David was a delight to work with. He was our ceremony music and music for cocktail hour. He traveled over 2 hours and played 2 hours and was the most reasonable priced anywhere i have found. The only thing i would have changed was to have him stay and play longer everyone loved it. It adds class and elegance to your venue! Highly recommended.

Ok. Can I just say how perfect David was? He has a beautiful sound. He was SO easy to work with. He was willing to try anything, and really wanted to be in keeping with the "vision" we had for our day. We had him play solo cello for our ceremony and cocktail hour. When we were planning, he even took time out of a retreat he was on the help nail down some last details.
And what a nice guy. He has such a big heart, you can tell. And that added to the specialness of our day because we knew he cared.

What is your usual attire?
Dark pants, dark jacket, white shirt, subdued tasteful tie, black shoes. Of course attire can be tailored to the specific needs of the client.
Do you offer live sample performances or CDs?

How much time do you usually need for setup?
3/4 of an hour. I usually arrive 1 hour ahead to ensure all details are taken care of. As you know with many events, there are often last minute changes and details.
How much space do you usually require?
Solo cello requires about 4-foot square. Cello + piano tracks equipment requires 6-foot square. For outdoor events, I would require a shaded location.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?

Additional Advice
Once in a while a wedding couple asks me to play a short piece in the middle of the ceremony, as a sort of Special Music. Doing so gives the couple a chance to breath and it’s a simple way to make your ceremony that much more memorable to you and your guests.

A heads-up about any outdoor wedding events: I have played many outdoor weddings and have the necessary amplification required for the cello. However, from my experience, many wedding couples forget to give the Pastor/Officiant a microphone with the result that, outdoors, their speaking voices only reach the front few rows of seats. It's as if the rest of your guests are sitting in silence for 30 minutes. This can be a great disappointment to your guests. I have a wireless microphone (used at my own wedding two years ago) which I would be delighted to bring if you, free of charge, should need it. Just let me know in advance.
