I had my first fitting the other day and was totally amazed by the great service and professional staff. I know my dress will be perfect when they are finished!

My daughters wedding was only 3 months away and she had bought her dress from an online website, it needed alterations and the veil needed to be changed into a comb instead of the bonnet. They were able to do the alterations and the veil in just under 2 1/2 months, it is perfection!! It looks beautiful on my daughter and fits her like a glove. I had priced the changing of the veil and was quoted $20.00 from a lady from a bridal shop, they charged us $5.00 for the change. It was a great price for what needed to be done and was done so quickly we were estactic. Beautiful work and personalities all around, definatley have told all of our friends. Thank you ladies for making a special day look beautiful.

This dress was VERY busy-with flowers and beading it would be a lot of work to fix it. I took it to the wedding seamstress on the recommendation of a friend, they were really helpful and sweet. They gave me the rundown on my options, as they could tell I was thinking budget the whole time, so we had a cheap cheaper and cheapest option, which was nice. Deedee could tell I was pretty devastated about the dress, so she gave me a big hug, which really helped alleviate some of the anxiousness I was feeling. She and her assistants were very professional and comforting and even told me that they suggest I go get other quotes because it’s important to know what’s out there, etc. so I did, but I didn’t get the same feeling from anyone else I spoke with and certainly no one gave me an understanding hug and one seamstress said she just flat would not work on this type of dress, ”too much going on” another seamstress wanted to put a ribbon on the bottom (?um, no) and another wanted an insane amount of money to work on it. Dee dee knows all about the mechanics of a dress in relation to body movements and measurements, which is important (you want to sit down). Also had some helpful hints on female body fluctuations too. She told me what to expect, what she could do and how to do it. She gave me a price and that was exactly what we were charged. This is by far the cleanest, most attentive, most sincere and knowledgeable place you can find in the wedding dress business. They have several custom gowns and had redone some older gowns with a makeover, they looked amazing. You can really tell these folks love what they do and try to make everyone feel like a princess for their big day.

I was SO impressed with the way my dress came out! I bought my dress in Houston at Winnie Couture and since I live here in Colorado, I wasn't able to take it there to be altered. I was so worried about finding a good seamstress to alter my dress but luckily my sister found this place. I got my dress altered and when I picked it up and there was no way I could have been happier with the way it turned out. It fits perfectly and it is exactly the way I pictured it. Also, it was nice and quick. I didn't have to stay there for hours in pins. She is amazingly accurate and talented. My wedding was yesterday and my husband absolutely loved the dress and even made a comment about how beautifully my dress fit! I would HIGHLY recommend The Wedding Seamstress to anyone- you will be pleased.

Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding day! You had a truly great Winnie Couture gown, which is fun because we don't have a Winnie Couture boutique in Denver! Thank you again for trusting us to be a part of your day!

I bought my dress at Bea's Bridal Nook and they had recommended the Wedding Seamstress for alterations. I am so glad they did because the staff there was fabulous. I needed the hem shortened and a bustle put in initially and was so glad they were able to do it within my short time frame (3 weeks). I came back 2 weeks before my wedding to try it on and because I had lost weight we needed to alter it again! I was scared that they wouldn't be able to with just 2 weeks until the wedding date, but the following week I came in and it fit perfectly. Crisis averted. Thank you so much, I will definitely recommend this location to everyone!

With only 3 short months to plan my wedding and get my dress altered, I took it to Dee Dee and she really turned it into my style and a reflection of who I am! I had a black lace wedding dress and her little added details transformed it into an incredible wedding dress that everyone could not stop talking about!
Thank you thank you thank you!

Deedee Vicory and team were amazing with helping me create my dream wedding dress! I saw the dress at Colorado fashion week last October and knew it was my dress! I had lost weight over the year and Deedee was very accommodating and met with me several times to make sure the dress fit me perfectly for my big day. My sister also had Deedee make her dress for her wedding in July and it was absolutely beautiful on her! I think what makes Deedee so talented is that she is able to make a dress that captures who you as a person and makes you feel so beautiful on your wedding day! Thank you Deedee!

Loved DeeDee and the Wedding Seamstress! Driving from Colorado Springs is not a big deal for the 100% satisfaction you receive. I bought my dress from a national/large bridal chain who said the dress could not be altered to a sweetheart neckline. I found it hard to believe that anything could not be altered--so I started looking. The reviews for seamstresses in the Springs seemed 50/50....but my friend recommended The Wedding Seamstress and I really could not be happier. Not only did she alter the neckline to a sweetheart (which looked great!), but she kept the dress after the second fitting until a few days before the wedding since I had changed measurements. She wanted to ensure that the dress fit and was ready to do last minute alternations if my body changed again. They were really easy to work with (not to mention they have chocolate if you need a little to relax after a stressful drive ;-) I received so many compliments on my wedding day. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend and it is worth the drive because really---a bride deserves 100% satisfaction for her wedding.

The Wedding Seamstress did an amazing job of hemming and bustling my wedding dress! The length was perfect and the bustle looked great! The bustle was easy to do and undo. The staff was friendly and took great care of altering my dress.

Dee Dee did an AMAZING job on my dress! I purchased by dress from Priscilla of Boston, which was having a store closing sale. So you buy as is with no alterations. The dress that I had purchased was a size 12, however i'm a size 0. Once I purchashed the dress I began to have doubts on whether the dress could be altered down to my size while keeping the integrity of the dress. Doing alot of research on local seamstresses, Dee Dee appealed to me the most. So I made an appointment and from there my expectations were met! She assured me that my dress can be altered down to a 0 and the intreigty of the dress will still be there. She told me to breath and not to worry at all. Every single appointment that I had she made sure that it was to my expectation- after all it was the biggest day of my life! She wanted me to love the dress and not just like it. My dress fitted perfectly and I have Dee Dee to thank! :)

Thank you for the kind words! You looked amazing in your dress and I am happy you chose to let us be a part of your big day! Thank you again!!!

DeeDee was absolutely amazing! I bought my all-lace dress used, and it needed major work to fit me--hemline, straps lengthened, bust adjusted, zipper replaced, etc. DeeDee completely reconstructed the dress, including suggesting alterations that I didn't even notice it needed, but that made it look a thousand times better. In the end, no one could possibly have known my dress was used - it fit perfectly and looked brand new. With DeeDee's help, I was able to wear my dream dress even though the brand new version was way out of my price range.

Thank you I love making a dress look it's best so that you feel and look amazing!

All I can say is WOW!!! To all of the Brides out there, you DO NOT and should not be forced into choosing the alterations provided by the bridal salon where you purchased your dress. Buy your dress wherever you'd like but then take it to DeeDee at The Wedding Seamstress!
Here's my story and proof of why The Wedding Seamstress is amazing:
I bought my dress from a bridal salon, which I will not mention, and they told me that their alterations lady was "the best in the business" so, not knowing better, (because it's not like you get married all the time) I went for it. I went in 6 weeks before my wedding, they pinned me all up and I left with a second appointment set for a week before my wedding.
4 weeks later... I get a phone call from said alterations lady stating that "it's just not going to work, we can't do your alterations. We're sorry."
Ummm... I'm sorry...what?!?!?
Anyways, that very same bridal salon knew it was their responsibility to make it happen so who did they call?!? The wedding seamstress! Of course they did, because even THEY know she's the best!!
I met with DeeDee 10 days before my wedding, she took my measurements, pinned like two spots on my dress and took pictures. I showed up a week later and Voila!! It fit perfectly and looked beautiful!!!! I walked out of the Wedding Seamstress EXTREMELY satisfied!
Brides, seriously, take your dress from the shop where you bought it and take it to The Wedding Seamstress! You...

D'Lola Couture makes finding a wedding dress all about your needs and desires for your wedding. Deedee went above and beyond to create a dress that was unique and matched my own needs and style.
Deedee and her staff were helpful and extremely accommodating for arranging appointments around my schedule. I do not live in Colorado and she was excellent about communicating and letting me know how my dress was coming to life. I could only visit the shop on the times I was visiting and there was never a problem to fit me in.
Both my sister and I got our dresses from Deedee. When we were in the shop it felt welcoming and comforting. The amount of care and dedication she has for both her clients and her work is truly phenomenal.

The wedding seamstress was great! I bought my dress at David's Bridal (I do NOT receommend them) and decided to take it to the Wedding Seamstress for alterations because I was not happy with the quality or customer service at David's Bridal. I was having my wedding in a different state from which I was living at the time, and that's where the first problems happened with DB. My dress was shipped to Colorado and I was living in Arkansas (which DB recommended I do). But when I tried to schedule alterationswith DB, they said I should ship it myself to Arkansas to do alterations there. I called The Wedding Seamstress and explained my situation. They were great at scheduling me for both fittings in the one week I was visiting Colorado before the wedding. I tried it on for the first time there and was worried because the dress was made so poorly that the lace overlay was cut crooked and was shorter than the satin in the front. The Wedding Seamstress did a great job fixing it and making the dress fit beautifully. I marked slightly lower on professionalism because I thought the seamstress wasn't very friendly. She wasn't rude, just didn't smile much and was a little short. But for the quality of service and flexibility, I highly recommend The Wedding Seamstress!!

Deedee at the Wedding Seamstress is fantastic. I went to her with a dress that I had purchased at a consignment shop. While the dress fit, I wanted to add some sleeves to it. I brought with me some photos of what I was envisioning, along with some lace and she went to work. At the first fitting, I fell in love with her work. She made the integration of the old dress and the new lace look seamless. It was so flattering and so unique. She is great to work with and really listens to what you want.

Dede and her team of seamstress do fantastic work in a very timely manner. The alterations to my wedding dress were stunning, and made it feel like the dress was ment for only myself. She also makes wedding dresses and if I would have know that before going out to buy a dress I would have had her make my a dress. Appointment times were rigid, but that is due to the volume of work they are doing on any given day.

I wanted to wear my mom's wedding dress that was 31 years old but I wanted to alter it a bit to make it more my style. I found The Wedding Seamstress online and thought I would give them a try. I am so glad I choose them, I was absolutely in love with my dress when it was all finished. Deedee and her team were all very professional and easy to work with. I got so many great compliments at my wedding about my dress, everyone couldn't believe it used to be my mother's dress. I would recommend The Wedding Seamstress to any of my friends getting married. Thanks so much Deedee, my dress turned out better than I could have imagined!

CUSTOM DESIGN + ALTERATIONS = Fantastic
I had purchased a used La Sposa Fanal dress and brought it in to Deedee to do some alterations. I wanted to convert the dress to a one-shoulder dress and brought three pictures as a guide. I left the rest to her expertise, creativity, and talent! The dress turned out beautifully! She designed a stunning floral garland over my right shoulder that was weightless, elegant, and blended perfectly with the lines of the existing dress.
Not only that, but her alterations were impeccable! Apparently, the previous seamstress has done a shotty job and had taken shortcuts in her stitching which caused the dress to pull and bunch in certain area of the bust. Deedee and her team completely resewed sections of the seams, recreating the beautiful sweetheart neckline that the original designer intended. And it fit like a glove!
And all of this for just about $300! Fantastic!!

Thank You so much! I would love to see the pictures. I think the one shoulder idea totally made the dress. Great vision.

Didi did a FANTASTIC job on my dress! When I came in, it was two sizes too big, and not quite the shape I wanted. She was able to make it fit perfectly, and flatter every part of me! I went for 3 fittings, which was perfect. It got a little better each time! I would definitely recommend her! She is quite busy, so leave yourself plenty of time to finish the alterations (mine took about 3 months for a spring wedding, but probably could have been done faster if I was in more of a hurry)

I came to Deedee and Justin Vicory with a dress purchased at a rather large bridal store and in its original state it lacked personality and uniqueness. However, I could tell it had good bones and with the right seamstress my vision would be recognized. After my first fitting, Deedee allowed me a “freak out” and completely indulged my neurotic follow-up e-mail reassuring me that the course to make a dress truly yours is not a one step process, it takes time and patience. The end result was far better than I could have imagined. The dress fit me like a couture gown made for my body alone and the care and attention to detail put into every last stitch it what I now consider to be a work of art.
As busy as the staff is you never feel rushed or hurried in any way once you walk in the door. Deedee takes the time to answer any question or concern with straightforward honesty coupled with expertise. I highly recommend Deedee and her team to make your dream gown a reality.

All of my alterations were done by the Wedding Seamstress and they were finsihed very quickly and the prices were incredible!

Deedee and her crew were amazing! I'm very tall and was worried about length so I bought my dress quite large and needed it seriously taken in. My dress was made of flowing, draped, chiffon with a fitted top and very open back so I'm sure it was not easy to keep the aesthetics of the dress while altering the fit so significantly. I was so excited to see it finally fitted that I left a bit early after what would have been my final fitting, not noticing that the hips were overlarge and really unflattering. Deedee was wonderful about letting me come back in right away and she personally fixed the issue. I felt horrible, knowing I was taking up her personal time (I made her late to dinner!), but she was so gracious. The dress fit so beautifully I wish I could wear it again!!

I had my dress altered at The Wedding Seamstress. It was a pretty fast and simple process and the price was reasonable. I was actually pretty surprised at the atmosphere based on prior reviews, so I will warn you that it's quite posh! That's not a bad thing, I was just not expecting it. Everyone was friendly and my dress looked great! Two thumbs up.

All I have to say is awesome, awesome, awesome. I love The Wedding Seamstress. They are professional, friendly, and provide great service. I was a little hesitant when I got my dress, but after it was altered to fit my body, I fell in love with it all over again. They made me look like a princess. I was so happy with the results and the prices are fantastic!!

Deedee is a truly amazing seamstress. I brought her a dress that was 6 sizes too big and probably a foot too long for me and she made it fit like a glove. She made my wedding dress better than I ever could have imagined! She was also very flexible and patient since I had to come back for extra fittings because I kept losing weight due to the stress of studying for the Bar exam. I can't thank her enough for the dress and the memories it brings me.

I hired Deedee to revamp my mother's wedding dress for my wedding. I would strongly steer others away from the Wedding Seamstress as I had a very bad experience. I'm not a difficult person to work with and found Deedee to be defensive, rude and easily agitated. She lacked communication and customer service skills. More importantly while she did ok with some portions of the dress, others were careless and lacked attention to detail.
I really wanted to make this work and didn't want to regret my choice of hiring Deedee but I wish I came to terms with her professional limitations and personal shortcomings sooner.
During my last visit it was clear she wanted to be done while I found the dress to look messy and unfinished. After an unsettling conversation, I decided to take my dress elsewhere and hired someone in Cherry Creek to fix & finish the job. The new tailor found Deedee's work unacceptable and sloppy. We discussed ways to rework the dress so it fit and looked better (many of which Deedee was completely closed-off to).
If you're looking to enjoy your wedding dress experience, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere.

Wow, it took longer than we thought it would to see this review. This bride threw a little tantrum in front of our staff and multiple other brides as she pulled the dress without even giving us a chance to finish the work we were contracted to do. We would love to see before and after pictures posted of our work so people can decide for themselves as to the quality of our work. Out of the 1,100 plus customers we will work with in 2011 it is unforunate that this bride let her emotions get to her (as stated by the other brides watching, not us) and had to pay somebody else to finish the work we working to finish for free.
As a note: the change from the mother's dress she brought in to the dress we delivered was significant and well done.
Additionally, we fix other tailor's work constantly and never degrade the work because we were not part of the original process with the bride. A good business should not rely on trying to make other businesses look bad as a way of making themselves look better. Everyone seems to pray on the emotions of brides for business this time of year... it really is too bad.

I purchased my dress as a sample from a bridal shop out of state. It was slightly big on me, so I took it in expecting to need a hem, bustle, and taking it in on the sides and a little bit in the chest. Deedee actually determined that it wasn't necessary to take the dress in on the sides, and that by adjusting the bust a little bit, it would create the fit I wanted. I was so happy when I tried the dress on after the alterations had been made. It really did look exactly how I hoped it would and was very flattering. The only issue I ran into was with the bustle; we struggled a bit to bustle my dress right before the reception. I chalk it up to being my fault because I didn't take any notes when she explained the bustle to me (2 months before the wedding), and I didn't have anyone there with me either. So just a tip to other brides to be sure to take a few notes on those tricky bustles :) Deedee's business is definitely very busy, especially during the height of wedding season, so it can be a little difficult to schedule appointments, which is how I ended up having everything done 2 months for the wedding. Luckily my weight didn't fluctuate, and everything still fit for the big day. Overall though I was pleased with how my dress turned out and with the service at the Wedding Seamstress.
GUEST

I could not be happier with this place. I had to have a lot of work done on my dress and it turned out perfect. Deedee knows what she is doing. As soon as I walked in I knew I trusted her because she was so confident. If you want your dress done right, go to her.

I had my wedding gown altered here and was not very happy with the service. I had some beadwork that needed to be done and was told by the staff it would be more cost effective to do it myself. I left the dress at the shop for some other alterations and was supposed to be able to take it home at the next fitting in order to work on the beading. When I went in for my second fitting most of the alterations that were supposed to be done were not, it didn't fit any better than it had when I brought it in! I was also told by my mother and my maid of honor who went with me to fittings that they felt they were rude in the shop. In the end my dress turned out well and it looked fine, but getting there was more complicated and frustrating than it needed to be.
Vendor response to review
Thank you for you review. We try hard to keep the cost down for brides on a budget, which can sometimes include suggesting doing some things yourself such as bead work which is time intensive (meaning more money). We apologize if this was seen as rude as it was not intended to be. Additionally, while we try to keep the number of fittings to only one (plus the initial time bringing the dress in), there are some instances where you may need to come back more times. In your case the dress needed more than one fitting and we are sorry for the inconvenience of having to make three total trips to our location. We hope that your wedding was great!!! Thank you again for the constructive review.

I cannot say enough good things about DeeDee. In short, she knows her stuff. At my first fitting, I tried on my unique twenties style dress I have not found the likes of anywhere but the consignment shop I bought it in. DeeDee immediately knew what designer, line, and year it was.
She is a superior seamstress not only because of her skill with sewing and her expertise designing, but also because she is so knowledgeable about bridal couture. She knows what the designer had in mind. With that said, she is extremely flexible. From slight changes to better accomodate body type to the extent of redesigning dresses completely, DeeDee wants what you want.
When I tried on my newly altered wedding dress at my last fitting, she asked me if there was absolutely anything at all that I would like differently about my dress. I was actually able to say no.
DeeDee is sweet, easy to talk to, and knows just the right thing to say.
Whether you're rich or poor, self-consious or self-loving, don't trust your wedding dress with anyone but DeeDee.

I had The Wedding Seamstress do the alterations on my wedding gown from David's Bridal(it was tafetta with a lace and beaded bodice). It was fairly expensive to do the alterations; I had her shorten the hem, and put in a pick-up bustle, and also take in the sides on my beaded bodice. I had an extremely hard time making an appointment to pick up my dress once it was finished a month later. I was travelling a great deal at the time, and had to cancel my original appointment, and requested to reschedule about two days to a week later. I was told they were backed up two weeks and there was absolutely nothing they would do to help me out. So I made an appointment for their next availability, hoping I would be able to work it out. I could not, and although I emailed and called their consultants and the owner, still absolutely nothing they would do to help me out. Third appointment, and I actually made it there (with tons of stress). The dress bodice was pretty tight and made cinch marks on my body where it was pulling so much. The owner told me she did that on purpose because it was tafetta and tafetta was going to stretch throughout the night of the wedding, so being a little tight was really going to help in the long run. Unfortunately, I took her word, and knowing what a hassle it would have been for me to make it in another time, I went home with the dress. Come the night of the wedding, my fears came true. The dress was much too tight, and had a cinched or bunched effect, and I could hardly breathe all night. I still couldn't breathe the next day because my whole torso had been squished so much. Moral of the story: tafetta does not stretch!

Hi Amanda,
I am so sorry that that happen to you.... I try really hard to allow time for my brides to get into me, however sometimes we get so busy it can be hard to change times around and I am looking at a way to fix that problem this next season. As for the dress I am so sad that it was so tight. We try and double check everything here, not only do we go off the pins in the dress but we always double check it with the measurements we took at the 1st fitting. I do this to make sure that the dress can fit as close to your measurements as I can so that I do not waste your time. I try and advise our brides to get into the dress a week before the wedding for a dress check and if their dress needs any adjustment to bring it back in and I will work you in even if it means staying late. I know that for busy brides that's really hard to do but I like to leave that up to them. I am not really sure what happened. It really makes me sad to know that you were not as happy with the dress as you were here with your mom. I feel really bad. I know I can not change that day of how you felt, but I would like to say I am so sorry.

DeeDee is great! I got an appointment in a reasonable time and loved visiting her store! It is adorable and has a wonderful vibe!
She and her staff were friendly and you could tell they were very busy since it was wedding season!
She allowed me to get into my dress and listened to what I wanted. I had a pair of Spanx on and she even told me to remove the crazy garment because it didn't let the dress sit properly on my body! Love the woman - who tells you to ever take off Spanx?
My dress needed to be shortened and she told me that I was one of the easiest alterations to my normally difficult BCBG dress! It was fast and reasonable!
I'm so glad that I worked with her and she put me at ease for my big day! DeeDee and her staff are wonderful!

After purchasing my dress from a nearby Bridal Salon, I took my dress to Deedee for a consultation. I was shocked to find out that my dress was 3 sizes too big for me and was heartbroken when I put it on because it made me look HUGE. I met with several other seamstresses in the area and she was, by far, the only one who understood exactly what needed to be done. She may not be the cheapest, but you truly do get what you pay for. After my first fitting, I almost cried seeing my dress the way it was supposed to look on me. She took it in 3 inches down the entire side seam, did a hem, sewed cups in, and made a bustle. I am very pleased with how my dress fit me on my wedding day, I had a million compliments and it was because Deedee and her staff made my dress look how it was supposed to look!

Let me say, i was comferted with the friendlyness of dee dee and her staff. After a stressfull experiance with the davids bridal staff, ( who wanted to charge me $350.00 to take my dress in from a 12 to a 9.5 from the hips up ) I was extreamly impressed with her knowladge and vision for my dress. They took the stress out of it when I was charged $82.00. i would tell any bride who whos dress dosnt fit quite right to take it to the wedding seamstress!

I only had bra cups put in, my French bustle, and my hem done but the work was fantastic. I did have to go in three which they told me was lot... :) I didn't think so, I went in for an original measurements, a second time to try it one and the final time it was perfect.
The quality, price and quick turn around where all fantastic.

I cannot even put into words how wonderful I think Deedee at The Wedding Seamstress is. I went to her with a halter top dress that I was not too thrilled with. She added cap sleeves that completely changed the dress into something I absolutely loved! She also altered 3 bridemaid dresses all at an amazing cost.
Deedee is amazing at what she does. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I recently had my dress altered for my wedding and was a little nervous about who to choose for this because there were so many different companies to choose from in Colorado. I could not be more pleased that I chose the Wedding Seamstress for my dress alterations. I felt so comfortable to let them alter my dress because they were very professional, clean, honest, and amazing!! I am the type of Bride who is very picky about things especially when it comes to altering my dress. When I went in for the final fitting I could not have been more suprised as to how well everything fit!!
They did an amazing job and are probably the best in Colorado!! I live on the south end of town but was willing to drive all the way to Olde Town Arvada for my dress alterations because I knew they would be the perfect company to alter my dress. They do everything in house and will make sure you are completely happy with your results or they will fix it at no charge until you are satisfied!!
Thanks Wedding Seamstress & Staff!!

Never got a call, the veil was not ready on time, I did tell them that I was coming in on Saturday.... Trust me, I do not exaggerate. Also, it was the seamstress that suggested placing the hook in my dress. I had lost more weight before the weddinig and it was her advice that I followed. Interesting that someone who was not there would narrate about it.......
The cost of alterations was reasonable but I had several problems with this vendor.
A. My veil was not ready on time. The owner told me that it would be sent to me and I could call w/my cc or send payment. This was nice since it is a 45 min drive to their shop. Weeks and weeks went by and I called to check on the status of my veil. I spoke with her husband on the phone who was not only very very rude and unprofessional but said that any arrangement that I had made with his wife was now null and void. I ended up having to make the 45 min trek up to Arvada to pick up my veil. I was offered a very weak apology and still had to pay full price!! Very unprofessional!
B. My dress was still too big and wouldn't stay up at my final fitting. The seamstress put in an extra clip to make the dress tighter. The day of my wedding the clip broke and the seam ripped!!! I had to be sewn into my dress!!!
All said, the price was reasonable but I think they could learn a little about how to interact w/customers. I would have rather paid more money for better quality service and attitude. The drive up to Arvada was NOT WORTH IT, not even for the chocolate bar........

In all cases I try and find where we could have done a better job in responding to our customer’s needs, however in this case I feel we were more than accommodating. For instance, this bride opted out of leaving a deposit for a veil, which was a custom made, fully beaded veil that we only charged her $70 for, and wanted us to send her the veil in the mail without paying anything for it. We had offered to send the veil, with the shipping costs completely incurred by us upon payment, however she did not want to pay for the veil until she received it. As a policy we will not send items to clients prior to payment, and Deedee was under the impression that the bride had left a deposit for the veil at the time. When we tried to contact the bride, she never called us back. The bride instead just showed up on a Saturday, which is our busiest day, interrupted other brides’ appointments and demanded our time, even though she didn’t have an appointment or let us know she was coming.
This bride has a Pricilla of Boston dress in which she was able to take it home after only two trips to our studio, one to drop it off and one to pick it up. There was extensive work to be done to her wedding gown, and she saved a lot of money by using us versus using the Pricilla of Boston alteration department. She was completely happy with the tailoring at the time of the pick-up, as we ask every client if they are satisfied with the work performed, and to sign off on the contract, which she did.
As far as the bride’s dress goes I think this is a lesson for all brides. This bride was told that she should not be sewn so tight into her dress, but she insisted on knowing better than the seamstress. As a matter of reason it seems only normal that stuff will start to come apart if a bride is larger than the dress, which was the case after tailoring; at the brides request. It sounds like the hook bent, which again would point to the fact that there was far too much stress put on the seams, the zipper and the hook. As a note, this dress was a strapless dress which are notorious for making brides feel that they are not tight enough even when tailored correctly. Strapless dresses are designed to sit low, and no amount of tailoring or making it super tight will ensure it to “stay up” where the bride feels it should. If you are a bride reading this, please understand that you are asking for professional advice, and if you choose to go against it, regardless if you are using us or another tailor, then you will be assuming the risk of potentially needing to be sewn into your dress on your wedding day.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY - NOT TO MENTION THEY WILL RUIN YOUR WEDDING EXPERIENCE!!!!! I also met with DeeDee (the owner) to have a corset back added to my wedding dress. She was not very polite to begin with and didn't even take my measurements on our first meeting, which should have been a red flag to start. I called to see if I could come back to try my shoes on with my dress and they said that they could have it ready a week early and it would be no problem. When I went back to pick up my dress, it was a MESS! It did not even resemble a corset. She rudely tried to convince me that she is a professional and that was what a corset looked like (although it looked NOTHING like the photos I brought). She then told me that she couldn't match the dress color so she made the entire thing out of DRESS LINING! -how cheap! and then to top it off, it didn't fit! the top of the dress was too big and she said that the corset could be tightened and it would fit, but failed to tell me that it could NOT be pulled tighter because the loops that were created were entirely too big and all of them were different sizes and didn't align. After that, she told me that the ribbon could not lay flat because of "engineering" which is the craziest thing I have ever heard. If she was such a professional, she would have seen with her "trained" eyes that I had a sloppy, non-functional corset that I could have never worn on my wedding day and should have NEVER allowed a client walk out of the door like that! The craziest part was that she finally tried to convince me that it was "our lack of communication" that caused the outcome and she got very angry with me. I thought photos of what I wanted would have been enough to communicate what I wanted my dress to look like and just assumed it would fit!!! Finally, after my phone calls, comments from other professionals, and photos of the "mess" they refunded me half of my money and then claimed that the day AFTER I picked up my dress the proper materials (not the dress lining) flew in on the jet from New York!~ haha, what a load of crap!!!! I found perfect fabric at Denver Fabric and hired a REAL seamstress!!! I would give them ZERO stars!!!! - oh and I see they are hiring interns. Sounds like DeeDee must be too busy working on her line and is having her interns do her client work - BEWARE!!!

This review of The Wedding Seamstress is unfortunate for a number of reasons. As with any issue there are two sides to the story. First, the bride came to us insisting that a corset be put into her dress even though she could fit into the dress at the time she brought it. The zipper completely zipped up and we should have insisted that there was not a reason to put a corset in, especially since she insisted that as little “opening” of the dress that was needed was what she wanted. There was never a need to take measurements for a corset since the idea of having a corset would be that it would fit a variety of sizes.
When the bride called to move the appointment up two weeks the dress was waiting for fabric from one of our textile companies out of New York (we have receipts to verify our fabric connections but will not list our sources publicly). The bride’s dress was made of satin silk. Her dress was an older Amsale given to her by a friend, and we wanted to make sure we used a grade of silk similar to the dress, which usually cannot be found at Denver Fabrics as their inventory changes from week to week. When she moved the appointment up we improvised by using a lining material which matched perfectly in color.
Upon her arrival the bride was unhappy, but she was unhappy and/or stressed from showing up 30 minutes late to her scheduled appointment. As she questioned the look of the corset Deedee continuously asked how we could fix it to make it more to her liking, especially since her wedding was not for another 2 ½ months. She insisted it “was fine” and seemed pleased upon leaving and signing our standard “acknowledgment of acceptance”, meaning that she was happy when she left. Had she stated that the dress was not to her liking we would have loved to have fixed it for her; 99.5% of our brides are happy with our service (we track it) and we try very hard to make that number 100%. While the corset this bride received was not to her satisfaction we never had any issue with correcting the situation. Unfortunately this bride opted to never return; only requesting via email that we refund 50% of the amount. We responded promptly by refunding the amount requested, but we still asked to be allowed the opportunity to fix the dress, at no charge of course.
Finally, only because it is the last remark of the review, this bride did not have any interns work on her dress. This was purely an assumption with no grounds to be stated. While we do have interns learning the seamstress trade with us we would never have allowed an intern to work on this corset.
While this bride’s experience was an anomaly, and we never had a single opportunity to fix the situation with her, we do take these things VERY seriously. The reference to a lack of communication by the bride was a misunderstanding as the lack of communication was a failure on our end, one of which will not be repeated. We are committed to high end customer service and have quickly worked to remedy any holes in communication in which we have internally. There is always opportunity to improve as a company and we believe this is one of those opportunities. Undoubtedly this bride is far and few between that has a bad experience, but it is still unacceptable to us and all future clients can rest assured that our quality and customer care exceeds that of other alteration and dress making studios in the Rocky Mountain Region.

I worked with the wedding seamstress for alterations on my wedding gown and she was amazing! I had found the absolute last available sample of my dream gown that had been discontinued and she was able to take it and turn it into a spectacular one of a kind dress. I would highly recommend the wedding seamstress to any Denver area brides.

This place is a hidden gem! She really knows the science behind the bridal gown and does it for the right cost; affordable and well done. She took in the side seams for my bridesmaid dresses, and did the hem and bustle on my dress. My bustle did rip and fall out at the end of the night, but I blame it on the wet ground and weight it added to my dress and the delicacy of the chiffon. My one suggestion would be to air out your dress after it goes there. I think the owner prior to Deedee smoked and that smell is left a bit after the dress has been there for a while.

I am so glad I found DeeDee. She does great work and I was completely happy with everything. The alterations she made on my dress and the bridesmaid dresses turned out great. The bustle was perfect. DeeDee also made a custom veil to match the bead work on my dress.

I brought in a dress to be reconstructed. It turned out absolutley beautiful and it only cost about $375. It was exactly what I wanted and was finished far ahead of time.

I had a family member hem my wedding dress because I was trying to be frugal. It wasn't done intentionally, but the hem was crooked, it was too short, and it was just plain horrifying. I had to act quickly because I only had less than 2 weeks before the wedding. I found The Wedding Seamstress online, called them and they had me in there the next day. They knew immediately what had to be done and how to do it. The lack of time was not a problem for them. They had my dress fixed and dry cleaned in time for my wedding. I will truly say that The Wedding Seamstress saved my dress and my special day!

The only alterations I had done was the bustle. The bustle looked great and was easy to put up.
