We had a great experience with the Cake Sisters. They were one of the few bakeries that we found that had a really yummy red-velvet cake, at no additional charge. I took them a picture of what we wanted it to look like and they made it look even more beautiful than the picture! When we walked into the reception and saw the cake, we both gasped. They asked me to bring them a swatch of my wedding dress fabric so they could match the frosting to my dress...WHAT!??! Amazing attention to detail with these ladies!
We also got our groom's cake from them and it was SO creative and unique. They are very easy to work with and very reasonably priced.
I think they are a great choice for Pasadena weddings as there is no delivery fee.
OH, and the red velvet wedding cake was some of the best cake I've ever had!
these ladies are AWESOME! everything they do is custom, so your money is very well spent here. they were amazing in working with us, and were very reasonable. we had a 6" little cake for us to cut, and 96 cupcakes, all for $225. they even rented us a stand at no charge, just a deposit! highly recommend them. :)
we chose these flavors:
our cake: vanilla cake with raspberry cheesecake filling and whipped cream frosting (so light!)
cupcakes: marble cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate piping

The cake was absolutely WONDERFUL. It was so yummy and they decorated it for us and when we wanted to two cake flavors we got cake flavors. The only downside is it can be really hard to get a cake- it needs to be ordered MONTHS in advance.

Wonderful to work with! Everyone loved our cake - and they even made us a complimentary Anniversary cake! I would definitely recommend!
The cupcakes we ordered from deCroupet were AWESOME!
The look: For our wedding, we rented a cupcake tree from them and ordered six dozen cupcakes. Since our wedding theme was the chinese 'double happiness' symbol, I printed out the character and asked them to use it as the design on the cupcakes. I was a little worried as to how they would turn out....but all my worries were put to rest when I saw the cupcakes and they looked BEAUTIFUL!
The taste: Instead of having the usual chocolate or white cake, deCroupet's cupcakes are basically miniature versions of their cakes. You can get any flavor you want. My husband and I went in for a cake tasting before our wedding and fell in love with their marble cake with bavarian chocolate chips and cream cheese icing as well as their vanilla cake with rasberry mousse filling. THEY WERE AWESOME!

deCroupet was recommended to me by another Athenaeum bride. we ended up getting a marble, three tier cake w/ strawberry mousse+fresh strawberry filling, whip cream icing, and floral lacy decoration in ivory buttercream. it was beautiful, tasty, and just happened to match my wedding dress ;) my husband's grandmother's birthday was on our wedding date, so we also got their chocolate cake + expresso mousse + chocolate ganache icing.
service: janine and cheryl make a great team and they're very competent. i changed our cake from yellow to marble, and it was easy. i added the chocolate cake the week before the wedding and they made it very easy to add. both cakes were delivered on time, and they did the decor for the cake table. awesome. the cake was even prettier and tastier than i expected!
price: $260 for 6", 9", 12" wedding cake. plus, they did the flowers inbetween the layers for free. all we had to do was drop off the roses on fri, the day before. didn't need to worry about buckets or anything. so cool. also, no delivery fee to pasadena!
for ref, we also tasted at cakery bakery (a very close 2nd), susina, jakqui's, porto's, and bee's knees.
