We got to taste about 10 pieces of their sample cakes. They were all delicious! We ended up picking a style that they have available in their book, but we could have brought in a design too. The three tiered mable cake with red roses was beautiful and everyone liked it.
I got a couple endorsements from a few different friends of mine who all had weddings and both had used Denny’s Fifth Avenue Bakery & Wedding Cakes. I got the cake that we desired and all of the work that they put in it was worth all that we paid for the cake. The cake tasted really good and the service was good to. I have used Denny’s Fifth Ave Bakery & Wedding Cakes since the wedding, as I recently used them for a birthday cake so I guess they have earned my business for a lifetime.
We wanted a cake that was pretty and that was also not so traditional looking. I went to Denny’s 5th Avenue with my mother for a consultation, and I was really happy to see that along with the more traditional ‘wedding bells’ cake, they also had the cute cup cake towers that I think are really popular now. We spoke with Kevin, the owner, for almost an hour, and he was great! I was really happy that such a nice person would be making the cake. We went with two layers of cupcakes, with small pink and yellow icing flowers, and then with a top layer of a ten-inch cake, just so that we could have something to slice for the photographs. The cake was tasty, and by the end of the evening all the cupcakes were gone!

The woman that helped us select our cake was very friendly, we got a beautiful cake for a very reasonable price, they were wonderful about delivering it on time and to the right location (the drop-off point was a little hard to find). The cake was really yummy and, rather than making us freeze the top layer, they'll give us a free round cake on our one year anniversary. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

As of August 1st 2006, we acquired Blackey’s Bakery in North East Minneapolis. We produce all of their pastry line and a variety of their breads.

Denny’s 5th Avenue Bakery was started in 1969. For nearly thirty years, Kevin’s father Denny dedicated himself to providing his customers with excellent service and high quality products by utilizing time tested, developed recipes.
In 1998 the family business was passed on to the current owner and next generation, Kevin Hirman, who advanced the bakery and continued to grow and expand the company. Since 2006, the company has doubled in size and flourishes in both the retail and wholesale industries.
Focusing on the mission of Denny’s Bakery and the time-honored recipes which were developed decades ago, the bakery continues to grow and expand regionally, yet still keeps all of the elements of a neighborhood bakery alive and thriving.
Kevin’s goal is that each customer’s experience is enjoyable and memorable and brings them back to Denny’s Bakery, not only for its hand made and custom products, but also for the caring, customer service attention each customer receives at the counter.
