Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield

Let me begin by saying that our experience was excellent until our wedding day. Our wedding was scheduled for the morning of 9/29/2012, which unknowingly to us was the same exact time the Color Me Rad 5k was to take place right next to our wedding. Lucky for the runners, they received a courtesy email warning them of the traffic getting into the facility. We did not receive a single call and ran into miles of traffic in all directions as there is only one way out and one way in. With 10s of thousands of runners (we saw a bib number of 21,756 so there were at least that many there!) and all of our wedding party, we did not reach our part of the gardens until 1hour and 15 minutes after our start time. We got there 15 mintues before our wedding was supposed to take place! The caterer is friends with Mary and Chris, our gardens coordinators, and they were not even aware- what usually took them 15 minutes took them an hour and a half. Needless to say, we had a horrible experience. Our biggest issue was that NO ONE let us know. NO ONE approached us at all the day of our wedding. NO ONE apologized to us or offered a resolution. We had guests turned away from our wedding. We can never get that back. Over a month later, they want to give us back the 1-2 hours we missed at the beginning. Wow. Really?

The location is beautiful, and Mary was great to work with. Book early! We booked in May 2011, and there were only 2 Saturdays left for summer 2012.

Most AMAZING place ever! Chris and Mary were the nicest ladies to work with. The venue is just absolutely beautiful. My family and friends from out of town were ready to get a moving a van and move to Colorado after seeing this place. The venue came with an inside and outside option, since you never know what the weather out here is going to be like, so I had no worries the day of my wedding. I would book every party I have here!

Chatfield Botanic Gardens was the perfect place for us to have our wedding. We are fun loving, outdoorsy people who wanted a unique, outdoor, rustic wedding. The venue is set up in a way to make it a memorable experience; we had our ceremony at an outdoor gazebo and then the reception in the cute old barn that was a short walk away. They provided cute wooden signs and had some interesting rentals available (like a charming vintage truck). This venue is better for smaller groups of people, we had around 50 and it was so perfect and cozy for that amount. The reception at the barn had the dancing outside on the patio and that was really fun. They are upfront and clear with their expectations and procedures so they are reliable with what they say, they are also a working farm/garden so they are a bit more strict with their rules. But because it is a botanical garden it had a lot of interesting places to take pictures and for people to explore while we are getting our bride and groom pictures.

We loved our venue. They did a wonderful job of making sure that everything went how it was supposed to go. The staff was great. It's a beautiful place to have your wedding/reception at. The only thing that bothered me was, there was no mention that they have quite a bit of misquitos. So we did not prepare for it. Which was terrible.

Chatfield was amazing! It was so beautiful. They do an amazing job keeping the grounds up so that it looks like something right out of a storybook. The staff there is also super nice and accommodating. Everyone at our wedding mentioned several times what a beautiful location it was. We loved it!

Overall, they did a very good job. Friendly staff, etc. The only thing is, I would definitely make plans for mosquito control. They had sprayed earlier in the day, but there was a heavy rainstorm before the wedding, then the sun came out and so did the bugs. We had bottles of mosquito repellant for the guests as well, which I highly recommend.

We felt very lucky to reserve Chatfield for our August 2010 wedding. The space was absolutely beautiful-perfect if you are looking for an outdoor ceremony with indoor/outdoor options for a reception. We got a lot of compliments from guests who had never visited Colorado before and enjoyed the wide open green spaces. Plus, it was a great value for the money. I think their wedding business is really ramping up quickly as brides find about the good value, so we had some trouble with responsiveness and communication. But overall, I would highly recommend them based on location, flexibility, and price alone.

The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield was the perfect setting for our wedding! It was casual, but beautiful. The staff was flexible and easy to work with. And the gorgeous flowers surrounding the barn provided the perfect backdrop for photos.

The site was beautiful, it looked breath taking in the pictures. In my many hours of research it was one of the most beautiful sites with the best price. The facility coordinator was very friendly and flexible, but she was a bit difficult to get a hold of and didn't always reply.

This venue was absolutly BEAUTIFUL! It was my favorite part of the wedding (besides the actual getting married part of course!). Chris was a breeze to work with from the begining through the entire planning process. She was honest and up-front and flexable and laid back. All of the things that a stressed out bride needs! I would recommend this venue to anyone!

Denver Botanic Gardens has always been a favorite venue of ours to work at for many years now. The staff is always prepare and ready to go with a great level of communication.
Highly recommended on our end when it comes to sitting down with couples to discuss planning, having the best night ever and showing guests what Denver has to offer.
