communicating through emails. Jason made me feel very comfortable and confident while we worked through the details of our big day. Before booking with him, my husband and I skyped with him to get to know him better. Needless to say, we knew immediately that we wanted to work with him. He has a genuine personality and a very added bonus, a big Disney fan like us.
The big day came and Crescent Bay Films did their job superbly. They were on time, we barely noticed them as they caught amazing shots. Not only were they there to help document our special day, but Jason helped me out when my wedding party wasn't listening to me. They were extremely excited and probably did not hear me, but i remember Jason coming up to me and telling me not to worry and he'll handle it.
I did not expect to get the wedding trailer so soon, but the very next day i was speechless. Our wedding tralier was absolutely beautiful! I have shown a countless amount of people, including Donald and Goofy on our honeymoon in Disney World, and everyone LOVED it. Many had said it was the best wedding video they have ever seen!
You will NOT be dissappointed in choosing Crescent Bay Films to document your special occasion!

Jason at Crescent Bay Films was amazing. He is so down to earth and makes you feel like your a friend not just a client. The day of the wedding he was so attentative and worked so hard on the details. He made me and the wedding party feel comfortable. He got so much amazing footage. When I saw the final product my husband and I cried. It was more than we could have ever dreamed of. Jason captured everything and put it into the most beautiful 5 minute trailer. We weren't orginally going to spend the money on a videographer but I am so glad we did... worth every penny. If you are unsure you should definetly get a videographer and it better be Jason. He will make you feel amazing and comfortable and give you the best gift you could ever ask for... he did for us!

Jason and Crescent Bay Films were absolutely wonderful to work with. I planned an out of state wedding and decided to book a videographer after my many wedding planning trips were made. Jason was great and put me at ease- answering multiple emails, phone calls and constantly sending samples of his work for my review.
Jason has an amazing gift and he will without a doubt be able to capture your special day flawlessly. The best thing about Crescent Bay Films is that when they are capturing your day seamlessly, you won't even notice that they are there. They blend into your day and do NOT stick out like a sore thumb (as many videographers do). After the wedding I posted our video trailer (which still makes me cry every time I watch it) many of the attendants did not even realize that there was a videographer present.

AWESOME!!!! Everything went perfect the day of and all events leading up to it. He put together our slide show, during the wedding I didn't even notice he was there, and our trailer turned out amazing!! We now have DVDs and Blu Rays with all the wedding fottage and it's so fun to watch. Last, the price was right and we got everything we paid for. Great work!!

We're happy we chose Crescent Bay Films: They were very professional (on-time, considerate, and sensitive to the type of video we wanted)- we actually didn't have to tell them very much and they got it right- the videography was beautiful, they allowed us to choose the music, the editing was fantastic, and they're willing to travel. (Our wedding was in Santa Barbara.)
We're actually going to have Crescent Bay Films record the birth our first child for us. (I don't know about being in the delivery room, but we're going to talk it over and find out what's appropriate.) - K.J.C

Jason and his team were absolutely wonderful! I researched videographers for SO long to find someone that had amazing quality and artistic style and personality, but wasn't going to break the bank. Finally, in our last wedding planning months I came across Jason and choosing him to do our video was one of the best choices I made! He is so nice, and accommodating and responsive right off the bat. After meeting him in person I was even more pleased with how helpful and nice he and his assistant were. And, as they should be, I can attest to the fact that we really had no idea they were even there! They literally faded into the background of our photo taking, ceremony and reception and were not intrusive at all. But, they did so in a way that they managed to capture the most amazing video I could ever as for. We received our wedding highlight video right before we left for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely perfect! We all continue to be blown away as we watch it almost every day, by how absolutely amazing, classy, elegant, and stunning it is! He did a wonderful job capturing our day and making our videography vision come true just perfectly. It makes us tear up every time. It is such a special way to relive the day, as it truly goes so quickly, and I will cherish this video always. I appreciate all of his communication with me leading up to our event to create a customized fabulous video memory. We were so very happy that we chose to hire Jason for our wedding day videography! From our very first phone consultation, we knew that he would be the right choice for us. Not only did we love the previous work he had done, but we could tell that he understood the vision for our wedding.
Leading up to the wedding, Jason was extremely responsive and knew exactly what needed to be done and answered all of my questions very quickly. Jason and his team were even better on the day of the wedding- they were on time, polite, and knew just where to be to get the best shots. Even though there were three cameras around, I barely noticed them at all!
We were most impressed by the final product- our preview was up for us to check out less than a week after our wedding, and the final product was to us in just over two months. His work is absolutely amazing, and our friends and family have really enjoyed reliving our special day through his video.

The team at Crescent Bay was a phenomenal part of our special day. It felt like Jason and had known the two of us for years by the time we finished our first meeting. Like a lot of other couples I assume, we almost didn't have a videographer. I can tell you that we are so happy our parents insisted that we get one and that we chose Crescent Bay Films and Jason Garner. Jason is absolutely amazing to work with. He is beyond professional and really added to the fun of the day for us. And while we were still on our honeymoon, he already had our trailer to us so that we could share with our family and friends right away. I absolutely love our trailer. Jason and his assistant Jon captured every moment from our wedding day from beginning to end, and did so without us even knowing they were there. They worked seamlessly with our photographer and the end results are just breathtaking. My husband is not a fan of being filmed or photographed, he just tenses up. Jason is very professional, knowledgeable, technically innovative and the quality of his work is Fabulous! We were delighted with the trailer we received 36 hours after the wedding and were especially impressed that he just took charge and knew what to do without disturbing any of the wedding party. He blended in with the crowd and worked well with the other vendors.

FAQ for Crescent Bay Films
Many companies sub-contract their shooting and editing but when your hire Crescent Bay Films, you get Crescent Bay Films. You will have Jason and/or Alec at every shoot, and non of the editing is contracted out.
Why should we consider Crescent Bay Films for video coverage?
There are many reasons to consider our team for your event, but in a nutshell, we are a team of filmmakers that love people and love what we do!
Do you have videos from past events that we can watch?
You can view samples of our Film Trailer online. To view our work in more detail, drop us a line, and we can set-up some time to meet in person.
How do we book with you?
You can call us directly and we would be happy to set-up a consultation. Once you make a decision, we only require $100 to retain the date. From there you simply make payments leading up to your event.
What do you need from us prior to the event?
Our goal is to make your experience with us easy and as stress-free as we can. Therefore we try to require as little from you as possible. All we need from you is a detailed event timeline at least one week prior to the event.
When will you arrive and depart from the event?
We arrive as everything is getting started and and cover all of the most important events up to open dancing. Once dancing begins, we shoot for about 15 minutes before we head out.
Will you direct is, instructing us on what to do while filming is taking place?
The essence of our films is capturing the raw moments as they unfold. We never ask a couple to say certain things to the camera or do certain actions. We want the film to reflect you naturally.
Do you film both groom and vide preps?
Yes, unless the package or locations prohibits it.
Do you mic the groom?
Yes, we mic the groom with professional grade wireless mic to ensure the vows are captured.
Do you shoot in HD?
We shoot with the latest Canon HD DSLR camera the 60D coupled with L series Canon lenses for superb clarity and vivid color. In addition we utilize Steadicam and Pocket Dolly technology for fluid cinematic shots.
Do I get to pick my own music for the Film Trailer?
Yes, we ask for a three songs total.
Do you offer discounts?
We are a highly trained, passionate, and unique team of cinematographers, and we feel our prices are extremely fair for our services. We put endless hours of time in training our-selves, preparing for and planning out our shoots, and editing the films. Because of this we do not offer discounts.
How long does it take to get our film back?
In the industry the typical turn-around time is 6 months to 1 year. Our goal is to make films that are not cookie cutter, but custom every time. Your Film Trailer will be completed and online a week after your event followed by the DVD and Blu-ray discs in 1-3 months.
