I totally recommend this DJ to any brides looking to have an amazing party. We used our own emcee which worked fine, and just secured the DJ services. The set up looked nice and matched our wedding colors. The office person who replies to communication was the most responsive of all the vendors I worked with in Puerto Rico. We provided 50 songs in advance including our first dance, parents dance, etc. and they nailed all of it, reading the crowd really well to supplement the mix of the other music which was a good mix of hip hop, old school, popular, merengue/salsa etc. The price is very fair. Highly recommend.

I chose DJ Rockhand for both my reception music and the lighting for the reception area. The lighting was just right. They were able to get the look I envisioned without costing an arm and a leg. The music was just as expected: lively and non-stop. I don't think the dance floor was empty for the whole reception. Kayla and Luis are wonderful and they make a great team. They were flexible and responsive. The MC was good but not as lively as I have seen at other weddings. But it was not an issue at all. She was sweet and made sure all song requests were met.

If you are getting married in Puerto Rico hire this DJ! From the beginning of our communication they were quick to respond and were very professional! We had a destination wedding and we felt reassured that DJrockhand was highly recommended to us by our wedding planner. DJrockhand got all of our ceremony music RIGHT ON! Our ceremony was outside and even then, the sound was perfect. For our reception I don't think anyone sat down much because everyone was up and dancing and having a great time! We had a small wedding, but it was worth every penny to hire DJrockhand!

We used DJ ROCKHAND for our destination wedding reception. I love music, and wanted to have a great mix of music that both my husband and I loved, as well as what would keep the party going and keep everyone happy and dancing. DJ ROCKHAND did an amazing job!!! Many guests commented to us about how great they did. They gave us the perfect mix of music (some fun remixes, but not too much!) that kept everyone on the dance floor all night. I loved that they had a seamless transition from song to song, a little detail that makes a big difference. They had asked me beforehand how I'd like to deal with requests from our guests, and I had asked that they clear it with me first. They held up their end of the deal without making it awkward for me or my guests, and really catered to how the entire group was reacting to the music. I'd recommend them to anyone!

We were really impressed with the way DJ Rockhand and the MC created a fun and exciting reception. They were also hired to play the music for the ceremony itself. They were great with their timing for the ceremony music and I was very happy with their services. The reception was a bit of a challenge because we had two different cultures coming together. They were able to find all of the Polish songs we requested and really blended them in well with all of the other American music. They did a great job of getting everyone on the dance floor and participating in the night. We had a small group of about 20 guests, but everyone had a BLAST! I would highly recommend DJ Rockhand for any event!!!

Truly was the best DJ that really brought everything together! Everyone was super helpful and ensuring that all my questions were answered in a timely manner. They even re-confirmed everything with me. The lighting bars really did go a long way in our reception room and music was on cue with all transitions! They even live streamed our entire ceremony and reception for my cousin back in the states who couldn't attend because of illness! The whole DJ Rockhand staff was so professional and helpful all the way up to the day of the wedding. Being from New York and it being a destination wedding we were nervous of picking vendors we would not meet, but we were not worried at all about the music once we had conversed through e-mail and phone conferences with the staff of Dj Rock hand. Our wedding was an absolute hit all the guests have said it was the best wedding they have ever gone to, it was a five hour party and no one sat down once. Dj Rockhand came highly recommended and now I know why - the music, the presentation, his staff - all top notch! We gave him some obscure songs (merengues and some American tunes) to find and he came through much to our delight. The specific MC he came with was a little lackluster, he blundered the garter toss and cut our ceremony entrance song in half just as I was coming down the aisle (not pleased as it was right in the middle of an important part of the song for my hubby and I). Other than that the MC did a good job. If I ever need to throw a party in Puerto Rico again I wouldn't think twice about booking Dj Rockhand and neither should you!!!

DJ Rockhand did such an amazing job with our wedding!! We worked with Luis and Keyla. They were extremely easy to work with and were more than professional. Keyla was on top of all of my emails and was always available to answer questions. The dance floor was absolutely packed all night...and we even had to extend it for an extra 30 mins b/c everyone was having such a great time! Amazing company to DJ your wedding! They are very flexible and had every song that we asked for! I was a little concerned but not a single thing went wrong. The MC had the party alive and going!!! They are also very punctual on returning emails!

DJ Rockhand and team worked great! We kept in touch throughout the whole wedding process (1 yr) and he was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and flexible. Had over 200 people in our wedding, half of whom were from Seattle and the other half from PR. The DJ (Carlos Alberto) and MC (Oscar) had already set up way before hand and did a fun job catering to both languages/groups during the reception at the San Juan Nautical Club (Club Nautico de San Juan). They followed my Rundown to perfection and played music according to both my dinner playlist/ dance music. We had hired a backpiper to play for my groom & his family for a minute during dinner and then "batucada brazilon" to play for 40 min after dinner and DJRockHand and co. totally catered to that as well! Guests from both groups couldn't stop raving about how they've never danced so much at a wedding and how fun everything was! DJRockhand and his assistant Keyla were awesome! He kept all of my guests dancing all night! Everyone said what an amazing time they had and how great he was! The only problem is that he is NOT an MC so he does not make any announcements. He did bring someone else to do the announcements, but we had to pay extra for that service and his services were already fairly expensive. The DJ and the MC were both very professional and our reception was great because of them!

DJ Rockhand was AMAZING!!!! The dance floor was literally packed all night!! His timing is perfect!! He gave the crowd what they wanted, when they wanted it. My biggest fear was an empty dance floor and when I look back I feel so silly for worrying about that. Every one was dancing the entire night thanks to Rockhand. He played all the different kinds of music we asked for, he mixed them together perfectly! When the last song of the night played, everyone shouted "Otra, Otra" which means "encore" in Spanish. DJ Rockhand was very easy to work with. Keyla was always very pleasant, and responsive with emails. I am so appreciative to him for being so accommodating when we had to move my reception to a 2nd location. There was a long interruption, due to rain, and he ended up waiting, and agreed to do a 2nd set-up at a 2nd location. Once all those issue got squared away, we had a great time! I am very happy we chose him as our DJ!

We live in Arizona and decided to have a destination wedding so we were nervous the DJ would not play any songs our guests would be familiar with, but boy was I wrong. DJ Rockhand wanted a playlist from us a week before the wedding and he played all the songs on it which our guests loved. DJ Rockhand was fantastic! The dance floor was never empty (even though we had a very mixed crowd). The music was great, I would definitely hire him again!

DJ Rockhand was the perfect fit for our wedding and we would unequivocally choose them 10 times out of 10 were we to need DJ services in PR again.

Our goal for the reception was to have an elegant garden party where everyone could let loose. With that in mind, we chose to minimize the amount of package extras such as lights and fog because we wanted the focus to be on the ambiance.

Outside of the processionals, the only direction we provided came in the form of the type of music we wanted for dinner, a short list of songs we wanted played throughout the night, and a category of music we didn't want played. Luis took that list and extrapolated it to weave a wonderful web of music that fit the moment when the time was right and satisfied the tastes of the entire crowd.

Our guests ranged in ages from 3 to 63 with widely varying backgrounds, but there was not one moment in the night where the dance floor was empty. A couple of guests who spend a lot of time in dance clubs even commented on how fluidly he transitioned from song-to-song, genre-to-genre, and how timely the various song choices were.

When we came up against our time limit, Luis realized that the venue hadn't cut us off yet, so they lowered the volume and played a couple more songs to finish the night!

The _only_ negative of the evening was that the emcee mispronounced the best man's name. Not a huge mistake in the grand scheme of things, but something to note none-the-less.

Amazing! So friendly, so great! The music selection was exactly as I asked for it to be. I couldnt have been happier!!! Everyone was up and dancing all night long!

We hired djrockhand at the last minute before our destination wedding. Keyla was a great point of contact and answered all of our questions. Our music tastes are very eclectic and we had to please a variety of ears, including my ballroom dancing loving parents, his Indian mother, and our hip hop loving friends. In addition to a traditional playlist, we gave Luis (djrockhand) a CD of bhangra songs to incorporate into the reception -it had the whole wedding on its feet. The only thing that didn't work out was the entrance for my surprise traditional Indian dance --it was supposed to lead off the general dancing but he already started playing dance music (including my favorite song, which I missed) while I was getting ready. None of our guests noticed though, and the dance itself went well --I sent Keyla a file with the song ~one week before and there were no technical issues. Overall I would recommend this vendor.

dj rockhand and Keyla were an absolute joy to work with. Very prompt, very patient and very professional! They were always accessible and able to answer any questions we had during the selection and booking process. They were able to accommodate changes (adding sound and mic for our outdoor ceremony) – and even took a last minute song request from me that I remembered while I was having my hair and make up done the day of the wedding!

We submitted our songs via spotify playlists – they had everything exactly as we wanted it. dj rockhand was amazing – we had a small but committed group of dancers and he made sure they stayed dancing up through the last song of the night. He read our crowd, worked in guest requests, and was an absolute master at mixing song after song.

Wow, I cannot say enough about DJ Rockhand and Crew! Beginning with the customer service - every email I sent with questions was happily received, answered quickly with an open invitation to ask whatever I needed whenever I wanted. We didn't have very many demands, just a typical wedding with songs played when we needed them, but it was beautiful. I was nervous about the sound system on the beach but everything worked perfectly, you could hear the processional and recessional songs PERFECTLY. Our pastor was heard by all with no wind impacts on the mic.
The reception was SO fun and we all know this is always hinders on how good the DJ is. I've been to some terrible weddings and it was usually b/c of the music! Not this one - we had a BALL! DJ Rockhand played everything needed to get the party going and keep it going, while also avoiding the songs we didn't want played. They were even sure to check with me when someone requested a song that was in the genre that was on the 'do not play' list. And because they didn't have too much to wrap up either (his toolset is small but powerful), he kept playing more songs for us while the rest of the venue was being broken down. Selecting a DJ for our wedding was one the most crucial aspects in our planning. My husband and I come from two different ethnic backgrounds and fusing his Cape Verdean music with Puertorican/latin music smoothly and effectively was very important to us. We are a very musical couple with a family who loves a good party and opportunity to tear up a dance floor. DJ Rockhand did an extraordinary job at tackling this task effortlessly. I can not recall a moment when the dance floor was empty! He and his MC (Keyla) kept the crowd motivated and eager to dance and enjoy the festivities, so much so that they we didn't want the night to end.

I don't know how they did it, but DJRockhand managed to take my limited direction, and turn it to my ideal playlist. From the first step down the aisle to the final dance, Rockhand met all my needs. One of my greatest fears with having a destination wedding was having all my family and friends coming from different places all over the world and having a horrible time. With Rockhand, I should have never been worried. It was a nonstop party from beginning to end. Thank you, Rockhand.

The wedding music was awesome! He kept the party going. Also, there was a song that I requested, but I didn't know the title, just the movie it appeared in. He googled it for me, and then played it for the party. He was fantastic, I highly recommend him! The MC was really great as well.

While the two people we dealt with before the wedding via email and a meeting two days before our event (Luis and Lahiany) were professional and nice, our actual wedding DJ and MC were unprofessional and confused.

We were not told ahead of time that the actual DJ and MC who would be at our event were not Luis or Lahiany but rather people we had never met before and knew nothing about. There were obviously communication issues when information was passed from us to Luis then on to the actual DJ and MC. And the only reason Luis met with us two days before was to get his money - our planner talked with him earlier and was told that he "doesn't do meetings" - he only changed his mind two days before once she told him we had his check.

Our other big issue was with the MC - it was hard to understand her and she kept talking with the mic in front of the speakers, causing horrible feedback. A "professional" MC should know better than that. The DJ forgot to play some of our important songs (the bridal party entered in awkward silence at the beginning of the reception, and my husband and I only had music because I told the planner to go get the DJ to put our music on!). They also played strange versions of some very popular songs on my playlist (who doesn't know Bon Jovi?). My bridesmaids kept having to go up and tell them to change the music because they were either playing some weird version or playing a song that cleared the dance floor - they should've known to fade the music out to a new song once they saw that people weren't interested, without any help from my bridesmaids.

We also had a picture slideshow that they botched - they played the pictures out of order and cut some of them off such that either myself or my husband were left out of photos of the two of us! The crowd still enjoyed the show, but it didn't go as planned and it was a little awkward. The only thing I did like was the lighting they put around the room - they put pink lights around to complement our decor.

For the price, I'd skip this vendor and go with one that's more professional and in tune with their customers' requests.

I could not be happier with my decision to have DJ Rockhand dj our wedding. They were the perfect compliment to our perfect day.

I chose to have an MC in addition to the DJ which was well worth it. I worked with the MC to go over our wedding schedule and she kept us to that schedule. In addition she kept the crowd involved and when it was time to dance she had her way of getting people to the dance floor.
The DJ was skilled enough to read the crowd and keep everyone on the dance floor. We basically had 3 hours of non stop dancing.

Additionally, Laihany and Luis are a joy to work with. Most of my communication was through email since this was a destination wedding and I always felt that they had everything in control
We had a semi complicated first dance that involved a slow song, merged with a salsa song and then a bachata song, which Luis helped blend perfectly..

What a great experience! DJ Rockhand took care of all our music needs during my wedding. He lent my ceremony guitarist some last minute equipment, which shows DJ's flexibility. He was able to mix two very different songs that we had chosen as the first dance, and it came out sounding effortlessly. He was able to project brand new day-off wedding pics on his LED screen and created an instant slide show for the guests to enjoy during dinner! Luis and Keyla were AWESOME! We met with them on our first trip to Puerto Rico a year prior to our wedding, and they were very warm and welcoming in addition to very professional. My husband is a big music fan so choosing the right DJ was very important to him, and DJ Rockhand did not let us down. They listened to every single request we had and made it happen. I just remember being on the dance floor and hearing EVERY SINGLE song I wanted them to play come on. They even remained very strict with our "do not play" list. I was very adamant about not having the electric slide play, so when my sister requested it, Keyla did not hesitate to say, "oh no!! The Bride does not want that" ;)

Throughout the year of the planning phase, Keyla (who is also the MC) kept in touch with me and offered help with additional things. She even recommended our Videographer, as well as suggestions for guitar players. She was very sweet yet professional and did a great job Mcing our bilingual wedding.

Our guests danced all night long... from the youngest ones to the oldest ones... they played something for everyone!! The GOBO with our initials that they provided was beautiful, and everyone commented on the booth with the integrated LCD screen with picture of us. They were definitely unique touches to our reception.

DJ Rockhand was great! After comparing prices for a few other DJs in the area, I discovered that his prices were lowest and we didn't need anything too extravagent. Closer to the wedding, we also booked a Spanish guitarist (Pancho I. - highly recommend him!) to play for the ceremony and cocktail hour, so I emailed with Keyla to see if we could get a lower price for a shorter length of time. At this point, we had already signed our contract, so understandably they didn't want to lower the price, but Keyla did throw in fun lighting that was actually very elegant and helped the ambience for free. So I was happy with their flexibility. We got the basic package without a master of ceremony and there was still a cordless mic for us to make toasts, provide details, etc., and even Keyla and Luis made announcements when asked. The music was great and I had emailed a playlist just a week or so before our wedding and they had every song there! They had to choose which ones to play since I sent way more titles than there was time, and they chose the best ones to please our guests! I also specified that we weren't doing typical wedding things like father/daughter or mother/son dances, bouquet/garter tosses, etc and they were totally respectful of all our wishes. They also were flexible with their set-up since we had so much rain and had to move on to plan B. I highly recommend them!

We were truly disappointed with service and the treatment from DJ Rockhand and his wife Keyla who serves as their MC. First of all THe MC is what they call an elegant MC all she did was make the introductions. She would make 1 announcement and if the people did not hear it was just too bad. For example when she announced we were cutting the cake she did it only once and did bother to get the crowds attention. We had also requested and MC?Slash party motivator which she was not. Our best man had to get on the microphone to motivate the crowd. They did not play the wedding party entrance song until half the party had made it and only after we screamed what happened to the song. They only played the music requested after we complained and by then half our party was at the bar or outside. When my husband wrote them to complain they wrote back insulting us calling us liars and accusing us of lying to get our money back.
I would never recommend them based on their unprofessional attitude. They stated they are in the business for 20 years then they should have been able to determine what would get the crowd on the dance floor and notice if they need to make an announcement again because no one is paying them any attention.

Luis and Keyla met us ahead of time to discuss our event, and even though Luis wasn't available himself for our event, the DJ's he sent were great. Kept the party going and even stayed late at my request when we didn't want to stop dancing!

My experience with DJ Rockhand and Keyla was excellent. They were professional, responsive and flexible. I'm really surprise to read two negative reviews on them. I can only think that those other clients were difficult and angry people- I wonder if they are still married... Anyways, Keyla was the MC and she did a good job- she did the announcements as well cheering up the party. The only suggestion I have for Keyla is to be the time keeper and track the timing of events that need to happen in a wedding a little more closely. So that everybody in the wedding can enjoy themselves without looking at the clock. DJ Rockhand had a great play list- everybody danced at our wedding and praised the music selection. They were on time and gave us a great service- the music made the mood of the party. This DJ is of top choice in Puerto Rico.

Mere words could never simply describe what DJ Rockhand and his wife Keyla have meant to my husband and I the day of our wedding! For starters, what could have turned out to develop into a NIGHTMARE of a situation (the band showed up late and I ultimately had to fire them DURING my reception), DJ Rockhand totally turned this grim situation into a DREAM! Their professionalism, true understanding and genuine sincerity during the wedding were immeasurable! Due to the situation I was dealing with, they were very supportive and promised to make the night one to remember...and BOY WERE THEY RIGHT!! DJ Rockhand kept my guests entertained during the entire time. They had the PERFECT music for dinner time, played all of our recommendations and offered a true variety of all types of music. My husband and I are true music fans (of just about anything) but they also accomodated the guests who came from NY to attend our wedding in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. There was a mix of salsa, merengue, cumbia, hip hop (old school and new), R & B, dance music, etc. (the list goes on and on) DJ Rockhand was the PERFECT selection for a bride who was really worried about not being able to control every single detail from far away (and believe me, I am MEGA picky!!). For brides that are looking to do a destination wedding and are really concerned about picking the right DJ to accomodate your every need, DJ Rockhand (and his wife) are the BEST SELECTION IN ALL OF PUERTO RICO!! They saved my wedding night with their professionalism, attention to detail and availability for every single question I had as a NY bride (being that I'm a control freak). They are the absolute best. Don't question it for a second...pick up the phone and call them right away...you WILL NOT regret it...I promise!!

Keyla and Luis were so great to work with. Our schedule was so hectic while we were in PR. They met my husband on the day of the wedding and went over all of the music that we wanted. They were so professional and kind. The equipment he had was state of the art. He had such a huge library of songs. There wasnt one song that we requested that he didnt have. He transitioned from one song to the next and it was fabulous!

The dj made the cocktail hour and reception a success. We literally danced from the minute we were announced until the end of the reception.

They not only played an excellent selection of music, but also acted as master of ceremony at my reception. Such a stupendous job! They made sure I was taken care of throughout the event and kept an eye on everything as well. My guests had such a fun time!! Highly recommended!

They were a delightful company to work with who did everything that was asked of them and let us relax and enjoy our wedding, I highly recommend them.

What can I say about DJRockhand other than he helped to make our wedding reception an absolute blast! Luis and his wife, Keyla, were an absolute joy to work with. We requested only DJ services as well as lights and the smoke machine. (I was skeptical of the smoke machine but was SO glad we had it. Our guests loved it and it really made the dance floor that much more festive!) Luis played everything on our playlist and once he got a flavor for what we liked played a bunch of other stuff in the same genre. I'm not kidding when I tell you that everyone was on their feet dancing! As a last minute request, I had sent Luis some mp3's of songs that were specifically requested by some "lindy hop" dancers in our group. He was flexible and got them in - which of course made our guests very happy. As the night was winding down we realized that everyone was having so much fun that they weren't ready to leave so we payed for an additional 30 minutes to keep the night going longer. Luis was on-time and had quite the sophisticated set-up. The sound quality was also excellent. He also received and played requests from our guests. I can't tell you how many of our family and friends were raving about the music and the reception and about Luis and Keyla themselves. The are just such a nice couple who truly love what they do. I would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone looking to have an excellent time at their event.

I choose Dj Rockhand based upon another review I read on a wedding site. Dj Rockhand and his secretary Kayla were very attentive and respond quick to phone calls and emails. However, the day of the wedding I was not entirely satisfied with their services. They were on time and did have a list of songs that we had given them ahead of time. However, we gave them instructions about particular dances and the times we wanted to have them done and the simple instructions were messed up. We also booked their Master of Ceremony to direct the reception and get everyone excited, however, she sat down most of the night. My husband was a better MC. I felt as though I paid for her to barely speak a few words. What made things worse is that the Dj tried to leave an hour before our contract stated. They even proceeded to make a handwritten change over the time that was typed on the contract. I later spoke with Kayla during the reception who cleared things up and confirmed that the Dj was to stay the additional hour. Towards the end of the night one of our friends hooked up his iPod to the Dj's equipment and that's when the real party began. I would not recommend Dj Rockhand. I feel bad about giving a negative review but I wish I would have picked a better Dj. All in all I would have been better playing a playlist from my iPod and saving $1,000.

Our experience with DJ Rockhand company was excellent. We found him searching the web. From beginning to end professionalism and having fun was top priority. We live in North Carolina and all the communication until we got to Puerto Rico was trough the phone and emails. We created the playlist we wanted him to used in our reception.(first dance song, eating time music, etc) His secretary was cordial and respectful every time we spoke on the phone keeping in us updated with everything. The reception was awesome. They were on time, the lights and the quality of sound blew me away. The Master of Ceremony that DJRH provided was amazing, everything went smoothly thanks to her. My family that came down for the big day had a great time. At first they were a bit shy because the families haven't interact that much, because i'm from the states and my husband is from Puerto Rico but the master of ceremony used her charisma and out going personality to made everyone feel comfortable enough they could have fun, dance and enjoy the reception all through the night. I respectfully disagree with the previous review, we didn't need a Ipod or my husband to be an MC on our wedding. DJRH was very humble and willing to work with my husband in a last minute request. My husband surprised me with one of the service that DJRH offer, a video presentation of pictures and videos we have taken over the years. When we arrived to Puerto Rico my husband meet whit him and set it up with out me knowing. That was one of the biggest moment of the night. Over all everything was excellent. I want to thanks DJRH and his staff for helping make our day a memorable one.
