David's Bridal (Northridge)--Final Grade: B
I was originally really pleased with the service at David's Bridal, but one incident lead me to drop their grade. The associate who helped me pick my dress was extreamly helpful and outgoing. My dress arrived in a timely manner and all alterations/cleaning were done as promised. The one problem I encountered was David's Bridal discontinued the dress I had originally chosen for my Junior Bridesmaid. They did not contact me or the mother of my JBM to let us know. We only found out two weeks before the wedding when my JBM went to get measured for her dress. They were able to get her a dress to match the other bridesmaids in that short time, but it still would have been nice to have been given some sort of notice. Other than that snafu, I was generally pleased. I got my entire ensemble there: dress, veil, shoes, plus the BM dresses.
I purchased a BM's dress for my daughter from the Redondo Beach David's Bridal and had alterations done at the Northridge store. Overall I would say we were in and out when they took her measurements. When we went back for her fitting we were in and out. (everything was done by appointment) I was totally satified!
David's Bridal Northridge (Across from Northridge Mall) Grade B
I went to my David's Bridal appointment and when I went in it was very clean and cool (Hot day). I had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to attend to me. Then when I finally got attended to, I had to wait another 5 mins for her to get off the phone, mind you that there are other sales persons there. Once she finished with the phone, another sales person attended me. She was a doll. I told her that I didn't know exactly what I wanted so she brought me everything in my size. She wasn't pushy or impatient. Even though I didn't get my dress there (I bought a Maggie Sottero) she marked all the dress I tried on in the catolgue book. I do recommend going to this David's Bridal.

Horrible customer service! I could never recommend the David's Bridal in Northridge. I went with my bridesmaids to try on wedding gowns. I told the woman helping me exactly what dresses I liked and wanted to try on. She didn't listen to me at all. She brought me mermaid gowns and I told her that I liked ball gowns. She was very rude and did not seem like she even cared if I was there. She even asked me if I was happy to be getting married!
A few months later, my bridesmaids found dresses they loved so they were sized and a consultant wrote down their information. Unfortunately, one of my bridesmaids could not make it that day, so a week later I went with her to get sized at David's Bridal. When we got to the store, they lost my other bridesmaids' sizes and did not apologize. They kept saying, "Don't worry". In a week they lost the information! This store is so unprofessional!
I'm not the only one with problems with this store. A friend of mine got married in October and one of her bridesmaids was a size 2 and her dress came in a size 12! This was less than a week before her wedding! Talk about getting stressed. Another friend had her dress altered and they made it too small! Also, she had her shoes dyed red and it turned out horrible. Avoid this store!
I went to the Northridge location and had a fabulous sales consultant named Barbara. She was patient, listened to what I liked and disliked and found an incredible dress which I purchased the same day.
The only negative thing I need to say is that they completely miscalculated the timing of arrival of my dress, and now I need to find somewhere to store the dress until I begin the fittings.
So, just be careful on how long they tell you it will take for your dress to arrive if you are lacking somewhere to store your dress.
UPDATE:
I picked up my dress (finally) about a week ago after it arrived many months earlier than expected.
It was in a bag with my garmet bag and undergarmets...safe and sound. The salespeople who were on shift could not have been nicer and more helpful.
My experience at the Northridge store has been nothing but quite satisfying. I will be going on March 6 for my first fitting so we'll see how it goes. :D
I went to three David's Bridals to try on my dress for various family (one out of state). They were extremely helpful at all of them and had no trouble finding my info - I ended up ordering my dress from Northridge with Georgina. It was a special order and came about 2 months earlier than they had quoted me. (which is great, but I had to find somewhere to store it!)
