David Orndorf Photography

I would highly recommend David Orndorf for your wedding photography. We live in Madison and he was more than willing to meet to prepare for the wedding so that it was convenient for us. David is very down-to-earth and easy to work with. He is a professional that has been doing wedding photography for years and knows more venues and where to go to get the best photos. The day of the wedding, everyone commented on how well he got all the kids to smile and remembered their names. Also, David had lots of great tips for the groom and I to ensure the pictures were candid and natural looking, which we appreciated. We had a ton of great photos and got them back very quickly. The candid / artistic photos were great. I appreciated getting the digital photos, because we decided to make our own album online. Even though they were just disks, they came well presented in a leather case to keep over the years. Compared to other photographers, the full package of David's great customer service, awesome photos, having the digital files, etc.; the value is incredible.

There a lot of photographers out there who want thousands of dollars to shoot your wedding. My husband and I were adamant about having ONE photographer who was not a paparazzi, not into getting dozens of posed shots, someone to just document what happened - a non-traditional wedding photographer. I also didn't want to order an album or a certain amount of prints - I love putting photobooks together online, and wanted the digitals to do that!
Dave fit the bill to a tee. He's a photojournalist by trade and does weddings to make up for his own awful wedding photographer! He was calm and professional, called when he said he would, emailed me whenever I had questions, showed up the day of the wedding ready to go! He was completely non-invasive - you know how some wedding photographers seem to be up in everyone's business the whole day? Not Dave - we forgot he was there sometimes! Everyone at the wedding just raved about how great he was - patient, great with kids, and almost anticipating everyone's needs. It was a hectic day, and he just rolled with it - my matron of honor was impressed with how he knew everyone in the bridal party's name! Awesome.
The pictures were online in LESS THAN A WEEK! I've never, ever seen that quick of a turnaround! And they were absolutely perfect - a documentary of our day in pictures. The digitals and archive set came to us boxed and labeled with screened images from our day - so professional and easy to use!
I cannot recommend David Orndorf Photography enough for your wedding - you will not be sorry!

We were thrilled with your work! The pictures turned out wonderfully and you were able to capture the emotions, moments, and details of the day. Thank you for getting all of the details of the reception room, the flowers, place settings, etc. We were so involved with spending time with our friends and family that we were unable to take in all of the details- they will be great to have in our archive for years to come. You were extremely professional, easy going and so great to work with. We truly appreciated how quick and efficient you were- it allowed us plenty of time at the cocktail hour to talk to friends we hadn't seen in years, yet you still were able to capture plenty of diverse pictures. Dave was great to work with! Quick with the pictures, before you know it there are 5 shots taken and all are great. I found Dave on a last minute recommendation because my photographer cancelled... lucky us, Dave had someone cancel on him for the same date! He was fun and flexible, and willing to to what we asked. We had a very large wedding party, large families, and lots of children. The photographer was patient and flexible. The pictures were gorgeous, modern, and very reasonably priced. Also, David had our wedding pictures available online less than a week after the wedding. The discs were sent less than two weeks later.

I absolutely loved having Dave as our wedding photographer! Having a good photographer was one of the main things that I truly cared about when I began planning our wedding. After researching photographers in Chicago, the packages I preferred were WAY out of my price range. My friend sent me Dave's website and I loved his pics, style and his prices! He is very talented and I could not be happier with our pictures. We got married on one of the hottest days of the year in a church that had no AC and you could not tell through the pics that we were sweating, which is great! At the reception he took me and my husband outside to take pics as the sun was setting and the pictures are just amazing! He is very unobtrusive but at the same time he was always there when I wanted a certain picture to be taken. Not only is he an amazing photographer, he is also very down to earth and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Dave to anyone looking for a photographer!

We absolutely loved working with Dave. As a person, he was honest and efficient with the business details (meeting with us prior to the wedding, getting our photographs to us a week later, etc.) We really appreciated the fact that Dave was "to the point" with everything because it really made it so easy for us. On the wedding day, Dave was so in the moment with us (yet we barely noticed him!), and this is definitely seen through all that he captured. His photographs are natural and genuinely reflect all the happy moments of the wedding day. That day goes by in such a blur...by looking at all of Dave's photography, it reminds us how special it truly was. We would most definitely recommend Dave in the highest regard!

Dave did a great job, very professional and made everyone feel comfortable. The photos came out beautiful, and it was nice to see them up on the website before we left for our honeymoon! We received our CD's with the pictures right away when we came back, so now we can start printing them off for ourselves and friends and family! I would recommend him to any bride.

My experience with David Orndorf was fantastic from day one. From being extremely responsive when I first reached out to him to his superior organization throughout the planning process and especially the day of the wedding; he is a true professional and artist.

The photos are just gorgeous! Dave was able to capture the day perfectly and looking at some of the shots I am certain he must also be a magician. We are so pleased with the photographs and can't thank Dave enough for all his help in capturing our special day. He was kind, friendly and he was excellent at making everyone feel comfortable so that both the candid and portrait photos appeared natural and fun which is exactly what we had wanted.

The photos were available online by the time we got home from our honeymoon and we received our copies in a beautiful package shortly after. We are really enjoying married life so far and after a month I am still looking at the pictures almost daily! Family and friends that we shared the online album with are just raving about how beautiful they are!

We would definitely recommend Dave to anyone looking for an amazing wedding photographer.
