I hope Aaron doesn't mind me sharing this, but I had learned he had a passing in his family the morning of my wedding day, and I could not believe his professionalism and composure as he provided all the music for my ceremony and reception without showing his sadness. He was a joy to work with, and so interactive during the reception! Leading up to my wedding, Aaron met with my husband and I to discuss what types of music we wanted. He is quick on his feet and doesn't show up with a prepared playlist. He goes with what the crowd likes best and plays radio friendly music so that guests of all ages can enjoy it! He had all of us on the dance floor and even joined us in a few group dance songs! What a fun and friendly disc jockey!! I can't say it enough, that he made sure we all had a great time!!!

Aaron was an absolute joy to work with. He took the time to get to know us...so by wedding day, it was like having a friend DJ our wedding. He has an eye for details...so much that he thought of things we never would have dreamed of! Special dances, creative ideas, things like that. That really helped put a true personal touch on the music for our big day. We've already referred several of our engaged friends to him and hope that we get to party with him again! Great job, Aaron!

Describe your DJ style:

When you hire me to DJ your wedding, it's like having someone who really knows who you are...which, to me, is more than just a client. My approach is that of up-close, personal, and one-on-one interaction. Many brides & grooms have become friends of mine after their events! I'm even exchanging baby photos with some of them now!

What is your usual attire?

For weddings, it is strictly formal attire. A pressed and clean (but not overstated) tuxedo. For other events such as Bar Mitzvahs and Holiday parties, the attire for the DJ is discussed prior to the event. The bottom line: I'm NEVER dressed inappropriately.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?

I don't require it, but I often suggest it. Too often a bride will NOT provide a list of "No-Plays" then ultimately be disappointed by a song that a DJ plays on the most important and memorable day of her life. This can leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth.

How many other DJs do you work with?

I am a one-man-show! When you hire Disc Jockey Etc, you get Aaron.

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?

I typically have a 3 hour minimum, but depending on the location of the event, that is certainly negotiable.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?

Not only is she able, I pretty much depend on it! And not just once, either. I like to meet with brides and grooms at least twice prior to wedding day...and NEVER in the month of the big day. By the time your wedding month arrives, we've got everything wrapped up! The DJ is one thing you DON'T have to worry about on your wedding day!

Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?

I don't necessarily "specialize" in ethnic or international events, but I'm always happy to be a part of and learn more about them.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes! I have all professional grade, name brand equipment. It's all owned (not rented) by me.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?

I have a modest lighting package which is included in my rates.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?

If I'm performing music for a ceremony & a reception in the same place, I typically ask for 90 minutes of set-up time. But I never need less than 60 minutes. I typically ask the event facility to provide a table, but if I know that one is not going to be available beforehand, I'll bring my own.

Do you have any extra space requirements?

No.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?

Most definitely, but only when it's appropriate. It's a wedding reception, not a radio station. I speak when it's time to speak, and play music when it's time to play music!

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

I usually ask permission from my clients to partake in their meal IF it is a buffet or heavy appetizer meal. This has never been a problem in my experience. If it is a sit down meal which includes courses, most brides will provide me (as well as the other vendors on site) with "vendor meals" which are separate (and equally as appreciated). I've never had a problem with this.

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?

N/A...again, I don't take breaks.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Absolutely! Any Dj worth his salt does. I belong to an extensive network of DJ's in the metro Atlanta area many of which are more than happy to step in for me if (heaven forbid) something were to happen.

What is your overtime rate?

$50 per hour.
