David's Bridal (Schaumburg, IL)

I came here, past the horror stories that are always told...
At first, my BFF and I were having a blast pulling out wedding dresses for me to wear. My bridal consultant was great... At first....
After many different style gowns, nothing was screaming as "the one"... Although very beautiful and comfortable on... My bridal consultant seemed to be loosing patience with me (as she was working with another bride next to me too, and that bride wasn't her #1 fan either), and told me that I need to stick with one style, and not all... Which offset me a little... Isn't that the point? When you don't know what you want, you try a little of everything?
Anyway, my bridal consultant failed to bring ALL my gowns back until much later in the appointment... One of my first gowns I pulled off the rack was one of the last, and happened to be "the one"!! I shared that moment when my BFF and I were almost in tears... After much diliberation, I thought I could fit into a smaller size. I told my bridal consultant that I would like to try this gown on in a smaller size... And she had the nerve to tell me that I wouldn't be able to fit into it!! As one of the managers were walking by, I asked for her opinion, and she took the sides of the dress to see how much room I had, and said that I should DEFINITELY get a smaller size, and she went off to look for the smaller size.
After my bridal consultant found out, she came back screaming at me... Luckily though, the manager came back with a very similiar gown, as they didn't have mine in a size smaller, and it fit like a glove!! And after having a chat with the manager about my uncertainties, she made me feel positive on purchasing the gown... So I did, in the smaller size... And it fits great!! Little alterations are to be made.

I also purchased my shoes there and had them dyed blue. Many people said NEVER dye shoes, there's always problems, but the service was great when I purchased my shoes... The man was very patient with me, as I tried the shoes on and walked around in them for awhile. He also helped me on getting the right size, to be absolutely comfortable. After getting them dyed, they look phenomenal!! I can't wait to wear them for my "something blue" :)

My bridesmaid consultant was awesome as well!! Sadly, after many gowns, I fell in love with a bridesmaid gown that David's Bridal does NOT carry...

All in all, David's Bridal wasn't HORRIBLE... Just the bridal consultant, but luckily I didn't have to deal with her anymore :)

The staff at David's Bridal was very helpful while I was looking for a dress. They were
attentive and helpful in finding accessories (veils) to go with the
dress, as well. However, once I bought the dress they stopped being so helpful.
The alteration ladies all told us a different story about the status of the service, but in the end the
alterations and pressing turned out just fine.

My experience at David's Bridal in Schaumburg was less than desirable. I purchased my bridesmaid and flowergirl gown here and this was, unfortunately, a very bad experience. I was not able to accompany all of my bridesmaid's to the store when they went to get their gowns ordered, and the staff members had the girls trying on the incorrect styles of dresses. Luckily, my bridesmaid had seen a picture of the gown and was able to point out the error. I also had issues with staff members at the store confusing my color selections. We had ordered sashes to accompany all of the gowns, and one of the sashes came in just two days before the wedding, due to an error of the store. I had to go in at least 6 times to correct mistakes and ensure the accuracy of the order we placed. At the end everyone had the correct dresses and looked beautiful. I chose David's Bridal, after all, because they had the perfect, unique gown that I had envisioned my girl's wearing- at a price I felt comfortable asking them to pay. Although the staff's performance was unorganized and inefficient, I do commend the management for their efforts in correcting the issues. It should not, however, have ever gotten so mixed up in the first place!

I worked with the David's Bridals in Schaumburg and Lombard. I had bad luck with staff at both locations. In Lombard – I had zero assistance as I bought my wedding dress. No help was offered as I tried to put on the dress/slip/etc. and it was hard to find employees when I really needed something. At Schaumburg – the staff was more helpful and easily found, but they gave me incorrect information several times (regarding sizing, styles, prices, availability).

I had a very hard time with my bridesmaid’s gowns. I initially found the gowns I wanted at the House of Brides. My bridal party submitted the order for the gowns, and later we were told the gowns had been discontinued, so the order had to be canceled. Then we went to David’s Bridal and selected a gown there. This was a good option for me because I had bridesmaids who didn’t live in the area. I gave each of the girls the style number of the gown and they all were able to go to a David's Bridal that was convenient for them. They were able to buy them off the rack, which was also a plus. I had a bridesmaid that found out she was pregnant during this process, and she was able to wait till just before the wedding to buy the right size off the rack. I definitely didn't receive a lot of 1:1 attention from the staff, but I was happy with how the gowns looked for the wedding. The gowns were inexpensive, but still looked beautiful for the occasion and in the photos. We also ordered our invitations through David’s Bridal. I felt the invitations were overpriced. It seemed as if it was something we could have done on our own, for much less money and just as good of quality.

I purchased my Bridal gown and my bridesmaid's gowns from David's Bridal in Schaumburg. I loved my gown, it had gorgeous pearl and bead detailing, and was of a beautiful quality. The staff was amicable, and the end product of all of the gowns purchased for my wedding was perfect. My only complaint is that I had to wait when I arrived for my fittings and appointments at the store. I thought that was the point of having an appointment. But other than that, everything turned out great!

I went to four different bridal stores searching for my dress and my bridesmaid dress. I started at David's Bridal and want back the next day due to the great service I received the day prior. The store accompanied me in every aspect. My consultant's name was Britanny and she was awesome. She was very patient with me and went out of her way to ensure I was trying on the dress style that I felt most comfortable in. She had great taste and actually picked out the gown that I chose. I also went with the veil and tiara that she chose. I loved the tradition of ringing the bell when I found my dress. The staff and customers clapped and cheered. It was a fun and memorable experience.
