John and his crew from DigitalKeepsakes were more than we could have hoped for - they were honest, affordable, professional and thorough from the beginning. He came to our home to go over pre wedding details, went above and beyond with equipment to cover our wedding day and gave us a video we'll never forget. He knew what was important to us and didn't miss a single thing we wanted captured. His unique ability to be everywhere yet go unnoticed to the guests and blend into the background was unbelievable. If we had to do it again there is no question John Tunney and DigitalKeepsakes would be our videographers.

About Digital Keepsakes

From its inception in 2002, Digital Keepsakes has been committed to producing the finest Wedding Videos anywhere.

Our style can be described as “Simple yet Elegant.” Our goal is to tell the story of your Wedding Day without letting special effects or technology get in the way.

We’re professionals, and we come to your Wedding dressed professionally: suit and tie for the men, black dressy attire for the women.

We work quietly and unobtrusively — we won’t get in the way during the ceremony or the reception, yet we’ll get all the footage we’ll need to cover your Wedding thoroughly. We’ll usually take up to eight hours of footage to edit into your Wedding Video. We won’t use lights at the ceremony at all, and will use them at the reception only to the extent that it keeps the picture from looking grainy and washed out.

We pay particular attention to capturing great sound. We use up to three wireless microphones to capture the readings, music, and vows with clarity.

Our editing is meticulous. We always take our time to gather the best shots from the best angles to give you a video that conveys the emotion, excitement, and joy of your Wedding Day.

Are you a commercial studio or a home-based business?

We are a home-based business. This allows us to keep our costs low so we can provide a better value to the newlyweds.

Do you offer demo DVDs for potential clients to look at?

Highlights segments of some of our weddings appear on the Gallery page on our website, as well as on our blog. Copies of complete weddings are available on request.

What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?

Besides our wedding packages, we offer Photo Montages, Engagement Story videos, and Wedding Story highlights videos.

We edit our videos to provide a classic look, so effects and transitions used are appropriate to the video and don't detract from the story.

Unedited footage is available at extra cost.

Describe any special editing services you offer:

We use professional editing software (Final Cut Pro), which is used to edit many TV shows and movies. It allows us to ensure that colors are true and in balance.

Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?

Our cameras are chosen for their sensitivity to low-light conditions, so extra lighting is necessary only in the dimmest of circumstances. We never use lights for the Ceremony, and will use small, on-camera lights at the reception when necessary.

How many videographers do you work with?

Depending on the package ordered, anywhere from one to three videographers will shoot the wedding day events.

Does the client get to meet the videographers before the event?

I encourage couples to meet with me before the wedding day. Many times couples live out of town and return to Pittsburgh for the wedding, and we can't meet in advance. In all cases, we attend the rehearsal to learn where we can place cameras.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

I am present at all weddings.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

We do not book more than one wedding on a given day.

We will book more than one wedding over the weekend.

Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the event day?

We have backup personnel available.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

Our equipment includes up to four 1080i HD cameras, three wireless microphones, tripods for every camera, as well as monopods and extra batteries.

Do you bring backup equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Backup equipment is always available. However, all equipment is thoroughly checked out before every event to make sure it's functioning properly.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

When something is going on, we will be there to shoot it. We're on the go from the time we start till our time's up.

When the bridal party and guests are having their meal, we expect to be able to eat as well. Our agreement calls for the client to provide a meal for each videographer we bring.

Do you charge overtime?

Our high-end package calls for unlimited coverage. Other packages allow six or eight hours' coverage. For those packages, extra hours may be purchased.

Do you give access to your raw footage?

Raw footage is available on DVD at extra cost.

Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for deals, contents, etc.?

Yes. Our agreement calls for us to be able to use the video on our website, blog, and any demo DVDs that we produce. Often portions of wedding videos are posted on Vimeo.

Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?

We want the video to meet or exceed the client's expectations. Prior to the wedding we send out a questionnaire that asks what the couple wants us to be sure to include, and requests their music choices. At any time the client may contact us with ideas or changes. Finally, we're happy to make changes to the final video if they request them.

How long does it take for the client to get the final video?

It takes longer to edit video than it does to prepare still photos. Your photographer may take 2,000 pictures during the day, but we'll take 2 million!

Under normal circumstances the wedding video will be ready within four months.

Do you require a minimum number of hours to book?

Our packages range from 6 hours to unlimited time. We're also happy to book ceremony-only or reception-only packages as well. We'd be happy to provide a quote on this coverage after we discuss the client's requirements.
