Diana is brilliant, her photographs are amazing, I am having a tough time writing this because I don't want to understate how thrilled we are with her work. She photographed our wedding in September and even came back the next day to do a pool shoot because I was dying to jump in donning my wedding dress. All of our photos were great, I am having the toughest time deciding which photos to purchase! She will capture who you are in a way that will astound you and at the same time will make sure to hit all of the "classic" wedding shots. Diana is extremely professional and friendly, we felt instantly comfortable with her as though she was an old friend. She will travel, gets photos out to you quickly, 3-4wks for us, and her online ordering system is a snap. And did I mention her work is AMAZING! I cannot wait to see where her talent takes her and cannot wait to work with her again!

I had the pleasure of having Diana photograph our engagement pictures. She is such an amazing photographer and being with her all day was so comfortable and fun. Her flexibility is amazing as we had to reschedule and relocate multiple times due to crazy weather, and each time she happily made time for us! She made us feel really special. The photos she captured are amazing! We get so many compliments about our engagement pictures. I am so pleased with Diana's work and professionalism. Thank you so much Diana! You are awesome!

Diana Maire photographed my wedding and I was so impressed with her level of professionalism and creativity. She is extremely friendly and likeable, which made my husband and I both feel comfortable in front of the camera. She accomodated all of our requests and produced an incredible range of shots for us to choose from. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer in the Bay Area.

We decided to go with Diana Maire Photography for our wedding. Diana was extremely helpful and positive about the entire process, working with my wife and I to decide how traditional or unique we wanted our photos to be. The photos for our engagement session and wedding/reception turned out great and we received them promptly. Perhaps the best part of our experience was Diana’s positive attitude on the day of wedding. She was particularly calming on a day when people's nerves can get the best of them. Thanks Diana!

It was a cool experience working with you Diana. For whatever reason my review posted twice...since Wedding Wire and Project Wedding are linked. Thank you yet again!

Diana is a wonderful photographer she did a beautiful job on our wedding in May 2008 in Stockton, CA. Our wedding album is spectacular. She travels when needed and she is very accommodating to our needs. We now go to her for all our photography needs.
Diana and I have worked together extensively and she is a very talented photographer! I highly recommend her!
I recently had a chance to work with Diana Maire a local wedding photographer. I am a custom wedding dress designer specializing in dresses for the off beat bride. Diana spent hours photographing my design and completely understood my aesthetic.
Before we met, Diana was prepared and scouted out a variety of locations near the Berkeley Marina. She also styled the shoot herself and brought a variety of accessories including a feather hair piece and several necklaces. Diana also directed each shot and knew exactly how she wanted the model to pose. I would recommend Diana to photograph any important event or subject matter she is professional, fun to work with, and hardworking

My goal on your wedding day is to capture the emotion and connections felt throughout the whole day. I'm known for on capturing the amazing candid moments throughout the day, as well as creative portraiture that is more than the standard pose and smile images. I like to get to know each couple as much as possible before the wedding, learn what makes you tick, and what will make you smile. I capture each wedding in a way that fits the bride and groom, while of course making everyone look your best and creating something you'll want to show off!
FAQ for Diana Maire Photography
It's pronounced like "Mayor." Up until now you probably thought it was Marie, didn't you? No worries, happens ALL the time. Just please, please don't call me Diane.
I noticed you have a 530 area code. What's up with that? I thought you were based in San Francisco?
Yes, yes, I know. Because I'm often out doing a photo shoot, or away from the office, I use my cell as my business line. I've had the same cell phone number since I lived in Redding, and if I changed it I'm pretty sure no one would know how to call me. But yes, I do live in San Francisco now.
Do you travel for weddings?
Free tiny bottles of shampoo and eating out for every meal?! Hell yes I travel for weddings. My passport is up to date, and I've never been to the South Pacific (hint hint). Travel fees will apply and vary by destination. Contact me for details.
What are your rates for weddings?
Wedding coverage starts at $2500, and I also offer an hourly option for clients only need a few hours.
Do your packages come with a disc of images?
Some do, but not all.
What is your style?
Someone once told me that to develop your own style, think of 5 keywords that describe what your work is now, and what you want it to develop into. I set mine as "natural, clean, quirky, soft, and fun". If that is totally confusing, I basically like to catch real moments and expressions, while of course making you look your best.
What should I wear to my portrait session?
You should dress like a slightly hipper version of yourself. Wearing jeans and a tshirt that matches everyone else's in the photo isn't exactly hip, so why bother? Might as well take this opportunity to get decked out like you are in an Anthropologie or Jcrew catalog. Don't worry, I'll tell you if you've gone too far. It's always good to bring a few options, and lots of accessories.
Any planning tips to get great wedding photos?
Absolutely!
Well first off, if at all possible, try to plan the portrait times for within 2 hours of sunset. The colors and shadows will be softer, and it's much more forgiving on the skin than mid day.
Don't try to pack a million activities into a short period of time. That will leave no time for portraits, and no time for you to enjoy yourself.
Speaking of packing, don't try to reach your maximum person count for the venue. This often leaves the tables really close together, and it makes it hard for myself, and all your guests to get around. I don't want to have to knock Grandma down in my attempt to reach the dance floor during the first dance.
Don't stay out too late, or drink to much at the rehearsal dinner!
Remember to have fun and take a moment to relax and enjoy yourself.
Why don't you have any photographs of yourself on your website?
I have yet to have someone take a photo of me that is both professional and not hideous. I hope to change this soon.
