i went early with my cousin in law but they're still close and opened at 11 am..and so we waited and went shopping to other store.i was satisfied with their services, the lady easily went into my needs..but i just can't afford to spend my money on their gowns..if only..

I already knew the dress I wanted when I went in. First one I tried on and I loved it! & I found a veil that matched the dress. The day before the wedding I went to find a head peace or different veil because I was going to be wearing my hair differently, and they were awesome about finding alternative options.

wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses:I have to start by saying, i loved my dress. It was a sale dress and i'm really happy with my choice. However the alterations were more than i paid for the dress. I was recomended to this specific Davids Bridal becuase of the seamstress. She really does an amazing job, but don't get anyone but her, the other lady's really screwed up two of my bridesmaids dresses! Finally the manager came and fixed it. Unfornuetly i can't remember her name, but she is the lead seamstress and is awsome. I felt guily on my alterations, but wasn't to upset, i did get my dress clearance and though all together i still spent less than most..David's bridal is kinda high, but it has everything. My girls went to a few other well known shops, and never liked the styles until davids bridal. I let them choose their own dress, in my colors. They looked great, and were happy with what they bought..i would recomend this to a friend, but i would also say, give other shops a chance too..i still have mixed feelings :/

My dress was so pretty and I got it for a great price. I had a few problems with pricing but they granted to price I was told at the beginning.

I went to the Davids Bridal in Long Beach first, I had a bad experience. I felt rushed, and pressure to get a dress right away.So I tried the Brea store, much better. The sales lady let me try on as many dress as I wanted, it took me two trips to decided and they were very patient. The dress are beautiful and affordable. And if you buy your wedding dress your bridesmaids get $20.00 off there dress.

ALTHOUGH I LOVED MY DRESS I WASNT TOO IMPRESSED WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM DAVIDS BRIDAL ESPECIALLY BY THE MANAGER OF ALTERATIONS ELENA.

When I initially purchased my dress it was a pretty simple experience. Just my mom and I went to the store, and really just to look. We ended up buying that same day because the dress that I loved was on sale. The dress came in quickly and we had to store it at home until it was time to have the alterations done closer to the actual wedding date. This was poor planning on our part because we don't have alot of space at home and hiding the dress from the groom for 5 months got to be tiresome. I had my bridesmaids purchase their dresses there as well and that was a less that amazing experience. The consultant I had worked with 2 months earlier for my dress had since quit. All the notes she had taken seemed to have disappeared. We had an appointment to have my maid of honor and one of my two bridesmaids try on dresses and yet we were put on a wait list for a room, we had rotating help from different sales girls, and we were made to feel far less than important. Apparently once you purchase the bride's gown the help you get lessens quickly. The girls picked out their dresses and one of the sales girls took down all our information for the girls to order at their convenience. Apparently that was all lost too because I started getting calls from a new rep at the store on an almost daily basis. She would call during my work hours so I could not pick up so she would leave these long messages explaining to me that I needed to get my bridesmaids in to try on dresses and pick something. This was confusing since we had already done that. When it came time to have my dress altered I went to the store for an appointment with Elaina, the manager of alterations who will happily remind you of that fact 100 times during your appointment. She was nice and did a good job, but the whole thing was made uncomfortable by the fact that Elaina wanted my mom and I to work out a strange financial arrangement. When I initially made the appointment I was told we would pay that day for alterations. When we spoke to Elaina she told us she wanted us to come back in 4 days and find her in the back of the store and pay her directly because then she could put the transaction in "a different part of the calendar". She kept pushing it and pushing it and told us when we left to tell anyone that asked that we had paid that day. It was very uncomfortable and also inconvenient because my mom had to go back and pay on another day since I had work. When we picked up the dress there was a problem with the hook at the top of the zipper. It was showing from underneath the cover over it. We saw the problem when I tried on the dress, which is something that they didn't want me to do. They had it all packaged up and ready for me to leave without ever putting it on when we arrived. We demanded to try it on. We saw the problem and asked that it be fixed. They told us to wait 25 minutes. We did. They brought the dress back out and handed it to us packaged in the garmet bag and said we could go and it was fixed. I demanded to try it on again. When I did we saw that nothing had been done. It took talking to 4 more employees and waiting an hour and a half to finally have them sew in the hook 0.5 inches further. It was ridiculous. The alterations cost 75% of what the dress did, which was alot, so we weren't going to have something wrong and let it go.I wouldn't use David's Bridal again. I went with a friend that is getting married to Alfred Angelo, which is right down the street, and found them to be much better. We didn't have an appointment and all we wanted to do was look at bridesmaids dresses and we were greeted promptly and treated well.

Great dress for great value. The alterations were crazy expensive though so if you can avoid getting it done there or have a tailor that you trust and will give you a good deal then do that. David's bridal will also call you at least once a month until your wedding to try and sell you bridesmaids dresses so make it clear when you buy your dress if you do not want this to happen. I changed up the style of my dress a bit (took off the bow and added a crystal belt) so my dress ended up being a little more expensive but if you find one you like, I highly recommend David's bridal.
GUEST

I loved my dress! The alterations department is really helpful and goes out of their way to make sure your happy with your dress. The store does tend to get really busy so it's not a very one on one experience when your picking out your dress but it's a great value for the quality of dresses.
GUEST

I felt rushed and like just another number here. My dress was great quality and beautiful but was the wrong size and required a lot of alterations in order to fit correctly.

I had gone to one other bridal boutique before checking out David's Bridal. I am so glad I waited and shopped around. The have the best prices on their bridal gowns! They offered me several styles. The manager kept my mom and man of honor company the whole visit. They offer plenty of mirrors, tons of accessories and very cute shoes. When I watch shows or shop online, I feel as though those women are overpaying. Especially after the great quality and look I had all day and night long. Thank you!!! =)
GUEST

Too expensive and don't bother with alterations there.

I was pleasantly surprised with the service that I received at David's Bridal. I was also surprised that I had a hard time choosing a dress because I liked several! Although it was a sales move, I liked that they brought over several veils, tiaras, etc to try on with the dresses because I never would have tried them on on my own. I ended up with a veil and a sparkly headband (I refuse to call it a tiara) :) and it all went together beautifully!I went back into the store a couple of times after ordering my dress and they were very eager to pull out the sample so that I could look at it. They even offered to help me try it on again, which I thought was pretty cool since they had already made the sale. Another thing that I was skeptical about were the alterations. I was prepared to be up-sold and over-charged. The seamstress really seemed to know her craft. I did end up getting more alterations than I originally thought, but I think they were all worth it! I had the bra sewn in which kept the dress from moving around (it was strapless) and me from having to pull it up constantly, and I had the waist taken in a bit. I couldn't believe how much better it looked! The dress fit well, but she really helped it show of my waist. Lastly, we had a few buttons added for the bustle. When I went to pick up the dress, they were crooked and didn't match the other buttons on the dress. It took 2 more tries, but the seamstress was set on making it match perfectly and by the time she was done, she did and it looked great!Dresses were priced more than reasonable, but accessories and undergarments, etc were pricey.

Kat from davids bridal in brea was so helpful and caring. She attended to all my needs, including my bridesmaids.
GUEST

Great prices but watch for lots of little cost. The tailor there is amazing!!!
GUEST

Davids bridal is great because it is inexpensive....however, the first time I visited this store they were extremely nice and helpful, I didn't have an appointment. the second time I went they weren't nearly as friendly or helpful, actually no one would help us. I'm not sure if it was because they were more busy the second time and I didn't have an appointment but we just left. I did end up buying my dress there because it was inexpensive and I would go back and buy another special occasion dress if needed because it's a great deal.
GUEST

I purchased my wedding dress from the Davids Bridal in Brea and had such a fantastic experience. The sales girl who helped me was so sweet and helpful and helped me find my dream dress. I purchased a beautiful champagne lace gown with a small train and I had so many compliments on my wedding day. The dress was a very high qulity fabric and and looked much more expensive that what I payed for it. I enjoyed the customer service so much at Davids that I went back with my bridesmaids to choose dressed for them.
GUEST

The customer representatives seem to rotate often. Though the value of this place is the quality of the product for the price. The only problem here is that the alterations are expensive, go somewhere else. They also pursuade you to buy a bigger dress because they charger per inch to alter it and you end up paying more. So buy your size, but don't go a bigger. They also tell you that you look good in anything so bring a good friend to tell you the honest truth.

I never wanted to buy my dress at David's Bridal. I went to try on dresses to figure out what type of dress I wanted before venturing out on my own, but accidentally fell in love with a dress while I was there. Of course, it was on sale and was extremely in my price range, so I bought it.The alterations were hectic and traumatizing, but everything turned out well in the end. The crazy head seamstress that works at this location is a whiz with the needle, but is one of the most insane human beings I have ever encountered. Dealing with her makes this almost not worth it.I had to make approximately 3 trips more than I was initially told for fittings and such, which was a pain since it wasn't very close to where I work and they always scheduled me at 4pm so I had to leave work early. I also bought a "poofy" gown, which I had purchased without wanting a petticoat due to it's being so supported already by itself. Somehow, the seamstress convinced me to buy a petticoat, and when I had time later that evening to let that sink in, I was angry (they have a strict no return or exchange policy on undergarments, and this was ~$140). After some pleading, I convinced the manager to let me exchange it for in store merchandise which was better than nothing. I ended up using it to buy my veil, some crappy jewelry (not for the wedding), and some squishy things to stick in my shoes.I was mostly frustrated that every time I went to a fitting, they would tell me that the next time I came back it would be ready and I could take it home. When I would show up, the dress would not be ready and we had to do more fittings without them telling me ahead of time. I missed a lot of work because of this. In addition, she told me to bring someone to train on how to do the bustle, so I brought my sister 3 separate times before she actually had the bustle ready for her to button up. My sister had to rearrange her schedule and drive down from school in LA just to accompany me, and twice for no reason. This was extremely rude on the part of the staff as well as inconsiderate. In the end everything came out ok, but the hastle was extremely terrible.

When I went to the David's Bridal in Brea, I was getting married in 2 1/2 months so time was short to get a wedding dress. I was paired with Dana, who asked me what type of dress I was interested in trying on. Even though I knew the dress best suited for me was v-neck, tank, a-line, I also took her suggestion in trying on a couple of strapless dresses. Even though Dana was working with myself and another bride, she handled herself efficiently and professionally - I did not feel neglected at all! And her suggestions in dresses did look good, I do admit, but even she had to agree that I "knew" which dress best suited me. Together we were able to find "the" perfect dress at the perfect price - $299!I had the alterations done at David's Bridals. I think I could have had them done cheaper elsewhere, but time was certainly a factor for me. Quite a few things needed to be done: raise the shoulders, hem, bustle, modesty piece in the front, and bra sewn in the dress. The end product was absolutely gorgeous and I felt so beautiful! I've received nothing but compliments - and this for a plus-sized gal! I know some folks have problems with David's Bridal, but I didn't experience any of the problems other women have experienced. Luck, perhaps, or the right consultant, I'm not sure. Or maybe just knowing what dress would look good on me from the start. Whatever it was, everything just worked so well for me at this David's Bridal!

I LOVE my dress. I had a fairly easy time of finding the right dress, as a matter of fact the girl helping me suggested i try on one of her picks. That was the right dress. I got a terrific price, my dress and my cake were only about a hundred dollars or so difference. I had a hard time getting a hold of them and was not extremely impressed with the service, but all of my items came in a timely fashion and i got everything that i wanted or needed.

I absolutely loved this David's Bridal! The associates were friendly and helpful. They even called me a week before my wedding to ensure everything was going according to plan. I would definitely recommend this vendor!

I had a nice experience selecting my dress (thank you Cat), however I did NOT receive a call or email to tell me that my dress had arrived (it had to be ordered in ivory). When I finally decided to call to check on the progress of my dress, I was told that I would have to pay for rush fees for the altering because of the time constraints. The manager did not consent to waving the rush fees when I explained that I had not been contacted when the dress arrived and it was not my fault that the alterations had not been scheduled earlier. I had also been sold the wrong size undergarments when I had purchased my dress, but they exchanged this without a problem. Overall, I did love my dress, but this was one of the greatest stresses of the wedding planning and I felt as if they could have handled it differently (instead of blaming me). The cost of the alterations was a LOT higher than expected- over half the cost of my dress... She explained that this was due to the difficulty of the material, multiple layers, and (based on the chiffon) the number of bustles that were "needed". Due to my time constraints I did not feel that I could argue since they were not going to waive the rush fee as it is...The best two things about my experience with this vendor is that David's Bridal offers a credit card that allows you to pay small payments without interest for a year. This alleviated some of the financial stresses of the wedding. Additionally, the manager of the alterations department is absolutely wonderful. Her experience and talent were apparent as she worked and she made me feel very comfortable throughout the fitting.
GUEST

Loved my dress. The girl that helped me had NO idea how to accommodate a plus size bride. She drove me crazy! Finally her manager stepped in when she could see my frustration. The manager was excellent! They also refused to stream my dress since I had it altered elsewhere! I was very upset.....
GUEST

I got a beautiful dress on sale and had al my alterations and pressing done in store. The staff was very friendly and the girl that helped me pick out my dress was great. She was friendly and tried really hard to bring me dresses within my budget price range. They are very busy though and their alteration hours are difficult to make when you work full time. All in all I was very happy with them.
GUEST

I got a great dress exactly the way I wanted it for within my budget! They worked with me every step of the way to tailor my dress exactly the way I wanted it! Even at my last fitting, they noticed something that was a little funny on the dress and insisted on fixing it. I wouldn't have even noticed and I am picky about those kinds of things. They insist on perfect for your wedding day!

My overall experience with Davids Bridal was a good one. For the money, they have excellent options. The sales associate who helped me (Michelle) was amazing. I tried on 6 dresses and found "the one." I ordered it in October 2008 for my September 2009 wedding. They estimated it would arrive at the beginning of January and it arrived a month early, however it had a red stain on the back. We had to order a replacement which came in February. So I was very glad to have ordered it early from the start. The only real negative part of the experience was with alterations. I felt like once I bought the dress, the service level went down. Also, the alterations cost half as much as the dress, so keep that in mind. They wanted me to pick it up 3 days before the wedding but I insisted it be sooner, and I'm glad I did because the fit was wrong and they had to do it over again. All my bridesmaids got their dresses there as well, and one of them did not fit the same as the sample. Overall, I do recommend them for those with a tight budget. Because I bought my dress there, the bridesmaids, mother of bride and grandma of the bride all got $20 off their dresses, we all got 15% off shoes and the groomsmen got $30 off their tux rentals at Mens Warehouse.
GUEST

Some of the staff was helpful and nice but there were others who didn't really seem like they cared to be working there. What upsets me the most about this place was the seamstress. She was very smug and not very flexible when it came to what I wanted. The price of the dress was very reasonable (I got a beautiful lace, fitting dress!), but the price of the tailoring was a rip off. I ended up taking my dress back. If I used the David's Bridal seamstress I would have spent around $600 for the bustle, hemming, and loosening up the sides of the dress. I took it to a non David's Bridal seamstress and only spent $200. I suggest buying a dress from DB because they are really affordable and the quality is good, but I suggest using a different seamstress because it's REALLY expensive at DB.It was nice to receive a phone call when someone's shoes, dress, item delivered was ready to be picked up. It was less stressful on my part b/c I didn't have to call them to inquire about everything.
GUEST

I had a pretty good experience at David's Bridal. In searching for my dress, the staff was very helpful and I found my dress in no time. The value for cost is excellent! When it came time for alterations though, not so much... alterations here are VERY pricey. I would suggest looking elsewhere for alterations. They did a good job on my dress (a couple mess ups though: bra cups needed to be re-done because of "lumpiness" and hem also needed to be fixed because it was crooked). I think I paid about as much if not more for alterations on my dress than what my dress cost ($299 after coupons and promos). Also, the alteration ladies, although nice, didn't speak english very well which made communicating with them difficult. It was very hot in the back where the alteration rooms are so it was hard to be back there for very long. In the end though, my dress came out beautifully and I was very happy with it. The only negatives for me was the cost of alterations, the time it took alterations to get done (it was about a 2 month process with all the corrections), and the fact that the alteration ladies were hard to communicate with.

I did not get my wedding dress here, however I did get my bridesmaids dress's here. They where helpful and it was convenient for all my bridesmaids especially since I had alot that where from out of town. easy to work with, just need alot of time to order in advance.

I went to David's Bridal two times before I found my dress. The first time wasn't as exciting but the second time around was fun and exciting. Asia is very helpful, but I think Vicki (the manager) made it fun and exciting. Vicki was able to look at my body type and to help me find a dress that complimented me well, and she gave me feedbacks that were genuine. The staff were all very enthused when I decided on the dress. I am excited to get my dress. The price was good for the dress, although I thought the accessories were pricey. We'll see if there is anything else to say when I do get my dress. Also, they give you a book of savings for everyone else in your wedding party, which is nice.
My bridesmaids also got their dresses there. We got lucky because the plum color I wanted was going to be discontinued shortly. The dresses complimented my wedding dress well. The color was the exact color I wanted so I was excited. Also, my bridesmaids liked the dress style, so they were happy.
The dresses were on sale, so we couldn't apply the coupon that offered $20 off a bridesmaid dress.
I was also happy that they were able to do an exchange for me. I initially purchased a tiara that was too expensive, but purchased it impulsively. After deciding I couldn't afford the tiara, I called DB and asked what I could they. They offered that I can do an exchange, which worked out because my mother-in-law needed a dress. I appreciated that they were accomodating.
I am getting my dress altered at this store because of my positive experiences, despite other locations being closer. During the alteration fitting, the lady - Maria (?) was doing a sales pitch with me, which was a bit annoying. However, I was firm enough to only sign and agree with what I wanted. The alteration was more costly than I expected, but I don't regret it. I also got their preservation kit. Although I don't plan to keep my dress, I thought the cleaning, and box that comes with it would help keep the dress in good shape so I can sell it. I figured the cleaning cost would be equally priced at a dry cleaners.
UPDATE:
I was very unhappy with the alteration done by Maria Elena (alteration manager). She is very pushy and insisted that I had to move my back panel to make it bigger so my skin is not bunched up. However, I told her I planned on losing weight and toning up. She said that I needed to do it. One week before the wedding, I tried on my dress and was very concerned when my dress did not fit me and was going to fall off my body (its a strapless dress). My bridesmaid began telling me that I needed butt padding, and that I had one week to gain some weight to fit into the dress. It was very disappointing that its her job to know what's right, and she gave me the wrong recommendation. It was one week before the wedding, and I had no time to find someone to alter it for me again, so my only choice was to gain weight, and to tighten up the corset backing.

Got my dress at David's Bridal in Brea. It was a beautiful dress and they did the refreshing "aisle ready" as it was bought off the rack. I would be cautious about doing alterations there as it was not what I expected when I got the finished result. My waistline turned out to be a little wrinkly when the bustle was done. It was not a big deal, but still it wasn't smooth as I wanted it to be.
GUEST

The only alteration that my dress needed was the bustle & to be hemed three inches. Having that done was just as much as my dress was. I did feel more comfortable having the store working on it's own dress; however, I felt it was a bit expensive. Pleased with final result.
GUEST

I loved my dress that I bought here. It also happened to be on sale. The girl who helped me was nice, but inexperienced. I only bought the dress there. I chose not to have my dress altered there. It was a rip off. They wanted 150.00 just to hem the bottom of my dress. That was the minimum price. I ended up just taking it to my well known and trusted tailor since it was a simple job. Saved me 100.00!!! Their selection isn't the greatest either. I found mine in their catalog, not in the store.
GUEST

Very nice and helpful. Give great tips for wedding dress on wedding day!
GUEST

I came in early one afternoon. The store was virtually empty and quiet. There was a woman at the welcome desk who instructed me to take a catalog and pick out some favorite dresses. I talk with another girl to let her know my measurements and such. She walks back with me and points me towards a dressing room to disrobe and put on the proper undergarments for bridal gowns, while she goes off shopping the racks for dresses. In the midst of all of this, it becomes her break time. So another girl picks up and helps me.But while the second is helping me try on dresses (she was really good and found styles I liked), another customer has come in for her appointment. So the girl helping me was forced to go back and forth between the two of us. Many minutes go by, and the original girl who was helping me is now off of her break. The fill-in girl informed her of the styles I was liking as well as the sizes. Original girl picks up and begins helping me.It has been over an hour now and my feet are getting weary of being in wedding shoes for a while and standing on the pedestal in these dresses. Finally, she comes back with a beautiful dress. I was hoping it would look good because the price was certainly better than some of the other dresses I was trying on up to that point. Sure enough, this was the dress. The girl at the sales counter was very friendly and patient with me. I had to make separate purchases and so it was taking a bit longer. I had to special order my dress. I was told it should come in no later than April 21st. The dress arrived sooner and I was able to get the alterations done quickly.

i loved my dress, and i got a discontinued dress anf it cost half the price and fit perfect. and they were able to acomidate me with all my needs on the dress.

David's was an awful experience. They broke the boning of my dress while doing alterations and then had to give me a new one. The new one was two sizes too big and required a huge amount of alterations and never did quite fit right. Despite the fact I purchased my dress 4 months before my wedding, I only got it back the week of my wedding! I was terrified I wouldn't have a dress at all. The alterations were of poor quality and the staff was un friendly and unprofessional after the broke the boning of my $600 dress. The woman doing alterations barely spoke English. I would never recommend anyone go to David's.

They were extremely helpful and fun to work with! Great selection of dresses. I said I wasn't going to leave until I found a dress, and they made it happen!
I'll update my review in October after my dress arrives.

While I read that booking an appointment to find your wedding dress at David's Bridal, especially on a Sunday, is very important, I found that when I showed up for my appointment to try on wedding dresses I was 1) the only person who had an appointment and 2) had to wait my turn anyway while they finished helping out the people ahead of me. Granted, I showed up on a Monday night instead of the famously-busy weekend, but still, why make appointments if you're going to be ignored anyway? I left work early to get to my appointment on time, only having to wait 20 minutes for someone to help me. The girl who finally helped me pick my dress was all smiles and courtesy and said that if my little sister, who was a jr. bridesmaid, grew out of her dress by the time of the wedding, she could easily exchange it for a new size, no questions asked. Also, same for me, in case I lost or gained weight. Three months later (the wedding now only a month away) I show up to see if I can get my wedding dress altered and suddenly everybody could care less about me. The seamstress practically growled at me when she found out I hadn't made an appointment, and was only nice after I made one with her then and there (turns out THOSE are the most important appointments), and then, exchanging my little sister's dress suddenly became a hassle (she had actually lost weight and needed a smaller, not bigger size). And wouldn't you know that even if I wanted to exchange my dress, after three months all the styles had changed and the dress I had chosen was not even available anymore? We got the little sis' dress finally squared away, but I was so insulted by the seamstress I never showed up for my alteration appointment, and instead found a local seamstress who only charged me $80 (as opposed to David's $100+). But otherwise my dress turned out fine, everyone in my party got a discount, and hey, you can't expect high professionalism or customer service when the dresses are cheap, you have to make a compromise. Lesson: you get what you pay fore.

They found me the dress of my dreams! they cleaned it right before the wedding and had it ready in time.
GUEST

they were very pleasant to work with. one thing that bothered me was that they did not tell you that if you got your dress altered by another company, that they would not press it for you for your wedding day. other than that, they were great.

I am not a fan of the sales staff at this store. I had to go back and forth with many of them in the few times I had to visit the store. Fortunately, we did not have any problems with the dresses themselves.
The store did give us a very small percentage off of our dresses but it was too little too late.
GUEST

Great dress sales, I bought my dress at the $99 sale....only to find out the EXPENSIVE alteration prices.

My dress had some minor issues and they fixed them for me with no problems. They were nice and very patient since I tried on like 20 or so dresses.
