We used Jason, owner of Digital Arts DJs, for our evening wedding. From our very first encounter with him, we had complete confidence in his ability to make our night one to remember. He offered fantastic suggestions on dinner music, open dance music, reception flow, etc., but also took our wishes and made them happen. He truly catered to our style. Among all my vendors, he was the easiest to keep in contact with, and constantly kept me updated on his progress with planning our reception. His services were fantastic on the day of the wedding. His ability to improvise with the events of the night was impressive and the LIGHTING!!! Wow. It was incredible. Overall, he exceeding my expectations and I would recommend him for any event.

In a word, Jason was AMAZING. I'm not one to write a positive review unless the services were truly outstanding, and Jason certainly deserves a fantastic review. From the planning stages to the day of my wedding, everything was perfect. Every step of the way, Jason was courteous, thorough, and entertaining. If you want a DJ who will put together a completely customized event and who is very capable of making sure both you and your guests have a great time, Jason Dolat is definitely the DJ for you! If I ever need a DJ again, I will be using Digital Art DJ's.

The music is one of the most important parts of a wedding, and thanks to Digital Arts DJ, my reception was perfect. Many people told me it was the best wedding and reception that they had ever attended, and the dance floor was packed all night. Jason e-mailed and met with us whenever we needed, and stayed in touch with us weekly. There are so many small details that are easy to overlook when planning a wedding reception, but every single thing was covered thanks to great planning and communication. Not only did he help us plan our songs, but also helped plan the order of events for the entire night, announcements, and set-up details. Jason went out of his way to give us recommendations and always answered any questions we had within a day or two. Even though everyone has different music tastes, there was something for everyone to dance to at my wedding. I would highly recommend Digital Arts DJ for any wedding reception.

What music genres are in your collection?

Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?

What is your usual attire?

Suit or dress pants, shirt, tie and vest.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?

Only if I am unable to locate it.

How many other DJs do you work with?

I am the owner and only DJ representing Digital Art DJs. I have assistants that help depending on the size and equipment needed for the event, and I also network with other Raleigh area DJ's.

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?

3 hours

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?

Yes, in fact we require it.

Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?

No.

Can the client submit a do-not-play list?

Yes.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes and backup.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?

We offer a variety of state-of-the-art lighting options including dance floor, up-lighting, club style moving head lighting and special effects lighting.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?

Usually two hours depending on the equipment required for the event. We can bring our own table(s) and table covers/linens.

Do you have any extra space requirements?

Depending on the equipment required for the event.

Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?

Not at weddings, but when appropriate - yes.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?

Yes, we provide emcee services for wedding receptions and are a low-key DJ company who believes the focus should be on the Bride and Groom. So no, we do not talk between songs, unless for informational purposes (emcee).

How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?

A good DJ will know how to read the crowd and understands what music they respond well to. This is how you keep the crowd dancing and engaged.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

We are there as a hired vendor. As such, we bring everything we need for the event including our own food/snacks. If we are offered a meal by the bride/groom, we will graciously accept, but do not require it. We don't take breaks except a quick restroom break if needed.

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?

We always man the DJ booth, so there is never a stoppage in music.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

I have a small network of trusted DJ's in the area. If, in a rare event something would happen to cause me to be unable to attend, I would assist the client in finding a replacement and fully refund their money per the contract.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?

No.

What is your overtime rate?

Additional time (outside the agreed upon contracted time) is booked at $50/per half hour.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?

For locations >30 miles away, and additional charge of ~$50 is added for travel expenses, but would be included in the personalized quote.

What is the required deposit to secure your services?

A minimum reservation fee consisting of the greater of $200 or 30% of the performance fee is required at contract signing.
