Dunedin Community Center (Elliot Room)

We had our Valentines Day reception here, in the Elliot Room, and it was absolutely beautiful. This place is nothing like your average "community center". It was within minutes from Honeymoon Island where we had our ceremony, and right down the street from our beautiful hotel. This location was the most affordable & reasonable place in the area, especially for V-Day. The Elliot Room is great for small or medium receptions, but has a beautiful view of their lake, and has an outside courtyard that is accessible from the room. Our guests used it for the smoking area and its also where we had the bubbles for the kids and sparkler exit photo op. The room itself has a unique shaped hardwood floor section that can save you a ton by utilizing it for your dance floor area rather than having to rent one. They provide you with all of the tables and chairs, set up and take down. The staff was very helpful and professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. You do have to arrange your own set up and clean up immediately after your event for all of your decorations and linen rentals and such, but if your guests and wedding party are anything like ours, they all pitched in to break everything down in a matter of minutes. Another plus is that you can bring in your own caterer and alchohol and avoid paying any off site or cork fees and such, allowing you to pick whoever you choose for outside vendors.
You must see this place in person, as the website doesnt offer any pics really. They also have a large ballroom that is absolutely gorgeous if this room is too small for you. So if you are looking for a nice place in small Dunedin, you can't beat the service, cost and presentation of this place!!
