Everyone at David Allen Catering is just wonderful. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, and we couldn't have done it without their hard work. They were able to coordinate with our other vendors for alcohol and dessert, and we didn't have to worry about a thing. All of the guest loved the food, and thanks to the attentive staff who set up our own little dinner table in the back, we were able to have some and enjoy it too. David Allen Catering truly understands how crazy weddings can be, and they go above and beyond to make the day as stress-free as possible. The set up and take down went so smoothly, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious everything was (one wanted to beg them for the vodka sauce recipe - the pasta bar was such a hit!).

We have nothing but the utmost appreciation for the David Allen Catering staff. From the initial planning meetings to the tasting to the day before the wedding to the very end of the night, they were extremely coordinated and displayed expertise with everything they did. We couldn't have picked a better caterer!

Can't find a bad thing to say! Everything was amazing, from working with our budget, to customizing our menu, to accommodating changes!

I found David Alan Catering almost by accident in a google search. I sent a request for pricing and was amazed that they were almost half the price as other quotes, and they included the wedding cake and linen. I thought... what is up with this place! Despite my initial hesitation i set up a meeting with Meghan, the Wedding Organizer for David Alan, and it ended up being the best thing i did for my wedding. 1) the prices are reasonable because that is not where this company makes all their money, so all overhead costs are not passed down to you. Once Meghan explained this to me I was just so happy. 2) Meghan was so responsive , accommodating and had a can-do attitude about the whole wedding, she met with us multiple times. From organizing a tasting during a snow storm to meeting us at the casino so we could go gamble afterwards, she was a pleasure to work with (by the end of the wedding i had sent her hundreds of emails back and forth) we always had trust that she had our best interests at heart and not the bottom line.
A great asset about David Alan is that they have contacts with other vendors, they included our wedding cake from another vendor with the initial budget, they setup and broke down the chairs for our outdoor wedding, they even rented fans for us. Meghan worked with us on a lot of things , like finding us a bartender for our open bar ( where we bought all the alcohol, open bar for less than 1K yes please!).
Finally the food and staff. With multiple passed apps, stationary apps and a "wandering buffet" with a pasta station and a carving station. Everyone was full to the hilts at the end of the wedding and raving about the quality of food. It was presented beautifully and absolutely delicious.
As far as the staff, I was stunned at how professional everyone of them were. Meghan had assigned a member of the weight staff to both me and my husband so we never had to wait in line for food or drinks from the bar.
They could not have done a better...

We cannot say AMAZING enough! David and his staff were top notch, and we are so glad to have found them. As I was out of the country, much of my correspondence with David was via email, he was always quick to write back and able to answer all our questions. We had a fairy tight budget, and a 1950's bbq theme. When we talked about our ideas David was completely on board and even provided us with ideas we hadn't thought about.

We had not really expected a tasting, but when I got back into the country David set one up. It was such an amazing experience! Lets just say both my husband and had to roll ourselves out of the tasting we ate so much.

On the day of the wedding David was there and setting up before we even arrived. David and his crew provided us with everything we had asked for, and even more. The food was made fresh in the venue not brought in pre-cooked, and the ice cream for our milkshakes was from a local farm. Our guests all raved about the food, and even more importantly the service!!! David was there throughout the whole event, and helped us out were other vendors had fallen short.

We simply cannot thank David Alan Catering and the crew enough for everything they provided us. If we ever had a need for catering again David Alan would be the only name on the list.

David was great!!! He is a friendly and professional guy that sat back and listened well to what my bridezilla wanted him to do at our wedding. He was very easy going and never seemed bother by our silly, detailed requests. He was very flexible with our requests. We had our wedding in our yard which made the day a challenge, but he was willing to do whatever we asked to help us on our special day. David was GREAT to work with. I can't express how pleasent he was. And the food was wonderful as well. He cooked exactly what we asked and customized everything to just the way we wanted it. If bridezilla wanted it, he added it to the menu. For example she wanted free range chicken breast, so he got just that. If you have not heard of David Allan Catering before, I suggest you get in touch with him. I can guarantee it will be worth your while crosssing paths with the owner David to talk about your wedding ideas. David did a great job of keeping my bride calm. He was confident and never seemed stressed out despite the traditional stress that came with our wedding. I am confident David Alan Catering would be a great company to go with no matter where, when or what type of wedding you are planning.

David and his company couldn't have been better! He was everything I wanted and more with an attitude that was nothing but patient and understanding. After talking with several other wedding caterers in the area I wasn't feeling too excited about my wedding budget. They all said my budget was unrealistic and that I should "look at the Everyday Catering menu". But then David replied to my email with enthusiasm and a great menu to start from that only improved with converstaions. He gave the perfect balance between my idea of a Wandering Wedding/Picnic style and my mom's more formal Buffet/Sit-down style. And he was more than willing to talk, email or meet anytime I asked.

And it's not just his services and attitude, the food is still being talked about months after the wedding! The chipolte steak, pasta station, EVERYTHING was AMAZING! The extra plates left for us after the reception were gone in less than an hour. People had second and even third helpings.

I HIGHLY recommend David to any one for any occasion, but definitely for weddings!

Excellent food, very fair price, and extremely flexible and supportive. Truly helped make the wedding an carefree enjoyment.

Where do I begin. From the very beginning David was the most responsive and professional out of all the caterers we talked to. I was impressed with everything from his menus on his website to his outlook on food and freshness of ingredients. We didn't even choose from his menus instead I wrote David an e-mail about the foods my fiance and I love and the vibe we were going for. Most importantly my maid of honor sister and I can't eat gluten, but David was 100% accomodating about that from the very beginning.

I was planning this wedding from Nebraska and could only meet David in person on the few weekend days that I was in town visiting family but he always made himself available.

On our wedding day there was nothing I needed to worry about. Everything went smoothly from the table linens looking perfect to the food coming out exactly at the right times even though we had RAIN! And the FOOOD! Oh my it was fantastic. Everyone wouldn't stop talking about the chip, guac, cheese, fruit and cracker spread that was out. The passed apps were delicious and the chipotle sweet potatoes were the biggest hit. Davids staff was increidbly friendly and helpful and everyone LOVED our bartender. They even provided us with smoothies!

From the very beginning to the very end everything about working with David and his team was perfect.

From the very first phone call, then meeting, then taste testing...all the way to the wedding, we always felt comfortable and that David had everything in control for our day. Not once did we ever feel pressured into something that would have been easier for him or for his convenience, it was always about making our day just the way we wanted it, and he did! Even when the unexpected arose once or twice, he handled himself, and his crew, professionally and got things done right. We truly could not have been happier with his workmanship, and of course the food was just what we wanted, GREAT! I would recommend him and his company to any bride/groom that wants what every wedding truly should be, personal and tasteful. Thank you again David, we were and are still so thankful.

David was BEYOND spectacular! My husband had worked a few weddings with him so when we got engaged, he knew exactly who he wanted to cater for us. I was sold the minute we got his proposed menu. We absolutely loved all of his ideas and he was really great about our tight budget and dietary concerns for some of our guests. We were able to do most of the planning via email and the tasting blew us out of the water. The presentation of the food is so impressive. It's not just placed out but more interactive (ex. a pasta bar with skillets to mix it all together in front of you)

It's been 3 months since our wedding and our guests are STILL talking about how fabulous our food was and how impressed they were with the presentation (even while at other weddings)! My mother-in-law is planning her wedding now and there was no debating who would be catering hers!

I cannot say enough great things about David Alan and his staff. Our backyard wedding reception for my son and daughter-in-law was outstanding.David's helpfulness in eagerly answering all of my questions;his ability to work with us in planning and his flexibility in menu were wonderful. The staff at our home could not do enough for us from set up to break down . The food was delicious,(everyone had seconds),the service was impeccable .They made our day special in every way.Many thanks to David and his wonderful staff.I would highly recommend David Alan Catering for any special occasion you need.I was able to enjoy my son's reception knowing my guests were in good hands!

AMAZING! PROFESSIONAL! DELICIOUS! I cannot say enough about David and his team. I am not a firm believer of the saying "Things happen for a reason," because I found myself looking for a new caterer 4 months before our wedding. David luckily had the date availble and he was so flexible and approachable in all of our meetings and the tasting. My husband works in the food industry and my brother is a chef so I had some tough critics to keep in mind when choosing a new caterer. David's style was PERFECT for what we were looking for...delicious, accessible, but still creative and inventive. I knew once we met him and talked with him that I no longer had to worry about anything.

The presentation on the big day was awesome- clean, modern, and organized.They took care of everything! We had so many people tell us during the reception and afterwards how good the passed aps were (mini cubans, blue cheese and onion quesadillas, coconut crusted shrimp, and my favorite steak and cheese springrolls). We had a buffet set up and a carving station which was great for the size of out wedding. The food was made fresh on site and you could tell, which was important to us. I could go on and on about how GRATEFUL we were to have had David and his wonderful team cater our wedding. I would recommend him to ANYONE without hesitation! The price was right (which he is very flexible about...works within anyone's budget), the piece of mind was there, and the food was phenomenal. Thank you David and team for an unforgettable meal on an unforgettable day!

We couldn't have asked for a better caterer working with David and his team for our recent wedding. Almost everything we agreed upon in the contract appeared exactly as we had asked on our wedding day, with the exception of a few minor things being switched or omitted without our knowledge.
David was very responsive to emails and phone calls and was totally open to creating almost any menu item we asked for. He was genuine, down to earth and friendly. Guests seemed to really enjoy the food (most of it was gone by the end of the night) and appreciated the homemade aspect of it all (as in, nothing tasted like it came from a box or bag!).
Service was on time and professional and waitstaff (with the exception of the one female waitress who snapped at a guest of mine, unfortunately) were excellent.
The pros of working with David Alan catering definitely outweighed the minor, MINOR issues we had, but that's the case working with any caterer. We were extremely frustrated with our caterer search before we found David and his team and we're happy to have worked with them for our wedding!

I met David Alan at the Bridal Expo at the Expo Center in Hartford this year. We discussed a few options for my VERY picky groom and I was sold. They did such a wonderful job customizing the menu for us and tweaking any little thing we needed. He even did our rehearsal dinner for us last minute, the night before he had a wedding of 130 people. Everything from passed appetizers to the bar was phenomenal every guest thoroughly enjoyed it (even my very picky groom). We will defiantly be using David Alan for any other event that needs catering.

David was beyond fantastic. I am a bit of a foodie and had decided that I would only settle for a menu that reflected who I was as a person as well as my particular tastes. David asked me to write him an email about what food meant to me and my fiancee and I must have written a page about thanksgiving, christmas, the types of food I was currently cooking, and what comfort foods my husband loved. David turned that email into a menu.

Ever since the wedding, people keep remarking what a great day and a good time they had, and the FOOD! I wanted the food to be something to be enjoyed and remembered and IT WAS! I dont think I could offer a better compliment to David than the statements made by my friends and family - this was the BEST WEDDING FOOD they EVER had!

David offers inventive and personalized menus to his customers. For my anniversary celebration, we worked on an awesome party menu that included 9 great passed appetizers (pizza, sliders, lettuce wraps, etc), a Mexican buffet station, and a fun dessert station with milkshakes! The party was a complete success with enough staff to serve everyone and make sure the event ran smoothly!

For our daughter's wedding, David and his staff (and his wife) were wonderful to work from the planning stages till the wedding day. They took care of all the details and saw to it that we were able to enjoy the day stress free. They were able to work very well in coordination with other vendors for our ethnically dual wedding ceremony and reception. They were personally present throughout the event to ensure a successful day. They worked in a timely manner during the course of the day.
We highly recommend them and will definitely use them again for our future events.

I can't say enough about the flexibility of David Alan Catering. My brother was bringing some home-brewed beer to be stored in David Alan's coolers the Friday before the wedding. When my brother hit traffic and was 3 hours late, we missed our connection with David. Luckily for me, David Alan was passing by the town we were in and offered to pick up the beer on his way to his next job. He saved the day for me and the beer stayed fresh for the reception on Saturday. Thank you, David!!

I'm so happy I ended up choosing David Alan Catering for my July 24th wedding. throughout the planning stages, he was always easy to reach with my many many questions, and he impressed everyone with his professionalism and organization. They say many brides don't get a chance to eat or enjoy themselves at their wedding, but I had no worries leaving everything in David's competent hands, and after trying out the goods at his tasting, there was no way I was missing dinner! David and his staff exceeded my expectations. Our daughters wedding was perfect in every way. The food was prepared according to our instructions and the presentation was amazing! My wife and married in June. We found David Alen Catering and knew during our first encounter that this was the only event catering service to use. I cannot express how happy we were with all aspects of this firm. As the reception is such a large part of any wedding, it was nice to know that all our guests were extremely impressed with the food and wait staff service. The number one question from our guests was "who was the caterer!" Then they wanted to know where we were going on a honeymoon. The food was perfectly prepared, the presentation was professional, and the staff made all who attended feel comfortable.

David Allen Catering is argueably one of the best caterers I have had the pleasure to work with. I counted (3) pre wedding meetings that he had with his staff prior to the wedding during set up, he went over the process of the event, roles, what was on the menu, what was in the food (for allergy concerns) etc. His staff was knowledgeable, friendly and looked terrific in their uniforms with long aprons. He delivers high end steak house quality out of a temporary kitchen. The food was delicious, arrived at the tables at once, and was timely. David and his team will be highly recommended for many weddings to come. Thank you David!!
