DJ Sota Entertainment was amazing! Dakota and his team are with you the entire way. From the moment I hired them until the end of my wedding, they were helpful, accommodating, and there every step of the way. They had great ideas for me and took every single one of my requests. I had DJ Dave as my DJ and MC for my wedding. He played all the music I asked for, had my guests on their feet and dancing and at the end of the night all my guests were raving about how amazing he was. I also had a photo booth there and Jason was amazing too. Jason handled a crowded and demanding line of photo booth goers with ease. He had props, music, and lights in the photo booth and made each experience unique. I would recommend Dakota and his team to any bride in need of a great DJ and photo booth. Thanks to them foraging my wedding entertaining, fun. And memorable.

We chose Dakota as our DJ because he had a great combination of skills: professional, good MC voice, and easy to work with. Our timeline was constantly changing, but Dakota was always helpful in working with us on the timeline. He checked in with us during the wedding regarding a few events, which was very helpful. He also seems to have a good feel for the guests and the music. We would highly recommend DJ Sota if you're looking for a DJ in the Southern California area.

Working with DJ Sota entertainment was great. DJ Sota was always very helpful throughout the whole planing process. He was not the DJ playing at my wedding, but he helps a lot with different details needed for the day of the wedding. The DJ at our wedding was DJ Diego who was great at playing most of the songs we requested, and made our wedding super fun!!

We had DJ Sota for our wedding on March 30, 2013 and I can only say that he is an amazing DJ. First the Music selection was great...We left the selections up to DJ Sota and he guided us on which types of music that should be played during each setting. Second Timeline, the weeks heading up to the wedding we starting making our timeline for the reception and DJ Sota contacted us and gave us recommendations to how it could flow better. He also coordinated with the reception location, photographer and videographer to make sure that all the special events like first dance, flower toss, anniversary dance, and cake cutting would be synched with them so that those special events won't be missed. DJ Sota kept it upbeat by bringing in different types of music from oldies to current selections so that the guests from all ages would enjoy the dance floor. He even got the dance floor started by having people come to the dance floor to do special dances like the harlem shake, cha cha slide, electirc slide, and cupid shuffle. He even got onto the dance floor to show everyone how to do it which was highly appreciated. All in all our wedding went great and I really think alot of it had to do with DJ Sota being able to coordinate everything with our other venders and more importantly being able to keep the wedding upbeat. My wife and I highly recommend him and we mean do truly mean it.
PS my sister in law is getting married in November and she booked DJ Sota for her wedding too.

DJ Sota Entertainment provided up lighting for my reception. The up lighting gave the room the extra touch it needed and made it more beautiful. It took the room to the next level and looked great in all the photos! He was very professional and worked well with my wedding planner and his team.

DJ Sota was AMAZING! He is young, fun and hip, but not to be lacking any professionalism, punctuality and performance. He is very knowledgeable about music selection and is up to date with his accessibility. He suggested my ceremony song and I immediately cried! So I was very comfortable in trusting him with song selections and knowing I was in good hands. It's so nice to be able to text, call or email him and get a speedy response every time. My guests loved that he was a great MC, taking song requests and he nailed the timing with each event. His voice and mannerism were perfect! He offered THE BEST value package too, he couldn't be beat. Trust me, you will be very happy with DJ Sota! He really made our wedding day!

Dakota was one of the first vendors in a line of wedding vendor experiences and he definitely got us started out right. He has a very professional and personable demeanor and we instantly connected with him. He was upfront with his services and how he could help us enhance the reception with lighting, music, and other elements. We knew after meeting with him that he would be our DJ. As we got closer to our wedding day, he presented us with a lengthy (but super informative) packet of song ideas with our event information to fill out. This also consisted of all of the details he needed to know but that we never would have thought of on our own. He listened to our needs, made suggestions based on us as individuals and the type of wedding we were having, and more importantly, he proved himself on the day of- our guests had a great time and we got to hear all of the key songs we had requested. Two additional things that stood out for us-- On our RSVP cards we left a line for guests to fill out that said "I promise to dance if you play___" We got quite the mix and somehow Dakota managed to slip in the important ones at just the right time. We also had several guests request the money dance during the reception, which we had initially said no to. Dakota came up to us during the night to get our permission to do this because of all of the requests. We really felt like he had our best interests in mind and wanted to give us a great wedding experience. The true litmus test- our guests danced until the music stopped; even my 93 year old grandma got out on the dance floor!

DJ Sota Entertainment far surpassed my expectations from a vendor at my wedding. Dakota just had knee surgery, so he sent DJ Sal in his place to work my ceremony and reception and he played all the music we liked and tailored the playlist to what the guests reacted to. It was perfect!!

I first heard of DJ Sota while working wedding with Paige Ashlyn Weddings and Events. Watching Dakota work from the vendor side won me over and I knew that when my day came, there was no one else I'd rather hire to DJ/ MC my wedding.

DJ Sal did a phenomenal job and I'd use and refer them to everyone I know. You can't go wrong with this company. Dakota goes above and beyond, providing his own detailed timeline and also makes himself available throughout your planning process to help with the music selections. I was a little unsure of what to pick at first and at the initial meeting, he played a few different versions of the wedding march, which I had my heart set on walking down the aisle to. He has it ALL!!

When it came time to dance, the music was a hit! DJ Sota Entertainment MADE my reception. The ambiance was kept fun and upbeat, just the way it should be.

Dakota DJ'ed at our wedding and I am so pleased that our guests had a fantastic time thanks to how well he MC'ed and kept the flow going from beginning to end. The music selection was very important to us, we had a very particular nostalgic/laid-back theme and Dakota was able to put together a song list that was right on the ball with what we were looking for. He gave us valuable feedback and suggestions, all of which we would never have thought about or even considered on our own. Dakota kept everything professional, organized, upbeat, and he even went the extra mile to work hand-in-hand with our wedding coordinating team on the day-of to ensure a perfectly executed event. It's really rare to have a DJ that is keen on the details and Dakota is just that!

I used DJ Sota and one of the DJ's that work for him, DJ Dave and they both went above and beyond my expectations for the event. They were both very professional and brought a great energy to both my wedding and also my work holiday party. I would recommend them both to anyone!

Dakota was great. He was easy to get in touch with and always responded right away. The uplighting he provided created a very intimate and beautiful feel to our reception ballroom.

I loved his ideas and ability to keep the reception timeline running smoothly. Our guests danced until 1 a.m. and didn't want it to be over...I felt the same way! He had people on the dance floor all night and took some requests and got everyone involved.

I would have given him all 5's...but a major faux pas happening during our Grand Entrance at which point he introduced me by the WRONG NAME. After the meetings, emails, texts messages, etc...I couldn't believe it when he said Michelle and not Melissa. My new husband looked at me and said, "Did you just hear that?!" After he said it, he realized he goofed and reintroduced us with my correct name Melissa, but what's done is done at that point.

Luckily, I'm pretty easy going and just wrote it off as "one of those things" and enjoyed my reception. He did provide a projector and screen for me (that I hadn't paid for yet, $200) and was a bit miffed that two minutes after he called me Michelle he came up asked me for the $200 and didn't apologize for the name mishap. It is what it is...I just thought I would share on the review.

But overall, he did a great job keeping everyone dancing and having a great time.

Dakota was an absolute pleasure to work with. When we first met with him, his professionalism and breadth of knowledge of various types of music convinced us that he was to be the DJ and emcee for our wedding. Although he wasn't the least expensive of the DJ's that we interviewed, the initial meeting proved to us that he was a better "fit" for our style. Our style ranged from 70s to current with a focus on pop/dance as well as Sri Lankan Baila thrown in....he mixed all of that effortlessly. He even recommended music to us that we weren't familiar with (Vitamin String Quarter, Bruno Mars "Marry You", etc..) that we ended up actually using as part of the ceremony and reception programming. He also suggested we have an Anniversary Dance to start off the dance portion of the reception and even though it wasn't our idea, it was one of the more memorable parts of our wedding.

He provided us with a very thorough Wedding Planner which helped us solidify the program with him. This allowed us to only have to meet with him once before the wedding and as other reviewers have said, this pre-wedding meeting is very well thought out and detailed. We were very flexible in our ideas and thoughts so only one meeting was needed.

Day of the wedding, everything went smoothly with no mishaps. Dakota set up in a venue that he had never worked before and he worked around some of the unique requirements of that venue. Dakota fielded song requests from our young guests (under 12 years old) and had them going crazy on the dance floor with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez songs...even our 60+ year old Uncle was "cutting a rug". As mentioned earlier, he blended music that he had no familiarity with and everyone enjoyed it and raved about how good the music was. Programming wise, he was able to emcee his way through some tricky names and kept everything moving and flowing.

We would highly recommend DJ Sota/Dakota to anyone.

Dakota really made our wedding. He had all the guest dancing not to mention kept the entire wedding running smoothly. Thank you so much for all you help you truly made our wedding day the best day ever!

Dakota did a great job! He kept the party lively throughout and really made the night special for both of us. He also provided lighting that helped make our space more inviting. The song selection was great and he managed to get everyone on the dance floor, even those who were a bit shy. We had a great time and Dakota was a major reason.

Dakota's excellent performance left me, my new bride, and our families all in awe after our wedding. Our "wedding coordinator" contact at our venue ended up disappearing and doing nothing for most of the day, and Dakota stepped up and kept us on schedule and the wedding moving. He could do this because he actually sat down and went through our whole wedding with us for an hour a few days before the wedding, down to phonetically spelling the names of our wedding party for the grand entrance. He even drove to our venue to check it out for his set up! While many DJ's are obnoxious and annoying, DJ Sota encouraged people to get out on the dance floor and have fun, even at our hot, daytime wedding, all the while being professional and classy, as well as fun.
To sum up: book DJ Sota Entertainment. I'm telling everyone I know that he is quite simply the best in the business. For professionalism, class, peace of mind and an excellent wedding day experience, you can't do better than DJ Sota Entertainment.

No matter how well you plan a wedding, no matter how beautiful the venue, how perfect the cake looks, and how fantastic the flowers are, all of that can go to waste if the MC is not able to tie it all together. That is what DJ Sota did on our magical night. He played the perfect music, got people out on the dance floor and he kept the whole night in order. The night started late due to other reasons and he was able to adjust and make the necessary adjustments so the whole night was seamless.

The success of our wedding night was a great balance of the right vendors and DJ Sota came highly recommended to us and I have no problems recommending him to anyone who is looking to have a magical night to remember.

Dakota did a great job hosting my wedding. Not only were the songs he played great, but he really managed the flow of the wedding and was very charming with my guests.

Dakota was awesome. I would have no hesitation in hiring him all over again, and am happy to recommend him. He was very mindful of our very long song request list and played almost all of them (over 200), dealt with more than his fair share of crazy family members and power issues gracefully and professionally, didn't talk just to hear himself, and was very easy-going about our less than traditional set-up and pace of the night. In short, just hire him. You'll be happy you did.

I loved DJ SOTA!! My wedding was June 18th and he made the whole night perfect! I had a few special request and he did every single one! He was so easy going and not too overpowering of the night! He played well rounded songs the whole night, accommodating the different types of people. I can honestly not say enough about him! I could not have picked a better DJ!

Dakota was absolutely amazing! I already had a wedding planner but had I not, I know Dakota would have made sure everything went smoothly. He was very professional from the first time we met till the end of the wedding. He was early to the wedding, making sure everything was set up correctly and took care of every little detail. My husband and I were beyond pleased with him and really appreciated how respectful he was in asking our permission before random guests started to give speeches. I hired Dakota for my second wedding because my fiancé and I are “very” particular about our choice of music and he was more than willing to take the time to work with us. Dakota helped to select a variety of music that really suited our taste. He spent a lot of time with me before the wedding and gave me some great recommendations for the ceremony music, and various types of music such as first dance, intro of the Wedding Party, etc. Dakota was very professional, personable and delightful to work with!!! In addition to the very specific songs that I wanted, he also suggested a lot of other tunes that he knew I would like! Dakota’s variety of music made the night and kept everyone from ages 8 to 80 dancing until the end! I couldn’t have asked that he do a better job!
