I love Brett and Motor City HDJ! The DJ is one of the most important parts of the wedding reception, and I found the best company for the job when I was recommended Motor City HDJ! Brett was the life of the party, and was even out on the dance floor showing the crowd how to do all the crazy dances! I will definitely recommend them to everyone that needs a DJ!

I simply don't have the vocabulary to say just how wonderful Brett with Motor City HDJ was for our wedding. Brett got our reluctant crowd out on the dance floor, and kept my husband and I updated and checked in with us to make sure everything was going well and we were happy. We had complete confidence long before our wedding day that everything would be handled and go smoothly and that's exactly how our day went off. Brett was the perfect DJ for us!

Brett is an awesome DJ and very professional! The music and dancing experience at our wedding was perfect! He is helpful with picking out songs and makes the planning process as simple as possible. Every song that we chose was played which was a big plus! I would definitely recommend Motor City HDJ for future events!

Brett was the DJ on our wedding last august 31st and he was absolutely amazing! all of my guests were on the dance floor dancing and having FUN! like seriously, music was great... his voice on the mic was fantastic... everybody loves him! Thank you Brett! our wedding reception went really great and smooth because of him. he is very professional. even before the wedding, he was just one text away! he replies to all of my texts on time... even during the wedding day while i was on the limo at the church! lol. Brett was great to work with--he was always available and very easy to get in touch with. His online system of picking out songs and mapping out the evening made things very easy. He really kept the flow of things moving along which was great since I would often get sidetracked. I would recommend him to anyone

He did such an amazing job. During the planning process, Bret was flexible and fast to respond to my emails. He always made time for me. We met before the wedding to talk about what kind of music we wanted at our wedding. Bret was able to give us suggestions and guide us based on his experience.

We were able to keep him updated on the timeline of the reception/music choices through the Motor City HDJ website. It has a great planning page and also you can pick "must play" and "do NOT play" songs so that he knows what your style is.

Once we got to our reception, the lights and sounds were absolutely amazing!! We did the standard first dance and father-daughter dance, but after that Bret transformed our reception into CLUB SZABO!!! The dance floor was occupied at all times. We had the perfect mix of old and new. We did have a lot of younger (20-30yrs) guests, so Bret pumped up the jams and kept us all dancing!

Everyone I talked to complimented us on the music and told us how FUN our wedding was. I totally contribute this to the DJ and his stellar performance! You can't go wrong with Motor City HDJ!

My friend from high school works for Motor City HDJ and was able to DJ our wedding. Tom was very professional during the wedding and played tons of music that kept everyone dancing all night. My daddy/ daughter dance was an old song that he actually had a copy of! He was very nice and polite to our guests and the volume of the music was perfect for our ballroom.

Brett is THE BEST!!!! It's hard to put into words how absolutely overly satisfied we were with him as our DJ! He was very responsive, flexible, FUN, and an all around great guy! He played every single song we requested and avoided our only "do not play" with no issues! He was so attentive and active with every aspect of our wedding night that I knew we were in great hands. He made sure to keep my guests on the dance floor by reading the vibe they were giving off. I have had SO many guests from our wedding ask me for his contact info because they enjoyed themselves so much. All in all, he was OUR FAVORITE VENDOR!!! Book with Brett or miss out on the greatest DJ you could have! We love you Brett!!!!

Brett is so much fun. He kept the dance floor busy all night and even came out to dance with us a few times. When a huge storm came rolling in an hour before our ceremony was suppose to start we decided to start it 30 minutes early throwing everyone off schedule, Brett got the speaker and microphone set up within 5 minutes so we could have our perfect ceremony outside. If I ever need a dj again I will be calling Brett.

My fiance and I were at my cousins' wedding in the Detroit area when we came across Motor City HDJ. We liked what we heard and the way Brett presented himself, so we talked to him a little bit at the wedding. And then a little bit more via e-mail and phone calls.

One of the big things that we liked about Motor City HDJ was that they would not charge us for travel to our wedding in West Branch, 2.5 hours from where he was located. Even after I moved to West Branch and Brett wanted to sit down and meet with me, he was willing to meet me in Frankenmuth, half way from my house to where he was located.

Another big thing we liked was that the music was not too loud that you had to yell at someone sitting next to you to have a conversation. We have been to many weddings since we heard Motor City HDJ and the music was too loud.

When my fiance and I met with him, it was at our convenience, in a place that we had chosen. When we got to the coffee shop he explained everything that was in the contract so we understood everything.

The website that they use is great! You are able to set up a timeline for your event, tell who is involved in the event, and also make a must play and do not play list. I was also able to tell him everything we wanted and didn't want and he did everything we wanted. We allowed people to make requests at our wedding, but Brett told us that if we didn't want people requesting song he would have not taken any requests.

Brett was very good with contacting us about the music and everything else that was going on with the wedding, not just the music aspect. We had a lot of bumps along the way while planning our wedding but NONE of the problems we had were form Motor City HDJ.

We really liked his personality and the way he related to my fiance though the whole process. He was just a fun person to be around and work with. We would totally recommend Motor City HDJ to anyone who is planning an event where they are looking for a DJ.

Motor City HDJ is an amazing company to work with. As a bride, there is bound to be stress and last minute changes...it was so nice to have a vendor that was consistent, true to his word, and did an amazing job of providing the soundtrack to one of the most important days of your life! Brett was an EXCELLENT choice for our wedding. From the get-go he was enthusiastic, excited, and determined that we would have a great time at our wedding... and we did!

There were two things about working with Brett that really made an impression on me; his communication and willingness to do whatever we needed of him. I always knew that if I needed anything I could just text him and it would be taken care of. Brett wanted to ensure that we worried about NOTHING the day of our wedding and he did a fantastic job at that. He was always checking in with us throughout the night, but not so much that it was annoying. He energized the dance floor when it was starting to get slow and he kept the night running smoothly!

If I were to plan a wedding all over again I would most definitely book Brett... he was outstanding!

We booked our wedding with Brett quite a few months in advance and brett stayed in touch through all the months heading up to the wedding we didn't have much for music picked out and we let brett choose a lot of it and he did an amazing job and put together all the music you could think of my husband and family are huge Michigan fans and he kept them up to time on the score and even played the fight song which made them vary happy also brett even came down hung out with everyone socialized with the guest which made us happy because he was not ignoring the guest we had a great time with motor city hdj and would recommend

Well where do we start...Our experience with Brett from Motor City HDJ was beyone amazing!! Brett is a professional, friendly, entertaining, energetic, MOST AMAZING DJ any bride and groom could ever ask for. Our reception went smooth as it possibly could and we thank Brett for this. He made sure we were on time with eveyrthing we had planned for our reception and we got it all in, thanks Brett for making sure we didn't miss anything. I tell everyone about Motor City HDJ and hope other brides read this and choose the best!! I have been to many wedding this year, and no DJ compared to Brett. Our guests are STILL talking about him and our wedding was one month ago. The other awesome thing about him is, we have gained a new friend out of this whole experiece. It has been fun and enjoyable working with someone like Brett. Hope others read this and give him a call. They will be SO happy they did. I've put off writing this review for a long time because I couldn't figure out what to say. There were a lot of great things about working with Brett, including his flexibility in providing sound in multiple spaces, his interactive website, and his price point. However, there were some things that I wish were a little different. For example, he definitely had a bigger personality and more of an entertainer feel than was presented in our initial conversations. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not quite what I wanted. I also spent a lot of time choosing music for our reception without going over board (meaning I didn't pick out music to fill the entire event); however, not all of the songs I picked out were played. This was kind of a bummer for me, but honestly, I think everyone at the wedding/reception still had a blast.

So, in the end, I would recommend Brett but I would just suggest you make sure that you're on the same page re: personality and music. Since I was planning my wedding from across the country, Brett and I unfortunately didn't have a lot of chances to sync up.

Brett was an awesome DJ. Not only did he play the music but was very involved throughout the entire evening, acting as MC and kept things moving as they should be. I would recommend Brett/Motor City HDJ to anyone having a wedding reception, backyard BBQ, etc. He was just what we needed on our very important day!!!!

I came across MotorCityHDJ on Yelp, where I opened a thread looking for an affordable DJ in the Detroit area. Their services came highly recommended, stating they had a ton of experience and were all-around nice guys.

I was already on the fence about having a DJ as it was. We were having an afternoon wedding and were trying to keep costs low. The reception was only 3.5 hours long... I needed a good price in order to actually book someone.

I already had a few quotes and wasn't impressed with any of the prices, so what did I have to lose? I went to their website to do some research and gave them a call.

I got Brett, who was incredibly friendly over the phone. He totally understood our situation about having a DJ but gave us hope that there's good DJs out there willing to give a good price on a Sunday wedding.

We met him at a local Starbucks to sign the agreement. He went over every section of the contract in detail so we completely understood what he was responsible for and what we were responsible for. And he was incredibly friendly. His personality type gets along with everyone. I love people like that.

He accepted payment through Paypal, which was incredibly convenient for us. His website was really intuitive, with detailed forms for us to fill out with details about the ceremony, the timeline of the reception and even a music form so we could choose what songs we wanted him to play. On one of the forms, I made it clear what music I didn't want to hear and he totally stuck with that at the reception.

One thing I totally appreciated was how Brett was willing to do the outdoor music preceding the ceremony for no extra charge. We were having an extremely short ceremony, so I just wanted music to lead us down the aisle. We offered to pay extra but he said it wasn't a big deal. How sweet is that?

Up until the day of the wedding, Brett stayed in perfect contact with me. He even called me the day of the wedding to make sure I was staying calm (rain on my wedding day when the ceremony was supposed to be outside... of course I wasn't calm.) But it was a nice gesture. The ceremony was moved inside and Brett was awesome with the change of plans. He still played our processional music, jazzy music during dinner and finally dance music after dinner was served.

One detail we totally loved was that Brett wore a pink and purple tie so he matched our wedding colors! Small detail that made a big difference.

Everyone told me they loved our DJ. Some people even thought he was a personal friend of ours because he was so friendly and personable while on the mic. He played the exact music that I wanted to hear at my reception... classic rock with current dance hits mixed in. It's like he knew me my whole life with the way he nailed my musical preferences. He did perfect.

I couldn't say enough nice things about MotorCityHDJ. They turned us from an "on the fence" couple to "we totally needed a DJ" couple.

Brett did an AWESOME job!! VERY easy to work with and did things JUST the way we wanted. Was flexible about meeting times during the planning phase and helped keep the wedding on track time-wise on the day of the event. Everyone was on the dance floor all night!! GREAT!!

We used Brett as our DJ. He was awesome.?I was pretty picky about the kind of DJ I wanted.I really wanted my husband and I to feel that "connection" with him.He was funny,professional,on point and made us feel at ease.We received a lot of compliments from our guest on him too.Not to mention they have very competitive pricing.

This DJ helped me out in a last minute panic pinch, and I couldn't have asked for a better choice. He was prompt, communicated well, and did what he said he would do. I also had some special requests that were different than a normal DJ event and he met the requests beautifully. db productions was very friendly and helpful in making a stress free wedding day. i was impressed with all the things that were done to go the extra mile and add peronal touches for us as a couple. The price was unbeatable. I was shocked at how much was done for the money we spent. It could not have been more perfect. Professionalism was perfect and nothing was overlooked. Everything was mapped out perfectly prior to that day and everything went smoothly without a problem. Several emails and meetings took place prior to the wedding to ensure there would be no mistakes and all the music and expectations were met. I would recommend from a brides perspective to use bd productions for your wedding day or any event requiring a dj. I had a blast and a perfect wedding day!!

Brett was a phenomenal DJ! It's refreshing to meet a wedding vendor who is fun to work with yet so organized and flexible. I only had to tell Brett the entertainment vibe I wanted for the wedding and he did the rest! Friday started off as a HORRIBLE day. Although it was the day of my wedding, there was tons to do and not enough time left. As the day wore on things got worse!! Anything that could go wrong went wrong. I was running late, the food still needed to be picked up and it looked like the day was gonna be ugly and dreary for an outdoor ceremony! I swear I was about to forget the whole thing since Ruell and I had already signed the paperwork and were already technically married.....and then Brett my DJ called. I guess he could tell that I wasn't doing well because he cracked a few jokes and told me not to worry, that he'd take care of everything. He let me know that he had gotten to the site earlier than anticipated and that everything there was running smoothly and that I should just take my time and not worry since they couldn't start without me.

He was calm and amazing and when I finally got there and I walked down the aisle everything went off without a hitch just like Brett said it would. Even though I told him at the last minute that I needed him to have music outside as well as inside (when originally I'd only told him inside), he totally switched everything around to accomodate me and did it so seamlessly I didn't even realize that he was setting things up and breaking things down!! I wouldn't expect that sort of accomodating spirit from anyone, especially someone who charged so little!

The msuic he played was awesome and even though people were tired since it was an evening/night ceremony at the end of a work day, he kept spirits up, played great music and made Friday the best day of my life!!

Ladies, as the brides this is supposed to be our day, yet everyone is asking us questions and we are being pulled here and there. We have tons of stuff on our minds and we have more things to think about than God ever intended one person to think about! By hiring Brett, you have one less thing to worry about. I mean not only did he make the DJ portion of my wedding run smoothly but he even calmed me down when I thought I'd go crazy. We can add counseling brides to his list of accolades! (And his going rate is much better than most shrinks!)

The DJ portion has by far been the EASIEST and certainly the least expensive part of my wedding. Brett takes all the guess work out of everything. From day one you will find that in Brett you not only have a great DJ but you also have a potential life long friend. He keeps up with and in touch with you, he does all the work and responds almost immediately to emails and phone calls. He's hilarious, he's accomodating, he's flexible, he's calm, he's patient with the crazy whims of a neurotic bride and he goes with the flow. All in all, Brett Cummins is hands down the best part of any brides' wedding preparations.

The night was fantastic. The process from start to finish was absolutely perfect. He was inexpensive, flexible and really kept on top of the game. He was able to find all our music even though some of our requests were absolutely off the wall. He arrived early, he set up quickly and stayed even longer than he was requested. And he even packed up quickly.

Absolutely no complaints, nothing but cheers and accolades. He's A-1, top notch, all that and a bag of chips, he's just that deal. I would recommend him to my best friend, my brother and anyone else.

Motor City HDJ are the real deal. I have worked with Brett on several events and all I can say is wow. The energy and good times he created was amazing. Brett was even out on the floor with everyone showing them how to do certain dances. He is very involved with his clients and clients' guests and you can tell how much he enjoys what he does.
