I know people don't always have the best reviews and at least its honest. I however; had the best experience ever. The apptment was easy and when i got to the store the staff in the front was so helpful and nice. My consultant Jae was the sweetest girl. I put a bunch of dresses in my favorites and they had it all ready when i got there. I got lucky and my consultant didn't have another bride was completed devoted to me.
we tried on so many styles to get a feel for what i wanted since i was unsure. She was so helpful.
last dress was an Oleg Cassini beaded organza A line and i fell in love. I was so happy. It happen to be on sale from $1150 to $549 i was ecstatic.
they didn't have my size in stock for the petticoat and Jae had it ordered and said they'll email me when it got there.
Took my dress home but they said when i come in for the alterations, they'd fix the beading (a few minor places) and clean and alter it since i need to take it in at the waist and hips. :)
The 2 floor managers today were so awesome, helpful and gave great advise.
Gotta say again despite other people's bad experiences here, i had only minor hiccups. They had an issue with ordering my sash in the wrong color but it worked out very well they exchanged it right away in January. When i came for my first dress fitting a month ago, we found out the petticoat was in the wrong size also, well they took care of it right away in the alterations dept, Christy was super awesome and had it exchanged for me. These things happen and I try not to be overly critical over some of small minor issues because they took care of it right away.
I went in for my 2nd dress fitting (4 wks later, I made sure I made my appointments early to avoid any potential issues) and noticed that my dress was falling about half an inch on top and showing my corset. Christy repinned and asked if i could make i next week i said i couldn't with my work schedule. My wedding is 2 weeks away at the time. Well they called out the little sweet asian seamstress to look it over.
She said that she could take it in the same day today and to come back later in the day. I was so surprised that they would do that for me or for any bride considering how many dresses they must have to alter on a daily basis.
They also said they would press my sash and veil too :)
Sure enough I came back and it fit perfectly I was so happy. I had a hard time understanding the seamstress but she told me, this was the best part of her job making brides happy and seeing them beautiful in their dresses. I can say she pretty much put me to tears!
The front staff are always courteous and same for the alteration dept with...

Love love love my dress! Made a small change to it and it turned out even better than the original!
GUEST

Good price, terrible service. Ordered me the wrong dress twice
GUEST

The dress was beautiful and a good price compared to pricier salons or boutiques, but the alterations cost MORE than the dress! They did not have my size in the dress I was ordering to try on, so the sales girl recommended a size 8 based on my measurements . When the dress came in and I tried it on, it was huge. We had to spend so much in alterations to make it fit. Beware of them ordering you a dress that is too big (they will never order too small becuase you cant let a dress out that much). But undoubtebly, the will order one size too big. If you arent a stress eater, then don't order up. It will cost you small fortune to make the dress fit.
GUEST

first of all my first dress did not fit me at all and it was poor quality and when I tried to return it, they didnt let me. My only option was to get another dress same price or higher. my second dress was awful and poor quality as well. the beads were falling off. I ended up getting a dress from BCBG since the davids bridal dress was not wearable. the consults are rude, the dresses are awful and I would not recommend this place at all.

I gave a 5 star review to quality of service solely because I love my dress, it was amazing and i do not want to say that i was not happy with my dress. But as far as the process goes. I went in to buy my dress in May,my wedding was in november. They told me I may be able to go a size smaller but if i didn't lose 15 lbs by the time for alterations it would be worse letting it out than taking it in. and we couldn't order the dress any later because it would be at least 14-20 weeks to get in. Okay, so we order the dress, bow, and veil. End of june- 4 weeks later i get an email saying an item si ready to pick up- there is my dress, waiting for me! Okay, early is always good, but where do i store this? what if something happens? surely they can do something since they told me it would be at least 10 weeks more than what it was- NO. but they can offer me a garment bag for 10 bucks. so we do that.. then, there was an online appointment scheduling conflict where apparently the alterations dept wasnt aware of my appointment, i'm not sure who's fault taht was but when you are a company that large, you should cover your bases and make sure things dont get screwed up at any point. all in all though, my dress was beatiful and I was happy I went to them because they are the only ones carrying Vera Wang White. I wouldn't have been so happy in any other dress.
GUEST

This David's Bridal is absolutely phenomenal! I had only 4 months to plan my wedding and the manager and all the sales associates made sure I got my Vera Wang dress on time. I had previously visited the David's bridal in Long Beach and they said it was impossible for me to get my dress on time. I went to the one in Costa Mesa and they didn't give me any excuses. My dress actually arrived sooner than expected, they made a bride truly happy.

My first experience here was trying on dresses and it was awesome! I had a very nice consultant. But when we came for bridesmaid/ FG dress shopping we had a much less helpful consultant. The alterations were ok, but the ladies in that department just aren't very big on customer service. So I guess it really depends on who you get so it makes it very hit or miss. Gorgeous dresses for the price though! Overall I'm pretty happy with them.

I bought my dress here. The dress came out great and the price was very good. I spent less than $1500 for my dress, slip and fittings. However, their service was awful and I would never go back there again. You cannot get them on the phone, especially if you are calling alterations. They will transfer you around and around and when you finally get to the operator, she says she will take a message and you will NOT get a call back. I was told the wrong thing over the phone about dyeing my shoes, and it wasted a ton of my time driving there in person to find out it can't be done. They had a lot of dresses there, but they made me wait because every time I went the reps were busy. (I always had an appt) They also didn't help my mom find a dress at all. She bought it elsewhere. Terrible, terrible customer service!
GUEST

David's Bridal kept in touch with me when all the dresses came in for my girls. I was very happy with the style and color of the bridesmaid dresses.

I had a great expirience with this DB location. I went on a Thursday evening which was perfect because there was almost no other customers in the store. My consultant, Marissa, was great in helping me find what I was looking for. I had a typed list of the dresses I wanted to try so she brought me almost each one (I told her to stop after a point because I knew I had already found my dress which was the first one I tried on). She kept all the picks within my budget and made sure I bought the correct size. When I bought my dress, they said it would be February before it would arrive. I ordered the dress at the end of November. Low and behold, I got a call the day after Xmas that the dress was ready to be picked up. It was everything I was looking for and more.
GUEST

I was extremely disappointed when I visited this store to try on wedding gowns. My consultant was not helpful and did not bring out gowns that I specifically requested. More so, after I had described the style and look that I wanted for my wedding day (simple, casual, flowy), she insisted that my dress needed to be more elaborate and fancy and brought me dresses that were the opposite of what I described and would not ever think of even wearing! The manager would chime in as she passed by my dressing room and also insisted that I try on dresses that I did not like. They did not do their job in listening to me at all.
Additionally, my consultant insisted that she needed to help get me in and out of the gowns, but it took her up to a half hour at a time to return to my dressing room after each dress. I eventually had my sister sneak into my dressing room to help because we were running late for another appointment since we kept waiting on the consultant.
Otherwise, the dresses were beautiful and are a great value. I recommend purchasing a gown at David's Bridal if you are on a tight budget. However, I suggest going to a different store for better service. I found my wedding gown at this store, but I ended up purchasing it at the store in Orange because I did not want to work with the Costa Mesa staff any longer.

Got wedding dress at excellent price. Beautful headpiece. Lots of compliments!
GUEST

This David's Bridal in Costa Mesa (South Coast Plaza area) is horrible in every way. They do not know what a "train" is for in a wedding gown. Plus, they do not care about your paid dress enough to properly zip it in the garment bag without getting the dress caught in the zipper! The workers or sales representatives have absolutely NO SENSE of customer service and the managment literally prefers you to shut up, buy a dress, and leave. I seriously do not recommend anyone to buy from this store or have to suffer their ill and stupified treatments. Do not go here in preparing the most important day of your life.
GUEST

I tried on about 6 wedding dresses, fell in love with the 3rd dress that I tried on and received about 1 million compliments on my wedding dress the "day of". It was a really tough decision between two dresses but the sales associate really helped me choose the "one". http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Lace-Over-Charmeuse-Gown-with-Beaded-Floral-Detail-SWG400_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Designer-Galina-Signature The bridesmaids dresses were stunning and looked good on all 6 of my bridesmaids! http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Charmeuse-Dress-with-Ruched-Waist-and-Pocket-83707_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-All-Bridesmaid-Dresses. And the best part was my wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses were on sale!!
GUEST

I loved all my wedding party dresses, and I think David's has such a great system for picking styles and colors, but somehow their ordering and delivering system could use some work. It seemed harder than it should have been. At one point it cost me an extra trip to pick up shoes that weren't dry (from dye) yet.
Not a big deal, and everyone looked great, but occasionally frustrating.

The whole wedding process has been so much fun and really exciting thanks to my fiance, my parents and my wonderful MOH. I just can't wait for the day when we say I do, it is going to be a lot of fun. however If I can give any advice it would be avoid David's Bridal.
I should have listened to the reviews on this page before going to DB. I was in a time crunch because I was moving out of state and DB is everywhere. It seemed convenient for my out of town bridesmaids and myself. Something to note is that although I moved to WA, the wedding is in CA.
When I read all the reviews I just chalked it up to bridezillas. I truly didn't think this place could be that bad. After the process of shopping for my Wedding dress I would have given DB a rating of 3 stars. Their service was not bad, but not great either.
Here is why I knocked them down to 1 star. I ordered my Wedding Dress in December. Then January 25th I had a missed call and voicemail saying, "Jennifer your dress has come in please call us back to schedule your alterations appointment." I called them back, my dress seemed to come so quickly that I questioned if they really had my wedding dress and they reassured me "yes, your wedding dress is in." I told them I live in WA and the soonest I could be in CA is in March. So we made the appointment for MARCH 12th.
Essentially, I bought a plane ticket to fly to CA just for this fitting. I showed up March 12th and they said "we don't have your dress." Then they told me they never called me. I didn't notice at the time but I still had the voicemail on my iPhone from when they called me Jan 25th. They kept telling "I don't know how you got the impression your dress was in." I said "because you called and said it was in." They said that in their computer system there was no record of them calling me. To me it sounds like a flaw in their computer system. They asked if the call was for one of the bridesmaid dresses. Nearly all of my bridesmaids didn't even order their dresses until the end of January. The one that did order in December already had her dress the first week of January.
I felt like they were going out of their way to make me feel stupid. I wouldn't buy a plane ticket and fly down for my wedding dress fitting for no reason. I called and talked to someone January 25th and they told me my dress was there and ready for pick-up.
One of the store managers said she would look into it and after 30 minutes of waiting she never returned to say anything. Then we found another lady and she said "I thought the manager already told you your dress isn't here."
I understood the dress wasn't there but it would have been nice if someone let me know where it was and how they were going to get it to me since I don't live in CA and I can't just drive over when ever it did show up. I needed to get the dress shipped to WA so we could do a fitting and get it altered and sent back to CA for the wedding.
I wasn't angry as much as I was sad. I was looking forward to this day since they called in January. My mom was pissed, so I let her be Mom-zilla. I was just really disappointed, trying not to cry. On the bright side I got to see my family that weekend. I hadn't seen them since December, so the trip wasn't a complete loss. I missed them a lot.

Unethical.
I visited this location with my family and was ready to purchase $1000 worth of dresses.
After much discussion and questioning the final prices for the dresses with the given "need by date", we were ready to ring up the order. The consultant then revealed that the dresses would require a $20 rush fee PER DRESS due to the date. The manager stated that rush fees are not disclosed upfront. This is unethical practice as brides and bridesmaids and anyone looking at these dresses fall in love with the "perfect dress", then are pressed into paying a rush fee because it won't make it in time. This store plays on the emotion of the customer and manipulates the customer into paying an additional $20 PER DRESS in order to get the dress "in time". But to top it off, we had constantly asked the consultant if the different dresses would get here by this date and that it would cost us only the price of the tag, which the consultant confirmed.
A different David's Bridal did not require the rush fee for my order and I went ahead and place it with that store instead.

I found my wedding dress at David's Bridal in Costa Mesa. The service was great and the girls helping me made me feel amazing. The first dress I tried on was The One and the price was very reasonable.
GUEST

My dress was beautiful and for the amount of beading that was on my dress it should have cost a great deal more. The service was okay, but not great. I went into one of the Long Beach stores before coming here and the sales lady there was extremely rude to me. As a result despite the fact that the individuals here were not that attendant they were at least nice to me. It was helpful that my maid of honor came in with me to try on dresses so she helped me in and out of dresses so that I did not need to rely on their sales people to help me.
GUEST

I had to work with 4 different consultants each time I made an appointment, but the price was unbeatable. I was happy with my wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses despite the issues I faced with their service level and lack of knowledge/training for the consultants. The ladies in the alterations department were very nice. I would recommend this place only as a last resort for the bride with a tight budget.
GUEST

I loved the service I got at davids bridal and their dresses are the most gorgeous dresses you can get for such amazing prices, I felt like an absolute princess in my gown on my day. I still even go there to get nice dresses for small occasions. It's nice what discounts you get when you buy your dress there, I got discounts on my bridesmaids dresses that were so gorgeous as well as simpler nice dresses that I bought a few of for my engagement party, bridal shower and rehearsal dinner. They still remember me when I go in there, they made it such a fun experience and I would recommend them to every bride.

I bought my entire attire there and from start to finish, they took good care of me!
GUEST

I bought my dream dress at the Costa Measa location but wished I wouldve bought it elsewhere. The service was horrible, the salesgirl tried to sell me dresses that she wanted me in, and didnt listen to what I wanted and wouldnt even bring me the dresses that I had on my list. I believe that the salesgirl sold me a dress a size too big so that I would have to spend the extra money on alterations. I was VERY dissatisfied with the service I got at this location.
GUEST

Got my dress 5 days before my wedding due to some unforseen events with another dress. I had to buy off the rack. They didn't have any undergarments that were the right size, but we made it work (we had to).
The thing I don't like about David's Bridal, is that for every dress I put on, the sales gals would circle around me and say how beautiful I looked and how the dress looked good on me. I'm all for compliments, but it really just seemed like they were pushing the sale and would tell me anything to get me to buy a dress, any dress. One gal started crying at how good I looked (I was impressed) -- this would have been more believable, except I had gone into David's almost a year before to check out dresses, and she did the same thing then. (She's one of the managers there).
Overall, a decent experience and a good place to go for a (very) last minute dress.

David’s Bridal can be very cookie cutter, but if you take the time to look, you can find some unique wedding dresses. Their service is not bad, depending on which consultant you get, they can be pretty helpful. However, their alteration department was not professional. They called me the night before I was supposed to pick up my dress from alterations to ask if I can come another day because they were behind. (I had brought my dress in a month before and they waited to call me the night before—after hours)!

I originally bought my dress off the clearance rack in Minneapolis two years before the wedding. As the wedding got closer I wasn't sure if that was the right dress for me. Knowing that all sales are final at DB's I was prepared to sell the dress on Ebay if I found another. I went to DB's in CM and found another dress!! It was a little more expensive than the dress I originally had but it made me feel sexy and elegant all at the same time. I went up to the counter to pay for the dress and to my surprise they took my old dress, credited me the full amount I paid for it and then charged me the difference! Megan (skinny blonde girl) helped me several times when I came into the shop. She was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend asking for her directly if you are going to that store to look for a dress. The store is clean and as you would imagine any DB store. There is a DSW located down stairs so check that out before you buy any shoes from DBs :)

I ended up purchasing everything from David's Bridal in Costa Mesa - From my wedding dress to the bridesmaids' dresses... it was just easier that way. I even purchased my garter, veil, and clutch there as well. Because it's such a big store, it's easy to get lost in the shuffle, but you just have to make sure that the person working with you has your best interest at heart. I was a little timid at first and didn't speak up, which ended up in me having to exchange for a smaller size and whatnot. I suggest knowing what you want and speaking up. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Overall, I was really happy with the style and fit of my dress and felt beautiful in it. I didn't expect to find my dress at David's Bridal but fell in love with a dress and it happened to be within my budget. When shopping for my dress, the associate was very helpful eventhough she had 2 other customers to work with at the same time. The only problem I had with David's bridal is that the associate did not measure me before ordering the dress and ordered the wrong size. I expected to have to pay for some alterations & bustling but did not expect that it would cost almost the same price as the dress itself. Unfortunately, I had to pay an additional fee to have it altered to fit since it was ordered in a size too big. I normally wear a size 1 and am fairly petite. I was told by the associate that I would wear a size 2 and I, of course, trusted her judgment and professional opinion. If I would have known the dress came in a petite size 2, I would have asked the associate to order a petite instead. I did not find this out until later when looking at the dress on the website. I did have to come back for 2 additional fittings for the alteration department to get the fit right. It did look stunning on the day of my wedding though.
My advice for you: Make sure the associate takes your measurements before ordering your dress.

I had the best experience here I thought it might be different because its such a big chain that I might not get the most attention so not true! They could not have been better!
GUEST

They weren't too busy when I went in and I had a coupon. I received very personal attention and everyone in the store was friendly. I also had my alterations done here and they did a wonderful job. They too were friendly and professional.
GUEST

We spent almost a half hour waiting after our appointment for someone to help us. The lady that did help me find my dress was so great. I wasn't sure if it was THE dress so she offered to hold it until later in the day. When I came back she was so excited. She started crying before I did. My wedding dress looked great on me, almost like it was made to fit perfectly!
GUEST

David's Bridal has beautiful wedding/bridesmaid dresses at a great value! I LOVED my dress and paid under $500 for it!! However, their service needs help!! After our first visit we had input all the birdesmaids names into the computer and the dresses we liked, on the next visit they had NOTHING!! This continued on, until we finally ordered them!! They were just a complete headache to deal with and their alterations service is WAY too expensive, and you pay THAT day, not AFTER the service, like most places. Again great dresses for the price, not so great service.
GUEST

The Costa Mesa David's Bridal is AMAZING. The sales manager that helped me pick out my dress remembered me every time I came in and was excited to see me. I even needed to exchange my dress because I had lost so many inches (yay!) and she was happy to do it! No lectures, no feeling like this was a favor - just happy to be able to help. The only complaint I have is about the alterations staff being somewhat hard to communicate with, but they're not sales people. Plus with the amazing customer service by the women on the floor, I'm sure I had set the bar pretty high by the time I was meeting with them.
GUEST

This David's Bridal was amazing! I didn't even get my dress from this location (that location was NOT good) so I made an appointment for my fittings at the Costa Mesa location. I'm so glad I did! They were incredibly sweet and professional and gave me many options on fitting and additions (such as head pieces, veils, my bussel etc.) Even when I needed to com back for the final fitting the alterations team were very accommodating and knowledgeable about my situation. Go to this location if you want a great experience- they know what they're doing!
GUEST

I was looking for shoes for my dress and found some sandals at the store. When they didn't have my size in stock, the salesperson was more than glad to order them for me. The only pair they had in stock was the display model. I also found a chiffon wrap to wear over my shoulders which made my dress look even more elegant. Great prices, but just know that you can't make any returns/get refunds. Remember this if you're thinking about getting Assets. I have a $20 pair that I'm never going to use.
GUEST

They were very friendly and my dress was beautiful.

Whenever I was a bridesmaid, I always hated being forced to wear the same dress, shoes and jewelry as the other girls. I want to be able to express my own style. So when I was planning my wedding, I refused to impose the cookie-cutter approach on my friends.
I went to David's Bridal with my mom, picked out six different styles in apple green, had them posted online and let my four 'maids each choose the style they liked best. They each wore silver sandals, jewelry and hairstyles in the styles of their choice. The effect was sophisticated yet relaxed, and their fuschia bouquets stood out beautifully against their dresses.
The customer service in Costa Mesa was non-existent -- I hunted for sizes and struggled in and out of each dress on my own. But it seemed the easiest option for choosing dresses of various styles in the same color.
The prices ranged from $135 - $155. While totally overpriced for the dresses themselves, they were at the low end for the wedding world. I was happy to have my friends show off their unique personalities on my wedding day.

Even though my 1st experience with this particular David's Bridal store wasn't the best, I still found my dream dress. Because my maid-of-honor and I looked young and petite, the sales associates there did not seem to take us very seriously. After a bit of warming up, we were able to proceed with this dress search.
I had done a lot of research on which dress style I wanted, but I ended up finding the perfect one at David's for way cheaper than designer dresses! Why pay more when they had my dream dress for less?! My wedding dress looked haute couture! I know it sounds crazy, but I bought the first dress I tried on. I literally had a WOW moment. I did try on a few more afterwards, but they didn't amount to that same feeling. They didn't have my size there at the time, but I was able to get it pretty fast through ordering at the store. I was very pleased with their in-store alterations department. They tailored my dress to fit me like a glove - amazing! Everyone at my wedding kept asking me where I bought my dress, like it was from some fancy designer!
My bridesmaids purchased their dresses from David's as well. Those dresses turned out to flatter every shape and size!
If I could, I'd give separate ratings. For my dress and my bridesmaids' dresses, I'd rate them 5 stars. For the customer service at this particular store, I'd give them 3 stars.

I was working on a budget so I didn't have many options. I went here for the $99 sale and although that selection was VERY limited, you really can't beat their cost and selection. I ended up buying a $1000 dress that was on sale for $700 and I was so happy with it. Their staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Their alterations department is a bit pricey so I went with someone else but overall, I would highly recommend them. Go to the South Coast location - they have the best selection in the Orange Coutny area!
GUEST

They have a great selection of bridesmaid dresses and at good prices. Their alterations department is very slow and even if you have an appointment you may have to wait.

I had one of the worst experiences with David's Bridal. After selecting a few dresses out of their magazine, the lady took me to try them on, she asked if I needed shoes and I said yes, so she left to get them. I was waiting and waiting, them my mom knocks and asks if I need help. I tell her I was waiting for shoes and the lady to come back. That's when my mom points out that the lady had thrown the shoes outside the closed door (that I couldn't see) and left to help another girl. So that's when my mom stepped in to help. Pretty much, the whole time I was there, I got little if any input from the sales lady and the only help she gave was pulling the dresses off the rack and bringing them to me. And, not only was my mom the one helping me into and out of dresses, but David's Bridal went and sold my information to some non-legit businesses (scammers) that would not stop calling me. I put my number on the do not call list, and still get random calls from Georgia etc.
My dress was beautiful and very inexpensive, I will give them that, but if I had known about all the trouble they would cause me, I would have never walked into the store. The worst part about my experience was my dress was ordered in October 08 and I was told that I would receive a call when it was in and they wrote the expected date was January 2nd. Weeks went by without any calls... I only remembered to call because my mom asked me about the status of my dress. So its almost February and I call and am put on hold.. then they tell me, oh your dress has been here for 2 weeks. Why didn't they bother calling me when they said they would!?! Horrible service. When I went to pick it up, I was asked if I would like to try it on, I did. So they took me to try it on and just forgot about me. No help whatsoever.
If you can avoid this place, I would highly recommend it. I went to a small boutique for my bridesmaid dresses. There was no way I was going to put them through anything with this company!

I had a great Sales lady, Barbra who was very attentive to my needs. I had a funny story about my dress, the first time i went in i bought a dress and when i went home and put it on i HATED it! I went back and she was MORE then helpful making sure i was happy since it was my big day and i ended up with the dress of my dreams.
I had 5 Brides Maids of all sizes and ages and she helped us find a dress that was flattering on all the girls and was in out budget. She went out of her way to help me out every time i came in!
If you go back David's Bridal in South Coast i would Highly recommend seeing Barbra! (tell her i sent you and she will take good care of ya!)

To echo the other reviews: most of the dresses aren't that nice. The service is spotty and generally bad. And any situation in which you are in close proximity to a lot of stressed out brides is likely to be uncomfortable and weird.
However, this is also where I found "the one." An Oleg Cassini, it was discounted several hundred dollars during one of their big sales, plus another 50 by our very friendly and very competent salesgirl. It also fit perfectly and needed no hemming (if I wore the right shoes), which was more money saved. After shopping around for a few days I came back to Davids Bridal and bought it. A lot of the good aspects of my experience were due to luck, but it was a good experience nonetheless. My dress was perfect for me and I got a lot of compliments about it at the wedding.
So even though you shouldn't expect have a stellar experience here, you might be doing yourself a disservice if you don't at least stop by. Especially if you are on a budget.

Absolutely loved my wedding dress! It wasn't outrageously priced. It was ready in time for the wedding and fit perfectly! The alterations department did a great job and were very quick. I also found all of my bridesmaids dresses, junior bridesmaids, and flower girl dresses here. Great color and style selections. They also have shoes, garters, flower girl baskets, and everything else you can think of. Overall, they did a really good job!

Okay, I first off have to start by saying that I have mixed opinions about david's bridal, and it completely depends on the location where you shop. My first experience was with my cousin, when she went shopping for her wedding dress in Rancho Cucamonga. She had the undivided attention of her consultant, and found the dress of her dreams, in her first trip! So after her great experience, I decided to start my dress shopping there as well. David's bridal offers a lot of advantages, the biggest being they actually carry most dresses in most sizes....so you can actually try on a dress that is your size, and it's not simply clipped. I feel like when they clip dresses...they do not always clip to accurately represent how the shape of the actual dress will be. So I loved being able to try on dresses in as close to my size as possible. HOwever, when I first went dress shopping in Costa Mesa at South Coast Plaza (with an appointment), I did not have the service my cousin experienced. My bridesmaids ended up pulling dresses for me, helping me into them, and clipping them, because my attendant dissappeared for minutes at a time (like 10-20 minutes). I found a dress I really liked, but I wasn't hesitant of buying because of the service. I was worried that it would not be the right size, shape etc etc etc. I ended up going to another david's bridal location to try on "the dress" again, and the service was completely opposite (Long Beach location). The attendant was so sweet, and I finally felt comfortable in my decison. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED my dress....however the attendants judgment on sizing was not right. I knew that I needed a smaller size, and she was convicing me of a larger size...thank god I went wit my judgement and not hers. My judgment for size was STILL too big on me...her choice of size would have literally fallen off me.
Overall, I would say the custmer service is bad, but if you find the dress you think is the one there...go with it! I loved my dress, and my guests could not stop telling me how amazing it was. ( I went with an Oleg Cassini dress, and the quality and the look was top notch, I can't vouch for the standard david's bridal dresses).
OH and my dress came in way ahead of schedule ( as did my bridesmaid dress that I wore in my cousin's wedding). However, I am sure this depends on the availability of the specific dress.

Alright, so there are varying reviews from brides about DB... I think that if you go into DB remembering that it is a retail, chain store that is not a private, small chic boutique, then you will be ok and not disappointed. I got my wedding dress here and they were actually flexible with me exchanging the same dress for a smaller size when I lost weight and didn't want extra alterations. I also got my bridesmaid dreses from here where they were ordered and arrived within a few weeks. I must admit that sometimes it would have been nice to get their undivided attention instead of having one salesperson take care of me and two other brides, I got what I paid for. I bought a $500 dress and was able to sell the dress, veil and bustier afterwards. Good luck!

Well, this is the only vendor that I used that wasnt local. They are basically a chain, and beware! When you go into the store, THEY WORK ON COMMSSION! So, either be very blunt, or be prepared to buy something. They will try to sell you everything under the sun, including corsete bra things that you actually may or may not need. I reccomend that you do your homework on what exactly you wany to buy before you go in there!

My sister went to this David's Bridal when she got married 6 years ago, so I went there as well for sentimental value. I was able to find my dress in a matter of hours (and my guests & husband LOVED my dress!!). However, after that first day there and finding my wedding dress, the service dwindled. I went back with my bridesmaids a couple months later so they could pick out their dresses. After we ordered those, we never got phone calls when our items were ready for pickup so we had to just guess when they were ready, they dyed the wrong TYPE of shoe (not the shoe we had chosen and paid for) so we had to reorder, then the shoes were dyed wrong (they just looked awful!) so we had to have them dyed again, I was put on hold for 30 min. each time I had to call to inquire about our order and called "Sweetheart" the entire time by some teenager, and finally gathered everything we had ordered MONTHS after it was originally purchased. Eventually, it all turned out well and my guests loved the colors, dresses, shoes, etc. but the process was a nightmare! If they can smooth out their customer service skills, then I would recommend it for their options and great prices.

The attendants were so helpful. I wanted a tea length dress and there weren't many to choose from, but I finally found what I was looking for.

First of all, let me just say that most reviews I've read of David's Bridal anywhere were horrible, so I am surprised that all this happened.
I'm a bride who has a one-track mind when it comes to long-term planning, so my bridesmaids had their dresses picked out in June (my wedding is in January 2009). I have 4 bridesmaids, and they all have 4 very different figures. I wanted them to pick their own style of dresses, but somehow they all decided on the same dress. Our consultant, Giselle, looked up the sizes in the correct color for us and found out the style was discontinued. Of course, we were all bummed, especially after Giselle did everything in her power to find the sizes in any color available. We went with the second choice dress.
Fast forward about 3 weeks later. I was browsing around on davidsbridal.com randomly one night and decided to look at bridesmaids dresses for my mom (she's really tiny so I was checking all her options). Lo and behold, the discontinued dress was online! I thought it was a fluke, but when I actually clicked on it, the dresses (sizes and colors) were in stock! Ohhh I was annoyed and so were my girls!
I stopped by the store on a Tuesday after work, fully expecting to turn into a bridezilla. Fortunately, the lady I spoke to, Tania, was actually the store manager. She explained that she could not do anything on a store level because the physical store and the online store are essentially two different companies. She gave me the number to the customer service line and also the name of the gal who manages the stores in the area, Allison.
On Wednesday, I spoke to someone in the online department and she was very helpful. She forwarded my message to Allison and Allison contacted me directly about the situation. Later that day, she called me back to inform me that they WERE going to do the exchange! I was so freakin' happy, I started dancing around my office! I was totally fine about doing an even exchange, even though the new dresses were about $30 less than the first one we bought, but Allison said they would credit back the difference so we could get alterations and shoes and whatnot.
Later that night, a rep from the Costa Mesa store called me to follow up on the details Allison and I had talked about regarding the exchange. It was official on a corporate and store level! I appreciated the very detailed follow up, which included when the new dresses were expected to arrive. Instead of making two trips down there (one to return and another to pick up, which was not a problem at all), she said I could just wait until they called me to pick up the new dresses and do everything at once.
I feel bad for the brides who have had bad customer service from David's Bridal, particularly the Costa Mesa one, but I am SOOO glad to have worked with Giselle, Tania, and Allison!

I walked into the store with a list of gowns and had two women helping me try stuff on (I went alone.) They even helped me by taking pictures of me in the dresses with my camera. When I found THE ONE, it was an easy purchase and it was on sale. I love the dress and the process was painless. I walked out with it same day.
I had it bustled and they went ahead and pressed it as well, which saved me from making another appointment. Great experience.
GUEST

I loved my dress but it seemed like they where in my pocket the whole process. I started off with a $400.00 dress that in the end cost me twice that much. They are a money pit... If youÂ’re on a budget stay away
GUEST

I loved my dress and the original person who helped me the day I picked out my dress. All other visits to this David's bridal were horrible. Everyone in the store was unorganized and rude. When I went in to look for bridesmaids dresses I set up an appointment so there would be someone availble to help put on the dresses etc. I had almost no help from anyone at the store since they overbooked themselves (this happened twice). They also gave me the wrong date for when my alterations were done and I drove 20 mins out of my way only to turn back around. They did not order my vail after I purchased it so it had to be to rush order so it would make it in time for my wedding. When I called to check on the status of the vail the women on the line was rude to me... Standing in line at their register is the worst...I guess you get what you pay for...
GUEST

Outstanding in every way!
Professional, responsive, no pressure.
Helpful and not in the least in a rush. Our consultant Gisel was a jewel!
GUEST

I Loved the dress I got there!! I got the dress, veil, shoes, corset for under $1000.They did a lot for me, however when it came to my bridesmaids they forgot all about us. WE had made an appointment for a later date, got there and they totally ignored us! Finally 2 hours later, we left!! I had about 6 girls with me, BIG mistake! They Lost alot of business with us...

David's Bridal made dress shopping easy; I bought it online and they altered and preserved it perfectly! I even found matching shoes and purse at David's Bridal.
GUEST

I got an AWESOME prior season dress and saved a bundle! I highly recommend!!!

Other than our first visit to David's Bridal, they were great. We were just a little surprised to need an appointment at a major bridal chain. Anyhow the bridesmaid dresses and the flower girl's dress came from here. They came in earlier than we were told too, which was a nice surprise.
GUEST

Some people have problems with David's Bridal, but my experience was very positive. The dress was gorgeous and they were always very nice and helpful (although it can get very crowded).
GUEST

I bought my wedding dress here. It's best to try on dresses during a weekday when there aren't that many people there. There was only one other girl there when I shopped in December and I had 3 people helping me. It was great not having to deal with a crowd, because I heard it could get crazy here. The only thing I am skeptical about is the size of the dress they ordered for me. I spent $500 on the dress, which was a size 2 petite, but they suggested I buy a size 4 petite. So, I did, upon their recommendation, and wound up spending an additional $500 on alterations which probably weren't necessary. I think that's how they get you, so be careful.

The girls there were awesome I was so happy with my dress thanks Girls

I purchased my favors from Davids Bridal online, they were unique and beautiful

Great one stop shop. The women at the very front were rude and made us feel unwelcome. The manager was nice and helpful. The did have some problems with our shoes but it worked out in my favor.

dress was close enough to my match and price was decent.

David's Bridal lacks good customer service. Already knowing what I wanted for the bridesmaids when I walked in, it shouldn't have been difficult to get in and out quickly. However, I ended up pulling each dress we needed, getting new sizes, and lining the girls up to order because our attendant "had to go on break". Of course, she still got commission on the sale even though she did nothing. They ended up losing one of the bridesmaid's orders and making her come back in to find the right size and style (since she hadn't written anything down at the first fitting). It was a constant nightmare.
If you can avoid them and still find reasonably priced dresses, DO IT. I was so fed up with them regarding the bridesmaids' dresses, that they lost my dress sale because I was determined not to go back into the store. On top of that, they kept calling me even after I told them I was going elsewhere for my dress. The dresses looked amazing, however, and were exactly what the girls wanted.

I found a great dress for a reasonable price at David's Bridal. They have an extensive selection of many styles. The alteration department did an excellent job on my dress also. And my bridesmaids found their dresses there also.
GUEST

David's Bridal experience was 50/50. I found a dress. I loved it, but the service that I got there was kind of WHACK!
GUEST

bad alteration my bead came off and uneven bottom.
GUEST

I found the perfect dress but then I waited a week to be 100% sure. By that time it had been sold. The only other one was in a different state. They went above and beyonf getting this dress to me in pristine condition. I was elated!
GUEST

The woman who was supposed to help me find my wedding dress was late for the appointment, rude, unhelpful, and did not listen to my dress preferences. She had scheduled two appointments at my time, and was more solicitous to the other woman, ignoring me.
GUEST

I got my bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal and they all arrived on time and were the correct dress - some girls ha to have them altered slightly but overall they were a huge success and looked just like a BCBG design I wanted - for a much better price!
GUEST

This Davids Bridal worked with me. I was getting married in Chicago, but i was living in California. They shipped my dress, shoes, slip,my flower girl dress shoes for me back to Chicago. They also worked really hard to get my flower girls shoes on time for my wedding.
GUEST

If I had to do it over again I would probably go find a dress at a boutique to have a more intimate experience.
GUEST

I got my corset and clutch, and likely some other accessories here. It was a really good value, though I would think twice before getting a wedding gown there (just because the quality of the items isn't great.) I didn't like that there weren't mirrors in the individual dressing rooms, which meant having to look at myself in a corset out in the open area. But I wouldn't hesitate to go back to them for accessories (in fact, I did go back to get yet another corset when I was a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding.)
GUEST

Since we were getting married within 3 months of the engagement dress shopping as gonna be an interesting challenge. The dress I had picked out in the catalog was not available in my size on the rack so it would need to be ordered. Time was against me, so I gave up shopping at other bridal shops and headed over to David's Bridal. I am not small, but I am very particular about what I wear so the challenge was on! The store is always busy but as long as you had an appointment the staff was more than helpful.
I wasn't there very long before I found "THE ONE", perfect dress! The fittings went well and quickly too.
I didn't have a problem at all, and would recommend them. The dress I found was from there high end line and I love it! I felt like a princess in it!
GUEST

Good value for the money you spent.

Davd's Bridal is a great place to get your wedding dress and bridesmaid's dresses if you're on a budget. You won't get the attention you'd get at an upscale boutique, but you can get a beautiful dress for a good price. I would recommend getting your alterations done elsewhere if cost is an issue.
Great Service and vast collection of dresses and accessories. Ask for Valerie ( or anyone else) They are friendly and go out of their way to make your event special.
