Destination Events was a true find. Casey handled all of the details to ensure we were matched to a DJ that fit our needs. He also helped us rent heating lamps at the last minute when the weather turned bad the morning of our outdoor rehearsal dinner. Our DJ, Tracey, was excellent. He helped us coordinate our music needs all via telephone and email since we lived out of state. He incorporated all of our requests and preferences into our reception music line up and did an incredible job balancing the music with structuring the events for the evening. I would highly recommend them!

Our wedding was at a residence so we rented tables and chairs from Destination Events. Of all the places I called in the Eugene/Springfield area, they definitely had the best prices.
For the most part they were great to work with, which I pretty much did over the phone and by email. The woman I usually spoke with was very friendly, professional and helpful, but sometimes I would call and speak with other employees. No one was ever rude, just not quite as friendly or professional sounding.
A few days before the wedding I realized we wouldn't need as many tables and chairs as I had reserved, so I called to cancel a few. They wouldn't refund any of my money because they would not have time to reassign those rentals, which was kind of annoying but I understood since I was pretty late in telling them.

Casey was a wonderful DJ. He's very personable and helpful and made our event run smoothly and flawlessly. He worked hard all afternoon and night and played great music and found a great balance of playing the requests of family and friends with the music we wanted played. I have no complaints.

My dj, Devon rocked!! He played all the songs we asked and really helped keep our special night on schedule. All the guests had a great time dancing!

The people there are extremely helpful. They have been quick to respond to questions and have made me feel comfortable about doing an "ipod wedding."

The DJ was horrible. He showed up and hour and a half late, in a hawaiian t-shirt without the projection screen that I paid for. So not only did we have to wait for him to start the ceremony, he was not dress how he was suppose to be(suppose to be full suit and tie), he forgot the projection screen to play the slide show we had worked on for along time. Brought the projector....but no screen. He didn't snnounce us when we finally got to the reception area, he didn't gather people for the toast. He was awful! Not worth the thousand dollars my parents spent on him.
Vendor response to review
It has been 2 years since this event, but as I have just discovered the review here, I would like to respond and explain the circumstances of this weddingt. The price Quote of $1150 dollars included the DJ ($650), A dance floor ($250), A video Projector ($100) and Travel charge($200). This event was a 5 hour travel time for us. Way outside of our normal service area. She was still interested in using the service. The DJ gave himself 6 hours to get to the event given the uncertainty of the location. The event was off the beaten path and the directions given us led the DJ straight into construction. We were in communication with the Mother of the bride or brides maid the whole time and they were aware that we were stuck in traffic. The construction was grid lock and he was unable to turn around or get through for 1 and a half hours. After getting through he arrived at the event and went straight to work. Upon arriving he was informed that the photographer had also gotten tied up in the traffic and several of the guests as well. He did arrive in a Hawaiian shirt, but also had his suit and tie with him. Due to time constraints he chose to get set up and running rather then change first. He had music up and running within minutes of arriving. As soon as he was able to, he did change into his shirt and tie. Concerning the projector screen. I doubled checked the order, and there was never a screen ordered. Not every one who orders a projector, orders a screen so this was not unusual to us. The DJ offered to stay late and play as long as they wanted to make up for the lost time. Concerning the announcements that were missed, again due to time constraints, the DJ was unable to set up the dance floor prior to the event as we would normally do. His focus was instead on getting the ceremony running. Because of this he had to set up the floor after the ceremony. While this is not ideal it did need to be done. He was juggling all his duties and trying to meet the needs of the client at the same time. This caused some of the announcements to be delayed or deleted. Unfortunately this was one of those situations where elements out of our control became road blocks (quite literally in this case). Sometimes, however when these elements that are out of our control are combined with a high stress event and time frames that need to be met, it is easier to place the blame on the individual rather then the construction. And once things have already gone amiss, its easy to continue to pile on the individual in the middle of the mess. I debriefed the DJ personally following the event and I believe he was doing everything in his power to rescue and refocus this wedding after the unfortunate late start. It was relayed to me that everyone had a fabulous time once we were able to get music up and running and I received no complaints from the client of any kind after the fact. In fact this is the first I have heard of any appointment. We work hard to cover every detail but road construction is not one we can always plan for. I'm truly sorry if the bride and groom were disappointed with our service but I do believe this is one event where the circumstances were out of our control. As always, it is our goal to make every event a success.

Great bargain and great rentals. We got a valance, table linens, centerpieces, and a chocolate fountain for a great low price. I was disappointed with the chocolate, which came with the fountain. Yummy, but bad texture. But this company is professional, friendly, and so wonderful.

Our DJ was great - even drove all the way to Salem to meet with us prior to the wedding. The day of the wedding he freaked us out by being pretty late - but was there in plenty of time to set up and be ready for the reception...it just wasn't the time we had specified. He was great to work with and did a good job.
Casey at Destination events is a pros pro.His customer service is second to none, the prices are competitive and his DJs are the best in town.I highly recommend Destination Events.
