Jake was excellent! We met only twice before our wedding and his professionalism made our wedding reception tremendous. He provided all the music we asked for but also added music that was of the same era. We greatly apprciated that he just kept the music going. Very highly recommend!!

Jake is a fantastic DJ! Very professional, very experienced and a pleasure to work with. I really loved his online music portal where we could request songs ahead of time and could really think about the type of music we wanted at our celebration. Jake's music choices got our friends out on the dance floor before our meal was served, and I think that's a testament to how great his DJ skills are. I highly recommend him!!

Jake was great; he was professional, responsive, and easy going. He played a great range of music and worked well with our play list. There were a few songs on our play list that it would have been better if they were played at a different time of the night, but you can specify with a note when you would like a song played (cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, etc). He didn't talk too much on the mic during the night, which was great, I don't like it when the DJ is too talkative. And he had no gimmicks at all, which was also great. He just played great music and kept the night going. Our guests had nothing but great things to say about him as well.

We heard from so many of our guests that ours was one of the most fun weddings they had ever been too. I am sure that most people hear that about their weddings, but we are pretty confident that our guests weren’t lying. The dance floor was packed for the entire evening and even non-dancers got up once or twice.

We met with Jake about five months before the wedding to discuss the feel of the event. He was very personable and was quick to reassure us that his focus at the wedding would be keeping the music and the dancing going. He said that he would not focus on being a big emcee and that we would be able to follow the mood of the crowd. After setting up the deposit and all the formalities, we had access to a website that we could use to select music for the structured dances (first, mothers’, last) which was pretty easy and useful.

The night of the wedding itself was great. The dance floor was full for the whole evening and he didn’t even have to play line dances! Jake only played two slow songs, which was absolutely perfect. One of the things that was most impressive was that there were one or two technical glitches (as there will be at every wedding), and Jake handled them smoothly and confidently. I have never seen three hours of constant dancing at a wedding!

Jake was awesome! He played the songs we asked for and more importantly played songs that kept people on the dance floor and having a good time. We had so many people tell us that it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to, and a huge part of that was the music. Not only that, he was great to work with. We highly recommend him!!

Jake was the DJ for our 5 hour wedding reception this past August. Our venue had two connecting rooms, one for cocktail hour/dancing and a dining room, and Jake had set-ups with microphones in both rooms. He did our introductions and all of the announcements at the reception (including announcements telling guests to move between rooms). He isn't a "game show host" announcer, he pretty much just let the music speak for itself. He has an online planning system which makes it pretty easy for clients to provide their timeline, names of wedding party and any other requests/information he needs to know, so we had no issues with any of the logistics. The online planner is linked to his music library which has most songs you would hear at weddings. If you really want a song he doesn't have I think you can contact him and he will add it for you though. On the day of the wedding, we were behind the schedule I had set on the online planner, and Jake did a great job trying to keep us on track (5 hours flies by so much faster than you would think!). In terms of the music itself, some of our guests actually commented on how nice the music was during dinner/cocktail hour, and Jake had picked most of the songs himself. For the dancing part of the reception, Jake did a great job playing the right songs to get everyone to dance, and for the last hour of the reception pretty much everyone there was dancing. Overall I would recommend DJ Jake to anyone looking for a laid-back DJ who knows what he is doing and knows how to play the right songs at the right time so your guests will enjoy the music and have a great time.

Jake was fantastic, he was always available for a last minute question and very helpful with suggestions. The Vitamin String Quartette was his idea and everyone LOVED it! He played our requests and mixed his own choices in with them, people were on the dance floor all night and barely came up for air! Overall, fantastic DJ with a great skill for weddings and the best deal out there by far! LOVED the experience we had with him!

Jake was great! His communication whenever I had a question or concern was always fast and helpful. He also made it easy to figure out what I needed to pick songs for (cake cutting, boquet toss, etc), as I originally didn't think about these types of things. He also gave me some recommendations for music when I had no idea what to pick. Jake definitely kept the entire crowd on the dancefloor all night and he didn't interfere with lots of cheesy MC'ing like some other DJ's do. He was professional and everyone had a great time! I am very happy with Jake's service and would recommend him to anyone!

Jake was very professional and easy going. We even changed one of our wedding songs at the last minute and did not even stump him. He was GREAT!

Jake was the one and only DJ we interviewed..After meeting him and talking to him we knew he was the one we wanted at our wedding.He was organized,professional and overall a great guy..He knows his stuff and does it wonderfully..Everyone complimented on the music and style..I was super impressed by the fact that he asked our wedding colors and came dressed in them.. Jake was great throughout the entire process. He was always responsive, flexible, and helpful... and on the big day was incredibly professional and made sure to communicate with us throughout the reception to make sure everything was up to par! We had a lot of specific requests and he carried each out flawlessly. We had a day wedding and I can honestly say EVERYONE was on the dance floor the whole time, including the old folks! Jake did a fantastic job of balancing our requests with our guests'. The music he selected during dinner really complemented the music we requested for the rest of the evening.

Jake was very professional - had helpful suggestions for songs - has an excellent website to organize and review your wedding song choices - was on time - dressed very well - played exactly the songs that we wanted and didn't play the songs that we didn't want - was a great mc - friendly, great rapport with the guests - not loud, but reserved and did not become the center of attention himself - very fairly priced. You do yourself and your wedding a disservice by NOT hiring Jake. He is awesome! He isn't invasive, or smarmy and he isn't remotely wacky or misguided. He simply plays great music. Tell him what you want to hear and he will play exactly that. Jake can really read a crowd and play exactly what they need to hear to keep their bums a shaking all night on the dance floor. And dance they did. Our dance floor was packed all evening.

And he does this all affordably. Really, really affordably. He was between 1/3 or 1/2 the price of the majority of popular Boston area DJ's.

Jake was the ultimate professional from the initial meeting right up to the wedding. Our wedding was multicultural - Irish and Puerto Rican and he accommodated both cultures. I just gave him the list of the latin music and he did the rest. Jake was super organized and kept the wedding timeline perfectly. He also kept the dance floor going and would change up the music when the time was right. Jake's price was also just right. Don't think you will get less service because other DJs charge higher prices. I guarantee you will be happy with Jake. He's a nice person and a class act.

Jake was an awesome DJ. I did not have one complaint of him. He did exactly what I asked him to do. He was very organized and keeps in touch with you throughout the planning process. He kept good music going and kept me on track throughout the night. I was kind of nervous at first choosing Dj's but he just seemed to be a good choice and I'm glad I chose him.

Jake came to our rehearsal dinner and provided a DJ'd trivia game during dinner that our relatives are all still talking about! It turned what can be a boring dinner into something fun and really got everyone interacting with the new relatives.

Jake DJ'd our wedding on New Years at the Hyatt Harborside. He was phenomenal. He was very conscientious and communicated with us regularly before the event. During the event the music was perfect and changed throughout the evening based on the crowd that remained (became more clubby after the relatives mostly left). There was literally not a single person who didn't dance at some point. Having been to a ton of weddings/bar mitzvahs...I can truly say that Jake is exceptional. We would use him again in a second.

Jake was amazing! He went out of his way to find and play some obscure music my husband likes. He played the songs we loved and didn't play the songs we preferred not to hear. He was professional and all my guests commented how great the music selection was. He had everyone on the dance floor!

My husband was a college radio DJ back in the day, so he had strong opinions about the DJ for our wedding, and Jake surpassed even his expectations. We had a somewhat quirky list of songs and artists we wanted played, and Jake did a great job not only including everything we wanted, but expertly choosing other music to go around the specific selections. Our guests kept commenting on how great the DJ was and how they could tell by the music they were at *our* wedding and not just a generic fill-in-the-blanks wedding. His professional (yet relaxed, and not at all in-your-face) demeanor was also very much appreciated. On the technical side, his equipment was excellent (or so says my husband, not my area of expertise), and the volume was also adjusted perfectly to the space we were in and the pace of the day (something that's been a problem at other weddings I've attended - no blasting out eardrums during dinner here!). I'm rating Jake a 5 out of 5 on value for cost (as well as the other measures) and to be honest, would still consider his services a great value even if he'd charged more.

Jake was excellent! Our guests were up and dancing before dinner was even finished, and he reacted to music alluded to during Best Man / Matron of Honor / Welcome speeches, and had it cued up and ready to go. He was very flexible, played all of the music that we wanted him to play, he "read" the crowd, and kept the dance floor packed. We were very happy with his work.

We were extremely pleased with Jake's work. We had many people from our wedding comment on how good the music was. Everyone was dancing the whole night. Only suggestion is a larger play list. We had some song requests for greek and irish songs which were not available.

Jake did a fantastic job DJ'ing our 100 person wedding. He was open to playing all the songs we requested and even spliced music for us. I would recommend him for any wedding.

Jake was excellent. I just needed a DJ for few hours during my reception, not during the entire event (since I had live music for the ceremony and cocktail) and he was more than willing to be flexible in that way. Many other DJs I spoke to had a minimum of 4-5 hours. Jake was professional, nice, and was just very good at playing the types of music we liked during the reception. He seemed to have a good pulse on the situation.
Of all the vendors we used for our wedding, Jake was by far one of the ones we were most pleased with. If I ever had a need for a DJ again, I would definitely use Jake.
