David's Bridal Torrance

All 6 of my BM's dresses were purchased from this David's bridal. The sales person we originally had the appointment with was running late helping a previous customer. So we got another sales person who was new, sweet as ever but had no clue what she was doing. Luckily one of my bridesmaids has experience as wedding dress consultant and helped the sales person who was very greatful. While checking out the manager had to come help (as said the sales person did not really know what she was doing) one of my BM's was giving me a hard time not wanting to purchase her dress at that time, the manager actually gave her $20 off for purchasing her dress. I could go on with my story but in the end I got $20 off of all my girls dresses and I didn't even purchase my gown from them.

This shop is basically what you'd expect for the money.

The help is spotty, and they are a bit anal about what you can do at the store on your own. For instance, the first time I went in I got scolded for taking dresses off the rack on my own & not making an appointment. The woman who helped me try on dresses was nice, but did not offer up much advice on styles & coloring that would suit me best.

The dress I got is pretty, in fine shape, and the alterations were done on time & properly. Although, when I bought my gown (it has a somewhat long train) I wasn't told I would need a bustle (I think they assume all women know everything about wedding dresses?) so I was surprised when I was told abruptly that I had to come in for alterations. Also, I don't know if this is normal, but they wanted my dress about 2 months before the wedding for alterations, and it took them 2 months to do the bustle & steam, which is crazy. They will charge you rush fees if you go outside of their time boundaries.

If you buy dresses off the rack, check them carefully for snags & tears. My sister was looking for a quick gown & many of the rack dresses had problems.
