Gwyn was am amazing photographer that came to Cancun with us to capture our special day. We were able to work out a great package for her services that was both flexible and reasonable in price. The end result was amazing and her beautiful photo's grace my home in every room and remind us of our beautiful destination wedding every day! Unfortunately our experience with Gywn and her services were both disappointing and stressful. We ended up losing quite a bit of money as we did not want to risk having Gwyn do our wedding pictures and treat ust he same way she did for our engagment pictures. To make a VERY long ordeal short. We had engagement pictures done, and 4 months later had still yet to see any. After several attempts to contact, we were finally returned with a uninterested person who had to be reminded where we lived. We were told it was common practice not to get picture back before a 4 month period. When we asked for our deposit back, we were refused as the "180" day clause had passed. Conviently that passed when we were trying to contact her. We were willing to pay for the medicore pictures but again were met with unprofessional responses. My gut told me to not trust her....so we found a photographer who reassured us that DREAMCATCHER PHOTOGRAPHY'S practice was NOT common place. Our new photographer was INCREDIBLE......there are not enough words to describe her. Anyways, be careful if you book with Gwyn. She is a great option if you want someone who is never available and will make you wait for your pictures.

As with any dispute there are always 2 sides to the story and this is no exception. I did an engagement shoot for this couple in the fall of 2009. They were to be married June 2010. When we reviewed the contract together I made it clear that while I offer free e-shoots with each of my wedding packages, I don't provide those images to the client until 180 days prior to their wedding date when their deposit becomes non-refundable. I do this so that I'm not giving away a free shoot, only to have a couple take their free images and cancel their contract with me. It protects me from being taken advantage of. I did their e-shoot in November and they received their images February 7th. The client did not try to reach me repeatedly. She contacted me right before Christmas and again in mid January. Both times I told her she would receive her images in early February. Shortly after she received them (and praised me via email for my work) she called me to say she wanted to cancel their contract with me as she felt I was un-reliable. It was very out of the blue and I was a bit shocked! I struggled for a couple of days with how I should handle the refund situation. I checked with other more experienced photographers in other forums to see what they would do. The response I got back from all the more senior photographers was to stand by my contract. One photographer even told me their contract states their refund is non-refundable immediately upon signing and that I was being generous by allowing my clients the option to cancel up to 180 days prior to their wedding date.
This bride was not happy with my decision to stand by my contract and has now made it her mission to run my good name through the mud :( I have asked some of my happy clients to post their reviews on my site so that people can see that this is one unhappy and mean spirited bride that I had the misfortune of encountering.
My advice to all brides and grooms is to really read and understand the terms of any contract you sign with a vendor. Ask questions and know what you are agreeing to! Happy planning!

FAQ for Dreamcatcher Photography
If I want enlargements done, can I order through you? YES, I use a professional printing lab and can make beautiful quality prints in any size.
What exactly is "retouching images"? It means that I will make you look flawless, ensure that there are no distractions in the background (such as a drunken uncle walking through the picture, etc) and add my own creative touch to pictures, such as black and white, sepia, softening the picture, etc. I also do custom retouching which means if you would like to see a colour image in black and white, I will make the change for you with no extra cost.
