Simply amazing, I am very happy with Darren's work. Him and his assistant were both very professional and the photos came out beautiful. I would definitely choose their services again for any other occasions.

Darren shot my maternity photos as well as a family photoshoot. Darren was nothing but professional on both occasions. I really like his laid-back personality - it helped me to not get too stressed during the sessions. Darren takes superb photos and really seems to capture all of the important details. The thing I love the most about Darren's photos are that they are natural - no artificial poses or awkward/corny shots. It is really easy to forget that he is actually taking pictures. Darren's turnaround is satisfactory as well - unlike other "studios" that I have dealt with in the past. Overall, I am very pleased with Darren's services. He is not only a great photographer, but a great person as well. Definitely give him a chance - you will be pleased!

Darren saved our wedding pictures! We had an absolutely horrible experience with a previous photographer and we desperately searched for another one after we got the pics back. We found darren online and he responded quickly. He was so great to work with and he took the pictures that I had been hoping for!!! He is fantastic!

Darren Spurgeon Photography is one of South Florida's newest and exciting portrait and wedding studios. Weddings are shot in a natural, unobtrusive style that capture the moments that you remember for a lifetime. We offer album creation, engagement sessions, bridal portraiture, and a host of other services. Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

I've worked in a variety of lighting situations. Each has its challenges, but a great image can be had with any lighting.

Is your media preference film or digital?

I shoot exclusively in digital.

How many photographers do you work with?

I shoot all my weddings as the principal photographer. Occasionally, depending on your needs, I'll bring a second photographer with me to assist. Rest assured, these professionals are ones that I trust and have worked with in the past.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

When you book me, you get my undivided attention for that day. Booking more than one wedding would not only be exhausting, it would be unfair.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Yes. I maintain strong relationships with other photographers in the area that can provide you with a good level of service if I become unavailable for whatever reason.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

I travel fairly light so I can be part of the event without getting in the way. You'll find me with two cameras on hand and a small bag of gear. Backups of each major piece of equipment are kept nearby, too.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Yes.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

Yes and yes. If you just need a couple hours, I have a low hourly rate. However, most of my clients get a better value by purchasing a package with a block of hours that best suit their needs.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

My hourly rate is the same regardless of time of day.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

During the main reception meal, you may find me eating, too. That?s usually my only break on the day.

Do you charge for travel?

I don't charge travel fees for events within the tri-county area (Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach). Fees for travel outside this area will depend on the destination.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Within 30 days.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

I offer every client online proofing that's very convenient. However, you'll have the option for printed proofs or a proof book.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

You may keep them as long as you'd like. Tip: for printed proofs, make a wall collage or give them as gifts.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Yes, I retain the copyright. However, you can certainly use any of the images for your own personal use.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Yes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

Yes.
