i can't say enough good things about Designs in Sugar! i have always wanted my wedding cake to be simple, but to involve edible flowers - i'd had a hard time finding someone in the memphis area who could pull of the types of flowers i wanted without them looking too fake, but from the moment i met Myra and took a look at her awesome portfolio of work, i KNEW she was the PERFECT person to make my wedding cake dreams come true! her sugar flowers are unbelievable - in fact, i spent a lot of time at my reception convincing people (even people in the wedding planning business who see these kinds of things often!) that they weren't actually real flowers! and the cake itself is hands down the most delicious cake i've ever tasted in my life! prior to picking my flavors for my cake, my family and i ordered several small sample cakes (and myra was such a saint to make these for us!) and had a "tasting party," to try to narrow down which flavors i liked, but in all honesty, it just made my decision HARDER (ended up with three different flavors - all equally incredible)!! everything she makes is like a little taste of heaven, and her variety of flavors are so much more fun and interesting than your average run-of-the-mill wedding cake flavors that you find at every bakery in town!!!! people who attended my wedding have been talking nonstop about how beautiful and delicious the cake was, and i know that some were even sneaking leftovers out of the reception! Myra is also exactly the kind of person you need to work with on what will be the most important cake you ever have! she is very professional, dependable, accommodating, friendly, creative and calming! i had a lot of things go haywire in my wedding planning process, but i always knew that no matter what, my cake would be perfect! the moment i walked into my reception and saw it, it took my breath away! i wish i'd been able to see her and give her a hug that day, because she truly helped make my day extra special....if i could give her 10 stars instead of 5, i absolutely would!!!! definitely check out Designs in Sugar for your wedding cake! you'd be crazy not to!!!!

We knew from the moment we first met Myra that she was the perfect person to create my daughter’s wedding cake. She was just as excited about it as we were and it was obvious that she wanted to make sure that every detail was exactly right. Not only was the cake amazingly beautiful but the taste was amazingly delicious. We would, without a doubt, recommend Myra and look forward to the opportunity to work with her again in the future.

Myra was the perfect cake designer! Her work was OUTSTANDING! She is very professional and detail-oriented, yet incredibly easy to work with. Myra surpassed any and all expectations! She was the one vendor I never had to worry about. From the first meeting I felt she really visualized what we wanted for our cakes. The day of the wedding she was early and the setup was fantastic. The bride�s cake was pure elegance and the groom�s cake really caught in great detail the personality and fun side of us as a couple. We had different flavors for the bride cake tiers and the groom�s cake and I can say they were ALL moist and delicious. I had guests tell me they got 3 different slices of cake and I am still getting compliments both the look and taste of them. Myra is an artist! Her attention to detail and organization make for a great vendor!!!

Absolutely phenomenal. Myra is a professional on all levels- she is delightful to work with, enthusiastic, creative and highly attentive to detail. If you want the best cake and service in Memphis, Designs in Sugar is THE place to go. For our Memphis wedding party, Myra created a three-tiered masterpiece, incorporating the colors from our wedding (pink, black and creme) in fondant stripes and amazing hand-made flowers. The cake was gorgeous AND delicious. My husband, who is NOT a sweets person, had at least three slices at the reception and snacked on what little leftovers we had before I could get to them. He's even looking forward to eating the top tier in a couple of weeks for our anniversary! Myra's cake was a focal point at our party in Memphis; people STILL talk about how beautiful and delicious it was. I cannot wait for my next opportunity to have another cake from Designs in Sugar!

MYRA PROVIDED THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WEDDING CAKE. THE CAKE WAS A GIFT FOR MY GOOD FRIEND'S SON AND NEW WIFE. THEY ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE CAKE. THE DESIGN WAS BEAUTIFUL AND THE CAKE WAS SO GOOD. SHE DELIVERED THE CAKE OUTSIDE HER NORMAL DELIVERY AREA AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND ON DETAIL AND ARTWORK. THE FLOWERS LOOKED SO REAL. EVERYBODY COMMENTED ON HOW BEAUTIFUL THE CAKE WAS. MYRA IS THE BEST! I PLAN TO RECCOMEND HER TO EVERYBODY I KNOW. I HOPE TO DO MORE BUSINESS WITH HER FOR SPECIAL EVENTS AND GATHERINGS.

I absolutely Loved the stunning anniversary cake that Myra so painstakingly made for us. I had a specific theme in mind for our cake and Myra made it into a reality. Like others who have enjoyed her fabulous cakes, I also had to convince people that the flowers were indeed made from sugar and not real roses.

She is a joy to work with, her attention to detail is perfection itself and the quality of her workmanship is exemplary. We held our anniversary party in a suite at the RiverKing's game and the cake was a complete and total hit of the party. The flavour was amazing and I can't say enough about the design! If there were a scale of one to ten I would give Myra a TEN!

Having never met with Myra she was able to take my vision and expectations and go far beyond when creating my unbelievable wedding cake. I would highly recommend her for any special occasion!

She even saves the top tier for you and your spouse to have to celebrate after the ceremony is over. She spends a great deal of time explaining your options and is very creative with any special requests!

Myra is the BEST!!!! She has incredibly vision with what she does. I was having trouble settling on the overall look for my cake and Myra suggested she replicate my wedding dress. So, scrolling down the front of my 3 tier wedding cake is the replica of the embroidery on my dress! Myra really became a part of the family, not just a vendor. We continue to use her when we have a need; she helped us with our daughter's 1st birthday! You will not regret hiring Myra! :)

We asked for the impossible (complex cake...for an outdoor wedding... in late July... in Memphis humidity) and Myra exceeded our craziest expectations. The whimsical cake was absolutely stunning--more captivating than the original photo. Myra maintained a positive attitude & sense of humor throughout the entire planning & delivery process and handled every detail & precaution. After viewing (& tasting!) previous cakes, we had complete faith in her attention to detail (The contemporary sugar paste flowers took hours to create but so unique and vibrantly colored) and her creative input and she did not disappoint. Not only did she create a work of art that she put her heart & soul into, she also created a decadent chocolate cake that received rave reviews from our guests. She is an amazing artist and I can't wait for another excuse to have her create a cake for us.

It was my daughter's 1st birthday. Her bedroom has a butterfly theme. I wanted a Butterfly cake. My sister-in-law told me she has someone to do the cake. Needless to say, her person could not do a Butterfly cake. Someone told us about Myra. I told her I wanted a Butterfly cake. Myra delivered the cake a day early. Not only early, but decorated in the same colors as my daughter's bedroom (something I did not tell her). I was too out done by it's beauty. However, I have been to several events where the cake was gorgeous but the taste was average. Anyway, after singing "Happy Birthday", the cake was sliced and distributed.....then it started.....everyone was running back to my dining room asking for more cake. I took a bite of my small piece.....I said HOLD-UP! I need to slice an add'l piece for the birthday girl (it was really for me...smile). I cut a huge chunk and hid it. I let the guess enjoy the rest. Hours after the party (and the next day), I was getting phone calls asking if more cake was left. I have NEVER TO THIS DAY had a cake as beautiful and DELICIOUS as Myra's Designs In Sugar. Myra is amazing! I told her what I wanted and what she gave me far exceeded my expectations! My colors were white and black with red accents. She made a four- tier cake in white with the matching scroll design of my wedding invitations. But the most beautiful part of the cake were the red roses! They were absolutely breath-taking! I have them and I plan on putting them in a shadow box to have as a beautiful reminder of my wedding forever! But the cake didn't just look amazing, it TASTED even BETTER! I had people coming up to me for weeks after the wedding and they could not stop talking about how WONDERFUL the cake tasted. I got different flavors for different tiers and people actually told me that even though they were so full, they went back to the line to try a different flavor! She's the best wedding cake baker in the entire U.S.! I love her and I just want to let future brides know, if you're getting married and are looking for a cake baker, GO TO DESIGNS IN SUGAR!!!!!!
