We used Dan for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He was so easy to work with during the planning process. Our guests spoke VERY highly of him & everyone loved the Steel Drums. So happy that we hired him!

Mr. Meunier did a great job providing steel drum music during our cocktail hour at the reception. The volume was perfect--not so loud that you couldn't talk over it but definitely adding to the celebratory ambience. I received many comments that it was a nice touch and something different.

Mr. Meunier was responsive and professional. He delivered exactly what we contracted for.

Daniel, you made my wedding & cocktail hour! I've had so many of my friends & family who were at my wedding comment on how awesome the steel drums were & how they made the wedding! You were able to create the atmosphere and island vibe that we were hoping for. The steel drums transformed my wedding from something that was just another outside wedding to the island destination wedding in Pittsburgh that we hoped it would be! Thank you so very much for your music. You made our wedding day magical & unique! I will definitely keep you in mind for the future, (since you were apart of our special day) & recommend you to anyone who is looking for an AWESOME steel drum player!

We absolutely enjoy Daniel's steel drum music. We hired Daniel to play the ceremony and cocktail music for our daughter's wedding in August 2009 - she had an destination style wedding outside at the Chadwick. His music created the island atmosphere that we needed and our guests really enjoyed the music. We also hired Daniel to play at our youngest daughter's graduation picnic. Also, we have been at other events where he has played. Great to work with and a great musician.

I perform along to pre-recorded background music of the highest quality to bring the sound of a full Caribbean band to any cocktail hour or reception at a very affordable price. In a typical music set, I blend the rhythms and sounds of traditional Trinidadian Calypso, Jamaican Reggae, Brazillian Bossa Nova and American Jazz and popular music. Holding this all together is the evocative sound of the Caribbean steel drum, made by one of the finest steel drum craftsman in the world. Additional Advice

What type of music do you play?

In a typical music set I mix the rhythms and sounds of traditional Trinidadian Calypso, Jamaican Reggae, Brazillian Bossa Nova and American Jazz and popular music. I perform along with pre-recorded background music of the highest quality to bring the sound of a full Caribbean band to the event or party. My diverse repertoire also includes dance music and classical music which sound great on the steel drums for weddings and formal events.

Will you play my favorite song?

I will also learn one song of your choice if you have a special favorite that you want to hear at your event, as long as you supply a recording at least one month prior.

What are your set-up requirements?

I require an 8 X 8 performance area with one three-pronged electrical outlet close to the performance space. The steel drums are sensitive to direct sunlight, and can go out of tune quickly as the metal head heats up, so I require a shady area or a 10x10 canopy for performance. I also request a level playing area on a solid surface (no bark, sand, or gravel). Grass is acceptable, as long as the surface is level.

How long do you play?

Typically I perform a one hour set followed by a fifteen minute break, and then forty-five minute sets after that. During the break or even before or after my performance I can DJ music through the sound system or play music that the host supplies.
