Derco did a beautiful job with our rings, and the service was nice and friendly. And I don't think that you can beat their prices on diamonds in the Bay Area.

We bought the diamond through them and decided to use another designer for the ring. There's no competition when it comes to price and selection. We looked at MANY stores, and Derco's price was consistently lower by about 10% to 15%. We bought the diamond at the SF store, not the Santana Row location. 5 stars for price.

I had my engagement ring and a pair of earrings custom made at Derco (in the Gift Center). The process was a bit frustrating, and took much longer than anticipated. But they redeemed themselves when I finally got the finished products, which I absolutely LOVE! You also can't beat the prices.

We checked out the location in the Gift Center as well as the SF Shopping Center. We ended up purchasing from the SF Shopping Center probably because it was closer to home. They specialize in custom orders and did a wonderful job on my custom wedding band. We also got my husband's palladium band there. If you don't feel like you have to have platinum, palladium is a great alternative that looks like platinum and even shares similar chemical properties including hardness. It's a lot less expensive than platinum and does not fade like white gold. In general, we found Derco to be significantly less than competitors which explains why they wouldn't negotiate much at all. Very satisfied with price.

We did have to follow up multiple times to ensure that the bands were on time because the package did not go out when it was supposed to, so I felt the service was ok. They mailed the rings to my mom who bought them for us as a gift. Because she was out of state, she did not have to pay sales tax.

Now I'm in the market for diamond stud earrings. The first Derco quote I got was very reasonable. Then they told me a different price during follow up conversations. I got fed up and bought a pair of diamonds on BlueNile and will just do the custom setting at Derco. Update: they misquoted me on the custom setting and I ended up paying over 3x what I was expecting to pay. They really have issues with quoting properly verbally. I'd get it in writing.

They had the rings ready early and they looked beautiful. They cleaned them just before the wedding. The only complaint I have is that one of the people working there did not size my husband's ring correctly. I think that was more of an issue with the person than with the company though.

Can't say I found better prices on diamonds anywhere else. They are also able to do custom designs. Finished by the wedding despite a short time frame. The service on the custom designs is not very speedy. We really had to badger them to make sure it was done on time. Devon at the San Jose location is the friendliest we found to work with. Just beware that there's a reason you're getting a low price; they can take their time getting things done and aren't the best at returning phone calls.

We went to the original Derco in the SF Gift Center and got the e-ring, wedding bands, and my wedding saphire diamond necklace from there. Our sales person was very helpful and not pushy. We were recommended this place by my cousin who heard it from her friends. It's definitely word of mouth that has gotten people to this jeweler. Because of that, we were confident in buying from a reputable jeweler.

I've never been to the Santana Row store but heard that the prices are equivalent to the SF Gift Center one, which is surprising to me since SF Gift Center is for wholesalers and the one in Santana Row is in an upscale shopping mall.

Once you buy a ring from them, you can exchange in the future for the full value of the ring if you should decide to upgrade. They offer lifetime complimentary cleaning and ring checking at any Derco stores.

They have a location in San Fran too and they are amazing!! I get all my jewlery there!
