Culinary Art Catering was the best decision we made for our wedding, hands down. We got married at the Filter Building in Dallas, which is a completely DIY venue. Vivian Morgan with Culinary Art was spectacular in helping us arrange every detail, from napkin color to menu choices. On the day of, Vivian and her team made sure everything was set up correctly and their professionalism and can-do attitude let the day go off without a hitch, and I didn't need to hire a wedding coordinator. The chef and his team proceeded to serve our guests some of the best brunch food we've ever eaten! We had people raving about the food, even after the event. Shannon and I just wanted to say a huge "Thank You" to you, as well as the rest of the Culinary Arts Catering staff. The wedding was amazing and I can't tell you how many great comments we had regarding the food and service. First, I was very surprised that Yossi actually showed up himself to direct the staff......I didn't expect that and it was a very pleasant surprise to know that he puts that much effort into making sure his customers are taken care of. I can't tell you how impressed I was with him and his staff regarding the set up. I spent about 5 minutes with him confirming the arrangements and his crew went to work and got everything done with no problems whatsoever. The food was AMAZING!!!! We got SO many compliments on how good EVERYTHING was, from beginning to end. BTW, thank you so much for the suggestion on the different flavors for the fountains....everyone loved it! At the end of the night, your staff was so sweet to pack up the extra food for us to take with us......I'll tell you not a bit of it went to waste! Shannon and I actually left before they started cleaning up, but our friends told us that your staff did an absolute amazing job of cleaning everything up.....in fact, she said it was cleaner after they got done then it was before!! Not having been to a Culinary Art event or tasted their food, I wasn't quite sure what I would get when I booked them. All I knew was that their responsiveness, flexibility, creativity, and adaptability to my budget set them apart from other caterers I'd been speaking with. Closer to the wedding, the tasting with the chef (who is SUCH a character) really put me at ease. I knew then I was going to get a great product. (I should also note that I'm a food blogger, so the menu and quality of the food was a high priority in my planning process.) Fast forward to the wedding day, and the food was even better than I remembered. I still receive countless compliments on how delicious and original the food was. I was also very impressed with their staff - they didn't miss a beat.

I also decided to hire Vivian, their sales manager, to be my wedding coordinator on the day. Her fee is completely reasonable and her calm, cool, and collected persona is ideal for stressed-out brides and parents! She was organized, accomodating, attentive (my husband and I actual ATE at our wedding thanks to Vivian!), and kept the evening running smoothly. I even received compliments about how nicely the evening ran - never heard that one before!

To make a long story short, I am beyond thrilled that I hired Culinary Art. Whereas initially I thought I was stepping into the unknown, I now know that Culinary Art was by far one of the best decisions I made for my wedding.

My husband and I could not have been more pleased with the catering provided by Culinary Arts for our wedding!!! They were professional, attentive to our needs, flexible, and the food was AMAZING! I am not joking when I say that we had a number of guests tell us later that it was the best filet they had ever had! I would highly, highly recommend Culinary Arts to anyone who needs an event caterer!

Culinary Art was great!!! They surpassed my expectations. Everything looked so elegant and organized. I got the “frugal” package and I was afraid that it was going to look frugal. It didn’t, everyone thought we paid so much. I was so happy that the food came out wonderful.
The only thing I didn’t like was the amount of tip I gave the wait staff. I thought I brought enough cash for all the vendors, but I wanted to give them so much more than what I did, I felt they went above and beyond.

We were working with a very tight budget and a very large guest list. Vivian understood the situation and was able to provide us with a great menu and all the extras (plates, glass ware, bar tenders etc..) to meet our needs and incredible prices. She was very accommodating and easy to work with. We spoke to many different caters and she was the only one that could stay within our budget and was even willing to work within that budget while providing the best service. All her staff that work the reception was very professional and keep the party going with no mishaps. We are extremely please with the professional atmosphere we received and would highly recommend this service to anyone.

Vivian Morgan and Chef Yossi of Culinary Art Catering were key to the success of our daughter's wedding at Old Red on Sunday, May 29, 2011 - they could not have done a better job. The food was excellent and our guests are still talking about how they never had such good food at a wedding. The presentation was beautiful, the service was excellent and the linens and tableware were very nice. Once you contract with them, you do not need to worry about a thing - they listen, offer good ideas, and make sure that everything is exactly as you want it to be. They exceeded our expectations and provided excellent value for the money. I will recommend Culinary Art to anyone looking for a wonderful caterer.

Food and presentation were outstanding. Vivian was easy to work with and always very responsive to my emails. if I had another wedding to plan I would hire them again. My guests loved the food especially the risotto action station and the espresso bar.

They were very attentive and easy to work with. The food was amazing and they were reasonably priced. Vivian even went out of her way to be sure we had a "to go" plate for the hotel that night. They are also catering for one of my bridesmaids weddings later this year.

We had a wonderful reception...everyone was buzzing about the food. Loved it all. It was most beneficial to have the taste testing. Vivian was great. Easy to work with, professional and confident. Made Mother of the Bride very happy and able to enjoy the evening.

Food was great, exceptional customer service, and they catered to my wish of having mason jars for drinking glasses. They even allowed me to drop them off a week in advance, saving me a lot of time the weekend of the wedding.

When she said she wanted a "fun" wedding and "fun" desserts, you were the only caterers that had the menu to do that. EVERYONE at the wedding raved about how wonderful the desserts were (espeically the fried bananas and sundae bar). The bag lunches for the bridal party were delicious and a great value for the amount of food we got. Your staff was fantastic and kept everything going smoothly all night long. This whole experience was made wonderful by the caterer and the individuals associated with the caterer that helped to host our wedding. It rained all day the day of our OUTSIDE wedding so when the caterers got there, we had to improvise everything. They immediately went to work structuring an alternative plan from a less than perfect setting. When one young lady fell and a whole piece of chocolate cake smashed into the white carpet, they came to the scene and had everything taken care of before anyone even knew anything had happened. Everyone associated with this organization from the office to the chef to the servers (who were MUCH more than servers -- I call them angels) were extremely professional and personable. I would recommend this caterer to everyone.

My experience with Culinary Arts Catering was wonderful. The staff helped me tremendously in planning a wedding reception for my daughter in a very short time. Not only were they responsive, professional, and very curteous to my guests, the food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I received many complements on both the staff and the food. All the small details were handled and it was a pleasure working with them.

The food was delicious, the service was great and your servers and bartenders were fantastic! They personally served my daughter and her new husband and made sure they always had enough to eat and drink. I'm still getting compliments from our guests about the food and service. My wedding was held at my parents home last November (2009) at first I was worried about having to contact all kinds of vendors for flowers and tables and chairs and everything else you can possibly imagine. Luckily I stumbled upon Culinary Arts Catering. They took care of everything! They even helped my come up with a plan of when we would be cutting the cake, having our first dance and coordenating the toasts. It was so much easier than trying to figure everything out by myself. I really appreciated the care and attention they gave to my wedding especially because it was only for 40 people, other caterers I contacted didn't seem to want to work with a small group. Not these guys. They are definitly the best in the business

I spoke to about a dozen caterers, and Culinary Arts was one of two companies that really listened to my needs and responded with a custom proposal that really suited my wedding theme and format. They were very accommodating with all of my requests and easy to work with. I would recommend them and use them again.

You don't have to lift a finger...

okay maybe only when you are tasting their amazing food! Where do I even start! Culinary Art Catering was our first and only caterer that we went to when we were planning our wedding. Our first meeting and tasting with them was enough to seal the deal. We felt at ease, welcomed, and "catered" to from the beginning. They have a wealth of information and expertise to help you in all stages of your wedding and are so flexible and easy to plan with. The catering part of the wedding was so important to us, it was great to feel so confidant that things will go perfectly on the big day.

The day came and it was fabulous. I probably contacted, emailed, and called Sarah Kane a million times up to just days before the wedding of unforeseen changes that were happening and each time she was accommodating and made sure I wasn't stressed out. The food, the presentation, the courteous staff, the astonishingly quick set-up and tear down were all amazing! Culinary Art Catering also provided the bar service which was very popular and the beautiful linens. We have some picky eaters in our family, but many could not wait for seconds! Also, I have to mention that I was dying for a glass of water after all the festivities had ended and one of the wait staff went and got me one even though they were all packed up to go. That's the kind of care they put in to make sure you have a stress free and wonderful day.

I could go on and on about them and received so many compliments from our family and friends. You are doing yourself a huge favor by choosing Culinary Art Catering. I cannot wait to contact them again for a future event.

Culinary Art Catering catered our daughters wedding with short notice and did an excellent job! They provided delicious food and the staff was excellent. Laura- the Wedding and Event Coordinator from Culinary Art Catering was professional and gave great ideas for the reception set up. We were very pleased with everything.

Service, food, staff are excellent! I am impressed on how the staff manages the food or organization. They are quick, friendly and I would not know what to do without them. One of them even saved some food for me knowing that I am busy hosting guests and have no time to run to the buffet table! My guests like the food which is the most important thing. They are also flexible about me bringing my own food and dessert.

A couple of pitfalls... I had a second floor for the event party and the staff forgot to clean the upstairs, so my husband and I had to quickly cleaned it up. It was a small area fortunately. I ordered the paella which was lovely. However, the chef did not cut the chicken into small pieces, making it hard to eat, especially when it still has bones in them. My suggestion is to cut the chicken into smaller pieces. A lot of people did not touch the paella as a result.

Overall, I am very pleased and I would recommend anyone to cater from them! Thank you guys!

Great food and lots of compliments about it. They worked well with all the changes and revisions I made, were very easy to work with. Price point was resonable.

Great service. Very professional. Steve went out of his way to make sure everything went very smoothly on our wedding day. Food was fantastic. People are still talking about our whipped potato martini bar. They were a one stop shop for event rentals and catering. We were very happy with having chosen Culinary Art Catering. Thank you!!!

The food at our wedding was delicious. All of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the many selections which were provided and how wonderful it all tasted. Culinary Art also provided us with 2 bartenders, only one of which had bar tending experience. The female bartender was fantastic, the male bartender, despite his best efforts, became easily frustrated by the overwhelming demand placed on him and his lack of drink mixing knowledge. Food and food service get an A+, drink service gets just a C+.

Food was delicious and they answered emails quickly.

Our experience from the tasting up until our reception was excellent. Vivian worked with us on our food selections and budget. The quality and presentation of the food and portions served was very good and the bar and table service was excellent as well. However, the approved contract and table floor plan specified two-sided serving tables for the salad, veggies and macaroni bar and single serving table for the carving station. This was a buffet style dinner. Without consulting us or our wedding planner a decision was made by Culinary Arts to arrange all the serving stations end-on-end, together in one long line, as ONE SIDED NOT TWO with the macaroni bar at one end and the carving station at the other with the salads and veggies in the middle. This caused guests to form lines at both ends and meet in the middle which made no sense at all. There was only one attendant manning the macaroni bar and she was drying clean glasses and then slowly filling the glasses with pasta and they slowly adding the cheese and food toppings. If she would have just filled the glasses with pasta and allowed the guests to add their own toppings the line would have moved much faster. If there were two attendants it would have helped even more. The result was a wait of up to an hour or more for some of our guests to be served. My oldest friend and his wife who came in from Chicago had to wait an hour and fifteen minutes to be served dinner.
The available space was tight but did have room for two side serving and was approved by Vivian after a meeting at the reception venue with the caterer, wedding planner and venue manager. If she foresaw a problem it should have been addressed then or someone from Culinary Arts should at least have brought it to the attention of our wedding planner the day of. During the reception our wedding planner asked chef Yossi to do something about this and he replied that everything was fine and the guests were just visiting which was not the case. Vivian had come by at the beginning of our event (although I never saw her) but left to attend another event leaving the chef and staff to manage themselves.
I contacted Vivian the next week and she followed up promptly and was very nice about apologizing and offered to make it up to us in some way on a future event but who knows when that will be. I want to say again that everything else was fine but I felt so bad for our guests who had to wait so long to be served. I would not use Culinary Arts Catering again.

You know how everyone always complains about food for weddings that they attend? We did NOT have one complaint; we were only told how great the food was and guest wanted leftovers if you can imagine! The chef is amazing and talk with Vivian Morgan for great service!

I wanted to be able to rave about Culinary Arts Catering, but I just can't.

First, the good: I felt that Culinary Arts was very professional in all correspondence and on the day of the wedding. I felt that I was getting great customer service from Vivian Morgan, what I wanted was being listened to and added into the overall plan for the event. Also, the tasting was amazing! The food was superb and I was so excited I had them as my caterer. In addition, Vivian helped me set up the schedule for the day and gave great suggestions for using my venue to my advantage.

Then, the not so good: I had made it clear every step of the way that it was very important to me to have whole or quartered wheels of cheese at the event. In the past, I had worked in a cheese shop for over 2 years and this really mattered to me. It was written in the contract that the cheese would be "Served as uncut wedges, wheels, and in croute." While I did not expect all the cheeses to be served this way (some, really it is just better to have cut) I was very disappointed that NONE of the cheese where served in uncut wedges. I mean really - how hard is it to at least put a wedge of brie out there?

My second problem was the difference between the tasting (which was awesome) and the food served (which was good, but rather ordinary.) I understand that it is different serving 3 people in a tasting than 125 at an event - but I felt that the two were so very different, that the tasting was not a real representation of what I was served at my event.

The third problem was that at least one menu item I was going to have at my event was not at the tasting; at the wedding I ended up not liking that item and had wished I could have had tasted it before, so I could have changed it.

We were really looking forward to using CAC- the tasting went wonderfully and the chef is amazing. They really worked with our budget and got creative with the food to make it affordable for our reception. Unfortunately their performance at the event itself was less than desirable. First off, we had a mashed potato bar that was a big display in our buffet - well they ran out of mashed potatos within the FIRST FIFTEEN MINUTES of serving. The headcount we turned in was accurate and this was COMPLETE lack of preparation on their part. We ran out of vegetables about 15 minutes after that. Guests were complaining and wondering where these two foods went and my parents were mortified: There were now two huge EMPTY tables in the middle of our buffet setup! To make things worse, the catering manager is supposed to check out at the end of the night with the wedding coordinator and he (Steve) completely left before speaking with anyone. Our wedding planner was SHOCKED and embarassed she had recommended them. At least they were slightly more professional back at the office and gave us some of our money back for their mistakes. Sadly, I will have to tell you to STAY AWAY FROM CULINARY ARTS! I would hate for the same things to happen to you!!
