I had secretly been stalking the Dixie Pixel blog for a year prior to even getting engaged. I had researched dozens of potential photographers. Thing is, every time a event was posted, I'd look through every single one, over and over. I never felt the need to do that on other photographers' sites. That's when I knew I had to have her. She made me crave more of the story.Tara, the woman behind the lens at Dixie Pixel, is nothing short of amazing. The first time I met her I had the privilege of also meeting her husband Brian and her children, too. Because Jim and I brought our toddler along to the meeting, as well, we were immediately thrown into a play date in addition to an interview for our wedding photographer. Being able to feel at ease like that right off the bat, combined with her professional presentation of the packages she offers, her comfort, confidence and the examples she showed us, sealed the deal for me. You may find "better deals" in terms of what you might be able to get from other photographers, but there's no way you'll get the quality, the story, the emotion that Tara and her pictures portray. Guests at my wedding thought she was just another guest with a HUGE camera -- that's how well she fit in. She was seamless, she was courteous, she was patient, and she guided me when I needed her to do so. For someone like me who rarely lets anyone take my picture, I still gaze at these photos every day. She has mastered the use of Holga, lighting, black and white, color, perspective and mood. Our shots range from vintage-looking 1950s Havana-style to shots that look like they came straight from the pages of Vogue. Being able to candidly capture a day, story, memories like that is awe-inspiring. Friends, family, co-workers, Facebook stalkers have told us they are the best wedding photos they've ever seen. One recommendation I would make to any couples out there -- Don't get the cheapest package like we did. You will be kicking yourself. Do not cut corners on your photos. Cakes, while beautiful and delicious, are ultimately perishable. Your dress, while it makes you queen for a day, is only worn once (yes, I know -- sacrilege). However, your photos last a lifetime. These are what you'll refer back to time and again. Go all out. Splurge here -- on the photos. And definitely book Dixie Pixel.

Tara was FABULOUS!! She was so easy to work with and all of the pictures are absolutely amazing! I would recommend her to anyone-I love her pictures. They are so unique and look like something out of a magazine!
Dixie Pixels did a fabulous job. I could not have asked for a better turn out with the photograhy. I was a bride that was slightly on the larger side, so it is hard to take a picture that I will what to display, but Dixie Pixels did that many times over. She made me look beautiful in every picture. My guests to the wedding were text messageing me on my honeymoon telling me how beautiful the pictures were before I even had a chance to see them. I also love the packages they provide. I love that there is a certain amount for picture credit is already in the package. It helps to know that you will have something tangible automatically after all the money is spent. She worked well with my wedding coordinator and the other vendors so everything to ran smoothly. I would recommend this company to anyone. I know we will use her in the future for portraits and events.
Dixie Pixel is the best. She is very artistic and caught every special moment at our wedding, and the day after. She is fun to work with and truly does the best work of anyone around. I HIGHLY recommend Dixie pixel for any of you photography needs!

Tara has a great sense of humor that shines through her work as she captures your event. She makes her brides and grooms look sexy and sweet! Tara makes the whole photography experience easy. She has a laid back personality, but keeps everything running on schedule and thinks fast on her feet. She is also very clear about her terms so you know what you are getting for your money. Dixie Pixel does excellent work. I was not lucky enough to find them in time for my own wedding, but my friends have used them since and their work is top notch! They pick the best locations to get just the right look for engagement shots and they can capture the energy of any wedding perfectly.

Tara Kneiser, of Dixie Pixel, is one of the few photographers whose work makes me gasp. Her creative use of light and her talent for making the most of veils enables her to create gorgeous, almost ethereal photographs. In addition to being a talented photographer, Tara is a genuinely nice person who cares about her clients. Her easy going manner and efficient shooting style keep wedding day stress to a minimum while capturing awe-inspiring images to last a lifetime.
