I am a photojournalistic professional wedding photographer. I believe that wedding photographs are not "taken", they are created. Your photographer is a partner in the wedding day process and should be a perfect fit. The

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
My experience is in both wedding and studio photography. Canon Professional DSLR Cameras are my cameras of choice. I have experience in all lighting situations.
Is your media preference film or digital?
All digital
How many photographers do you work with?
Occassionally, and depending upon the Photo Collection purchased, I work with a 2nd photographer. I am always the lead photographer on all assignments.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
All assignments are handled by me personally.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I never book more than 1 wedding per day.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have large number of professional photographers available if an emergency were to develop. In over 10 years, we have never experienced an emergency.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Equipment brought to the wedding includes one primary DSLR cameara, one back-up DSLR camera, 3 image stabilized lenses of various focal lengths, reflectors, light meter, white balance tools, back-up batteries and various other photographic tools.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Rates are based on a full day
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
I do not charge overtime.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
A 20 minute meal break is customary.
Do you charge for travel?
Normally, there is no charge for travel (some limitations apply)
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Proofs are availble securely online within 7 days.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Proofs are available online or online & via I-Pod Touch (I-Pod Touch Device included depending on Wedding Collection Purchased)
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Online proofs are availble for 120 days. With the I-Pod Touch proofing option, the I-Pod becomes propery of the client.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Copyright Releases are included in most Wedding Collections.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
I reserve the right to use photographs created at the wedding for promotional use or advertising.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Digital Files are included with most Wedding Collections.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Both proofing and the ordering of prints in a secure web environment is include via a partnership with Pictage.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer custom Leather Craftsman Brand Albums exclusively.
When will the client get the final album?
Most Wedding Collections are fully complete within 3 weeks of the couple selecting the proofs.
Additional Advice
When the wedding is over and all the guests go home, you are normally only left with your photographs. In fact, many couples treasure the photographs more than the gifts that they recieve. Take your time and select the photographer that you feel most comfortable. Good professional photographers can be found for reasonable fees. But use caution when trying to find a "cheap" photographer.
