Reviews for Davis Deejays

I got a great deal on a deejay from Davis Deejays at a wedding event in Alexandria, VA. You truly can't beat their price! I was able to select my deejay, Colin, and they had videos on their website to help make the selection process easier. I sent a list of songs and the names of the bridal party to Bill, who runs everything. He was a tad slow on e-mail and I had to e-mail twice at times to confirm he received them. Colin called me the week before the wedding to go over things.
My whole life I had dreamed of walking out to Pachebel's Canon; however, I know that was not my big introduction song. In fact, I have no clue what song I walked down to! I was disappointed when I heard it but what can you do in that moment? Stop walking down the aisle? Fortunately I zoned in on my husband and forgot about it. Whatever it was, the song was beautiful but it wasn't the ONE piece of my wedding I had always wanted.
When it came to introductions of the bridal party, Colin worked with us on that. He did it beautifully even with some difficult names to announce! We immediately jumped into our song and then the special dances. He started to play the wrong song for the groom/mother dance and things were a bit rocky getting to the song. From that moment on he nailed everything and kept the party going. Colin was funny, kind, and his music kept people dancing all night. We had a blast!
Other than some mistakes and bumpy moments, I would recommend Davis Deejays to someone else. My guests had a good time!

Megan: We are truly sorry that the version of the Pachelbel Canon that Colin played did not sound like a typical version of the song. I agree that it doesn't. But it was the Pachelbel Canon
In fact, it is the exact version that you asked for on your wedding coordinatiing questionnaire. You asked for " Pachalbel-Canon in D. From Exam Study Classical Music to increase Brain Power, Classical Study Music for Relaxation, Concentration and Focus on Learning- Classical Music and Classical Songs by Exam Study Classical Music Orchestra.
You were so specific on your questionnaire, i went and bought this version for you, even though we already own about 30 more traditional and familiar versions of the song.
I agree that this new age version does not sound like a typical string quartet and the melody is hidden in the beginning. Perhaps when you chose this version, you listened to a sample on line and not the whole song, and the 20 second sample was more to your liking than the entire song. In any event, that is the version that you asked for and the version that Colin played.
In the future ifa bride asks for an unusual version of a song, I will play it for them on the phone to make sure that is the version they really want.
Again my apologies.

This company was awesome. The Dj was great, and a crowd pleaser. We had Brian, the Irish DJ, and we enjoyed him very much!

My one main issue was that I requested a particular DJ from their site and I was told she was available, but then less than two weeks before my wedding I was told she was not available. I was told by the owener that I would receive an upgrade with a DJ whom was similar. The 'upgrade' was not as outgoing as my original choice and I could tell she didn't have much experience. So I am very disappointment with the owner. Seriously, what was my upgrade? Just them keeping my total amount paid?

We take negative reviews very seriously and are sorry that the bride wasn't entirely happy with our service.
The original deejay was unavailable due to a health issue. So We assigned Mary Ann who is an outgoing deejay just like the original deejay.
Mary Ann has been with us since 2005 and was an experienced deejay when we hired her. You can see several videos of Mary Ann performing at wedding receptions on our website at http://www.davisdeejays.com. Click on
"wedding demo videos." This is the first complaint that we ever had about her. In fact, she has generated a wealth of positive feedback for us and is one of our six most popular deejays.
The bride had no specifc complaints, only that Mary Ann wasn't the original deejay. She played all of the bride's pre-requested music and kept the crowd dancing and smiling. She handled all the traditions with style and skill.
I believe that the bride is venting simply because she didn't get her original choice, this was a situation beyond our control.

Overall Lee Hardict was a good DJ for my wedding. I do have a few complaints, he did play the popular "wobble" song three times throughout the night. He also used his phone to play music and had the message notifications playing over the loud speaker. He also allowed guests to connect their cell phones to his system and play music. I hired him as the DJ not my friends playing music from their Iphones. We also sent him a great deal of cultural music we wanted played and he only played a few songs. When I emailed to inform the company just as constructive feedback they basically told me its the brides fault because I never said people couldnt hook up their phones. He also lied and said my mother requested the song! Ha! My mother doesnt even dance, nor did she speak to the DJ. Pure joke. Instead of just saying thank you for the feedback they attacked me.
Other than the above he showed up on time, was very interactive with crowd and had lots of engery.

We do appreciate feedback and addressed the bride's concerns with our dj Lee.
To quote the bride," Lee Hardict was a good DJ for my wedding." She liked his energy and enthusiasm.
Prior to the reception the bride told us to take requests on the questionnaire that she filled out. Lee played the Wobble by request and it packed the floor.
People enjoyed the song so much he had dozens of requests to repeat it including requests from family members. So hours later he played it again by popular demand and it got another strong dance floor response.
We received a list of requested dance songs from Africa compiled by a couple friends of the bride and submitted to us by the bride. A few of these songs are not for sale here. We told the bride ahead of time that they were unavailable. These same co-workers brought these songs on their I Phones. Lee played them to make her guests happy.

I am very happy that I choose awesome DJ for my wedding. I had Korean ceremony, Pae Baek, during the reception party. My DJ, Mary Ann, was good at playing new Korean traditional music each time we bow, serve the tea and so on. She is excellent!!!! I also like Davis Deejays because they let us know what we should plan for the reception party ahead of the time! I am so happy right now. I strongly recommend Davis DJ for my friends and relatives.

Davis Deejays service was spectacular! Bill, the head of the business, was extremely helpful during the whole wedding planning process, especially since our Naval Academy wedding was a destination wedding. We were also extremely pleased with the hard work of our DJ, Randy!!! He was funny, energetic, very easy to work with and was a great guy all around. At the end of our wedding and even weeks after our wedding we had numerous people compliment his talent! I have never been to a wedding where every single guest was on the dance floor. The only thing that made me a little uneasy was not being able to talk to him until a few days prior to the wedding because of his other job but that's where Bill came to the rescue. I can assure you that Randy's work was fantastic and I honestly would not change anything if I could. I highly recommend Randy if you would like to have a fun energetic reception! Their prices are reasonable, as well!

Jack Lane was our deejay and we really enjoyed him. They provided up-lights, in addition to the music, and the lighting was great. He put them exactly where I had asked. We gave a list of the songs we wanted played and they were very flexible in letting us choose nearly all of the music that was played at the reception. Jack called me a week before the wedding to review the timeline, name pronunciations, and songs. My sister sang the first dance song, as well as another song, and he just put in her CD of background music and gave her a microphone to sing the songs. It was great!

Actually, Brian Douglas was the DJ at our 50th Wedding Anniversary Dinner Parety. He is a very personable, humorous, and a delightful person. We think he is Scottish on his father's side and Irish on his mother's (or vice versa), and speaks with what could be called a slight "burr". My wife picked him out of the Davis Dee Jay website videos. Good choice!
GUEST

A friend recommended Davis Deejays. They were professional, easy to work with, and offered a great discount. Eddie Grant was our DJ. He was friendly, flexible, and worked hard to get our reluctant guests on the dance floor.
GUEST

Randy Richmond was the DJ at my wedding and he did a great job. He played all of my requested music and more and kept the guests dancing all night long. Everyone had a blast! Davis DJs was responsive and easy to work with and I recommend using them.
GUEST

We hired Eddie Grant from Davis Deejays based on a recommendation from a friend. Eddie was there early to set up some pink uplights I rented from them and they made the room light up without being too bright. Eddie double checked everything before we started the reception, which was good because we had some last minute changes. I gave him a general idea of the music I wanted to be played as I was not picky. I also said I wanted him to be open to requests. Eddie also did a good job selecting the songs and picked up on the cues from the guests on what to play and what not to play and our dance floor was moving the whole time. I felt that Eddie kept the guests dancing and was funny when doing the traditional wedding reception things (garter toss, bouquet toss, anniversary dance, etc).
Thank you Eddie and Davis Deejays for doing a great job making our reception fun!

We had a DJ for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. This guy was great he was very professional and interacted with the crowd and hosted a great Newly Wed game that every one enjoyed. What a great experience!!
GUEST

Our DJ was Brian, and he was so great! Very out going and was able to get my small crowd of 25 people going. It was so much fun, he was so flexible. Brian is by far the best DJ! My parents even booked him for my brother's wedding in April.
GUEST

Our DJ was perfect - we received compliments about him time and time again after the wedding. He was also very flexible and great at making announcements (our schedule went faster than expected in the beginning). My parents used this company so they recommended them to us and I couldn't be happier - I will recommend to everyone! Reasonably priced as well - got 5 hours of music (ceremony & reception) and they set up early with plenty of time to spare. Love them!
GUEST

We had a great experience with Davis Deejays. We got a nice discount for booking early. Brian Douglas was our DJ and did a great job. He was professional, friendly, and played everything we asked for along with taking requests from our guests. I would defiantly use him again!
GUEST

Brian Douglas was very nice, very personable, very professional, and very timely, he is very good at what he does. I will request for my other daughters wedding.
Thank you for making the reception entertaining and smooth.

Davis Deejays provided us with excellent service! Our DJ, Patrick was really helpful and responsive, played all of the music we asked for, and also took requests from our guests. Thank you to Patrick and Davis Deejays for making our wedding so awesome! We will definitely tell our friends about what great servie we received!

We first met Randy from Davis Deejays back in July 2010 when he was the DJ for my cousin's (also MOH) wedding, I wasnt even engaged yet and I decided that I wanted him to be my DJ. (My mom and dad also loved him at my cousin's wedding). He's full of energy, humorous and not overly cheesy as some DJs can be.
Also want to give a shout out to Bill from Davis Deejays, who helped create our first dance song, which was a huge success. We (well I, haha) picked out about 25 different songs and had him create about a 7 min medley of songs that we surprised our guests with a coordinated dance. (Thank you Arthur Murray Dance studio- EMILY!!!).
Here's the youtube clip:...

Davis Deejays is good and bad.......the good part is the value
The DJ arrived late said he was going to get there at 2:30 to setup but got there at 5 when the reception started at 4.The music the DJ was playing was very good and everyone had a blast dancing, but he played very few slow songs and Tony (the DJ) was very hard to understand. None of the guest could understand what he was saying.
Bill was easy to work with and did end up issuing a partial refund which was nice/professional.
Vendor response to review
We are truly sorry that Tony arrived at 4:30 pm and started playing music at 5 pm. Tony has been with us for years and has never been late for a party before and he's done hundreds of them for us. He used to live in Montgomery County near Frederick. When he left his house in Washngton DC, he typed in Frederick Maryland by force of habit into his GPS instead of Prince Frederick where the event took place. He didn't realize his mistake until he got to Frederick. At that point, he called the venue to let them know that he was arriving late. Unfortunately Katie and Jamie missed some some dinner music.
We refunded Katie's mother who verified the lost hour for triple time lost. We do thousands of weddings a year and we are almost never late. ( If we made a habit out of arriving late, we'd be out of business with a triple your money back guarantee.)
With regard to his emcee abilities, Tony used to be a radio announcer and a minister prior to being a mobile disc jockey. He has an excellent speaking voice and a smooth delivery. It's possilble the acoustics of the room made him hard to understand. If you go to our website at http://www.davisdeejays.com and click on "wedding demo videos." You can see a video of Tony and judge for yourself his ability to make announcements.

At first I had a good experience with Davis Deejays. We were able to book them during a sale and get a free upgrade to a top 12 DJ. Bill Davis was nice and made everything easy to understand and figure out. I was told I should submit the wedding coordination questionnaire a few weeks before the wedding, so I did a week and a half or so before our wedding and referenced the DJ we had selected on it.
Then two days later, I got a call saying our DJ had a family emergency and they had assigned us a new one. It seemed like strange timing to let me know this two days after I referenced his name in my email and left me wondering about the timing of it all. We looked at the video of the new DJ who was assigned to us and he could not have been more different than the one we had picked. We went from a young, bilingual DJ who was “moderate profile” to a sleepy sounding old man who was quite and “low-profile”. We had picked a moderate profile DJ and asked him to talk a bit less than normal because we still wanted him to have energy when he did talk.
When I talked to Bill Davis about my disappointment he was unapologetic and unsympathetic. I asked about other options and was told everyone else was unavailable on our date except the two back up DJs who don’t have videos online. I then pointed out we had received a free upgrade to a top 12 DJ when we booked, as specified in our contract, which I was told was a $499 value, and asked how we could resolve that. He then informed me that the top 12 DJs are changing all the time, depending upon current requests for them. He also said that Jack was now in the top 12 since Ruben left, he took his spot. This seemed hard to believe given that I was also being told he was their only regular duty DJ available on our date. Wouldn't a top 12 DJ be one of the first to get booked? I restated who I was told was in the top 12 at the time we booked, and reminded him that I had booked Davis Deejays with the understanding I would get one of those twelve people. He double checked the schedule and suddenly one of those top 12 deejays, Allen, was available after all. That seemed pretty shady to me and I got upset, and even then Bill remained unapologetic simply stating that it was a mistake and people make mistakes and there’s nothing he could do. I haven’t experienced such bad customer service in a long time. Even if he can't do anything else I would think he could sympathize with brides a little when their DJ is changed so drastically 1 week before the wedding.
Even though this was the main cause of stress the week before our wedding, I have to say I’m pleased with the top 12 deejay we did get, Allen. He was personable, talked just enough, and made sure he had a really good idea of what I wanted played. He was organized despite only being assigned to my wedding less than week before it and posed great questions. He played a good variety within the bounds of the music we requested and had so many people of all ages on the dance floor.
Overall, don’t book them at full price. Don’t pay more for a top 12 DJ or believe that has any value, since they may back down from it later. I don’t completely regret my decision to use them, since it did turn out wonderfully, but it did cause a huge amount of stress to me and I wouldn’t recommend them due to that.
Vendor response to review
If you read the end of the review, the bride does say that the deejay did a good job and that she was pleased with his performance.
We're sorry we had to make a change. Normally the assigned disc jockey is the deejay who does the job. We are dealing with human beings, however and they can get sick, have an accident or a family emergency. In this case, Ruben had to go back to Florida because his father was ill. He didn't give us much notice.
We then assigned Jack to the party because he was also one of the top 12 deejays. When they looked at his video and thought he was too low key, we asked Allen to give up a vacation weekend to fill in, which he did.

Davis Deejays was great! We picked an outgoing DJ and he kept the party flowing and people dancing. I would say there were just a couple hicups from the processional being the wrong song but other than that our DJ was fun and very professional!
GUEST

The person we had was Eddie. He played music for our wedding reception and it went well. At the restaurant, there was a wide range of diversity. Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Qban, Russian, and American as well. The music could not be only one type of genre. The DJ did very well. Furthermore, he was there before I got there. He spoke well and proper and was fully engaged into the party as well. I would recommend them because of quality of service and value.
GUEST

We had Ken for the ceremony and the reception and he did an amazing job. I really liked the worksheet they had that let me pick a lot of the music we would use... I would use Davis DeeJays for other events where I needed a DJ
GUEST

We got Davis deejays for our wedding. When we booked them Mr. Davis asked us a number of questions about the kind of DJ we were interested in (e.g., upbeat getting people involved, more reserved, etc.). We didn't go with one of the "upgraded" DJs that are supposed to be one of the most popular DJs. We sent in a questionnaire about our music tastes, which songs we might prefer for what events, etc. We heard from the DJ about a week from the wedding so that he could touch base with us about what we might want, the order of events, and general clarification. The DJ was a professional the whole evening and showed up early to make sure he was set up. He played music that suited our tastes and helped get people out on the dance floor without being too overbearing for our tastes. Honestly, it was exactly what we had hoped for in a DJ - good music, a great voice, a good understanding of how to keep the reception moving and no problems.
GUEST

We had a poolside wedding reception for our daughter this past weekend and Davis Deejays provided us with Randy and he was awesome! Not only is he professional, but he was very flexible and happy to make all announcements with his great radio voice.
Randy also handled the video show like a pro and he is self sufficient, we did not have to monitor him or worry about set up, he brought his own table and did not require any attention or assistance, it was a breeze! Thank you Randy and Bill Davis!
GUEST

Randy was an absolutely fabulous DJ! He was very "in tune" with what we wanted for our wedding. He played every song I wanted to hear - and the only thing I could have wanted was some more time to dance!!! My husband asked for us to enter into the room to the theme song of Star Wars, and Randy gave us the ultimate entrance - he had the perfect voice and introduction for us - and everyone loved it! Even prior exchanges with Bill Davis was excellent. He always responded to my emails and made sure that I got what I wanted. A big thank you to Davis Deejays to making our wedding so special!
GUEST

Overall we were very pleased with Davis Deejays. They gave us a great discount for booking early and we enjoyed that you could view videos of their various deejays online. The only disappointment we had was that the deejay we selected had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency and instead of the company contacting us to make us aware of the situation the first we learned of it was when the alternate DJ left us a voicemail. We felt like this could have been communicated to us better. The company was understanding about the situation and as a courtesy extended a rebate to us, which was nice of them The replacement DJ was excellent and very courteous and put as at ease. They played all of the music we requested and a nice mix throughout the evening. Davis Deejays is an all around solid company -- can't really go wrong with them.
GUEST

Our DJ was awesome, he had a ton of personality and everyone loved him. Very great company to work with, everything was EASY!
GUEST

Our DJ Allen was great at the wedding. He answered all our questions, took our guests' requests and helped make it a great night!
GUEST

I absolutely loved having Moe as our DJ/MC. He was professional, fun and knew how to really keep a party moving. He went over the entire schedule including song choice, wedding party announcements, etc. well in advance of the wedding but was completely understanding if we wanted to make any changes (even on the day of the wedding). He kept the music exactly to what we like and had the volume perfect to everyone's mood. Practically every one of our guests said that he was amazing!! I guarantee that you will not be disappointed with Davis Dj's/Moe as your wedding DJ/MC; I would recommend him to anyone looking to have a great party at their wedding
GUEST

I used Brian Douglas from Davis Deejays. He was very fun and lively. He's Scottish and we requested he wear his traditional kilt. There were a few song errors, and he announced the wrong person to give the invocation, but overall he was great. Davis Deejays was very professional and worked with me on any last minute change I had. They were great!
GUEST

My husband and I had been nervous about using Davis Deejays at first when it was getting to be close to a week before the wedding and we had not heard from the DJ we selected. In addition, there were some mix-ups over whether our song list had been received at all. But, within a few days of the wedding (I assume this is standard practice for the company), Lindsay, who was our DJ, called and reviewed the timeline and made some very helpful suggestions and basically outlined how things would go. Her experience was very obvious and she turned out to be a wonderful DJ. We've already recommended her to a friend who is getting married.
If you're thinking about going with Davis Deejays, keep an eye out for any deals they may have advertised on their website. We were able to hire the company for about half the regular price. We were pretty particular about the music, so in general, if you can find it on iTunes, the company will be able to get it and if not, you just have to supply it for them.
GUEST

We were very impressed with Davis Deejays and would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a good, energetic deejay.
GUEST

I just had MaryAnn from Davis DJ's do my November 6 wedding at Union Station - she was awesome, I have had guests compliment the music and our DJ - we could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding!
GUEST

Overall, Davis Deejays was what we expected for the money we paid. We did have some issues with them not noting that we would need two DJ setups - one during dinner, and one for the reception. Had I not mentioned that to the DJ during our phone meeting, we would not have had any music during our reception. So we ended up having to pay a few hundred dollars 2 days before the wedding to make sure we'd have music. The DJ was good, but he argued with my bridesmaids when they requested that he stop playing a fast song, slow song, fast song, slow song because no one was dancing.
Vendor response to review
When the wedding was booked a year in advance, we were told that everything was going to be in one room. Our standard contracts are for one set up in one room. We did not find out about the second set up until the deejay called the client to go over details. The bride never notified us of any changes and nothing was mentioned about a second set up in the coordinating questionnaire that the bride filled out. Yes, we do charge extra for an extra sound system but so does everyone else.
GUEST

I was a little hesitant about hiring Davis but they had the best prices and ended up doing a fabulous job at our reception! 5 stars!

We had Eddie Grand from Davis DJ's at our wedding and he did a great job! He was the perfect blend of fun and energetic, but not obnoxious. Everyone seemed to have a great time and we had a good crowd on the dance floor. He did a very nice job with introductions and got most of the songs we requested in for the evening. He was also very flexible when we had a last minute singer perform for us and made the transition flow very well.
I do wish that you got to talk with the DJs a bit earlier than a week before the wedding, as there were a few points I would have liked to go over in more detail with him. But overall I was very pleased and would highly recommend Eddie!
GUEST

Randy was our DJ and did great job. He was very professional and has a great stage presence in front of the guests. I would recommend him to anyone!

Absolutely the BEST! Easiest choice I had to make. All of their info is on their website. No surprises, no hidden fees...See your Deejay in action before you choose him. Great idea. We chose Jack and he was FANTASTIC...experienced...not a silly kid...VERY PROFESSIONAL with a great disposition!!!

I was very pleasantly surprised with this company. I was a little nervous because of the whole "you get what you pay for" thing and they were super cheap compared to almost anyone (I also happened to book them during a special), but you'd never know that by the quality. Booking was incredibly easy, and the man I spoke to on the phone was so friendly. Whenever I contacted the company, Bill Davis personally responded to me, promptly. Speaking with my DJ on the phone (I had Randy Richmond), he made me feel very at ease about how the reception will go - I could trust him to lead it. In our discussion, he easily got a sense of my tastes in music and thought to ask questions about things I'd never think of. During the reception, he was perfect and we actually had several people comment on how much they liked the music selection.
GUEST

We were extremely happy with Brian Douglas from davis deejays. He played most of my requested music and played alot of requests from our guests. He was on point with all of the events and was very entertaining and pleasant with all of my guests. They did a wonderful job.
GUEST

We were thrilled! We thought we were just saving money by hiring a DJ instead of a band, but we got much more than we realized. Having a DJ gave us unlimited music genre without breaks in the flow of the evening. For a small, elegant wedding it was much better than a band. The DJ was able to shift the momentum as needed and keep the reception lively and fun. Not only that, he was like one of the family, helping anywhere he could as we set up. We truly enjoyed having him be a part of this special evening, and would recommend Davis DJs unconditionally! We will use them again.
GUEST

Here's the lowdown on our experience with Davis Deejays. The communication before the reception was fine, our questions were answered promtly. The biggest issue we had was with the music quality during the reception. The equipment must have been faulty or just old, but it skipped during every fast song. It was very disruptive to the flow of the reception and just plain annoying.
It would have been better for the reception if we just had an ipod because the music disruption was ongoing. We had our reception out our house, so the floors might have had some bounce. Just an FYI for any brides of have a home wedding.
Vendor response to review
After returning from vacation, I immediately talked to the client. We never had a skipping problem with that deejay's equipment prior to their reception and afterwards. The hollow floors in their house were not dance friendly, and the crowd was right on top of the deejay. The deejay did the best he could under the circumstances. The crowd was dancing and having a good time, but occasionally the songs did skip. As a way of apologizing, we did send them a courtesy refund even though the situation was defintely NOT our fault.

Overall the value of Davis Deejays is great! We booked when they had a special deal going on and we were happy to be able to view the videos of the DJs at work! It made our selection much easier! Unfortunately, we received a call two days prior to my wedding informing me that our DJ was unavailable and would be replaced by Vicky. Vicky was fine, but not who we wanted, so needless to say I was disappointed. According to the company, the DJ we had originally selected had a death in the family. I hope this was true and that they didn't just foolishly overbook him, because I was NOT HAPPY. Also, I did not find out from Bill Davis, but Vicky herself. She was just as surprised as I was that this was the first I was hearing of it, and she didn't even know who I was talking about when I mentioned the name of our original DJ. Not very professional. No offense to Vicky or any other female DJ, but i simply do not like female DJs. I find men to be more lively and their demeanor and tone to be much more appealing for weddings. Just my opinion and I think vicky proved that to be true as many complained that she was boring and seemed to not want to be there. Besides that snafoo (which added to the many that happened on and around my wedding) - I love their website and feel they are a great value (if you get who you want)
Vendor response to review
The deejay most definitely had a death in their family. Otherwise we would have sent the originally chosen deejay. The substitute was a very talented, experienced and popular deejay. But unfortunately she was not the deejay that the client originally selected. So we sent them an adjustment.

Davis Deejay's was having a special when we booked them. I did not know at the time what style of music I wanted played at the wedding so as time went by I started mailing them all kinds of changes to the music selections. They were so kind about the changes that I made and three days before the wedding we got a call from the DJ assigned to our wedding. Jerry Ross. He was so kind and grateful for the time that I spent with him on the phone going over details that I had never considered before. I want the grateful one by the end of the conversation. Even on the day of the wedding, when I asked him to make an announcement to recognize a couple celebrating their anniversary on our wedding day he was so kind and said "Not a problem." When the music started he had us dancing all night and our guests commented highly on the music selections and the quality of our DJ. They asked us where we found him! Thank you Jerry Ross of Davis Deejays for making our reception unforgettable!

Not only is Davis Deejays the best, but Randy Richmond is the ultimate DJ. He made our wedding day perfect. He went with all of the many song and dance suggestions we made, he had our guests on the floor and having fun and he knows how to treat a bride and groom. We can't thank Randy enough for making our day complete.

Wow, Eddie Grant from Davis Deejays was GREAT! I was really so surprised how *wonderful* he was. Yes, I only talked to him 6 days before the wedding, but that was OK with me since I knew what to expect and it would not have changed much had I spoken to him sooner.
I initially called Davis Deejays and spoke to Bill Davis, who hastily took my information and charged my credit card. That made me nervous, after reading some online reviews, but the timing of the payment really didn't change anything. So I figured, one less thing to worry about before the wedding. :-)
Eddie Grant, the DJ who would be working my wedding, called me on the Monday preceding my wedding. He told me what he had of my requests and how I wanted the style to be. Eddie told me he had my lists of songs to play and not play, and he would follow them to the T. We even agreed on how to deal with requests from guests that are not on my list. I knew there would be some requests outside of what we wanted to have, so that was a relief. Eddie told me what he would need from me, which was just a list of names to announce, and he assured me that he would play the music I requested and I could give him additional lists or CDs on the wedding day. I told him I was anxious about the music, but he put me at ease.
On the wedding day, Eddie was there early and was set up in plenty of time. He came to meet me right after the ceremony, to ensure the entrance songs were in order and the list of names. He also helped line us up to be announced. I needed that help, so it was very much appreciated.
During the reception, Eddie stuck exactly to my list of songs. He also was relatively quiet, which is perfect for our crowd, and made announcements at appropriate times. Another thing is that he was happy to share the microphone with us, and he himself did not talk just to hear himself talk. He was GREAT!
After hearing from other brides about how their DJs played whatever they wanted, ignored the bride's lists, talked too much, etc., I was nervous! But Eddie Grant was WONDERFUL and I highly recommend him and Davis Deejays.
Thank you EDDIE GRANT! Thank you Davis Deejays!

Lee was our dj and he was great. He had a great personality and provided a reception that got everyone up and dancing. I would recommend Davis Deejay to anyone. This is the second time I have used them and I plan to use them anytime I have an event in the future.

The DJ was important to me, but I still didn’t have a lot of money to spend on one. I was looking to fit about a $700 budget, but to not have to hire a high school kid. Luckily, I discovered that Davis Deejay was running a special on winter weddings. I ended up paying $579 for five hours of music for a premium level DJ (Davis Deejay ranks their DJs based on experience and popularity). Since I stumbled across this deal right before it expired, Bill Davis was kind enough to extend it until we could fax in a signed contract, which we quickly did.
We were allowed to choose our DJ from the videos posted on the website, and my husband quickly became an enormous fan of Jack Ladd, Davis’s low-key, quiet DJ. Since I’m not a big fan of outgoing and talkative DJs, I thought that Jack sounded wonderful. After filling out a song list questionnaire on the website, I got a call from Jack during the week of my wedding. Jack read through all of my song choices with me, confirmed the timeline of the reception, and made sure that he could pronounce everyone’s names. He was easy to talk to and very pleasant. I was excited to work with him!
By the time that I arrived at my reception on my wedding day, Jack was already there playing some mood music. The whole reception went smoothly, and he easily adapted when my maids of honor decided to give impromptu toasts, my cake had to be cut much earlier than planned, and my sisters started requesting interesting songs. He knew exactly what to play to keep people dancing for hours! We had an afternoon dry wedding, but there were still plenty of people dancing up to the last minute of the five hours. Jack was awesome!
All in all, I thought I made an excellent choice for my personality and budget. Since I wasn’t really worried about this part of the planning process since he’d had so many years’ experience, it didn’t bother me that I never got to speak with Jack until after I had signed and paid everything, but I probably wouldn’t recommend this company to a bride who finds this really important.

I couldn't give a better review for Davis Deejays. Rick (DJ) was excellent and interacted for well with everyone in attendance. He stuck to the list of songs we provided and was very good at getting people on the dance floor. I would absolutely recommend them for any wedding.
GUEST

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Our DJ did a fantastic job about gauging the crowd and made sure everyone enjoyed themselves. We had requested the quieter style of a dj, and got exactly that. He was never annoying, just right. I had priced out other Dj's and have to say that their prices were the best. The only annoying thing was having to listen to their jingle "davis dj's" every time you clicked on a different page. Overall, I highly recommend them to any couple.
GUEST

The DJ, Vicki, was extremely rude to members in the wedding party, guests, THE BRIDE, and members of the catering staff. She refused to comply with our requests and would not follow the playlist we had provided her with at the time the contract was finalized. Didn't take feedback very well, became defensive for no reason at all. The only thing good about the DJ service was the price because we got it half off. If I were you, go somewhere else.
GUEST

They were good, especially for the cost. They provided a great beat to dance to and kept people on the floor all night.
GUEST

I loved my DJ! She was soooo nice and high energy. I'm not a big party person but she even had me dancing as well as guests passing by in the hotel.
GUEST

They did such a great job with our reception! Everyone was dancing and things flowed smoothly! I would recommend them to anyone!
GUEST

They were good overall. However, we provided a list of songs to play, as well as songs to not play. They played about 1/3 of the requested songs and started playing some of the do-not-play songs. We had to cut the DJ off in the beginning of one of the songs and when we corrected him, he asked if another song was not of and we said no... He had it cued up next to play. We also asked him to be low-key and for the most part he was, but there were times when he just spoke too much.
GUEST

Randy was fantastic. He was great about contacting me before the reception to make sure that we had everything in order, and he was very amenable to some of the last-minute changes we made. He was very professional and lively and played exactly the type of music that I had asked for. Everything was absolutely perfect.
GUEST

We loved DJ Colin from Davis Deejays!

I got a super deal for Davis Deejay and they really were awesome. I friend of the family is a DJ, who had committed to playing the reception, but then pulled out at the last minute with a conflict -ugh! So I called only about a month before the wedding, was able to book Davis Deejay for a third of the cost of many of the other area DJs, and I requested a DJ who was mid-range (not too over the top- but fun). I requested Robert from the online profiles, and they delivered. Robert was great, super nice, super fun -one of the best DJ's I have seen at recent weddings. Had a great variety and was super knowledgeable about music. Would book him again for any party I may throw!
GUEST

I had heard great things about this company far before beginning to look for a DJ, and was lucky enough to not only find them available, but take advantage of a 60% off deal. From the beginning they were professional and responsive. I loved that the DJ himself called a couple days prior to the event to run through how things would go, and review my song choices. It was Jack who we booked, and I would highly recommend him - he has a wonderful deep voice that is just perfect for DJing, and is a very nice person. There was one moment during the wedding, when we first walked into the reception and were introduced as "Mr. & Mrs."; we were both incredibly nervous and for some reason thought that was supposed to be the start of our first dance (we were actually supposed to wait until after the meal). The DJ sort of pointed out our mistake over the loudspeaker, which was very embarrassing! However, I think he meant it lightheartedly, and it was very minor and the only snag in the evening.
GUEST

MaryAnn Fitzpatrick was our Davis DeeJay and she was terrific. On time, made all announcements, played requested and suggested music, was attentive to the event and participants. I will request her in the future.
GUEST

At first, my now-husband and I were going to do the music stuff ourselves. After putting off the music selecting everytime we spoke about it, my brother-in-law called Davis on my behalf and found me a great deal. At the time, they were running a 70% off sale on their services. Now, before you all think that it's rare that they do this, its not. I've heard countless commercials on the radio for them and they seem to be always running specials. We got our DJ for $678 for 6 hours. They provided us with a contract that asked our preferences for everything from music type to how energetic they are (whether they really try to get people to get up and dance and whether they play loud or softly).
The questions they asked were very specific too. We were able to provide several types of music for our reception; everything from 80's to pop hits of the day. I was even able to write in the margins that any music with profanity or inappropriate topics were not to be played and they listened. That's one thing I would recommend any bride doing; if you don't want such songs (containing profanity) to be played, don't be specific to the song titles, be broad and write that it will not be allowed at all. They listen.
The only drawback we had for our wedding was that our DJ was misinformed about how long it would take to get to our wedding venue and he was a little late. It was not his fault, and he felt terrible about it. He made up for it by playing music for us past the cut-off time because he wanted us to get our money's worth.
All-in-all, Tony was fantastic for the wedding we wanted. He had a great sense of humor and was also very flexible about when things like the cake cutting and toasts were to occur. He also called us the day before personally to ensure that everything was in order, which was especially fantastic. I would definitely recommend if you don't want to pay a lot for a DJ, because some DJs I found charged as much as the catering (which, for me, was close to $2200). Good Luck. :)
GUEST

My wife planned this I had no intention but I went along and everyone else seemed to have a great time.
GUEST

We used Kevin, one of their top 10 DJ's, and he was fantastic! Played the perfect music, was a great MC. Everything was absolutely perfect.
GUEST

A great, well-organized company. I got a little nervous when I didn't hear from my DJ two weeks prior to the big day, but I called the company, they informed me they had assigned me a DJ and he'd be contacting me within the week. He did and everything worked out perfectly. He played a great combination of music for the age groups at the reception and had all of the songs we requested.
GUEST

Great music that really set the mood, would highly recommend to anyone.
GUEST

I liked working with Davis Deejay. They were very straightforward with their system and it took all of the guesswork out for me. We paid a little extra to reserve a specific DJ, Kevin McCarthy, because he provided the music at my sister in-law's wedding and was great. He was also great for us. Once he felt the groove of our crowd, our dance floor was pretty crowded all night. He was not obnoxious with cheesy one-liners and he was very pleasant. He was on-time and looked great.
GUEST

Our DJ, Mary Ann, was FANTASTIC! She accomodated our last minute requests and was a blast to have at our wedding. Everyone loved her! Bill Davis was our main contact and went out of his way to make sure we got the best deal possible.
GUEST

My husband and I were looking for a DJ for our wedding and found Davis Deejays on-line. We saw the demo for Randy, who has an outgoing and sparkling personality, so we decided to hire him.
Unfortunately, the Owner, Bill Davis, came across as a sleezy salesperson, who was clearly more interested in delving deeper in our pockets rather than delivering a good service. Also, Bill told us we weren't able to meet with our DJ, but he promised that we would have an opportunity to discuss the wedding agenda and details with Randy over the phone one week prior to our event. Well, the DJ did not return my calls. So, he made mistakes during our reception, because he was ill prepared. For example, there was an obvious glitz with the beginning of our first dance song, and he kept approaching the wrong people for speeches. How embarrassing! Over all, our experience was below average. Buyers, please beware.
GUEST

I love this company because they have years of experience and are very hospitable. The owner is personable and knowledgeable.
Thanks.

Vicki was great! She played all the songs people requested and the ones I wrote down that I wanted played. She was very patient and professional and really made the reception run smoothly.
GUEST

Davis Deejays was fantastic! It was such a great value, and the music was great. Everyone was sad to see the reception end. Way better than a band!
GUEST

Our DJ was Jerry and I'm so lucky that we got him. I'm sure they're all good but Jerry was great. Before the wedding he called me and discussed absoluetely EVERY detail about music, timing, readings and etc. that were to take place. He helped me come up with a timeline for the reception and offered advice being that he's done many weddings before and I had NO prior experience. Jerry made sure everything happened at the discussed time. The guest were always entertained thanks to Jerry and he even surprised us with a song during the garter removal b/c I forgot to tell him which song to play. He played, "Let's Get It On" and my husband thought that was just the funniest thing ever (as did the guest). :))
He was very upbeat and kept all the guests happy with the great musical selection. He did whatever he could to help and that was greatly appreciated. He even helped me out of the limo so he was there in so many different ways. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ!!!!!!!
GUEST

We had some weather issues the day of the wedding but like the DJ asked for, we had a covered tent for him to work under. When it started raining, he said he had to turn off all of his equipment because of the water. When we asked him to move inside he was not happy to have to move his stuff. Out of the 6 hours we paid him, I think we only had music playing for 2.
GUEST

Lee was our DJ. He was prepared, experienced and smoothly incorporated anything we asked for.

Great and inexpensive! They have great sales and gave me the type of DJ personality I wanted!

Davis Deejays...what a great deal. We booked them during one of their promotions and we got a lot for our money. Theyour music throughout the entire event, from the ceremony to the cocktail hour to the dancing!! They had all of the music we wanted, including the Redskins fight song for our big entrance. Our DJ Jack was wonderful...he kept the evening on track and indulged our guests with their crazy music requests.
GUEST

My DJ experience was definitely 5 star! The value was great and the DJ was wonderful. My DJ downloaded my ceremony songs, made sure they were the right versions and was extremely helpful on the wedding day. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this part of the experience!
GUEST

We booked this DJ without having had a venue at first, because of the great value! Music was a big deal to my husband and I, and we made a lengthy list of "please play" and "please don't play" for the DJ, which he followed to the word! We couldn't have been happier :) His energy was perfect, not too over-bearing and not too quiet. We also gave very detailed instructions of when to do what (in terms of certain dances, announcements, etc.), which he followed! WONDERFUL!
GUEST

WONDERFUL. Everything about Davis Deejay's service was WONDERFUL. I was able to book and pay for the service all in one day. They were very understanding and helpful when I wanted to extend the service for another hour. The DJ was EXCELLENT. He was very outgoing and funny, yet he would always run things by us first. The music was GREAT. And almost all the requests were met.
GUEST

they always have deals going on, so what should have costed close to $2000 we got for $900. The play mostly classic party favorites, but they were able to find the songs that my husband and I really wanted played at our wedding. (ask foir Kevin, he's great!)
GUEST

Our specific DJ was Lindsay. She was great! We spoke on the phone and email and she is very professional. She had many great ideas that I loved! She was completely flexible with timing and music. Her performance at the wedding was a perfect combination of professional and friendly. She was able to play every song we requested. She was bale to suggest great songs for dances we didn't know what we wanted (introduction of the wedding party, dollar dance, etc). I would request Lindsay again if we booked with Davis DJs!
Specific DJ are assigned 2 weeks before weddings which was a litter nerve wracking but she was worth it.

They spun awesome music on my day. They allowed me to pick out every song and they played it! They had fun rockin with us, they were energetic and got the crowd going. They helped find cleaner lyrics to some explicit songs and helped create a fun and exciting evening and helped us dance until are feet couldn't dance anymore. My 70 year old grandparents were even out on the floor dancing to Rihanna and Justin Timberlake!!!!! The lights were awesome and they were so uber accommodating!
GUEST

Our DJ was excellent! We had an interracial wedding, with some guests not speaking English. Eddie, our bilingual deejay, came to the rescue by translating some of the festivities for our Spanish speaking guests. The music was a good mix for young and old alike.
GUEST

Great DJs! The music flowed, everyone was announced correctly and in a timely manor. The DJ kept all the events flowing smoothly and all the music was great, a great mix of new and old. We had a great time dancing and didn't have to worry about anything. Requests were taken and played quickly and songs that i didn't want to be played weren't it was a great time!
GUEST

I did not hear back from the company until a few days before the wedding. The DJ we chose was nothing like what we were told to expect. The DJ rushed most of the main dances and wasn't a good choice to work with to satisfy our needs for our reception.
GUEST

Davis DJs did such a fabulous job with our wedding that I hardly knew they were there! They handled my demanding play and don't-play lists perfecty, and did everything we asked of them in an unusual set-up at the wedding/reception site. I recommend them without any hesitations to anyone wanting a worry-free music service. I will always remember the joy in my mom's eyes througout the reception as she realized every single song playing was a favorite of hers!
GUEST

Davis DJs was absolutely awesome. They completely lived up to the reputation that they advertise. I received so many compliments from people at my wedding about the music-- people told me it was the most fun wedding they had every been to. Our wedding was at Middleton Hall in Waldorf, MD and on the day of our wedding in the room next to ours there was another party going on but it was totally dead and boring. The DJ the other party had hired was a total dud... no one was dancing, everyone was sitting around in total silence. And can you believe the DJ from the other party actually came over to our wedding to ask our Davis DJ for ADVICE on how to pick things up? I cannot recommend Davis DJs enough. They were super professional and they did everything we asked of them. We gave them a huge list of songs that we specifically requested and they found every one of them. I'd totally use them again if I ever needed to.
GUEST

Average service. Would recommend.
GUEST

I found out the evening before my wedding that the person I paid extra for having as a DJ was not coming. Davis DeeJays sent another DJ. This DJ did not like playing at Martin's West and had not problem making this clear. At the wedding, he told Martin's that he was going to be making all the announcements which was not true. He was rude to some of my quests and he asked me what type of tip was I was going to give him. This added unnecessary stress to my day. I would never use them again after this experience.
GUEST

I don't remember who our DJ was but he did a great job. He didn't play the "don't play list" we prepared, he did play TONS of songs that got our rowdy crowd dancing, he had a really wide range of music and we used it all! He even let us use our wedding CD that we had made with our first dance song on it as he didn't have the version we had. Aside from him drinking some of the untouched champagne classes towards the end of the night (which was a little sketchy) he was great!

We were very pleased with our dj. Davis dj provided great customer service and played all the songs that we requested plus some extra special ones from the dj to us. I especially liked how the dj got everyone on the dance floor.
GUEST

I was not thrilled with Davis DJ- they asked everyone to get up and dance during our first dance song when we had asked them beforehand not to, and they also didn't play the variety of dinner music selections we had hoped for. The music was ok, and it certainly didn't ruin our wedding, but I wouldn't use them again.
GUEST

This was a big concern of mine but Frank was in charge of DJ's and this was his choice so I went with it. Being the insane accountant I am I had spreadsheets and power point presentations galore for my wedding. Davis Deejays dealt well with it. Kevin McCarthy was our DJ and he was great. He kept the dance floor going and kept us right on my timeline which was very important to me. The only hitch was that somehow he was given our do not play list as our playlist. As they were in separate workbooks on my excel spreadsheet I was not thrilled. However, everyone had a good time and though none of my must play songs were played I don't blame Kevin at all. Kevin is an excellent DJ and except for that one mistake things were smooth. Davis Deejays appologized for the inconvenience. They even offered generous compensation for the problem. All in all I'd recommend especially Kevin.
GUEST

Our Davis Deejay saved our wedding. We got married the day after Hurricane Isabell struck Glen Burnie. Our orginally reception hall cancelled our wedding on the morning of our wedding. We didn't have a rehersal due to the horrible weather so we didn't know what to do at the ceremony. Our DJ told us where to stand and when to walk down the asle. He acted as our wedding planner as well as our DJ. After the ceremony was over everyone danced the night away with the great music he kept going into the wee hours of the night. Our wedding was a success due to our wonderful Davis DJ.
GUEST

My guests rocked to the great music supplied by the dj and did not want the party to end.
I found Bill Davis of Davis DeeJays to be a refreshing change from the normal DJ. He is innovative, creative and totally professional. He plays great music and keeps the wedding on schedule and organized. He really worked with the other professionals at the wedding to make the evening enjoyable for all.
He told a Love Story about the couple. Different songs were incorporated in the story and the whole room was smiling.
We did a wedding a few weeks ago at the Embassy Suite with one of Davis Deejays, The music selection was so good that after we finished installing the chair covers and sashes, we did not want to leave!! I highly recommend Davis Deejays to anyone who planning a REAL party!
Davis Deejays offers professional and quality DJ service. In April, we worked with Tony for a wedding at the Baltimore World Trade Center. Tony was prompt, attentive, and very professional. My client gave Tony a strict playlist and as the bride wished, he only played the songs from her list. As a professional DJ he realized, that her playlist wasn't popular with the guests, so he made an announcement for the guests to make song requests. Once they started requesting songs the dance floor was packed!! I'd recommend and use Davis Deejays for future events.
